sorry but the one headcanon I do not believe for jayvik is them having kids. at most they adopt a teenager (as is Zaunite tradition) as like an apprentice. Jayce’s body count literally started with a child and the percentage of people he’s killed (accidentally or on purpose) includes more. Viktor probably killed like 20 plants using the hexcore for testing. in fact, the hexcore literally only saved one person and that person was him. they might hate kids they might love kids but those two are incapable of keeping anything but each other alive and even they’re bad at that.

After nearly 3 years since I created them, I finally show them. At least some of them! (Yes, there's more) (I dare you to take a guess of how many kids they have in total)

This are my interpretations of the meme template of "They look like their stupid other parent!".

I'm also trying to write about this, I have a deeply thought story of how each kid entered into their lifes. I'm just not a writter so I take my sweet time and almost never finish, I'M TRYING I SWEAR!

I'm coping so this takes in an universe where everything goes better than in the show (and my best friend forbidden me from making them suffer again). It's mostly like League's lore where the use of Hextech doesn't cause the end of the world.

Not going too deep into it because I'm planning on writting this so, here are the basics:

How are they biological? Jayce is trans and carried them.

Brayden was born in between Act 1 and Act 2 of Season 1, about 2 years after their first breakthru.

Chloe was born right around Act 2, Season 1.

With Nikolai I had to break the direction of the universe, because he is 5 years younger than Chloe (give me a break. This ages were thought before Season 2 was out lmao)

They got more kids, working on a similar post with them.

Let's see if I manage to finish them before I go to Brazil next week.

Was fiddling with Viktor's younger years, and got to this adorable scene with baby Viktor encountering a butterfly. He didn't know what it was and kept watching to catch it. But it kept flying away and his broken leg kept him from walking. He'd crawl in closer but again and again it kept flying out of reach. Baby Viktor got frustrated and tried to stand up only for his weak legs to buckle and he fell flat on his face.

His mother Natasha about had a heart attack in the middle of her sowing when she heard her baby screaming and crying. She cursed at herself that she wasn't well enough to catch him every time he fell. Honestly, it was getting to a point where she and her husband Zhivago thought Viktor would never learn how to walk. She consoled her son and set him on a soft pillow. She then took out one of her latest toys she had been working on and wound it up. It was a mechanical butterfly, one she could control where it flew or landed. As soon as it landed on Viktor's chest he held it close and never wanted it to fly away from him. Once he had settled, Natasha slid him into her sling to sleep while she carried on working.

She later told Zhivago he tried to walk. The grizzled blacksmith thought of an idea. He crafted a bounce swing to help his son develop some strength in his legs once he was out of the cast. Little by little he was getting strong enough to hold his weight. But his bad leg kept rotating inward, setting him off balance. The pair agreed he'd probably live most of his life with a cane. But the first day Viktor took his first real steps felt like a triumph.

As Blitzcrank is Arcane based and "powered" by Hextech/probable offcuts of the Hexcore.

They see Sky as their mother figure, and Jayce as a second father figure; so they will refer to them as Mother and Papa, respectively.

Viktor scrunches their nose a bit, a clear annoyance at the sheer level of entitlement demanded of them.

But then their eyes soften in that dangerous sort of way, and an eerie little smile plays on their lips as their shoulders ease back. It's as good as a threat.

"... Remembrance. Forget-me-nots. You can be clever enough to put it together. Typical, yes, I know. I'll not be taking critiques on it." They sigh and roll their eyes.

"I wanted it. I thought about it. I was desperate for something to hold, to see, to feel real. I thought that if I didn't forget, if I kept putting my nails into the wound and tearing it open, kept looking it in the face, I'd get used to the pain. I'd go numb and happy and it'd all fit together again. That's how it was supposed to work." They laughed. "When it didn't, I tried to forget instead. Makes more sense, because Vendetta's parents are so nice and gentle, and people writting them as an abusive and agressive seems to much cruel to both.

I’ve read pretty much all making fiends fics, and for some reason it’s a common thing for people to say vendetta’s parents were abusive (I read one where they were AGGRESSIVELY so) and that’s why she shrunk them

My silly domestic fluff headcanon that no one asked for is that Viktor (poor kid who most likely had to take care of his own needs alone as a teen/young adult, including looking presentable around rich people) and Jayce (mama's boy whose family probably wasn't wealthy enough to have servants) would do perfectly fine keeping house together. They can probably both cook okay (living on the Runeterra equivalent of instant ramen during the Hextech years was more about time/interest than skill). Viktor can probably sew well enough to mend/alter his own clothes including knowing basic repairs like darning socks. When he has a chance to create his ideal society from scratch we see that he fills it with beautiful architectural details and growing things. I can see Jayce getting really into baking bread for the stress relief element of it. Between the two of them, they can fabricate or fix anything mechanical.

