I couldn't resist imagining what little Vi & Pow would look like as mini gods with their adult tattoos like Atreus. Also me being delusional imagining Warwick protecting them as part of Vander's shape shifting ability--

Also headcanon that Odin/Silco has mind control powers, hence Vi and Powder vs Warwick rip. He tears their family apart even in this AU 🫠

I thought her hesitating the entire episode and telling Cait to "take the shot" was basically giving away she is unable to actually kill jinx.

I'm quite sure her little speech was more for herself than it was for jinx. Trying to convince herself the lies she's announcing as her true feelings.

Not just that but she was pulling her punches the ENTIRE fight.

And then the one way out of seeing her sister's death was Isha's interference.

Immediately blew off Cait's shot cuz of harming the innocent. But also being given an immediate out from the fight. Using a reliable interference as a cover to not wanting to watch her sister die fr.

(Though im not saying it wasn't cuz Isha's an undercity kid, that def plays an important part. Jinx's eyes light up at seeing Vi stop Cait's shot.)

How it feels like for an entire season 1 of Sisterhood reduced and wasted to this:

It's like Jinx and Vi are completely 2 different people. Even before S2 got released the fact that Linke kept calling Jinx a "monster" (his scripts for s1 were rejected, btw; but this seeped into s2ep1 when Vi just reduced her sis to a "monster she created" without finding out more about her sister's condition. Like after 7 years.) when the real talented writers spent all that effort to create characters that are truly beloved for their contradictory nature (in which Jinx is clearly not just a surface level understanding of a "monster"), his off description of their relationship ("in s2 Vi has always been telling Powder what to do, blabla).. just shows his misunderstanding. Christian, have you even understood S1??? It's like S2 is a sad fan fic..

underwhelmed by the latest three episodes of Arcane,and scarred about the direction the narrative is taking?

they spent an entire season, Promising us that it was worth getting invested in the conflict between characters. That everything was gonna pay off and reward the viewers for their investment, only to have reconcile Vi and Jink right after Vi's ultimate, moral betrayal of everything she's ever believed, have Vi and Caitlyn make up off screen, introduce Vander as Warick only to kill him off immediately, have Jayce kill viktor in a conflict that was divorced from everything their relationship was built on (moral conflict based on the class divide who?), have Mel off doing god knows what away from the main conflict, and, to top it all off had the innocent child character die in a pointless act of self-sacrifice.

can't also forget that it looks like they're setting up Ambessa as the absolute villain.

how have they managed to hand wave away so many interesting plot hooks, and interesting, character-driven conflicts?

there is still a good chance the writers will bring it back, but man that was,,, something

I’m still bitter that they didn’t think it was important enough for Jinx and Caitlyn to have a one on one conversation with each other and then have them fight it out.

Does Jinx know one of the councilors was Caitlyn’s mother? Are we suppose too assume she finds out during the time jump, off-screen? Is that not important enough address to ON-SCREEN????

Why establish this entire arc for Caitlyn that starts with Jinx, but you don’t see the importance of them interacting?

I know Jinx is a genius and in the game she gets away from being caught by Vi and Caitlyn numerous times, but isn’t Caitlyn supposed to have these super, amazing detective skills? That’s one of her defining traits in the lore.

I find it hard to believe that not once could she locate Jinx in the span of those months.

Also, Vi and Jinx don’t even speak about Caitlyn at all. Sometimes the writing for both of the sisters gives the impression that they don’t even remember what happened in season 1.

Yes, I know she chose “Jinx” and accepted that they both changed, but she went from being very obsessive to acting like Caitlyn doesn’t even exist really quickly. What happened to her very severe abandonment issues?

Honestly the best way I can describe the 2nd season of Arcane is written by extremely competend writers who bit off way more than they could chew. Especially in that short of a timeframe.

It's possible that it was a higher up decision for future League shows, but the focus on the Black Rose & magic worldbuilding took away focus from the core cast and the narrative of 2 cities/sisters opposed to one another. They desperately needed at least 3 more episodes

The writers are competent, but they made some deliberate choices I don't like and pulled focus from things I believe they should've left in focus. It feels like the entire narrative of the show got changed between seasons, and maybe it was always the intention and I should rewatch the entire show front-to-back without a massive hiatus in-between them for me to get it, but from my current standing... It could've been more, and the things that they did focus on and give time to were really good. It's just that the show lost its priorities and primary narrative along the way
