i feel like thr chances of seeing earth 42’s version of johnathan ohnn r astranomically high Cos in the ‘leaked’ boards of thennext movie it seems like gwen j everyone else are focused on damage control in 1610 , miles will probably need to find an alchemax in 42 to find his way back bc afawk gwen doesn’t know which dimension miles is in (but she knows where to start, which i think implies she’s going to sneak back to HQ and find out exactly where he was sent, maybe. b/c margo from what i remember didn’t see the screen that displayed the dimension number) . i just don’t think everyone will play a big role in miles’ escape from earth 42, bc there’s gonna be a lot of emotional/personal growth there that would be kind of smothered by their presence. i think seeing a different version of ohnn, the nerdy, introverted, anxious and picked-on ohnn who’s passion for science is fuelled by finding better versions of himself(clearly implied to be his motivator for working on the collider in the ATSV artbook, and strikingly similar to miles’ own motivation to study the same thing so he could be with his friends, the people he held in such high regard as both people AND as spiders— you could almost say he sees them as the ideal, the better versions of himself. either way, they both long for connection they feel like they’ll never find anywhere close to home. ) Will help him see spot as the truly damaged person that he is Who isn’t a bad guy at heart, but simply “didn’t know he had a choice” (miles’ own words about his uncle. he’s halfway there, he just needs that final connection between that statement and spot, who was dealt bad hand after bad hand and eventually really had no other course of action than to play the cards that he was given). and that would be the key determiner in spot’s defeat. he’s impossible to take down in terms of combat, and explicitly stated as intentionally written to be, but i believe he’s still reachable enough for a talk-down. we know when he’s face to face with regular people, he doesn’t want to hurt them . he goes out of his way to avoid it�� he wouldn’t lay a finger on someone standing right in front of him, but it’s the collateral damage of his actions that causes the most harm. the taxi that almost crushes bystanders on a sidewalk fell into a portal he had no control over, the collapse of the alchemax happened only after he disappeared, etc etc. the damage that he doesn’t see, or realize is happening because he’s always too caught up in what’s happening right in front of him, or in his own emotional outbursts. as abyss, his emotions inflame him to a size beyond skyscrapers, so high up he cannot see anything beyond his own suffering. he’s volatile, and he’s lashing out, but at his core he’s a regular guy who never had any support in his life, is more isolated than ever, respected by no-one, ridiculed and unseen by the person he deems responsible for it all, and is expressing all of that pain in a role he was never meant to fill , with catastrophic effects. i was falling asleep b4 i snapped awake 2 write all of this shit it’s almost 2:00 am im not going back to proofread tjis im going straigjt to bed NIGHT NIGHT

"at some point" heavens no, these idiots have been living rent-free (they would have it no other way) in my brain all year, and will continue at least until skeleton man shows up to steal christmas our hearts. and probably well past that. 👍 years from now I will continue to wake up to incredibly stupid doodles of them that I have no clear memory of drawing and have to debate whether or not they're fit for other people's consumption.

May I present, my attempt at illustrating the last four pages of Tevinter Nights. 😁 (Also, the first time I'm posting art on here!)

As the whole thing was quite literally too long to post on tumblr, I uploaded the full version on a customized site made for reading webcomics (via ComicFury). On a personal note though, I can't believe I actually finished it... As it had been a *very* long time since I drew (and finished) anything, let alone a 31 page comic and reading Tevinter Nights again finally sparked my motivation (and the courage to post it lol). So I want to thank Patrick Weekes for helping me overcome this massive art block and over two decades of Case Closed mangas for inspiring me how to draw an overly dramatic "exposing the imposter" moment. 😂 I tried my best to be as faithful to the book as possible and it took me forever, so... hope you like it! :D

steph and babs don’t need personas, as far as anyone is concerned they’re just family friends.

bruce has his “brucie wayne” persona, very clumsy, playboy, kinda air headed but still very smart and wants to do good for gotham. which of course makes him seem naive cause good?? for gotham??

dick has “richie grayson-wayne” who’s dabbled in modeling before becoming a gymnastics teacher. also very vocal about his “adorable little siblings”

jason never really had a “nickname” after all he was from crime alley and he had to look GOOD for them or else they’d go back to “he’s just like the rest of them”. his persona was very empathetic and kind though, which worked great for him since that’s how he was like. he always talked about doing several non profit charities. the elites switched their opinions of him on a dime, although the rest of gotham adored him.

