Masterlist pt.2

The Gryffindor common room was quieter than usual for a Friday evening. Most students had ventured off to the Great Hall for an impromptu music night the Hufflepuffs had organized. You, however, had decided to stay back, too exhausted from the week’s classes to be social.

George Weasley had other plans.

He lounged beside you on the plush couch near the fire, his lanky frame stretched out as though he owned the place. His legs rested across the coffee table, and every so often, his knee would bump into yours. Not that you minded.

“I still can’t believe you didn’t want to go,” you said, tilting your head to look at him. “Fred’s probably making a fool of himself right now, and you’re missing it.”

George shrugged, a lazy grin spreading across his face. “If Fred’s making a fool of himself, someone’s bound to tell me all about it later. Besides,” he said, turning his head to meet your gaze, “I’d rather be here with you.”

You blinked, surprised by his honesty. “You’re not even going to pretend it’s because you’re tired or because the music was going to be bad?”

“Nah,” he said, his grin widening. “Why would I lie? I don’t care what we do, as long as I’m with you.”

You felt your cheeks heat up, and you quickly looked away, pretending to adjust the hem of your sweater. George always had this infuriating ability to make you flustered with just a few words.

“You’re ridiculous,” you muttered, though the smile tugging at your lips betrayed how much you liked hearing him say things like that.

“Ridiculously charming?” George offered, leaning slightly closer.

You rolled your eyes. “Keep dreaming, Weasley.”

“Dreaming about you? Always,” he quipped, his voice teasing but his eyes soft.

You shoved his shoulder lightly, but he caught your hand, holding it in his. His thumb brushed over your knuckles, and the playful atmosphere between you shifted slightly.

“You know I’m serious, right?” he said, his tone quieter now.

Your chest tightened, and for a moment, you didn’t know what to say. George wasn’t usually like this—he was the jokester, the one who made everyone laugh and kept things light. But right now, there was something vulnerable in his expression that made your heart ache.

“I know,” you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper.

George’s lips twitched into a small smile. “Good. Just making sure.”

The two of you sat in comfortable silence for a while, the crackling of the fire filling the space between you. You could hear faint laughter and chatter drifting in from the corridors, but it felt like the rest of the castle was a world away.

“You know,” you said after a while, “I always thought Hogwarts would feel like home eventually. But it never really did. Not until—”

You hesitated, your words catching in your throat.

“Not until what?” George prompted, his hand still holding yours.

You glanced at him, your heart pounding. “Not until you,” you admitted, your voice barely audible.

For a moment, George just stared at you, his brown eyes wide with surprise. Then, a slow, crooked smile spread across his face.

“You make everything feel like home too,” he said softly, his voice so earnest it made your breath catch.

You didn’t know what to say, so you didn’t say anything. Instead, you leaned your head against his shoulder, letting yourself bask in the warmth of his presence.

“Blimey,” George said after a moment, breaking the silence. “If I’d known you felt this way, I would’ve skipped all those prefect meetings ages ago to spend more time with you.”

You laughed, swatting his arm lightly. “Don’t ruin the moment, George.”

“Never,” he said, a mock-serious expression on his face. Then, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “This is one moment I’ll never forget.”

I need an AU where Malfoy gets blasted by a spell that gives him a head injury that makes him forget his family ties and influence. (Like the Dwight Office episode where he gets a concussion and is nice to everyone lol) As the school year goes on, Malfoy spends more time with others outside his house and actually feels joy and happiness for the first time in a long time! He starts to think that maybe the golden trio isn’t so bad after all…

Then, finally, he stumbles across a reverse hex to undo his injury in the restricted section (thanks to Hermonie’s recommendation ofc).

Secretly undoing the curse in fear his new friends might not want the ‘old’ Malfoy back, he struggles to push his family influence aside.

