my hermit tcg cards arrived and i’m so excited and happy!! i got a signed joe card as well as his holo card, which i’m ecstatic about!! i also got the gorgeous holo xisuma card and all 3 different etho cards (common, rare and holo) which made my ethogirl heart very happy.
(also the collectors edition that came with my order belongs to my sibling because we shared our order to save shipping costs, and since i drew a signed card they got the collectors edition card.)
my sibling and i each got 1 starter box and 2 booster boxes and we've been having so much fun with building our deck and actually playing the game (i have also already destroyed my sibling in a game with the power of time skip)

HermitCraft TCG: Booster Box 2nd Printing!
VintageBeef, Creo, and the Hermits have been working for the last few weeks to figure out how to get y'all more cards so you can build your HermitCraft TCG decks for head-to-head play, so I'm excited to finally be able to share details about the upcoming second printing of the HermitCraft TCG booster boxes!
Here's the details:
The pre-order window for the second printing will run from December 15th–January 15th.
There is no cap on the number of pre-orders we can print, so if you're desperate to expand your collection, skip the scalpers and order from the source!
The second printing boxes will be the same price as the first printing ($50 USD), but will also include an additional pack of item cards to help y'all assemble playable decks easier.
Cards will now include rarity indicators printed on them to help players following certain deck-building rulesets to determine if their decks are tournament-compliant.
The second printing will fix an error with the common FalseSymmetry card, so if you have a first-printing copy of that, hold onto it!
Other than those two changes, there won't be any changes to the art from the first printing.
The Hermits won't be signing any 2nd printing cards before they're packaged, but I hope you'll consider meeting up with us at gaming conventions and card shop events so we can sign some in person for you!
If you'd like to be reminded when the pre-order goes live next week, you can sign up for the waitlist on Creo's website.
To learn more about the process of creating the HermitCraft TCG, check out Beef and my Pax Unplugged panel, HermitCraft TCG: Physical Blessings of a Digital World!

Ok so I LOVE the Vault Gods and I'm already going crazy from the Hermitcraft Vault Hunter series, so here are my headcanons for which of the participating hermits will find favour with which gods, and why. This has nothing to do with their play styles btw this is entirely guessing based on vibes:
BdoubleO100 - Clock boy will worship clock god. Wendarr loves time. Can't wait to see him build a temple to Wendarr outside the vaults.
EthosLab - Tenos. The man is a loot goblin and the promise of treasure will be irresistible to him. This also makes VH! Bdubs and VH!Etho into Loot&Scoot
FalseSymmetry - I was originally going to say False would go for Idona but I actually think False is more of a Velara kind of gal?
Hypnotizd - I'm feeling Idona for Hypno. Seeing him in the first vault he was so focused on Killing he completely missed mining up four different ore POIs... in part because he didn't know they were treasure!
iJevin - Speedrunner go fast. Wendarr.
ImpulseSV - I watch Impulse a lot but I'm finding him hard to pin down! Currently thinking he might be drawn towards Idona for the shard shopping? Or maybe Wendarr because yellow.
Iskall85 - In his other SMPs Iskall usually seems to be drawn towards Velara I think, but here he seems more Wendarr or Tenos aligned? Maybe it's just because he's using the early episodes to help his friends find their footing with the vaults and the gods? But let's be real - Iskall is too ingrained in the vaults themselves to fully belong to any one god over the others.
JoeHills - I feel like Joe is incredibly Wendarr aligned already, not least because of his philosophical musings on the way time passes differently in vaults.
Rendog - Do you think Rendog the bloody handed king will be able to pass up the worship of a god like Idona? For real? Like Bdubs, I expect to see a temple built outside the vaults.
StressMonster101 - Stress is giving either Velara or Idona vibes to me, mostly because of Muscle Vaults I think. Either health or strength, you know?
VintageBeef - Beef is building a battle royale arena for his card game on hermitcraft, so his friends can fight to the death to get better cards instead of buying them from him. Idona.
Welsknight - Wels has played Vault Hunters before, and is always asking questions. I feel like Tenos is the knowledge god? So Tenos to me.
xBCrafted - XB went in to the first vault with no healing? Velara worshipper already if you ask me.
Xisumavoid - X took time in the first vault to gather blocks for his base, both at the beginning and at the end of his run. This is SUCH a Wendarr move to me.