damian refuses to go by a nickname. his persona is based around animals, mostly about abandoned animals. it’s very clear his goal for the future is to make good animal shelters and help every animal he can. it’s the only persona he could stomach and there were SEVERAL other ideas

cass is “cass wayne” very quiet, polite, generally just there in the background. normally hanging around one of her siblings, most often tim. although her being around him unnerves some of them, she’ll get a look in her face and then her and tim both know they were lying. they fully get why she hangs around tim

duke is regularly seen as the normal one. pleasant to be around, kind, but generally also just there. very normal student, not really sure what he’s gonna do. the elites don’t particularly for him, though the rest of gotham love him.

tim’s persona differs from the rest pretty heavily. he can’t get away with being like bruce, the elites vividly remember janet and see her in him very often, which vaguely scares them if they’ll be honest. he’ll act like “Tim Drake-Wayne” to unsettle them, after all he’s a Drake why is he acting clumsy? they’ve seen him when he was younger and he was the spitting image of perfect. it makes more sense to them when he trips and lands right where he can tell them something no one else can hear. “Timothy Drake” is what scares them though. the tim that casually whispers secrets no one else knows, who points out someone they’re supposed to have a “private meeting with” in a week. who has nearly cause several of them to go broke with such simple actions, and the only reason they didn’t was cause he let them stay rich. there was one elite who insulted damian near tim and suddenly said elite had to get an apartment in crime alley, pay his now ex-wife, a kid he had with some random person, and several debts

the fact that lex luther and tim are some kind of friends also doesn’t make them feel super great but that’s another issue

Luo Binghe pov fics that have him be amused or confounded by his silly shizun are the best actually. I know his rose tinted glasses of affection are basically opaque, but you cannot tell me the silly goofy wackiness that is shen yuan does not peak through and throw binghe off his rhythm at times. During his disciple days he definitely thought "he's so smart and yet so dumb at the same time. Is anyone gonna take care of him?" And didnt wait for an answer.

Bingliushen scenario. Was thinking about how funny it would be if one of the few times SQQ flagrantly utilized his sway over Luo Binghe, was in defense of Liu Qingge.

Like if some soap opera-esque series of contrived situations from the backstory arose and some god or something descended from the heavens like "actually I have a Plot Contrivance that says I can take Liu Qingge" (readers choice if that's in the sexual sense, the murderous sense, or the indentured servitude sense), and Shen Qingqiu upon hearing the matter through just snaps his fan shut and is like.

I see.

Binghe?

Unmake this fucker.

The emotional clusterfuck that would ensue. Luo Binghe does it immediately of course, like he's so incredibly into this but also it's only happening because of how much his shizun cares about Liu Qingge, which is infuriating but also he's kind of into it? But on a level he's struggling to define even to himself. Honestly it would be a lot simpler if he was just experiencing normal jealousy, but 0.2 seconds before Shizun told him to nuke that dude the idea had actually already occurred to him.

Then there's Liu Qingge's end of it. Furious. He's not a damsel in distress! Although actually despite his reputation as a war god, he probably wouldn't have been able to handle this alone. Which just grates even more. Except that it as Shen Qingqiu who so instantly and ruthlessly defended him. But he did so through Luo Binghe, who is currently dismantling the problem with the kind of sheer power and ruthless efficiency he rarely gets to show off, and Liu Qingge, despite everything, is not unaffected by the display. In fact he's so not unaffected by it that several things he's been trying to repress for a while now are becoming impossible to ignore.

In fact the only person who is being normal about this is Shen Qingqiu, who is just pissed. The non-pissed part of his brain is too busy thinking about the logistics of a war with the heavens to focus elsewhere. Yet.

After pestering him for days, you finally convince Dabi to pierce your tongue.

Beforehand, he’s taunting you the whole time saying “It’s gonna hurt really bad— are you sure you still want to?” getting a kick out of seeing you nervous.

However, once it’s time for the act, he’s surprisingly gentle as he tilts your head to face him just right and he directs you on what to do. His voice is soft, but stern.

“Stop moving.”

You start to realize how intimate this all is once he’s up close to you, lining up the needle. The two of you catch eyes for a moment, “Take a deep breath for me… and breathe out.” as he pushes the needle through, securing the jewelry in place. You blink a few times, not even realizing it’s over.

“Not so bad, huh?” he asks, putting aside all the tools while you look in the mirror.

You go to ask him what he thinks about it, but barely get the question out before he’s kissing you — something he was fighting the urge to do the entire time.
