Hello, here's an idea for Loki Oriflamme's powers. Tell me what you think.
Before Loki's flames were sealed by the Vampire Queen's Mark of Possession, he was able to envelope his entire body with a cloak of "flames" that has a temperature of 5,500 degrees celsius (that's the same temperature as the surface of a star).
Loki's world formula alteration is the conceptual essence of the sun. A conceptual curse of erosion and dehydration stemming from the sun and desert that drains anything that gets close.
The essence of the "sun" and its "light" are being harnessed and concentrated, meaning his "fire" hits faster and stronger than the Oriflamme House's magic normally would. No, it can't really be considered fire at this point. Fire is just the aftereffect.
That's why the Vampire Queen is so terrified of him. That's why Loki is the first and only person ever marked by Faustina/Naenia herself.
There's a reason why the Beastia are widely feared for being some of the most powerful and dangerous Vampires of the entire race.
It's an interesting idea! I am a canon girl first and foremost and we know so little about Loki that I absolutely cannot comment here in terms of accuracy, but if nothing else, the concept is cool. There's good odds of him doing something fire or fire-adjacent given his family's specialties. I could also see him being more on the chaotic/shapeshifter end like Teacher, though, given the name reference, so it's not a sure thing. Maybe both?
Though, do we know that the Queen is scared of him? I can't remember or find anything to that effect. We know Ruthven doesn't want Vanitas to cure him, and we know he was apparently involved in "smashing up" Faustina's corpse along with others, but that's about it.

What's going on with Charles
Who Spider is
Where Naenia went
If anything else will happen to Chloe and Jean-Jacques
How Vanitas dies
What Ruthven will make Noé do with his curse
If anything will happen with Loki
What's going on with the Senate
What they'll do about the vampire queen
Where Teacher and Vanitas have met before
What all went on with Luna being a curse bearer
And so much more

VnC Death Possibilities
Vanitas: 100% going to die
Simple enough. It was stated at the beginning. There’s a very slim chance that he’s only thought to be dead or had a faked death. A fake death doesn’t really fit the theme unless specific events take place.
Jeanne: Highly possible
Jeanne is unstable and Vanitas made a promise to kill her. Honestly, there are just so many ways for her to die. Vanitas killing her, Ruthven killing her, a chasseur killing her. She also has a high chance of dying on her own. The fact Vanitas loves her can be a point of conflict to see if he can actually bring himself to kill her. She’s filled with death flags.
Misha: Highly possible
Misha is most likely a zombie and will probably go down near the end of the book when curse bearers are being eliminated. There’s a high possibility he’s only being kept alive with powers from the book and using it to destroy curse bearers, even if Vanitas is the one to do it, will possibly kill him. There’s also a chance of him sacrificing himself in order to help Vanitas near the end. Since he’s working with Teacher, Teacher could easily dispose of him.
Roland & Olivier: Most likely but only if together
Roland and Olivier are in a dangerous career where they could become an accidental casualty at any moment. A vampire could attack them or they could be caught in the crossfire. Roland will probably end up dying first in a fight, maybe when the chasseurs are fighting him. “How many chasseurs do you think I could take?” We’ll find out. If Roland is taken out by vampires or chasseurs, Olivier will most likely meet the same fate when trying to save, help, or avenge Roland.
Roland alone: Possibly
With Roland befriending Noe, there’s a possibility he will betray the church or be seen as betraying that church and have chasseurs go after him. He seems very sure of himself with even being able to take on Olivier. If he dies on his own, it’s very possible Olivier will be the one killing him. It could be willingly, accidentally, or for mercy. Not to mention Astolfo loves him and Astolfo is not allowed to be happy.
Johann: Possibly
Honestly, one of the dhams has to go. There are three of them and no way is a group of three like this allowed to survive. They aren’t the main trio, so they have to lose one. Johann is the most suspicious and seems to be the most evil. He will probably be dying in some Monsieur Spider scheme (if that is him) or will sacrifice himself to save his fellow dhams.
Loki: Possibly
Loki is a curse bearer and there’s a good possibility that on its own will kill him. Not to mention the “Curse bearing is his salvation” type line. There’s also a chance Loki’s death could give Luca a bigger spotlight. It doesn’t matter if he stays in the background or becomes more important, he has a good possibility of dying.
Marco: Possibly
Going with the theme of “Astolfo loses everyone he loves” Marco has his chance at death. Not as big as Roland would have but he is all Astolfo has left of his family. Marco really isn’t important enough on his own right now so it lessens his chance of dying. Astolfo is really the only thing bringing him close to death. If Astolfo somehow dies, Marco will live.
Olivier on his own: Doubtful
Olivier dying on his own wouldn’t have too much of an impact unless it forced Roland to leave. If Roland is leaving, there’s a good chance he will die which would make this impossible. Since Olivier is working with chasseurs, there’s a chance of death just with them. However, it is very small.
Astolfo: Doubtful
Poor kid has been through so much suffering that he’s going to be put through a lot more of it. This is Jun. Astolfo exists to suffer. He doesn’t get an end from his suffering, only more suffering. Also Roland has more death flags than Astolfo and we all know Astolfo loses everyone he loves. Except Marco. In addition to those things, he hates himself and wants to die. And the more you want to die the better chance you have at living.
Dante: Doubtful
Dante is more in the position of “Will be horribly maimed but make it out in the end” rather than marked for death. His injuries could be a possible trigger for Johann to go crazy. There’s a slight chance he might be a background casualty, but why? It would be fine for him to be presumed dead for a short amount of time.
Riche: Doubtful
Honestly, Riche isn’t in too important of a position right now to die. However, that could put her in the perfect position to die. But she’s more on the live while injured side with Dante rather than the death side with Johann. If her importance in the story changes, she may go from Doubtful to Possibly.
Domi: Doubtful
Domi has already been in a position for death and made it out. She does have a red flag or two on her but mostly injured flags. She was used once to show how Noe will snap and go crazy over her and it’s possible for it to happen again. Death is most likely out of reach for her unless it’s a temporary death.
Ruthven: Doubtful
Sure Ruthven could die but why kill him when he can suffer eternally for a punishment? Ruthven doesn’t scream death so much as he screams eternal exile. Surely something will happen to him but it doesn’t seem like it would be death. Maybe Jeanne goes to kill him for revenge but stops/is stopped right before murdering him. But then again, we all know what happened the last time there was an uncle in a Jun Mochizuki story.
Murr: No
Murr is too powerful of a cat to die. He gets to live out his normal cat life.
Teacher: No
Teacher is more of a character that will “die” or will vanish to another country and start a new life before he actually dies. If he reaches a situation where he may die, he will peace out and disappear.
Noe: No
He’s the one telling the story. He’s living to the end. Maybe it’s implied he dies after the story ends, but that’s as close as you get to his death.