Caitlyn (had servants for everything) and Vi (life trajectory went surplus of parental figures -> thrown in prison as a teenager -> living off booze and fight club winnings) are the couple who would set the kitchen on fire trying to make toast.

When you met Jayce Talis, you fell madly in love with him almost instantly—as did he with you. He baby-proofs your home with everything he can make—doorstops, locks for the cabinets and removing any of his work from his home to the lab so there are no accidents. It’s cute, but considering that your daughter is shy of two months old, the baby-proofing tends to get in the way, but you let him. ‘Father knows best’ is a term he coins and uses, much to your annoyance.

Jayce always splits the tasks of parenting between you two but is never opposed to taking on more than you if you need the rest. As you slowly transition to include bottle feeding in your routine, he takes on nightly shifts for you. You find him asleep a few times, sitting up against the crib with a blanket covered in spit-up draped over his shoulder and an empty bottle in his hand.

He is a sentimental man. He makes a locket that he wears as a necklace every day, tucked beneath his clothing, and shows it off to anyone that he can—a photo of you and your daughter inside it.

You swear you’ve never been more in love with Jayce than you are now. A loving father and husband who doesn’t let his new role as a parent overshadow his love for you.

He’s just as romantic as he was the first time he took you on a date. A month after you gave birth and were far too stir-crazy to be at home any longer, Ximena watched your daughter, and he took you out on a date that reminded you of simpler times. if you guys were to meet, it would be one of those silly meetcute things.

hear me out. you book a study room with your friends to study for exams, but none of them show. shame. one got sick, the other had to go home to see their parents or something. all in all, you were DITCHED by your homies

now. someone coordinating the rooms messed up. viktor had that room booked the SAME time you did! gasp! he just likes the space of the rooms to properly spread out his work.

anyway you were already in the room and he shows up. and just stands there. awkwardly. standing man emoji.

Under the cut, things I imagine in YOI pre-canon, with the ways my thoughts tie into canon to explain why I think them. These are personal headcanons and interpretations.

With Viktor, I imagine his family being high achieving, and Viktor having a lot of expectations on him. And he matches then successfully. But this means his parents think he's doing well, even in moments where emotionally he isn't. They look at achievements rather than looking at him. It's not intentional neglect, they just don't have the awareness of mental wellbeing. He has a bed and food and he's doing well in school and skating, so everything must be okay. It's fine when he's fine, it's lonely when he's not. And it's the first environment that teaches him to match himself to what's expected and wanted of him, fulfilling a role rather than just being.

When he's older, he quietly creates distance. Not cutting them off, but not reaching out. They don't mind. They follow news, and they can show off his success.

When he's young, Viktor loves having fans and being known and admired. Af first he doesn't see downsides to it. And then something happens, as simple as "did you see him throwing the flower at Christophe Giacometti? He was flirting, how cute" - and Viktor realizes his fans will draw their own conclusions and won't believe him if he tries to say they're wrong.

So he starts adjusting his approach. Building a persona, and building walls. Charming smiles that get him anything he wants. Practicing the skill of giving people what they expect. Being what they expect. And then flipping it on its head and surprising them.

If you're focusing on matching and subverting expectations, you're not necessarily being yourself. Any personal exploration of identity is hidden and alone. But on the ice, when he's performing, he can be honest. He can be seen. Because they're going to take it as fake. Think of how Minako reacted to Stammi Vicino - Viktor's earnest plea for someone to stay by his side, well, he's too charming for this to tug at the heartstrings. So he can play with stories that he won't share with anyone any other way, and he knows they'll take it as pretend.. The walls he builds don't allow him to be truly close to people. He has good relationships with other skaters, but emotionally keeps them at arm's length. He doesn't notice he's isolating. Chris and he have fun joke-flirting, but when Viktor steps away from the ice Chris doesn't seem to realize he needs this, isn't close enough to know what he's struggling with. He talks like Viktor is taking away the motivation he's entitled to by choosing to coach Yuuri. His rinkmates see him on good and bad days so they know when he struggles, and Yakov is the only person close to knowing him deeply, but even he doesn't take it seriously when Viktor burns out, so that is still limited.

For Yuri, I think his mother was going through a lot to let his grandfather take care of him. He has a lot of responsibility in that setting, and it all starts when he's so young.

I think, with Viktor being present in his life consistently from such a young age, Viktor is one of the people he sees as family. He absolutely looks up to him, just like he absolutely looks up to Yuuri. And I think he resents the emotional distance Viktor maintains.

