Physical or digital media?
I would be a 100% physical media person if I could help it.
There are too many stories of games getting delisted for licensing or whatever. A developer pays for a celebrity likeness or a top 40 song or a specific model of car and five years later, whoops! The rights expired! The game goes poof. It's like it never existed. Doesn't matter how good or bad the game was.
And keep in mind, even a bad game is going to be somebody's favorite, and they deserve a way to still experience it.
If you have a disc, that disc is forever (within reason). If it's a digital game, it gets deleted from that reality. Literally deleted. I bought Forza Horizon 3 on PC a few years ago because Microsoft had the foresight to warn people when it was getting delisted. And thankfully, the servers are still up, and Microsoft says they are, at least for now, committed to letting you redownload delisted games that you paid for.
But that won't always be the case, and it's already happening that some games can permanently disappear. The Wii Shop Channel is gone now. All those Virtual Console games, all those WiiWare titles, if you missed your shot to download it from Nintendo, it's gone now. Doesn't matter how much you paid. If you connect that console to the internet all you'll have is an error message. The clock is also ticking on the 3DS and Wii U eShops, which are slated to close at the end of this month.
Stadia, in its entirety, is gone. Most (not all) of those games are available on other platforms... but if you bought it on Stadia, you will have to buy it again somewhere else, and hope that one day, that too does not also go down.
There are always gestures of preservation efforts made by the community. And I'm thankful for those. The Wii Shop Channel is gone, but all of those games have been backed up by pirates years ago. Believe me, I'm no stranger to the methods used to play games like Castlevania ReBirth or Fast Racing League, which died on the Wii Shop and have never been ported anywhere else to this day.
But there are a lot of assumptions made in things like that which may not have practical solutions. Like, how many of you reading this blog have ever tried to emulate an original Xbox game on the PC? Microsoft only lets you access a small percentage of the Xbox library through their official backwards compatibility, but what if you want to venture outside of that?
It's not an easy process. Compatibility is a mess, system requirements are all over the place, and you have to get very specific dumps to even get the games to boot at all, assuming they can actually run. Yes, the data has been preserved, but it's not worth much when you can't do anything with it or need to spend $1500 on a PC good enough to run the emulation software.
It will always be easier to own the disc and throw it in the original hardware. A lot of Sega Saturn emulation still isn't an especially easy thing to run smoothly unless you have an above average gaming PC. I'd have to spend at least $300-$400 just to upgrade my system's CPU, but a couple years ago I spent $110 on a RetroTink2x Pro and I can hook my real hardware up to that just fine.
But even that's becoming it's own problem, because all of the greasy collectors have been moving in for years now and driving prices up on even the cheapest, most recent trash. The aftermarket is all but disappearing -- up through the launch of the PS4, it used to be you could find PS2 games for pennies. Now used prices seem to stay pretty much lock step with retailer MSRP (that's the price you pay for brand new shrinkwrapped games, kids). You might be lucky to find newer games on Ebay for a couple bucks off, but it's not like it used to be.
There are more and more and more stories about grifters like WATA coming in and "officially grading" retro games to be fake collector's items, leading to awful headlines like a copy of Super Mario 64, one of the most ubiquitous and common N64 games ever made, selling for a million dollars. That's like selling a bucket of tap water for a million dollars.
Buying physical is becoming a landmine because it's feeling like if you wait too long then you're at the mercy of scalpers and grifters and "collectors" who think they can throw a loose cart of Super Mario 64 up on Ebay and get $50-$70 for it.
A part of me wants to slap on a tinfoil hat and say that this was a plan. Ten years ago, the used games market was the enemy for a corporation like Microsoft, because it was a method to get dirt cheap games without any of that money going to them.
And though they backed off from that after it publicly damaged the Xbox brand, they are still pushing very, very, very hard to move everything to digital where the used games market does not exist. The next generation of Xbox after the one we're on right now probably won't come with a disc drive at all for how much they push the all-digital Series S in the marketing.
