Despite it being one of the seasons filmed in lockdown, Mice and Murder is one of my top favourite d20 seasons. It was funny, it was emotional, it had complex character dynamics and the mechanic of texting the players in secret (and them texting eachother) was fun. Plus so many other things about it.

This is going to surprise exactly zero people who know me but I’m two episodes into Mice & Murder and this might be my all-time favorite side quest like
Murder mystery already giving intrigue
Grant and Rekha’s insane sexual tension energy I haven’t seen since Game Changer Sponsored Episode
Relating way too hard to the vicar’s whole energy around full stop Christianity
Sam as a Texas oil Baron causing the entire party to recite the Pledge of Allegiance
Katie Marovitch
Ally Beardsley as a non-binary hulking dog person who is also excessively flamboyant and over the top
The minis being so cute
MICE
literally made to appeal to my entire interests

Day 2 of @underrated-d20-event! The themes for today were Mice & Murder and Flowers, so I decided to write about, imo, the most underrated MiMu PC – which is to say, Vicar Ian Prescott!
Grave Flowers (211 words)
Something was deeply, deeply wrong.
Vicar Ian Prescott just couldn’t shake the thought. Especially not as he watched the recently departed Mr. McCabbage’s coffin be lowered into the ground.
The coffin was empty.
Few people knew, of course. But he did. He knew that the police hadn’t found the body, that they had given up on looking after suspiciously little time. He knew that Ms. McCabbage was crying to an empty coffin – the best coffin she was able to buy, which is to say, the cheapest coffin she found on sale.
What had happened to poor Mr. McCabbage?
Some spoke of an incident. Few spoke of murder. Most didn’t speak of it at all – what a gruesome thing death was, after all.
Still, the Vicar could feel it in his guts, in the flutter of his feathers, even as he recited his prayer to the small crowd assembled for the funeral. Something was wrong.
The coffin was buried, but the truth was not buried alongside it. It had to be out there somewhere.
He could only hope it would come to light before the rest of his parish was laid to rest in this same graveyard.
He could only hope he would not have to pick anymore bouquets for the graves.

There are so many reasons to love 'mice and murder', but raph always makes me laugh when his mild-mannered vicar character looks at a double murder and sighs "everyone calm down, technically the danger has passed 🙄😩" like sir, that's perhaps a little less comforting than you wanted it to be 🤣😅🤣

I will get through every cast of characters and this stupid meme. I find it so funny for no reason. I can hear the words in their voices.

genre: murder mouse-tery (a mice and murder moodboard)
image description: a nine image grid, there is a bust of emperor marcus aurelius, some glowing orange mushrooms, a magnifying glass laying on a book, dark green foggy woods with two dark silhouettes, a bloody handprint on a gray wall, a cemetery, an old bank ledger, a crystal ball sitting on dark fabric, and a pipe curling smoke, end id.

mice and murder is genuinely so good and i desperately hope it gets another season or spin off or something. the murder mystery setting was so fun and players in that season really stuck to their characters which created super entertaining dynamics. i know some people don’t like the zoom seasons but this one is so good and used the fact that everyone wasn’t in the same room to heighten the genre and increase the sense of mystery! hoping and wishing there will be more in the future in some manner

tiny mice & murder sketch dump 🐭🔪
[IMAGE ID’S: the first image is a photo of a sketch book spread, with sketches of vicar ian prescott. one is a full body sketch, one is a shoulders up portrait in profile, and one is him as a regular owl. the second image is a black/white digital sketch of fletcher cottonbottom. it’s shoulders up, he’s in shadow with only the pipe in his mouth lighting up his face. there’s a speech bubble showing him saying “well well well, mister cross, in the flesh”]

Lucretia Brockhollow and The Case of The Missing Powders
Tumblr media
Lucretia Brockhollow’s investigative notes on the missing presents:
On Gangie Green: Could use the shovel to bury my powders…
On the connection between Daisy D’umpstaire and Buckster $ Boyd: In cahoots? Very suspicious.
On the (dis)connection between Daisy D’umpstaire and Detective Sylvester Cross: In divorce?! Oh my!
On the relationship between Detective Sylvester Cross and Sargaent Lar Vandenchomp: Partners in solving the crime or doing the crime?!
On Vicar Ian Prescott: Constance doesn't like him, but what would a priest do with my powders?
With the help of the spirits, will Lucretia Brockhollow find the true culprit who stole Christmas? Or is this holiday season doomed to despair and folly instead of jolly and holly?
second @d20exchange gift for @nameless-is-nameless <3 I watched M&M earlier in the year and it is so peak!!! i wanted to try making a christmas-themed caper, but then wanted to try something different :3
