Vincent Yaxley

Vincent is the son of Aymon Yaxley and Florence Haywood. He is known to be gullible, distrusting, Irrational, vengeful, Crass. He was sorted into Ravenclaw House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Short Bio: Vincent grew up in a very strict household. He and his younger brother were beaten by their father constantly being told that they were worthless and a waste of space. However, when the opportunity came for Vincent to go to school and get some distance from his father he agreed to go. Not that he had much choice since his father would have made him go anyway. However, no matter how much he hates his father he still seeks his approval and acceptance. He is also one of the few that help Matteo carry out his darkest deeds. He is also bipolar.

Vincent's face claim is Liam James. This role is open.

He was sorted into Slytherin like his father and was made Viscount Yaxley when he turned 25. His godparents are Nadia Erbland and Jesse Seymour @gcldensnitch

Alexandra Victoria Yaxley – b. 1908

First daughter of Laurent and Primrose, for a long time she was the apple of her mother's eye: she was witty, loving, feisty and had a strong sense of family and duty to her family. She was a small copy of Primrose, which delighted her father. She was sorted into Ravenclaw and was top of her class, always getting all Os. Her godparents are Niamh Kelly and later her husband @unfortunate-arrow

Lenore Callista Yaxley, b. 1911

Lenore was everything her father would've been if he had been a girl: temperamental, cold-headed and with many layers, she was the only of her sisters who never married, which kind of relieved her father. She was sorted into Slytherin and excelled at her grades, though she wasn't as brilliant as her older sister Alix. Her godparents are Roxanne Haley and her husband Gabriel Sapieha @beloved-bucky @slytherindisaster

Aster Indigo Yaxley, b. 1913 (@slytherindisaster )

The apple of her father's eye, she was feisty, witty, funny and caring, and the one who was closer to her father, the Lord Yaxley before he went to fight the Great War. It was thought that the Viscountess and her husband would not have any more children, for the Viscountess was then a woman of thirty and two, considered a risky age to have children. Her godmothers are Almira Iverach and Lord Yaxley's oldest sister. She was sorted into Gryffindor and was an excellent athlete and Seeker, much to her father's pride. Her godparents are Almira Iverach and her husband, Anthony, much to Viscountess Gray's chagrin @cursebreakerfarrier @gaygryffindorgal

Gia Estelle Yaxley– b. 1917

Gia was a surprise and blessing to her parents. Conceived during a visit of the Viscountess to her husband, who was starting to lose faith and will to live under the coldness, hunger and boredom of the trenches, it was what motivated Lord Yaxley to keep fighting and come back home alive no matter what. The Viscountess always teased how she resembled her maternal grandfather, the former Lord Gray, who had passed away some years ago. Highly intelligent, emotionally intelligent and fierce, she was the baby of the family and it is said that Lord Yaxley had a hard time accepting any suitor for her, for he deemed her too good for this world. She was sorted into Hufflepuff. Her godparents are Gwen Archeron and Siobhan Llewellyn @kc-and-co @thatravenpuffwitch

there's a really funny thing that i had never seen anyone talking about, and it's how some really random characters from harry potter are related. and how it's all because of blacks. phineas nigellus to be exact. 

phineas had 4 sons and one of them was arcturus II. he married lysandra yaxley, who's most likely an aunt to corban yaxley (death eater who imperiused pius thicknesse and head of dmle in dh). they had three daughters (the original black sisters lol) - callidora, cedrella and charis.

callidora married harfang longbottom. she was born in 1915. there is a possibility of her being neville's great-grandmother, but the timeline would be a little bit tight (frank was born somewhere in the 60s, probably around marauders, so his father would have to be around 1935). it is indeed possible, but she could also be just neville's aunt. if the first option is correct, then neville is blood related to blacks, if not then he's distantly related through marriage.

next daughter is cedrella who was disowned for marrying a blood traitor septimus weasley (which is an interesting thing i also want to discuss). and yes, she's the mother of arthur and his siblings. which makes a possibility of neville and ron being actual cousins. 

the last one is charis black who married caspar crouch. looking at the timeline (she was born in 1919) and the fact that she's stated to have one son and two daughters, most likely barty crouch senior is her son. which makes barty crouch jnr her grandson.

so, arthur and corban are cousins, barty and arthur are cousins and there's 50% chance barty cruciatused his own cousin and 50% chance for his distant relative. and the same chances go for bellatrix cruciatusing frank. and bella and barty are cousins too. and arthur fought his cousin's husband.

