had a dream where jerma was doing a stream involving a small pile of dirt with a bunch of earthworms. someone in the chat told him to eat one, and he was like "what!? no im not gonna EAT an EARTHWORM what are you fuckin-" and then he quickly grabbed the fattest fucking earthworm and slurped it like a spaghetti noodle making the most vile sound imaginable.

Something about the Baudelaires+the tragedies they face being associated with fire (the fire that destroyed their home, the fire at the Caligari Carnival, the fire at the hotel Denouement…) vs the Quagmires+their tragedies being associated with water (Duncan+Isadora being kidnapped+stashed inside a statue of a fish then later inside of a fountain, the Baudelaires finding Quigley in the Hinterlands surrounded by ice, Quigley+Violet having a key moment on a frozen waterfall, Quigley+the Baudelaires escaping via said waterfall, Quigley being seperated from the Baudelaires by the Stricken Stream, Quigley sending a telegram to Violet whilst she is in a submarine fully submerged in water, the Baudelaires almost reuniting with Quigley after travelling in the depths of the sea in ‘The Grim Grotto’, in ‘The Penultimate Peril’ when it’s revealed that Duncan+Isadora are in danger of drowning as eagles attack their self-sustaining hot air mobile home which is flying over the sea and,of course, all three Quagmire triplets becoming lost (in the sea) to the great unknown.

This is especially evident in ‘The Vile Village’ when the Baudelaires have just rescued the Quagmires who at that point were “two dripping figures” bc of the “rushing water” of the fountain they were trapped in which is then contrasted, merely one paragraph later, by the man who causes the majority of the Baudelaires troubles brandishing fire, “Detective Dupin, holding a torch and heading straight toward the Baudelaire orphans.” [evidence taken from pages 210+211 of ‘The Vile Village’.]

This could represent a number of things:

1: The Quagmires trying to help the Baudelaires like how water extinguishes fire.

2: The cold way in which Olaf uses the Quagmires solely for their fortune and his own sadistic purpose as opposed to his hunting down of the Baudelaires being fuelled by burning revenge.

It’s also interesting how Duncan+Isadora are associated with water whereas Quigley is initially associated with ice in TSS until he+the Baudelaires begin to rely on each other and then he is associated with water (the ice of the stricken stream cracking and Quigley being carried away with it). Due to this, there is solid reasoning to view water in asoue as a metaphor for friendship (at least in the case of the Quagmires).

Round 8, Day 3 - All Teams (but mostly Team Pretender)

The Avenger had heavily wounded him, the Wyrm had made no progress, and the Mors… well, the Pretender had expected them to struggle, he was actually surprised that they put up a fight against Alter-Ego. He watched as the Avenger shot out of the maw of the Abyssal Wyrm before it could shut, trapping him for eternity.

And, he thought to himself. Reflected over how the day had gone. Real introspective stuff.

"Go figure, when you force the conceptual wrath of the planet to manifest far away from the damn planet, it has a hard time manifesting. If we were in Britain, this would be a cinch... not whatever messed up virtua-planet we've been stuck on."

"Well, time for Plan B."

He spoke up, his voice echoing from the outside of the Abyssal Wyrm as it began to slow down.

"I give up."

The words hung in the air for a moment.

The rest of the Servants stared, still stuck in the destruction created by the Wyrm, dumbfounded.

"Can he do that? Ruler, is that allowed?"

"Well… Gunner attacked everyone and then simply returned as if nothing happened. So I suppose it isn't... unfounded."

"…That's true, I did do that."

"So… it's over…?"

"I'm not stupid. What? Do I just sit as a punching bag and then die? Not a chance. So, I'm going to sit out because I've been a bad boy, and I guess the Overseer can work on restoring everything to how it was, and then I'll join back in the fight normal-style."

"Wait, you can't just..."

"Byeeeee."

He vanished into shadow.

While I intend this blog to remain a largely news-free space due to the constant hellstate of the world, let me be clear that I stand in full support of both the Palestinian and Jewish peoples who are currently experiencing relentless hate and suffering in these horrid times.

I am disgusted at the number of people, especially "progressives" on this website who have used this situation to spread both Islamophobia and Antisemitism. This goes double if you dared to reblog those "punch nazis/fascists <3" and "[x] are welcome here!" posts while in the next breath spreading dangerous fucking narratives that kill people.

