Another Animation in Progress!

That's right boys I'm doing a full AMV with my own characters and story! Progress has been slow but steady, and I think people who have liked my stuff previously will really like this one. I'm proud of what I have so far and will be posting more in depth updates about it to my patreon. Because there’s a lot to making a full animation this one may take a while, but I hope it will be worth the wait.

Occasionally I'll post an animation meme, but I haven't been too into it as of recent since I want to focus on producing a longer, more quality video for my YouTube. I'm very grateful that people have been enjoying my shorter videos (to an INSANE degree btw, two of those got over 2 and 3 million views respectfully), but I want something I can show that I'm serious about being an animator too that I can make on my own time. I might make some stuff on the side, but don’t expect constant short form stuff for a while.

First is names, I think they match the characters very well! Anyway, enough stalling. Sister’s name is Vixen and the brother’s name is Maverick.

Indigo Park did make the initial spark for all this, but the game also reminded me of an old memory. When I was little I went to a fair, I don’t remember too much but it looked like it was abandoned but still running. I think it was the last week or 2 of it being up because the next time I saw that place it was gone I can only assume though, anyway we're moving on. 

I was thinking about whether I would want it to be 3d or 2d, I’ve decided I wanted it to be 2d, more specifically an RPG. Like Mad Father, Ib, The witch's house, etc…                                                

I want the game to be scary without having gore/blood and I think I can manage that with more creepy factors like the sound track/effects, off putting faces, stuff like that! Now, the main plot of the whole game. Which I’ve written down and depending on which character you choose, the wording will change to make more sense. so go ahead and read :]                         

Main plot:

It’s the last week of the fair festival, you’ve so busy due to…now you finally have time to go. It’s the last day, make it count! [Exploring the house might be a good idea before leaving, you don't want to forget anything!] Finally, you’ve made it but It seems you got here earlier than...maybe you should get tickets so it won't be a hassle later.

You’d be able to make your first roll while waiting in the parking lot 1-4 is a fail, 5-7 is a mid-success, and 8-10 is a full success! I won’t spoil more than that but I will say I want the dice rolling to be important to the game play.

Mendicant Spell Vixens

I think this one doesn't get a lot of eyes on it because, you know, the title. But it's one of the tabletop rpgs I'm most proud of writing.

I started with that title (because it came to me in a dream and I had no choice) and built outwards from there, creating a world seen through the eyes of foxes, where chicken is a rare and precious commodity and the mean god of humans took all the chicken in the world and hid it away, so foxes have to bust down the doors of dungeons (coops) to get it back.

It's very much an old school dungeon fantasy. You pick between the usual classes and weapons. But everyone has a unique currency they can spend to string actions together, and different classes interact with this currency in different ways. You can cross-class easily too, and a lot of what your character is capable of doing comes from their equipment anyway.

Also there's no perception skill. The GM *has* to describe the environment in such a way that you can guess which parts of it are dangerous---and then you have to guess which parts are dangerous.

The game's world is big and pastoral and goofy (there are wolves in cybernetic armor that live on the moon), and there's a sample adventure that comes with the book.

Plus, if you click on Community Copies, it's free if you want it to be.

Again, I'm pretty sure the title scares people off, but I'd love it if more people checked out this weird gobliny dungeon crawler.

L'histoire

Après KH1, on a enchaîné avec KH Chains of Memories et j'ai davantage apprécié les thèmes de Chains of Memories que KH1 car ils me parlent plus. L'idée que même tes souvenirs peuvent flouer ton jugement et te faire croire des choses qui sont arrivés et que ce n'est pas le cas, est assez vrai. Sans compter les membres de l'organisation XIII qui fait culpabiliser Sora d'avoir oublié Naminé dont cette dernière est prise en otage par eux. Dans le château, Sora peut avoir accès aux précédents mondes de KH1 mais avec des modifications par rapport l'histoire original. Ce qui appuie justement ce faussement de ses souvenirs avec l'incorporation d'une réplique de Riku crée par Vixen. Car Sora recherche son ami depuis la fin de KH1 et quand il voit le faux Riku, il ne comprend pas pourquoi il est contre lui faisant écho à leur conflit dans KH1. Mais contrairement à Sora et le vrai Riku qui finissent par s'unir malgré leur séparation. La réplique de Riku le repousse et renforce la culpabilité de Sora de ne pas avoir pu protéger Namine. Faisant écho à Riku quand il a parlé de sauver Kairi à Sora dans KH1. Bien que la phrase du faux Riku qui dit "Tu ne fais t'immiscer dans mon coeur". J'étais du genre "Sora et réplique de Riku, vous n'auriez pas quelque chose à nous avouer ?"