Beef’s Hermitcraft TCG Tabletop Simulator mod is finally out for all your card playing needs!
Here it is!
Tumblr media
As a Hermitcraft fan, and a regular card game enjoyer, I've been really itching to be able to play Beef's card game (and I’m sure some of y’all are too), so I recreated it on TTS to be able to play it! And now you can too!
Thanks to the help of some very talented folk I managed to get the look I wanted for the mod! I've included all the cards Beef has shown so far on his Hermitcraft Season 9 series! Including all 60 Hermit Cards (26 Common, 26 Rare, 3 Ultra Rare, and 5 Error cards!), all 42 Effects, and all 20 Item cards. The mod also includes a Type Weaknesses chart, Rules and Startup Rules, and a "What can I do on my turn?" guide.
I want to thank the following people for their amazing help in getting the mod to look as polished as it does:
- VintageBeef, of course, for the inspiration, and all the work he’s put into developing this game!
- @pickersonpaints on tumblr for the wonderful recreation of the Hermit card backgrounds! and for helping me sound off ideas for the mod! I wouldn’t have finished it without him!
- Hoffen for their amazing Hermit renders! Check them out @ink-ghoul
- @spacedorito49 for the original Hermit Card backgrounds!
There's 10 starter decks pre-made for quick playing. Or if you're feeling like going more in-depth, the whole spread of cards is available for you to build your own deck!
Don't sweat it about having to remember 60+ Special Moves and Effects, all cards that have a special effect have a built in description when you hover over them!

I got my Hermitcraft TCG cards today!
I ordered the game box and the booster box, and when I opened my second hermit pack I got a very funny, very Grumbo/waffle duo surprise, the first two cards were a mumbo and a grian! I ended up with 2 grians in total actually, a rare and a common.
Tumblr media
The first hermit pack I opened had the common grian, as well as common Bdubs, Ijevin, Impulse, Iskall, and a rare Zedaph. The second one,the one with the grian and mumbo, had (of course) the rare grian and common mumbo, as well as common Keralis, common False, common Etho, and common Doc.
I haven't actually opened the other booster packs yet, since I was so excited about the Mumbo and Grian put together (as they should be) that I wanted to post about it.
My game box was also pretty cool, I love the TCG coin, it's heavy in your hand and just is pleasent to hold, I liked it so much I even showed it to my mom and am considering using it as a grounding object for my anxiety/ptsd.
My special collectors edition card was a Hypno, and funnily enough I also got the same Hypno in my starter deck.
Tumblr media
the rest of my starter deck consisted of a holographic Rendog(!), a common (and very cute, with a guest appearance by her IRL dog) Geminitay, a common cleo, Stress, TFC, Iskall, and the man himself, Vintagebeef. The other cards in the deck are great too, just not as important to me as the hermit cards.
Tumblr media
I seriously cannot understate how much I like this coin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't normally buy merch, or post about it, but I'm so excited about these cards. I don't think I'll get to play a game anytime soon, since I don't personally know any other hermit craft fans IRL, but just having the cards is cool. There was also cool creo sticker in the box which I'm thinking about sticking on my tablet case.