How do you hurry that along? Turn the used games market in to "the collector's market" where those old games like Halo 2 are much more expensive and much less convenient than just buying a digital copy of The Master Chief Collection for $20 on the Xbox Store.
And make no mistake, it is more convenient. Speaking as someone who has moved into smaller and smaller spaces over the last seven years, there comes a very real moment where you have to get rid of pieces of your life. Being able to plug a single box in and have my 18 year old Steam account with 1500+ games certainly seems a lot more comforting on the surface than having to lug five tubs of plastic cartridges and game discs around everywhere I go.
But what if the unthinkable happens, and Steam shuts down some day? I cannot reliably back up 1500 PC games. What if it gets stolen tomorrow and I can't get access back? Is convenient always better? Like, yeah, somebody could break in and steal my retro games, too, but that's a lot harder to do than breaking into my Steam account.
And this isn't even touching on the complications of ownership rights, and how certain businesses are trying to redefine what it means to be a "service" because that allows them to bypass the ownership laws meant to protect people like you and me.
The reality is, because of space, price, and availability concerns, I only really buy physical games if they're meaningfully important to me. And if they're important to me to own on a disc, I usually end up buying them digitally too, just for the convenience of digital. The Xbox 4 might not have a disc drive but I'll still be able to play the digital copy of Sonic Unleashed on it some day, while also being able to pop that same disc in my old 360, assuming it still works.
There are forces at work here and as always their goals are to take more and more and more of our money away from us. They have discovered a lot of great ways to do that. Buying physical is getting to be almost a matter of protest at this point.

Minecraft: A short Essay on Nostalgia
I'm writing this rather late at night so excuse any spelling errors (Sorry it's not in MLA format, I'm not back in school yet and need a break)
I often find myself scrolling online late at night, stuck in the rabbit hole of youtube shorts, wondering how in the world I'll be able to function the next morning. Many times, the only thing that puts me to sleep on those restless nights, are playlists of "nostalgic" minecraft music. Why is that? Why is the music considered "nostalgic" in the first place?
Nostalgia is defined as making one think of or long for a familiar or comforting time. When I first received Minecraft back in 2016, I was still a little kid. I was in fourth grade and was longing to know what all the fuss was about. I remember booting it up for the first time, my sister sitting eagerly next to me. We only had one controller, so we had to take turns. In true older sister fashion, I did not share as I was supposed to. Eventually, though, I learned to share the game and enjoy what my sister created. I found that I was a natural at this game, I learned all of the mechanics with ease. My sister was not so lucky, she still struggles to fight in the game to this day. We spent many nights playing Minecraft. My mother worked the night shift at her work, and my father was always working on schoolwork to get his second degree. This left me and my sister to eat our spagettio's and play minecraft all night. I remember one night in particular, playing the "Little Big Planet" Mash up pack for the PS4 Edition of the game. We knew that nothing we did would be saved, but oddly enough we liked it that way. I was usually a creative player and my sister liked survival, though she wasn't very good at it. When we did play on a saved world, we would build massive cities and marveled at our own architectural prowess (Or, more often, the prowess of those we watched on youtube). I still have these old worlds, I visit them from time to time. I used to entice my sister to play with me by telling her I would do whatever she wanted me to in the game. This usually ended badly. Still, there are many old save files titled, "E's the Boss". I was young and simple, a stable built out of pink wool was just fine for me.