So many people in online political spaces evidently see this as nothing more than a case of picking "sides", when ultimately what matters is supporting the oppressed against fascist governments and militias, wherever they are.

Common people will always have more alike with each other than their leaders. This is not a novel concept. Your activism should always be motivated by love and compassion first, and hatred second. If you use your beliefs as an excuse to find an acceptable target to vent your hatred towards regardless of the actual material outcome, you are no fucking activist.

this article provides some excellent info on the situation. please notice how they're framing it- saying that "all new zealanders will be treated the same" is their way of saying "we don't think the oppressed indigenous people deserve special protection of their land and taonga". it is fucking nasty how they are reframing it as a positive thing for equality when they are simply destroying attempts at equity. it sssuuuuuucks and its bad and I would love for more people to know about it. the article also touches on the other shit things they're doing like forcing organisations to remove the te reo māori translation of their names, and withdrawing from the UN declaration on the rights of indigenous people.

Round 8, Day 1 - Team Pretender (THE ABYSSAL WYRM)

The massive form of the Abyssal Wyrm dragged itself forward. It bellowed, shaking the ground as dark, wretched flakes and bits of flesh sloughed off its form, hitting the ground and forming into vile creatures that skittered and spread like a virus.

Turns Remaining Until 'Lie Like Vortigern' is unleashed: [3]

THE ABYSSAL WYRM INFORMATION (ALL TEAMS SHOULD READ):

Rather than deciding who to fight, the Abyssal Wyrm can create hordes of 'Mors' to send after enemy Servants, engaging them in combat and intercepting them. Those attacked by the Mors are locked into a one-on-one battle, regardless of who the Servant targeted. The Mors deal 1 damage if victorious, and gain a flat 2% boost.

However, Servants can choose to target the Abyssal Wyrm in an attempt to reduce the damage it is causing.

If multiple Servants attack the Abyssal Wyrm, they will form into a 'coalition', and their bonuses against the Abyssal Wyrm will be combined. There is no limit to the size of the 'coalition'.

However, this may be a chance for other to sabotage their enemies as well. You're still able to attack your foes as usual, complicating combat situations and potentially using the chaos to get an upper hand and sneak in some damage.

For those on Team Pretender-- This is Pretender's Noble Phantasm made manifest. This means while Pretender himself lacks a Noble Phantasm, a new mechanic has been introduced. The 'countdown'.

When the countdown the Noble Phantasm 'Lie Like Vortigern' reaches zero, all enemy Servants instantly take two points of damage and the counter resets. However, the counter can be pushed back by one if a Servant (or Servant coalition) attempts to attack the Abyssal Wyrm and defeats it (or more accurately, survives against it) with a victory larger than 30%.

Additionally, if the Abyssal Wyrm is struck with a Noble Phantasm, the 'Lie Like Vortigern' counter will be reset regardless of the results.

The Abyssal Wyrm, as a massive conceptual being, cannot be killed. However, if the 'Servant Body' (Pretender) is pierced, then the Abyssal Wyrm will disappear and lose the fragile connection it has on this world.

The Abyssal Wyrm has one skill:

Anti-Human Order (D Rank) - A skill representing an incompatibility with mankind. When fighting against a Servant, they inflict a 5% demerit on their enemies. For the Abyssal Wyrm, this demerit increases by 2% the more Servants are in a 'coalition' facing it.

“You didn’t wait to see if there was anyone around, mon ange. Someone could have seen.” Lestat’s tone is calm and there’s still a soft smile on his face; he isn’t actually mad. 

“But they didn’t.” Louis opens his eyes to reveal his pupils fully dilated, leaving only a slither of a ring of green around the outside.

“I should have you punished for that, you know. You could’ve endangered us both.” 

A visible shudder runs through Louis at the mention of punishment. “We would have killed them too.” His voice is light and dreamy sounding, like he’s under some kind of spell. He glances around until his eyes land on the broken bottle next to him, Lestat’s reflexes kicking in as he holds him away from trying to drink the spilt wine off the floor. 

“Louis, what are you doing?” He asks, surprised by Louis’ action. 

“I don’t want to waste it.” Louis whines. 

“What. . .” Lestat cuts himself off and stares at him, utterly bewildered by his strange behaviour. Then the meaning of his words hit him. “That’s not blood, mon cœur, that’s red wine. Louis, are you alright?” 

Louis gives him a wide, fang bearing grin but his gaze doesn’t appear to be entirely focused. “I’m fine.”