He's not very attentive to people in general, but he's the one that explains to us how Viktor feels early in the show. When Viktor left to Japan so suddenly, I think Yura felt abandoned beyond just Viktor forgetting to choreograph a program for him. If it was just the program - he did end up getting Agape, he could have just asked for that, but he tried to get Viktor to go back. I feel like he hates that Viktor went to look for a way to get his spark back somewhere else, instead of staying and finding a way out of his slump with his rinkmates. If what Viktor needs is to coach someone, why isn't Yuri good enough? He's a talented skater and he sees himself as continuing Viktor's legacy, but Viktor chose someone else for that role.

And Viktor did choose Yuuri to continue his legacy. Because Yuuri skates so beautifully, because Yuuri has so much love for Viktor's skating, because Yuuri has drive and ambition and pride and skill and he finds joy in skating, and Viktor wants to nurture all of that into the performance Yuuri deserves to show.

And along the way, he learns how to connect with people as himself. His relationships with Yuuri and Yuuri's family open doors for him to better and deeper relationships with Yuri and Chris and anyone else he wants to be close to.

About Yuuri, there's very little I can say because we know so much. So I'll just share a lighthearted headcanon a few friends and I came up with as a story idea and I just adopted.

I don't share the fanon that Phichit got him into pole dancing. In my mind, he either started himself, or it was Chris - unintentionally. I think they're friends, because of how Yuuri reacted to him in the show, like he's used to him. And I like to think Chris kept saying things that made Yuuri feel competitive. Talking about how it's great for core strength, "but it's probably not your thing." Sent pictures of himself performing difficult moves, and got pictures back because Yuuri was trying to match him or do more difficult things than him. And meanwhile Chris thinks they're showing off to each other for fun. It's how Chris knew Yuuri can keep up with him at the banquet.

I still want to write something for that last bit.

jayvik headcanons because my heart is happy but also hurts.

these take place either in that special part of s1 act 1 where nothing went wrong with them yet OR in a special universe where nothing will ever go wrong ever <3

Viktor either talks endlessly or has periods of silence Jayce listens to every word and responds but also knows when it's just silent 'be together time".

Jayce talks a lot as well, but he'll start a subject, pause for a few hours, then continue on later as if he didn't take a break. Viktor fully understands this.

They are literally each other's worst hype man. the words "no, don't do that" have rarely been uttered in their lab. if they are it's about not eating/sleeping or something unrelated to science. these men are "yes, and" till the very end.

Heimerdinger laughs anytime someone is like "At least Talis has someone to calm him down now!" Because like. His assistant (who he should apologize to for not encouraging him more) is literally insane.

Jayce can charm the pants off of anyone in order to gain something, but only at a gala or function. Only works on the rich. He's gotten him and Viktor bigger labs, lots of funding, new things.

Viktor, however, either intentionally or unintentionally, gets free shit all the time from local owners/regular workers because his natural snark and calm demeanor (plus the looks and accent) have people eating out of the palm of his hand.

He's unaware his usual drink/breakfast order costs less then it should and is more portioned. A local bookstore owner gives him the best copies.

Viktor mentions Singed one time and Jayce was like. no wonder you failed lab safety three times. is like okay you're never seeing that man ever again.

Jayce is very artistically inclined. Musically or visually. He can sing (doesn't like to in front of many people) and sings often to only his mom, Viktor, and maybe Caitlyn. Has the best music taste. A bookshelf full of records.

Viktor is fantastic with kids to the point he has a mom fan club. (Some dads too). This is because he took over for a science lab for a week to help out an old colleague and by the end the back row was filled with parents just watching and listening because their kids were actually interested in school for the first time ever

Jayce....is awkward with kids. He likes them, but my man does not know how to deal. He likes babies because they're small and cute, will hold a baby all day. but toddlers and kids? what do you discuss with them? taxes?

both avoid older kids and teens like the plague though. it's understandable. have you meet a thirteen year old? scary.

Viktor didn't even notice until Caitlyn pointed it out (very coyly) that pretty much all the clothes and accessories he has are in Talis house colors. Jayce did it intentionally 100%.

Viktor wanders whenever theyre out traveling. Jayce blinks and suddenly Viktor is halfway up the road or a new item has caught his eye.

Modern Highschool Arcane AU headcanons !!

(Vi & Jinx)

Jinx and Vi are still teenagers, their age gap would be like 3 years in this AU, so when it's Jinx's freshman year Vi's already a Senior.

People were genuinely surprised finding out the little chaotic science geek and the sports-minded athlete were SISTERS since they were so different friend group and personality wise.