Vampire society revolution
I really hope this happen in universe of VNC but I know possibilities are very low because it is a manga that talk about vampires.
It is very hard in vampire stories not being classist, despite the presence of unfair society because main characters benefit from that, and rebels are usually greed power(for example first Blade movie). Only story I remember the main character turned in rebel, it is Underground.
And because Japanise society is still pretty classist, I don't remember a lot mangas that take part of rebels.
For example in Vampire Knight , ordinary vampires were still loyal to purebloods and senate despite being the source of all their problems.
In VNC we can see how much is unfair vampire society, which also explains why vampires take risk to live in human world.
1)A corrupt Senate who make very clear difference approach in base of social class. Amelia and Loki are both curse-bearers, but Amelia was kept in prison and in chains like animal for caution, and if vanitas failed to show his ability of cure, she 'd be killed.
Loki despite being a curse-bearers, not only his life is spared but he lives confortably.
2)Members of senate who protect Naemia, the source of curses, Same people who collaborate with Church in horrible experiment on vampires.
3)Bourreau, children of traitors who need to pay for sin of their parents by fighing forever until their death. They can escape from this destiny only if they become a knight, which means by be liked by powerful vampire.
4)slaves,i don't need to say more
5) Genocide of twins(which we don't know why)
6) Rid off of Archiviste clan. I know it is not confermed but because most vampires live in Altus ,it is more probably the attack was from other vampires. And because Archiviste's power maybe they found out unconfortable truth,
7) A govement has never tried to cure the curse-bearers, a respectable govement who'd work their bu^^s hard for looking a solution
8) They are making decisions that 'd turn in a war ( I blame also Church), which that will affect commun vampires.
9) If truth about naemia or doctor Moreau come out, there is no way there wouldn't be a revolt.
But I really think a revolution in VNC would be a great plot twist and would give a lot character development to main vampires, and possible allies for Vanitas.
Thinking of Jeanne meets an another bourreau who reprimands her cause she still serve a corrupt senate who using them like tool for killing in fact more dissidents or innocents than real enemies.
Being looking down because bourreau make the dirty job.
But because Luca is nice with her, nothing matters.
Noè really faces the situation of his clan and slavery. Don't matter what somebody did, nobody deserve a genocide or becoming a slave.
Domi understands she doesn't want serve ideals of her family, who protect only status quo. Finding out the real reaction why twins are cursed and not being anymore "Louis should be alive." but " Why don't both us deserve to live a good life?"
Vanitas finding out more allies, now main character don't have a stand agaist charlatan, not in force or political power.
Come on , we are in France, a country of revolutions! And like a say revolution plot in a royal vampire story is very rare.
I want this revolution be like " Revolution become violent when peaceful way failed" and " People shouldn't be afraid of govement, but it should." No like no" both side are right and oppressed part is whining."