After undoing his curse, Draco tries complimenting Hermonie in hopes she knows he likes her, but she only chalks it up to the curse and doesn’t realize he’s being genuine.

i. plot drop

the date is 22 / 12 / 2030. the sun has set on the winter solstice and darkness settles over the ministry of magic like a curtain falling — the conclusion of the final act, the ceasing of applause, and the end of all things. all is well. lights are out in the ministry and posts abandoned, save for a select few unspeakables who work in terse silence some nine levels below london. all across the city, wraiths and knights alike are taken by a deep and dreamless sleep that creeps in through open windows; a quiet thief in the longest, darkest night.  meanwhile, as yet unseen and unheard, death itself stands on the opposing side of the veil — a lonely sentinel whose charge has been violated beyond all reason. it brushes one bony finger across the whispering curtain, stirring up a thrum of excited keening at its very touch. here, the barrier is thinnest. here, it stands in careful contemplation. as it ponders, the air around the archway beyond grows suddenly thick and impossibly more still.  it is the quiet before the storm.   whether in gold or years or mortal souls, the ferryman will have his due. for without night, there is no day. without death, there is no life. pretending otherwise is folly —but is that not the cardinal sin of the living? try as they may to hide or to barter, there is always a score to settle. through the hubris of children, the hand of the the very primordial force they sought to cheat and evade has finally been forced.  death hums, and the sound resonates throughout the chamber as though coming from within the walls of the ministry itself. the thrilled chattering of spirits lurking beyond the curtain matches its cadence. the ground begins to tremble and the select few witnesses on the mortal plan are forced to avert their eyes as the curtain begins to fall inwards; once empty space forced into a vacuum of blinding light.  for a single moment, there is silence. then, the suggestion of a form approaching from some far-off place. and then another. the dead walk again en masse and in perfect form. they are vibrant, and they are real, but they will never again enjoy the peace of eternal slumber. they are equal parts promise and threat. death's voice, when at last it speaks, is sly and reproachful. "you wished to understand mortality? then understand it fully."

ii. plot points

22 / 12 / 2030 : the veil shatters and the dead return. the newly resurrected, once loyal to the dark lord, take to the streets of london to exact their revenge on wizards and muggles alike. no one is safe, and the erinyes, the knights, and the order must all band together to put an end to the violence.

25 / 12 / 2030 : the members of order of the phoenix host a christmas dinner at number 12 grimmauld place. they are joined by loved ones from both the land of the living and beyond; a glimmer of hope and a moment of peace and joy in these uncertain times.

31 / 12 / 2030 : amidst the chaos, the wizarding world's new years eve celebration takes place in hogsmeade. referred to as hogmanay, it is an annual tradition among the scots.

01 / 01 / 2031 : there is a feast at lestrange manor, where voldemort reveals his plans to use the newly resurrected as a means to his own nefarious ends.

never had you been so bored on a saturday.

with your friends all studying and theo not arriving at school until tomorrow after the summer holidays, you were truly bored out of your mind.

to the point where you had made a pillow fort onto of your bed.

with your curtains drawn around your bed you had draped a sheet over the top to truly enclose yourself and had strung fairy lights around the bed frame.

it took ages.

and by the time you were done with it you were actually very proud of yourself.

when you were younger your pillow forts never looked like this, mainly because you didn't have the skill to accomplish it, but it just made this one all the more impressive.

you had been curled up in it all day with a cup of coffee and a book that you had been meaning to get to for weeks but never found the time.

it was a truly lovely day.

and you had been undisturbed until the lights in your dorm room started flickering.

" stop playing around with the lights, it's not funny " you called out, assuming that pansy was just trying to get you out of your fort for something.

which really wasnt going to happen.

when the flickering of the lights didn't stop, you set your book down on the bed and balanced your coffee down ontop of it before popping your head out.

" what the hell is w-" you started but immediately cut yourself off when you didnt see pansy or any of the girls at your doorway.

instead, stood in your dorm was your 6 foot boyfriend still damp from the rain outside. he must have just gotten in.

" holy shit " you said, jumping out of your fort, catching yourself momentarily on the string lights around your four poster.

the lights stopped as theo made his way over to you to stop you from falling over.

the minute you were free you launched yourself into his arms, a bright smile on your face as you embraced the man you hadn't seen in weeks.

his arms wrapped tightly around you, lifting you from the floor as he did so, your legs instinctively wrapping themselves around his waist.

" what are you doing here? you weren't supposed to get here until tuesday " you questioned, not daring to move your head from the crook of his neck, instead choosing to continue imprinting his scent in your brain.

" i used the floo. my parents were being pricks and i just wanted to come and see you " he replied, his breath warm against your neck.

its as the mention of his parents that had you pulling back to look at him.

" are you okay? " you questioned, knowing the crap with his parents got to him quite easily.

" im perfectly fine, darling. but i'm here now, and i just want to enjoy some time with you before classes start next week. "

his reply caused your smile to widen even further.

" well then... " you started, lowering your legs from around his waist and taking his hand in yours.