As I work with my therapist to uncover certain things about my past, I remember the nights that I would spend playing this game, desperately avoiding my bed time. This game, this simple game comprised of blocks and some funny red powder, had become virtually the only escape I had from the harsh reality that attacked me every time I left that infinite green wasteland that was a superflat world. Long before the aquatic update or the remodeled horses, I was building houses to replicate my own, creating worlds to escape the one that so vehemently tortured me each day. I remember, on the days that we were aloud to have the sound on on the TV, I would always play my favorite music disc. It was the one simply titled C4-18. I have so many memories attached to the music that plays in this game. And the only reason those memories mean so much, is because that is how I coped. Gen-Z, the silent generation, the generation that inherited all of the problems that everyone else was to stubborn to settle, has been left to our own devices to find some way to be happy in a world that revolves around hate. And for many children, including me, that device just so happened to be digital. We found some sliver of hope in the notion that we could still shape out destinies. The thought that we could choose to survive, adventure, or create was so enticing that we put hundreds of hours into buildings and bases, maps and achievements. On the occasions that we couldn't play the game, we would watch others play it. Roleplay channels like Little Kelly and Little Carly, mod channels like Unspeakable and Moose, Pat and Jen, even DanTDM, shaped out childhood. Often these channels exposed us to more mature themes through contact with more mature channels, such as Markiplier, JackSepticEye, and Pewdiepie. Now, we're all grown up. Many of us are going to college, getting jobs, some are even starting families. And so are our heros. Dan is a father, and Felix will be too. Mat has a son and wife, Pat and Jen split up, Jack has Evelyn, Mark has Amy. As we matured, so did our heros. And what does it al come back to?
A simple video game based on mining blocks, and using them to craft different blocks. I guess, what I'm trying to say, is that the Minecraft soundtrack is so nostalgic, because it takes us back to a *bad* time. It reminds us of when everything was going downhill, and all we could do is watch and hope we didn't get hit when crap went flying. Minecraft, for many of us, was our first step into healing, our first step towards maturing, and our first step towards becoming our own people, all be it far to soon. Minecraft music makes us cry, makes us feel this deep nostalgic sadness, because we don't know if we'll be able to find that again. We're grown ups now.. there's no one else to guide us, and video games can only take us so far. How do we know what to trust, what to watch, what to smile and laugh at..
We don't. That's the unfortunate truth of nostalgia. We don't have that wonderful thing, that guide to help us through the tough times. Now we are the ones guiding, building, surviving.. In a weird way, Minecraft prepared an entire generation of struggling kids with a blueprint for life. It's as simple as this:
Start your Journey
Find someplace you like, and settle down there.
Go on adventures, make friends, learn new things, and never go into the dark without a light.
And if it all comes crashing down...
respawn.
#minecraft#nostalgia#nostalgic#youtube#video games#gen z#late night rants#thank you for coming to my sleep deprived TED talk#I need to do this moe often#it's like releasing all of my silly little internal thoughts into a wonderful void#It's nice when the void shouts back.. unless its in Minecraft#then you should be aftaid

People born between 1985 and 1995 are the most unique generation of all time. Here’s why:
They are in-between two generations: the one before the internet and technology took over and the generation after.
The generation before us was old school and believed in working hard. The generation after us believes in working smart.
We saw it all: Radio, TV, Mario, Waptrick, Nokia, Nintendo 64, Samsung, iPhone, PS4, Tape, CD, DVD, MIXit, MIG32, Netflix, Snapchat, Emojis, and Virtual reality…
The generation before us can be scammed with simple emails asking for money and offering love. The generation after us knows it’s better to have four emails: one for serious stuff, social media, financial transactions and one for experiments for things you don’t trust
We are the generation that knows tradition and question it… picking from it what makes sense to us. The generation before us knew no questions. The generation after us knows no tradition.
We are the gap between the industrial age and the internet age. We understand both sides from experience. We should be running the world! The old guys don’t understand what’s going on anymore; the new guys don’t fully understand where what’s going on came from.
Anyway, please bring back Warped Tour 😭

On the 24th of January, seven years ago, Resident Evil 7: biohazard was released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One (Released as Biohazard 7: resident evil in Japan).