I'm sorry for answering so late! I didn't see this!
I've honestly never thought of him.. but, you certainly got me thinking.. the most powerful vampires in vnc have unique eyes yeah? Im sure loki is no different..
Example 1 noé archiviste (my baby)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
He has lavender eyes with a ring around the iris.
Last of his clan (well lady Archiviste) much have so some significance.
Then, we have Jeanne the hell fire witch
Tumblr media
Same ring around the iris. a powerful bourreau serving under Ruthven..
Tumblr media
Ruthven himself... all of these characters have unique eyes and extraordinary powers.
Loki is so different.
Probably why the queen feared him and his power...
Tumblr media
I'm exicted to see more from him. I think you theory Is valid, let's wait for mochijun:)))

Some VNC theories/spoilers:
Faustina and Luna are twins. (Born human twins at least.) When one became corrupted so did the other. They are the reason behind the superstition that twin vampires are a bad omen.
There is a 3rd grimoire, a crimson grimoire, originally Faustina’s but it might have fallen into another’s hands. This grimoire can also curse others and is the reason there are so many curse bearers. (There are some because of the books of Vanitas, but not all of them were cursed by those books.)
Loki Oriflamme has and will play a major role before it’s all over. This might force Luca to a more active role as well.
Louis de Sade is “alive.” At least something that resembles him is, this is a tool to manipulate Noé. That said I highly doubt that he’s No. 70, I’m not a fan of that theory it seems unrealistic to me. Now Naenia keeping Louis’s vessel going even after he is executed…that sounds right.
No. 70 will make a reappearance though.
The Shapeless One either is Murr or he can view things through Murr’s eyes and Murr is just a familiar. (I’m leaning towards the latter.)
Curse bearers are being controlled by Faustina, but someone else is controlling her. There’s someone even higher up as terrifying as that is.
The Shapeless One and Marquis Machina are playing a very elaborate game of chess and everyone in the world are their pawns. They interject themselves in occasionally to attempt to orchestrate events.

I have to admits that the Oriflamme boys stole my heart
So I didn’t only notice the lions and the throne thing but there is another thing.
First lets talk about Luca, although he is still a child he held the position as the grand duke, thats why he is trying to act mature despite his young age while he should act as his age. it is normal for him to act childish most of the time because HE IS STILL A CHILD! but he even told Noe that his action was not ‘mature’ when he attacked them. Luca is trying his best to live up to the expectations while holding himself sometime.
=what I had notice=
Luca seems to have some kind of behavior or a habit when he is nervous, scared, worried, angry, shy, emotional, irritated, annoyed or uncomfortable in general. he clenches his fists or holds any part of his clothes\bag and sometimes he bring his hands near to his chest as if he was embracing himself. I think this is his body’s respond of what he is feeling or a way for him to calm himself down and staying stable. as a child he is living under stress and pressure of both his position and Loki’s condition, so I think it is possible for him to have this kind of behavior.
Tumblr media
but there is only one time that was different a little bit, when they sensed Faustina’s presence. Luca was terrified, while his left hand stayed on his thigh his right hand went directly to clench Loki’s trousers, then Loki calmed him down and patted his head
-this baby seems to have an extremely soft and fluffy head I want to play with it XD-
Tumblr media
and this actually reminded me when Ruthven patted Luca’s head saying he was worry about him, Luca immediately went back and moved away then covered his face with his hands because he was shy with his uncle’s attitude. I think he doesn’t want Ruthven to treat him as a child because as I said before he want to act as a mature and show that to everyone around him.
Tumblr media
YET! Luca didn’t move away from Loki’s hand. which makes me think that the only person who Luca acts normally, freely or comfortable in front of is his big brother Loki
Tumblr media
here again I remembered when Jeanne said “there could be no safer place than master Loki’s side”
I think she meant -other than Loki being powerful- is that Loki will provide a whole protection to Luca both physically and mentally. Loki is kind of a source of safety to Luca, he can feel safe and secure the most when he is with his big brother, Loki's side is Luca's comfort zone.
not to forget that Luca described Loki as his precious person.
Tumblr media
Loki please MOVE this child still a baby he need you in his life
and as usual pls tell me what do you think

