the ring itself is so old that it's not immediately evident from the satellite pics, but a way you can start to grasp the outline of it is by searching for chicxulub and then searching 'cenote' in the area.

essentially, cenotes are underground sinkholes where freshwater aquifers direct into. from what I understand, the ring of them around the crater zone is likely bc the impact created an unstable geology that groundwater routed towards and was able to shape through flow.

google maps only shows the visitable ones but they occur all along the crater ring

so once you see the cenotes you can kind of see the ring of towns along the curve (accessible fresh water and a higher position along the hill of the rim). it's nothing crazy visible, but idk haha like i said in that tag, it's a bit of a comfort thing for me to try and trace the hidden evidence of smth so ancient and history-altering through human development both on the ground and above it? it's neato yanno?

The bright side of the dark

The last few days have not been a good place for me to stay. I was trying to deal with some internal struggles and with my mum's recent comments when I stopped and thought about the wonderful people I was talking to. They're strangers, I mean, it might seem just a bunch of names on a screen but they're real people, who care for another stranger online that it's not feeling good for some reason.

And I thought I'd like to pay back these beautiful interactions I have and build something useful for the ones who's stragling and don't have the willingness to talk or ask for help.

I'm a developer. I like to create using code. I'm also autistic and being in my own bubble sometimes can feel like living on another planet. You're kinda self-sufficient in a way, you have your stim toys, your comfort shows, and you've basically built your own world. Since asking for help can be difficult I was thinking that, as a self-sufficient world builder myself, I sometimes wish to have a 'virtual' companion. I'd like it to be a robot, as I love robots, or maybe a dino-robot!

So my idea is to build a virtual one that you can 'program' to help you through difficult times when you don't want to talk to anybody but need a hand to cope with a specific situation or just for self-regulation purposes.

I'm taking notes so please feel free to comment, on what this 'virtual' companion would help you with and in which cases you would use it.