Set in Louisiana, it follows Ethan Winters as he searches for his long-missing wife in a dilapidated plantation occupied by a disturbing, infected family, solving puzzles and fighting enemies. The game emphasizes a first-person perspective, the first mainline game in the series to do so, marking a departure from the series' traditional third-person style, intense atmosphere, and diverging from the more action-oriented Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, returning to the franchise's survival horror roots with a shift towards psychological horror, emphasizing exploration.
The team took inspiration from the 1981 film The Evil Dead, scaled back the game to one location, and used a first-person perspective to immerse players.
The game received generally favorable reviews and was considered a return to form for the series; critics praised the visuals, gameplay, story, innovation, and uses of virtual reality, but the boss battles and final chapter drew some criticism. By June 2023, the game had sold 12.4 million units. It was nominated for several end-of-year accolades.

Virtual Reality Gaming Platforms: Transforming the Future of Gaming
Virtual reality (VR) has revolutionized the gaming world, creating an immersive experience that transports players into fantastical realms and lifelike environments. Unlike traditional gaming, VR provides players with a 360-degree experience that feels more like stepping into a game rather than merely playing it. This article explores the evolution of Virtual Reality Gaming Platforms, the leading platforms available today, and the future they promise for gamers worldwide.
The Rise of VR Gaming
VR technology has been around for decades in various experimental forms, but it wasn’t until the 2010s that it started making significant strides into mainstream gaming. Companies like Oculus, HTC, and Sony were some of the first to recognize VR’s potential and began developing hardware and software to bring these immersive experiences to life. As a result, VR gaming platforms have become more accessible, with technological improvements enhancing graphics, motion detection, and affordability.
Leading VR Gaming Platforms
Several companies dominate the VR gaming platform landscape, each bringing unique features that appeal to different kinds of gamers.
Oculus (Meta): Perhaps one of the most recognized names in VR, Oculus (owned by Meta) offers a range of VR headsets and platforms that appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers. The Oculus Quest 2, for example, is a wireless headset that allows for immersive gameplay without needing a high-end computer or console. With titles like Beat Saber, Half-Life: Alyx, and Vader Immortal, Oculus offers a diverse library that includes everything from action and adventure to horror and fitness.
HTC Vive: Known for its high-quality display and room-scale tracking, HTC Vive has been a favorite among serious VR enthusiasts. The Vive Cosmos and Vive Pro series provide an immersive experience through high-resolution displays and ergonomic designs, offering precise tracking and motion-sensing capabilities. HTC Vive has also partnered with platforms like SteamVR, giving users access to thousands of VR games across genres.
PlayStation VR (PS VR): Sony entered the VR gaming scene with PlayStation VR, an extension of its PlayStation console lineup. Compatible with PS4 and PS5 consoles, PS VR offers gamers exclusive access to VR versions of popular franchises, such as Resident Evil and Gran Turismo. While the platform does require a PlayStation console to run, PS VR’s integration with these iconic games makes it a favorite among console gamers.
Valve Index: Developed by the company behind the Steam gaming platform, Valve Index is one of the most advanced VR systems, known for its impressive field of view and finger-tracking controllers. Although it is more expensive and requires a high-performance PC, Valve Index delivers unmatched quality, particularly in popular titles like Half-Life: Alyx. The platform’s integration with Steam provides users access to one of the largest VR libraries available.
Future Prospects for VR Gaming Platforms
The future of VR gaming is bright, with technology advancing rapidly and interest in VR gaming at an all-time high. Emerging technologies like haptic feedback suits, omnidirectional treadmills, and eye-tracking will further enhance the VR experience, making it feel even more immersive. Furthermore, cloud gaming and 5G connectivity are expected to address current limitations, such as the need for powerful hardware, by enabling VR gaming on mobile devices or through streaming services.
With the global VR gaming market projected to grow substantially over the next decade, major gaming companies are expected to invest even more in developing VR-compatible games and refining the technology. This expansion is likely to make VR gaming accessible to a broader audience, eventually establishing VR as a mainstream gaming format.