Hermitcraft Season 9 Retrospective
Across 3 versions and nearing the span of 2 years, HC9 has been an absolutely delightful and awe-filled experience. A summary and retrospective of Hermitcraft Season 9, and a personal introspection of how this season has affected me over the years. Words: 1099 Read Length: 5mins 30secs
Like many, Mumbo was my introduction into Hermitcraft - I started watching a bit way through "Sixfinity" and the absolute scale of the projects then blew me away. I honestly didn't think they could pull it off better, just so many fantastic builds over such a long time that it would take a monumental effort to beat it.
Boy was I wrong.
I watched Mumbo bumble through the start of the series, with him, Scar and Grian blasting their way through the diamond war and move out of the rampaged starting area - I began watching Scar as Scarland unfolded in all of its monumental glory, but I really only preferred watching Mumbo.
And then he went on break.
Previously I thought it was insane that some people watched so many members - how do you have so much time on your hands? But when every single member of the server spends so much time and breathes so much life into their builds, their projects, and their community, you can't help but stop and stare (Decked Out aside - Scarland and Pearl's gorgeous alien base are the two most astonishing builds I've seen in my life).
Not only did Mumbo taking a break encourage me to watch other hermits, but there was also a melting pot of individual projects and community events: The King and its following war (where I started watching the Soup Group more often, and my now-favourite hermit, Pearl), the Rift, Stat Poker, TCG, the Prank Wars (again), Decked Out, and lately the Hermitcraft Grand Prix. The community events went above and beyond in entertainment and creativity, and also displayed the fantastic organisational skills (especially Rendog and Grian) needed to create collaborations of such scale.
Again I must sing Decked Out 2's praises - it may as well be one of the most impressive feats built mostly by one person in survival Minecraft. I've watched so many of Tango's streams - through him, I've both seen a different side of the hermits I'm familiar with (congratulations to Pearl for beating decked out), and saw the best side of hermits I don't watch often (Hypno is such a fantastic and intelligent runner). And our other highly detailed all-season-project card-deck-based not-so-mini-minigame this season - VintageBeef's TCG - was also turned into a real card game! Both bringing hermits together hermits to play the game, and commissioning so many fantastic and dedicated Hermitcraft fan-artists to draw art for the IRL cards, Hermitcraft TCG was no doubt a hallmark of the community, both with the hermits and fans.
And to the "hermit-adjacent" series, honourable mentions go out to: 1. The thrilling and murderous Life Series (which had THREE seasons during S9!) 2. The fantastic Imp & Skizz podcast (Impulse is now a part of my "hermit-rotation", and fingers crossed for Skizz in S10!) 3. The Hermitcraft Recap which I've sat down and watched during my breaks at uni every Monday (both catching me up with the members I don't watch and also saving my sanity)
One thing I would like to talk about is TinFoilChef, who passed away last year. I honestly didn't believe it happened. I very rarely watched him on occasion, and he never really appeared in the people who I watched's videos - a true hermit in every aspect of the word. I've seen the neatly lined mines in the previous seasons, spreading out like tendrils just underneath the surface of the beautiful builds - a functional, cacophonous, and sprawling web of mines dug out by hand, invisible above ground but ever-present.
Season 10 will be the first season without him.
It's been a while since he passed. He reminded me a bit of my father, and him just being gone hit close to home. I just assumed he'd be on Hermitcraft forever, somehow. I do thank you, TFC, for your laughter and your boisterous presence. You'll be sorely missed, and Hermitcraft will always carry a piece of you with it.
This season alone has spanned many of my personal milestones - it started in my final year of high school, some of the emotionally roughest times in my life, and has stayed with me through the first year of university. It's seen me graduate, get a job, file my taxes for the first time, go to my first anime convention, make a Twitter and Tumblr account, make friends, lose friends, and comforted me throughout. There's something special about coming back after a rough day, falling apart at the seams, and being able to put on some smooth music as the most gorgeous monument you've seen gets constructed in front of your very eyes. There's something comforting about knowing that no matter how many firsts or lasts I'm going through, and how scary it is, I can always turn on a video by someone I love watching and turn my brain off for a second. Having this exciting (thanks Decked Out) yet confidently unending (thanks, Decked Out) was some stability I really needed in my life. Having Hermitcraft - the server, the game, the community - to always come back to, and spinning stories out of funny little block people during times when everything felt so serious and talking to friends was overwhelming, made my life that much better.
Overall, like Season 9, this retrospective is nearing an end. I've definitely missed some things, the biggest of which is Xisuma's Vanilla Tweaks and otherwise commitment to the server, but otherwise here's a quick recap of my personal highlights of the season:
Here's the hermits I started watching this season: Pearl, Bdubs, Tango, Gem, Impulse, Grian, Scar, Zedaph, and a handful of Doc, X, Cleo, and Ren. 14/26 - that's over half the members! For someone who's only been watching one hermit for 4 years beforehand, that's a feat for me.
And here's my favourite moments and events: • The entire run of Decked out • The entire run of TCG • Doc's Perimeter • The entire server covering Doc's Perimeter • Any moment where the hermits have just come together and hung out (Waiting in minigame lobbies in particular) • Pearl, Bdubs, and Scar's absolutely magnificent and artistically wonderful megabases • "This time on Hermitcraft - Me!" by Pixilriffs during the crossover • Hermitcraft x Gamers Outreach charity stream (where they hit the goal before the stream even started!) • All Zedvancements
My love goes out to the Hermitcraft server, its members, and its community; here's to wonderful Season 10, and a well deserved break for all the hermits.