also, ernie macmillan is blood related to sirius and regulus black - their grandmother is melania macmillan, most likely ernie's aunt.

and marcus flint, millicent bulstrode, vincent crabbe are all cousins to draco. ursula flint is phineas' wife. that makes marcus related to most of blacks. ursula's son cygnus II married violetta bulstrode, making millicent related to blacks. violetta's son pollux married irma crabbe, making vincent related to blacks. and pollux's granddaughter narcissa married lucius malfoy making draco related to blacks. so yeah, draco watched his cousin's death). and it makes three of them distantly related through marriage.

arthur and molly are interesting case. arthur's mom is black. we know that molly is prewett, but prewetts are related to blacks - ignatius prewett married lucretia black (orion's sister). ignatius is also percy's second name. they are either cousins or just related through marriage as lucretia and ignatius could be molly's uncle and aunt.

and i think this fandom has serious problem with understanding the difference between being blood related and related through marriage. being blood related is when two people have one the same ancestor. the example is draco and ron (and any of weasleys sibling) - phineas nigellus is great great-grandfather of ron and great great great-grandfather of draco. they come from the same person. being related through marriage is when aunt/uncle/cousin marries someone else's aunt/uncle/cousin. it does not make you related to them as you aren't related to your aunt's husband or whatever. for example: draco and harry. dorea black is pollux black's sister (draco's great-grandfather). he is blood related to her but he isn't blood related to her husband charlus potter. same for harry; charlus is either fleamont's cousin or brother. he is blood related to him but he isn't blood related to dorea. it's really funny because in real life no one cares about that and those people usually meet only at the wedding. but in wizarding world apparently is an important thing. "all wizarding families are related" does not mean they are all blood related, they are not everyone's actual cousins. they are all distantly related through marriage, they do not share any percentage of dna. so no, hinny and drarry are not cousins. 

it's really funny because if you all care so much that drarry and hinny are related, then can we talk about the fact that harry is related to salazar slytherin the same way?

harry is a descendant of ignotus peverell. his brother cadmus is an ancestor of voldemort, making our two enemies cousins. it also makes harry blood related (very distantly but still) to merope, morfin, marvolo. also, isolt sayre (founder of ilvermorny) is also harry's cousin - her mother is rionach gaunt. but gaunts were originally only slytherin's descendants, they at some point married peverells (but i'm sure it was still before isolt was born), so it does make harry (and rest of the potters) distantly related through marriage to salazar slytherin.

and i find it hilarious.

there is, but tbqh, it's incomplete - not all of the dark families have particularly relevant specialties, and some of them are just so minor that i haven't devoted much thought to them afjsgkhdjfkd

(note: i say family because there isn't perfect overlap between dark families and sacred 28 houses - lots of them *are* sacred 28 just due to the nature and longevity of the dark network, but some are too recent. all the ones here are sacred 28 but there are some others in the network who aren't)

here's a list of the ones i can share, alphabetized by family:

black: power manipulation and absorption

bulstrode: stone magic

crabbe: fire magic (i know vincent crabbe died because he couldn't put out his own fiendfyre, but come on, there had to be a reason someone taught him that spell in the first place)

gaunt: snake affinity

greengrass: plant magic

macmillan: mind magic

malfoy: celestial magic

mckinnon: soul magic

nott: mind magic (done VERY differently from how the macmillans do it)

parkinson: enchanted objects

selwyn: animal transformation. kind of the inverse of house gaunt - house gaunt are inhumanly tied to one animal, and house selwyn aren't particularly tied to any of them

yaxley: invulnerability

zabini: POISON HELL YEAH (the inverse of house yaxley. i haven't come up with a better name for it than 'poison')

you'll notice that some of these specialties turn outward, and some of them turn inward, but the key component that makes them dark is that there is some turning involved. dark arts don't really fit into the popular notion that one *does* magic, because they rest on the theory that one *is* magic, and that's also why several of the houses have specialties that mirror each other somehow - they're pulling on the same thread(s) from different directions

the black family specialty has the longest name for purposes of clarity about what it is, but with regard to the threads it pulls on, it's very much the simplest, because it only deals with magic. as a specialty, it's the least targeted, which is what makes it dangerous - narrowing down the type of magic you're dealing with is essentially a way of making it bite-sized so you can deal with it more easily