(Cait & Vi)

Vi is a jock! She does winter wrestling and she's the best in her weight group. She's also involved in fall and spring sports. Baseball and football are her other seasonal sports.

People know Vi to be just a sports junkie, she has pretty good grades but nothing exceptional.

She's not so great at science , which forces her to be tutored.

Vi and Cait met in their sophomore year, she needed some help improving her grade in order to be eligible for the spring season sports since she was failing history at the time, so Caits assigned to help her out.

Caitlyn’s a goody two shoes icl, like she’s apart of the student council and her mom’s the superintendent. She’s in ROTC and she’s so very loud about it, she’s basically the FACE of the program.

Cait and Vi get close because Vi keeps seeing Caitlyn around and she’s become sort of a hallway crush, but with her fuckboy attitude Vi tries to flirt the second she realizes that she’s somehow managed to get Caitlyn as her tutor!

Cait is used to people flirting with her, she usually brushes it off since she’s a man magnet. Vi on the other hand, is weirdly making her flustered? It’s strange, really.

Ekko and Jinx are the same age but Ekko's older by a few months so he brags about it.

Ekko D&D nerd. He dragged Jinx into it, she only complied since Ekko asked so nicely (he threatened her kindly)

Jinx isn’t into extracurriculars, did track in middle school so she’s exceptionally fast and she’s in the track and field team in high school but she skips practice A LOT but the coach lowkey needs her so she doesn’t get punished.

Jinx has straight A’s but she skips classes and has days where she just can’t attend class so she does some of her work online (it’s like 70/30) in person-online; she has accommodations in her 504 plan that lets her listen to music all the time and lets her leave class whenever.

Jinx is just a nickname that was given to her while she was a kid since every sports team she cheered for ended up losing (she only ever went since she wanted to see what Vi was up to) and she was Jinxing every game which DID hurt her feelings when she was like 6 but now it’s kind of funny since she doesn’t care for sports.

She’s slightly uncomfortable letting random people call her Powder now since she introduces herself as Jinx, only her closer friends call her Powder.

She no longer Jinxes games now though but it was funny while it lasted.

Ekko and Jinx have this weird rivalry-friendship-situationship where they ARE childhood best friends who back each other up but they refuse to pair up together when working on projects since they wanna see who can get better grades or impress more people.

Ekko and Jinx is like “the boy/girl next door” trope since they’ve been casually hanging just whenever since they were little itty bitty kids. So people kind of know Jinx as “that girl friend he’s always around” and Ekko as “that boy friend Jinx is always around” to their respective classmates and acquaintances.

Ekko and Jinx used to get the “wait you guys aren’t dating” comment at least once a month. (They’re not dating just yet)

Ekko is in the art club and has never considered doing a sport (Ice hockey has intrigued him more and more every year though) and he’s in a bunch of clubs to compensate. He established the D&D club, being in a little “green thumb” club for plant parents, afterschool computer-science club which is run by Viktor and Jayce. He’s got a pretty decent variety of friends because of it and larger social circle. He’s known to be this friendly little nerdy guy and people either love him or think he’s weird.

When Ekko doesn’t have extracurriculars to focus on he’s out practicing new skate tricks,

Ekko is the plant dad of the CENTURY, he has like 20 plants in his room, he’s nurturing a garden in his backyard and he has the prettiest bushels of flowers in the house. He’s got the greenest of thumbs.

Jinx has a black thumb and kills every plant in a 20 mile radius. No but seriously, when Ekko tried giving Jinx a plant to take care of as an attempt to bond, it DIED within a week. (She drowned it) and when he gave her an easier plant to take care of, she fed the thing rubbing alcohol and didn’t notice until it was DEAD.

Ekko asks Jinx to Hoco, that’s when they started dating. Everyone calls it like “oh my god finally” “you weren’t dating before?” Etc. it’s really cute but there’s minimal changes!! They just start like, kissing or something.

Why Isha is the Most Misunderstood Character from Arcane S2: My Headcanons

A/N: After doing Sevika, I really just wanted to write this in defense of my little sweetheart, because the hate train against her is just dumb and occasionally downright ableist in how some people talk about her being mute. As a HF autistic woman, that shit just disgusts me so here I go!