Et ses souvenirs de Namine remplacent peu à peu les souvenirs de Kairi. Il lui a promit de revenir auprès d'elle après avoir retrouvé Riku. Ce à quoi elle répond qu'elle l'attendrait, même son porte clé ait modifié alors que c'était le symbole de leur promesse. Même Donald et Dingo commençaient à oublier qu'ils étaient parti chercher le roi. Mais Naminé a été seule pendant si longtemps qu'elle a voulu exister dans les souvenirs de quelqu'un, quitte à supprimer quelqu'un de l'image. Et on peut voir que par moment, ça ne l'enchante pas des masses. En voyant que tout ça va trop loin, elle avoue ses fautes de l'avoir trompé et s'en veut. Car c'est ça le pouvoir de Naminé, réécrire les souvenirs d'une personne. Même si ce qu'elle a fait est mal, elle a arrêté la réplique de Riku et a essayé de s'interposer. Je peux pas m'empêcher d'avoir de la peine pour elle et ce malgré ses actes. Et c'est pareil pour la réplique de Riku, il voulait être le héros de l'histoire, surpasser Sora et Riku mais au fond sait que ses souvenirs sont faux et que ce qu'il ressent est faux. C'est pour ça que j'apprécie que Sora à la fin, leur dit qu'ils sont importants à leur manière.

La route de Riku est plus une ligne droite mais parle plus de sa peur envers les ténèbres et le fait qu'il les repousse. Et je l'ai trouvé un peu plus courte mais bon je pardonne car j'imagine que l'histoire de Sora a dû prendre plus de place dans la cartouche de la Game Boy Advance. Et aussi parce qu'avec deux heures de stream avec mon ami, ça va vite ! L'opposition entre Réplique Riku et lui donne un "Et si scénario" ce qui lui aurait pu lui arriver si il ne s'était pas ressaisit pour s'unir avec Sora dans KH1. Ansem est plus celui qui lui donne l'introspection de ses erreurs passés. Et bien qu'il veut se repentir, ses doutes subsistent encore, ce qui est compréhensible. Mais Mickey est son soutien émotionnel, son guide et sa lumière (littéralement), lui permettant de s'accrocher dans ses choix. Et c'était mes passages préférés dans la route de Riku, ils sont tellement précieux que je vois bien une relation mentor et apprenti malgré leur amitié qui se développe dans leur histoire. Sans compter l'ardeur et la détermination de retrouver Sora, je me dis qu'il y a pas que de l'amitié là dedans. D'ailleurs même quand il affronte le faux Sora et Zexion, ça fait un parallèle entre Sora et Naminé lors des révélations. Bien que voir Riku vaincre Ansem est cathartique, il manque quelque chose. Mais c'est logique car Ansem n'en a pas fini avec lui, c'est que partie remise.

Le Gameplay

De ce que j'ai compris, dans la GBA, le système des cartes étaient plus un action rpg et c'est gardé dans le portage des autres consoles. Même si c'est pas moi qui ait joué, je trouve que ça aurait été plus logique de faire un rpg classique. Car choisir les cartes, esquiver plus les duels de cartes et incarner Sora et Riku ça fait beaucoup à gérer. D'ailleurs ce gameplay ne sera pas reprit et dans un sens je peux comprendre pourquoi. Mais en vrai rpg classique avec le trio de Sora ou bien le duo Mickey et Riku, il y aurait eu un moyen d'avoir un truc sympa. Les bosses sont ceux de KH1 mais en ajoutant les membres de l'organisation. Bon par contre Larxene (foudre), Axel (feu), Vixen (glace) et Lexaeus (terre), en vrai on affronte le groupe edf du manoir Oblivion ? Non parce que Larxene c'est l'électricienne, Axel c'est le chauffagiste, Vixen c'est le climatiseur et Lexaeus c'est le plombier. Sérieusement, je peux pas être la seule à voir ça ?!

En conclusion, Chains of Memories est mon préféré en terme d'histoire. A voir si les autres de la saga vont surpasser ça mais je suis sûre que j'aurai plusieurs préférés à la fin du stream de mon ami sur la saga KH.

The story

After KH1, we moved on to KH Chains of Memories, and I liked the themes of Chains of Memories more than KH1, because they spoke to me more. The idea that even your memories can cloud your judgment and make you believe things that happened and didn't, is quite true. Not to mention the members of Organization XIII who make Sora feel guilty for forgetting Namine, who is taken hostage by them. In the castle, Sora can access the previous worlds of KH1, but with modifications to the original story. This supports the falsification of his memories with the incorporation of a replica of Riku created by Vixen. Sora has been looking for his friend since the end of KH1, and when he sees the replica Riku, he can't understand why he's against him, echoing their conflict in KH1. But unlike Sora and the real Riku, who end up uniting despite their separation. Riku's retort pushes him away and reinforces Sora's guilt at not having been able to protect Namine. Echoing Riku when he spoke to Sora about saving Kairi in KH1. Although the line from the fake Riku that says “You're immersing yourself in my heart”. I was like “Sora and replica Riku, don't you have something to share with us?”

And his memories of Namine are gradually replacing those of Kairi. He promised to come back to her after finding Riku. To which she replied that she'd wait for him, even though her keychain had been altered as a symbol of their promise. Even Donald and Goofy were beginning to forget that they'd gone to look for the king. Naminé had been alone for so long that she wanted to exist in someone's memories, even if it meant removing someone from the picture. And we can see that, at times, she's not thrilled about it. Seeing that it's all gone too far, she admits her faults in deceiving him and blames herself. Because that's Naminé's power, to rewrite a person's memories. Even though what she did was wrong, she stopped Riku's retort and tried to intervene. I can't help but feel sorry for her, despite her actions. And it's the same for Replica Riku, he wanted to be the hero of the story, to surpass Sora and Riku but deep down he knows that his memories are false and that what he feels is false. That's why I like it when Sora tells them at the end that they're important in their own way.