Metaverse Platform for Virtual Events have fundamentally changed how we interact with games, offering experiences that were once the stuff of science fiction. As companies continue to push the boundaries of what VR can do, it’s an exciting time for gamers eager to explore new dimensions of interactive entertainment. The evolution of VR gaming is not only a testament to technological innovation but also a glimpse into the limitless possibilities of the gaming industry’s future.

Mengapa PlayStation VR Semakin Diminati?

PlayStation 6: Release Date, Pricing, Specs, and More
Sony’s PlayStation series has long helped the gaming industry reach new horizons, and now, all eyes are on the next big thing: PlayStation 6. But can it change how we play video games? Back in 2020, PlayStation 5 revolutionized the tech industry with its high-end features, including ultra-fast SSD, 4K graphics, and fully redesigned controllers. And as we look ahead, PS6 is generating even more buzz among developers, gamers, and industry experts, making it one of the most anticipated technology gadgets. Accordingly, the following article explores everything we know so far about Sony’s next gaming console and the rumors surrounding its release date, pricing, specs, and more.
Expected Release Date for PlayStation 6
At the time of writing this blog post, there has been no official announcement regarding the console’s release date, but there are many speculations based on previous patterns. Traditionally, Sony releases a new gaming console every six to eight years. So, the PlayStation 6 series release date should fall somewhere between 2026 and 2028. However, industry analysts and other gaming experts suggest that Sony may break this pattern, especially considering the ongoing success of PlayStation 5. Jim Ryan, Sony’s Former CEO, explained how the company may prioritize extending the life cycle of its current console rather than rapidly moving on to the next.
Rumored Features and Specs of PlayStation 6
Building on previous experience with earlier Sony consoles, the PlayStation 6 will likely offer significant upgrades in performance, graphics, and user experience. Here’s what we can speculate: Hardware Expectations: PS6 will probably feature more processing power, likely from a custom AMD chipset, accompanied by enhanced ray tracing technology that helps the console deliver more realistic graphics and faster load time. Virtual and Augmented Reality Integration: With PlayStation VR’s growing popularity, Sony will likely expand its commitment to virtual and augmented reality technologies to offer an even more immersive experience than the PS5’s VR setup. AI and Machine Learning: AI technology is becoming increasingly integrated into our lives. With its rapid advancements, it could lead to smarter in-game environments, adaptive gameplay, and more realistic non-player characters (NPCs). But that can’t be all. Given that Sony often starts discussing new hardware well in advance, rumors and leaks will likely intensify as the PlayStation 6 release date approaches.
Design and Build of PlayStation 6
After our experience with the PS5, Sony will likely aim for a smaller, more compact console to stay competitive while catering to what consumers want and what the gaming world needs. Additionally, PlayStation 6 will likely have a minimalist, eco-friendly design that focuses on sustainability as global attention shifts towards environmental concerns. Recent reports suggest that Sony might adopt recyclable materials in its manufacturing process. The company aims to limit its impact on the environment by reducing its carbon footprint. Finally, the company has world-class designers who always deliver outstanding design and build capabilities, and PlayStation 6 can’t be an exception.
Game Library and Compatibility of PlayStation 6
PlayStation 6 will definitely include exclusive Sony titles, continuing Sony’s tradition of high-quality blockbuster games that showcase the power of its new hardware. According to rumors, developers are already working on new titles tailored for the PS6 that can leverage the console’s enhanced gaming capabilities, particularly in terms of graphics and performance. Additionally, the backward compatibility feature has been a major selling point for the PS5, and fans expect Sony to keep this going or even expand it in their next series. So, PlayStation 6 will likely allow gamers to play PS4 and PS5 titles on the new console, ensuring a seamless transition for players while preserving their existing game libraries.