I want to see a situation where a malnomen isn’t an entirely bad thing.
We saw Jean-Jacques give up his true name willingly to protect Chloé, and we also saw Chloé give up her true name to get revenge on Naenia for Jean-Jacques.
What I want to see was not either of those, and how our protagonists react.
What I want to see is a situation where a person hates their true name so viscerally that they thought anything would be better than it, so willingly gave it up and became a curse-bearer.
Personally, I think and hope the person that will fill my desire for this is Loki.
This was an idea that briefly touched upon in Chapter 13.
Lord Ruthven says this when Noé brings up healing Loki:
“Salvation takes many forms. Being freed from the curse does not necessarily bring happiness to the person in question.”
I wonder if that was something Lord Ruthven interpreted from Loki, if it was something Loki told Lord Ruthven but not Lucas, or a mix of both.
I think this is something Vanitas already understand on some level, but Noé does not.
When Noé tells Vanitas that Jean-Jacques was the Beast and that Chloé became a curse-bearer of his accord, he says this:
“…Well, this was a wasted trip.”
At that point, he didn’t understand why either if them became curse-bearers willingly, just that they did.
This was after he was visibly saddened after he came too late to save Catherine and had to kill her in Chapter 10.
Even though afterwards Noé shakes him and demands to know what salvation is, Vanitas states that he has no idea. I’m of the opinion he does know on some level, and is either unwilling or unable to voice it.
However he also quotes words from Chapter 1.
“No matter what you want… I will save you without fail.”
Note he doesn’t say ‘heal’. Noé just interpreted this as salvation = being healed from a curse-bearer. This almost definitely comes from seeing Louis killed in front of him by his teacher as he lost control as a curse-bearer. And based on his narration at the end of Chapter 1, it still doesn’t seem like he gets over it by the time that narration occurs.
Back to Loki. He doesn’t seem bothered by the fact he’s chained up all that much. Of course he could just be hiding it for Lucas’ sake.
In the shadows in Chapter 38, right before Naenia gets incarnated, there’s a figure that looks to be Loki. And notably, his hands are not bound. I wonder why. If we go on the theory that he was bound willingly, he might genuinely not be bothered.
And that leads to what I want to see, either from Loki or someone else: a person that became a malnomen willingly for no reason other than that they loathe their true name to the point where they’re willing to do anything to get rid of it. Even warp it into a malnomen.
I feel like Loki is a good canditate for what I want to see. His given name is Loki, which is the name of the trickster god of Norse mythology. This opens up the possibility that Loki’s true name is something along the lines of Ragnarök: the events that include a great battle and lead to a death of a number of great figures, and that will submerge the current world in water.
He already makes references to the fact that “we went to the trouble of smashing her corpse up for her,” implying he was around for her death, and may have taken part.
In that vein, I theorize that his malnomen might be something like Jörmungandr, the world serpent who heralds Ragnarök by releasing it’s tail. Malnomen are shown to be related to the true name: Millie is the theater of ice and snow, and the malnomen of Canorus, she who plays snow crystals.
Lupe Garou, wolf who hunts crimson, is the malnomen of Bucolicus, he who composes Idylls. An “idyll” is defined as:
“An extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque episode or scene, typically an idealized or unsustainable one.”
So the malnomen Lupe Garou destroys the idylls composed by Bucolicus.
And then that brings us to the first malnomen/true name pair: Eglantine, prison of briars and Florifel, she who guides spring. When one thinks of spring, they usually think of flowers. Prison of Briars can be interpreted as “the briars that strangle the spring blooms.”
They are related like Jörmungandr is to Ragnarök.
As to why I posit Jörmungandr instead of Fenrir for the malnomen? Because based on my  understanding of Norse mythology, Jörmungandr encircles Midgard, which is surrounded by water, and so large it grasps it’s own tail. When it releases its tail, Ragnarök begins, sinking Midgard into the water. It can be argued that Jörmungandr is the thing that keeps Ragnarök at bay.
Going along with this theory, if the malnomen Jörmungandr is born from Ragnarök, then “healing” the malnomen could be analogous to  “the ouroboros releasing it’s tail, and heralding the end of the world as we know it”.
This could explain why Lord Ruthven doesn’t want Loki healed.
However, this is all conjecture.
Please feel free to comment and correct me on my understanding of Vanitas no Carte ad well as Norse Mythology!
<
p>Edit: I forgot about Bucolicus and Lupe Garou. And Eglanine and Florifel. Ack.