Riku's path is more of a straight forward, but speaks more of his fear of darkness and the fact that he pushes it away. And I found it a little shorter, but I can forgive that because I imagine Sora's story must have taken up more space in the Game Boy Advance cartridge. And also because with two hours of stream with my friend, it goes fast! The opposition between Replica Riku and him gives a “What if scenario” what could have happened to him if he hadn't pulled himself together to unite with Sora in KH1. Ansem is more the one who gives him the introspection of his past mistakes. And although he wants to repent, his doubts still linger, which is understandable. But Mickey is his emotional support, his guide and his light (literally), allowing him to hold on to his choices. And these were my favorite parts of Riku's journey; they're so precious that I can see a mentor/apprentice relationship developing in their story, despite their friendship. Not to mention the eagerness and determination to find Sora, I'm thinking there's more to it than friendship. In fact, even when he confronts the illusion of Sora created by Zexion, it draws a parallel between Sora and Naminé during the revelations. Although seeing Riku defeat Ansem is cathartic, something is missing. But that's logical, since Ansem isn't finished with him yet, so it's only a postponement.

The Gameplay

From what I understand, in the GBA, the map system was more of an action rpg, and this has been kept in the port to other consoles. Even though I'm not the one who played it, I think it would have made more sense to make a classic rpg. Because choosing cards, dodging plus card duels and playing as Sora and Riku is a lot to handle. Besides, this gameplay won't be used again, and in a way I can understand why. But in a real classic rpg with the trio of Sora or the duo Mickey and Riku, there would have been a way to have something fun. The boss are the same as in KH1, but with the addition of members of the organization. On the other hand, Larxene (lightning), Axel (fire), Vixen (ice) and Lexaeus (earth), are we really up against the edf group from Oblivion Manor? No, because Larxene's the electrician, Axel's the heating engineer, Vixen's the air conditioner and Lexaeus is the plumber. Seriously, I can't be the only one seeing this!

In conclusion, Chains of Memories is my favorite in terms of story. Whether the others in the saga will surpass this remains to be seen, but I'm sure I'll have several favorites by the end of my friend's KH saga stream.

I like to think that post-cheryl and the gang graduating, cheerleading ended up becoming like riverdale's stereotypical euphemism for lesbianism ya know like softball so by the time the river vixens get revived it's like

'i'm trying out for the cheerleading squad' 'oh huh didn't know you flipped that way' kinda stuff

and whilst it is important to me that it's not Because of cheryl in a Super Intentional way, more like part consequence of cheryl's HBIC energy magnifying her Big Gay Energy, coupled with a preexisting higher percentage of on the DL queerleaders already on the squad (I'm looking at you early seasons backwards snapback vixen and 1950's closeted couple who came out the second 50's cheryl did, betty and veronnica also count retroactively fite me) with just a dash of influence from choni's Epic Romance

it is equally important to me that toni and cheryl have been all but like Mythologized at riverdale high particularly to the queer students that follow

like c'mon A Blossom and A Southside Serpent ensured the rumor mill would always pay attention but then they went ahead and had their first kiss during a rescue from an illegal conversion therapy operation for the love of gaia, Absolute Legend behaviour

and its like even without the high stakes backdrop of gangs and cults and serial killers and lethal rpgs and atrcious parenting coloring their narrative

they are undeniably The riverdale high Power Couple, president blossom and first Lady topaz? never met a seat they couldn't share? officially the first sapphic prom queens in riverdale history?

Like the impact of all that and more doesn't get erased in 7-8 years and it's not at all outside the realm of possibilities that there are vixens on the team who have older siblings who were even in school at the same time as choni

which brings me to the main dumb reason this post exists which is i just desperately need a bunch of the vixens 2.0 to be queer and fucking here for the frenemy ex's Drama cheryl and toni are serving in 5.07

like it would be a travesty if there weren't a single Gay^TM to witness this absolute masterpiece of an interaction

The Witcher 3 Update Adds the Best Mods, New PC Options, and More

While we’ve already gotten a pretty good rundown of The Witcher 3 update that will bring the hit RPG game into the next gen, developer CD Projekt has now provided a full list of patch notes for version 4.0. The updates aren’t limited to graphics – as we’ve seen, the Witcher 3 team has seen fit to add all new features, as well as some of the best Witcher 3 mods, into this release. The Witcher 3 4.0 patch notes detail some of the specific community mods that have been incorporated into this version of the game, including HalkHogan’s HD Reworked Project, which we’ve recommended for years. This edition also includes Denroth’s HD Monster Reworked mod, Immersive Real-time Cutscenes by teiji25, Nitpicker’s Patch by chuckcash, and Terg500’s World Map Fixes.