Controllers of PlayStation 6
Sony shifted from the traditional DualShock controllers on PS4 to the highly innovative DualSense controllers on PS5, which were widely praised for the new features they packed. With haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and the slick new design of the DualSense controllers, Sony had much to offer back in 2020 and will most likely build upon this success. Accordingly, PlayStation 6 will add more features to the controllers, including touchscreen controls, advanced haptics, and motion tracking, designed to improve the VR experience. Finally, some rumors suggest that Sony might even introduce the next generation of DualSense Edge controllers, which gamers can customize and swap parts.
Pricing and Market Strategies of PlayStation 6
With the rising costs of gaming hardware, many believe that the PlayStation 6 will be priced higher than its predecessors, which is not surprising given the features it might pack. The PlayStation 5 launched at $499 for its standard edition, and experts figure the PS6 should retail at around $599 or higher, depending on its hardware and technology. However, this could raise concerns about whether the console will be affordable, which could lead to options like financing plans or bundle deals to make the PS6 easier to get for gamers. Ultimately, we can expect the PlayStation 6 to come in various models with multiple storage options and performance capabilities, similar to the digital-only and standard editions of the PS5.
Final Thoughts
The next generation of Sony’s gaming consoles is already shaping into an exciting and innovative piece of technology that could take gaming to new heights. From upgraded hardware and better gameplay to new designs, better DualSense controllers, and AI integrations, the PlayStation 5 will likely have a lot to offer. So, stay tuned as Sony continues to unveil more details about the PlayStation 6 in the following years, and prepare yourself for the next evolution in PlayStation gaming. Read the full article

The rise of Tech Generation
People born between 1985 and 1995 are the most unique generation of all time. Here’s why: They are in-between two generations: the one before the internet and technology took over and the generation after. The generation before us was old school and believed in working hard. The generation after us believes in working smart. We saw it all: Radio, TV, Mario, Waptrick, Nokia, Nintendo 64, Samsung, iPhone, PS4, Tape, CD, DVD, MIXit, MIG32, Netflix, Snapchat, Emojis, and Virtual reality… The generation before us can be scammed with simple emails asking for money and offering love. The generation after us knows it’s better to have four emails: one for serious stuff, social media, financial transactions and one for experiments for things you don’t trust We are the generation that knows tradition and question it… picking from it what makes sense to us. The generation before us knew no questions. The generation after us knows no tradition. We are the gap between the industrial age and the internet age. We understand both sides from experience. We should be running the world! The old guys don’t understand what’s going on anymore; the new guys don’t fully understand where what’s going on came from. Anyway, please bring back Warped Tour

Professional Work
In addition to the various personal and side projects I've worked on over the years (some shared here, and plenty more locked away), I have also worked in industry as a professional Game Engineer. Let's take a moment to look at some of the more interesting projects and my contributions to them.
youtube
I had the opportunity to make significant contributions to a wide swath of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach (FNAF: SB) during my time at Babaroga. My work in Unreal Engine included solutions in both the 3D (most Security Office challenges, Fazer Blast, etc.), 2D (all secret arcade games), and user HUD parts of the game with additional contributions to lighting, cameras, level design, and AI. I was also lead on implementing achievements, both backend (Steamworks and PS4 Dev Net) and frontend (game triggers, additional hidden content, etc.).
youtube
After FNAF: SB, Babaroga formed a three engineer team tasked with porting Not For Broadcast (Unity) to multiple Virtual Reality platforms (PSVR, Quest 2, Index, and Vive). My work on this project included implementing the VR and input backend systems (not the frontend physical interactions) for each platform’s unique hardware and software requirements, along with completing countless gameplay improvements and fixes.
youtube
At one of my earliest industry positions, I was the lead game and UI engineer at Barrett Technology, a robotics company creating physical rehabilitation hardware and software. I built their entire Unity development framework and the vast majority of their content from scratch. Nearly everything you can find in this blog post is something I either built myself or heavily modified. This included developing a number of tools that handled common behaviors and integration with other programs so that external developers could focus entirely on making content. I would also regularly manage interns and their creations, upgrading their initial rough concepts into something that felt “right” to play with appropriate physics, haptics, and controls.