-First of all, let's adress the hate towards Isha for 'magically fixing' Jinx. It's far less magical then you think. Ever heard of inner child work? Jinx might not have been working the classic techniques, as Isha acted as a proxy for Powder instead. That scene of Jinx just drifting off mentally as she does Isha's hair, talking about how she didn't do that with Vi? It very much gives off the vibe that Jinx would have liked to do the occasional girly things wih Vi as a child and that her inner Powder finally feels heard in that moment. They had been together for months at that point, so I doubt that was the sole moment Isha allowed Jinx to work through her problems by Isha being a proxy for her past self. -Secondly, let me adress the common criticism that she has no goal or whatsoever and is just there to idolize Jinx. You should all take some media literacy classes. She's very clearly set up as a mirror to a young Powder AND Vi, so why can't you see the obvious parallels?! Jinx has become like Vander, a symbol for the undercity and their fight against oppression but she doesn't wants to fight anymore. Isha isn't pushing Jinx into a hero role because she's a fangirl. But because she HAS a goal. Like Powder and Vi, she genuinely wants Zaun to be liberated and is trying to encourage Jinx to get back in the game just like Vi tried to do with Vander! Whilst the circumstances leading up to that were different, Isha even gets imprisoned for trying to make a stand for the undercity just like Vi did. I don't want to be hateful like you guys but seriously, do you Isha haters really need dialogue THAT badly to point out the obvious? -Isha's lack of voice also refers to her lack of family. Whilst she could be mute because of disability, there is also the possibility of her never having learnt how to properly speak as an orphan, as well as the possibility she became mute through trauma. As a mirror, it's highly likely Isha's parents were also brutally murdered. With 2 of the 3 explanations pointing into the direction of her being mute due to being an orphan, it's statistically likelier for this to be the actual reason. -Which adds an additional layer of tragedy to her character. Because going mute through trauma as well as being mute due to being a 'feral' child, can be dealt with! People tend to get over traumatic mutism and whilst feral children missed some important milestones, Isha could still be taught to speak basic sentences with the right help. This seems to be highlighted with how Isha learns to stand up for herself and be more assertive. She's crawling out of her shell and just when you could catch a glimmer of who she could become, she dies. With Sevika now being in charge as part of the Council, the aid Isha would need to regain her speech are now available to the children of Zaun. It's heartbreaking to think about the future Isha could have had if she had just survived the attack on Viktor's camp. -With how desperate Isha was to have a family- just look at how quickly she attached to Jinx and jumped at the chance to also be with Vander and Vi, it's clear the girl was dreaming of a home. Which brings me to her intentions to her sacrificing herself. If she was that desperate and traumatized, then it very likely could be that Isha rather wants to die then lose her family all over again. The fact her song ends with according to translations, 'for this is good enough for me', seems to imply that these months of having a family was what she dreamt of for so long and she can go in peace thanks to Jinx showing her love in the cruel world of the undercity.

I don't know if you've written about this before, but I saw that you wrote a bit about Jayce's potential origins in Arcane. I was wondering if you wrote anything similar about Viktor anywhere, or what you headcanon his heritage to be? I know he was originally Evil Russian and is now vaguely Czech. Arcane leaves it extremely untouched, but I always thought it was implied his parents were immigrants based on the unique accent (not typical for Zaun or Piltover which basically means not American/UK based), and the fact that he even has an accent where Jayce doesn't (even though Ximena does). Viktor is such a narratively isolated character in Arcane that it's hard to rationalize him having a large interpersonal community in Zaun, which makes me doubt he belonged to like a specific cultural enclave, but I don't really know.

I vaguely implied his mother comes from Bilgewater in my catafalque fic i think, but that isnt a "country" so much as an island that got turned into an universal pirate all-purpose hub in the middle of the sea. Viktor’s deal is that he's inextricable from Zaun (as one of the establishing champions of that region, defining look and theme for so much that came later) but he's very much penned as an Outsider, alienated, etc. He was born here but he doesn't fully Assimilate, his disability and his accent detaching him from standards of normalcy.

My solution to this general conundrum is that his family originates from Somewhere Beyond. The continents and regions currently displayed in the league worldmap aren't the "entirety" of the world, just what the lore has explored so far. There are other places behind the dark spots of the map that we haven't seen yet! One big example of this being the birthplace of Nilah, the yet-unrevealed Kathkan region, which takes inspiration from south & southeast asia. (Nilah is specifically drawing from India, iirc.)

This map is also some centuries outdated, which is why you see Zaun's pre-colonization name (Oshra Va'Zaun) and some pieces of land that have since nuked themselves out of existence (Camavor has gone through a life-extinction event known as the Ruination, and records of its existence stopped circulating.)

In my head, somewhere beyond that border is where Viktor’s family came from, but since they were fishermen (remember Zaun is a harbor town) they eventually end up as part of Bilgewater's regular population, until his mother settles down inside Zaun, where Viktor is born. ta-da! The finer details and lorebuilding are up to the viewer, take your pick.