Most recently, I have had the opportunity to work with Dartmouth College on multiple aquatic robot simulators in Unity. This fascinating work has primarily been focused on converting equations from whitepapers into code so virtual sensors in Unity can replicate real world behavior. I also provided a workflow that will allow researchers to take real world elevation data and convert it to virtual landscapes without having to use complex and expensive software. Additionally, the simulators have ROS integration, allowing researchers to test their real world control software with virtual robots and sensors and limiting the amount of wasted time, money, and potential danger that would come from doing initial testing on real hardware in real aquatic environments.

MY VIRTUAL SINGER SONG TIMELINE
I wanna make this as a little story about my earliest connections to Vocaloid/Virtual Singers and how it all led me to loving them.
#1 Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!
Without a doubt, this was the first. All those YouTube videos and internet memes, it was the "Nyan Cat song" of course! But... in reality, it was actually a Miku song, but super sped up. I and many others wouldn't know, so my jaw DROPPED when a friend hovered over the song in Project DIVA, but that wouldn't be until much later. While this wasn't my true start, it would be a long journey.
#2 Senbonzakura and LOL – Lots of Laugh –
Maaany years later, and here I am! My first actual exposure to Hatsune Miku! I'd download a ton of 3DS demos to play, and Project Mirai was one of them. These two would be burned into my mind forever. I even remember going out of my way and searching them up on YouTube, and being amazed by the visuals on arcade/PS4!! I now understood the most basic concept of Miku; someone who sings. I don't remember why I liked this though. I must have seen it as a cute game, with cute songs and fun visuals. But, that would be it. I'd eventually delete the demo, forget about the songs, and move on... but not before...
#3 Kagerou Daze
The first song I encountered on my own! I discovered it while looking at videos of Senbonzakura and LOL, so this was around the same time as that. It was this animated one in particular that I saw the most! I believe I did see the Project DIVA music video, too. I just found myself so enthralled by this, it was so different from the cutesy songs I was just listening to. It was such a heavy feeling song, but the pacing made it so fun to listen to. A feeling that would return later... I listened to these 3 songs a lot, but yeah, I just stopped and didn't really bother looking for more.
#4 Tokyo Teddy Bear
Once again, more years would pass, but this was it. I was having a VRChat session with friends, and one of them put on some virtual singer songs. I didn't really care or pay any attention to them, and just chatted or drew. That is until they put Tokyo Teddy Bear, the Kasane Teto cover. I completely stopped what I was doing and just stared. It was like my friend's voices disappeared and all I could see and hear was this song... and it's visuals. And when it ended, I asked my friend to play it again, and again. It was kind of funny, as they pointed out how I looked just standing still and staring. He showed me some other Teto songs, like Teto Territory and that Fukkireta song.
Afterwards...
I was OBSESSED with Teto. My PFP, reaction gifs I'd send, and non-stop talking for about a week straight. I was so happy to find something I liked this much. And that's when my friend showed me Project DIVA Mega Mix+!! I've come full circle. From there I liked even MORE songs, and after a day or two of him showing me the game, I bought it alongside the DLC, and bam. Vocaloid/Virtual Singer lover forever. Got Project SEKAI, downloaded Project DIVA and Mirai on my PS Vita and 3DS, and got a few merchandise.
I've never felt this obsessed with something in a long while, I think my last thing was Persona 3 back in high school. It's really fun though!! Listening and finding all sorts of new music, seeing the music videos, building my playlist, sharing it with others. I definitely skimmed through a bit, but music means a lot to me. And this form of music is just so amazing to me, a near endless supply of songs to listen to. It makes me so happy. Even the most depressing songs make me happy, because I have something to listen and connect to when I'm down. I love using music as a coping skill !!!!!!
Thank you for reading if you did!!!! This is more of a personal post for me to save >_< My love for this will keep growing :3
