Hellll Yeha tell me more about your atelier au! Is Stan a brimhat? Or is he a good law abiding witch? What happened to ford?
Tumblr media
I WOULD LOVE TO!! Also Same Hat with Witch Hat Atelier gravity falls au 🤝 Stan is not a brimhat! While he’s dabbled in forbidden spells and witch crimes he purposely wears a witch’s cap. This keeps him under the radar plus the Brimhats creep him out. He has never been a law abiding citizen! I don’t think it’s part of his vocabulary. and now onward to Stanford Pines!
After graduating and becoming a full witch he moved to Gravity Falls sets up his atelier there and looks into the magic of the small town. When he eventually came to a halt on his research he finds a cave painting of Bill just instead of the ritual to summon bill it’s the mind control sigil that at first just allows Bill into Fords mind and through some fun manipulation Bill convinces ford to inscribe a sigil on his witch cap that gives Bill full control. I drew out an idea of the mind control sigil, I took the memory wipe sigil from WHA with some creative liberties and added in the symbol for fire. During this time Ford becomes a full brimhat. This is after magic started becoming limited on who can practice it. Bill also convinced Ford to build a window/portal to where Bills been trapped. When he gets paranoid and contacts Stan he still tries to push Stan away leading into a fight causing Ford getting sucked into the window/portal. He gets trapped where Bill is trapped. The forest of mazes. It’s specifically built to keep dangerous people in like Bill Cipher. Hence why Fords never been able to escape. This also starts Stan’s development from regular human to full witch with the help from Fords journal and various books around his atelier. The journals play a very similar role. They are Fords research notes but as the journals progress and get more unhinged Ford also writes more on forbidden spells. When Stan finds out that Dipper has journal 3 he is really hesitant on giving it back to Dipper but trusts him and gives it back.
and some notes on this piece! ford was easier to come up with a design for because of how easier to it to change a trench coat into a witch’s robe. His current witch’s cap is made by Mabel :]. We also get to see younger Ford and Stan on the days they Fucked Up. I also started showing bits of Bill Ciphers abilities. Since the Brimhats are humans who used magic to become enhance their abilities and also the Big Bad Guy, and also also so far in my rereading of WHA there’s no mentions on demons or gods. So for Bill he’s just a Brimhat but a very charismatic Manipulative cult like brimhat
this is.. a lot of writing hope you enjoy my ramblings on my gravity falls au, Gravity Atelier AU. I like thinking and talking about this AU :]

I'm pretty sure my very first post about 'Fionna and Cake' was about pointing out this line in "Fionna Campbell"
Tumblr media
Is a reference to "I Remember You", where Marceline said that very same line to Ice King
Tumblr media
At the time I just took it as another little bit of Foreshadowing for the connection between Fionnaworld and Simon.
But now that we've established a bit more about Cake's plights, and I started thinking more about this... I wonder if this line is meant to highlight the ways in which Simon's struggles under the Curse of the Magic Crown and Cake's struggles after having her Magic taken away from her kinda mirror each other.
You know, turning into Ice King took away Simon's mind and ability to reason (by pumping his brain full of Madness and Sadness) and his ability to communicate (by tanking his already-kinda-awkward communication skills) and even kinda took away his body.
Tumblr media
And becoming an ordinary cat did all of these things for Cake as well - took away her mind and ability to reason (by giving her an intelligence closer to a regular housecat) and her ability to communicate (by making her unable to speak or even comprehend human speech)
Tumblr media
And taking away her voice and the Stretchy body that is clearly the one she feels most comfortable with.
Tumblr media
And ... so what happened in that scene back in IRY is Ice King, in the middle of writing a love song about Princess Bubblegum, suddenly has a moment of Clarity about how lonely and miserable he is. Enough Clarity to know that he's unfathomably sad and that there's something Wrong with him that's sabotaging all of his relationship - but not enough clarity to know what it is. So he just... has a total breakdown
Tumblr media
Lashing out and throwing ice magic anywhere. Then Marceline, uncomfortable and worried about Ice King's behavior, tackles him and says the Line.
Meanwhile, in the first episode of 'Fionna and Cake'...
Both Fionna and Cake feel like there's something off about their lives, But Fionna can at least articulate it better as like, general ennui or a quarter-life crisis, rather than Cake's little housecat mind not really comprehending or capable of fully expressing what she's feeling at all.
Tumblr media
Leading to concerning behavior such as her apparently not eating for the last three days.
And suddenly, she has her moment of Clarity. She sees these Portal Sparkles and she seems to know on some level that they'll do something good for her. Especially as she tries to shove her head in the ice
Tumblr media
And later is shown obsessed with ice in general - even without the sparkles directly being around.
Tumblr media
On some level, Cake understands the mechanics of the Portal Sparkles better than Fionna does - but on all other levels she's still a housecat and probably has no idea what is going on with her own mind as well.
And from Fionna's perspective she's just acting weird and spreading ice all over the house and lashing out at her in her confusion over her own feelings.
Tumblr media
I think, perhaps whatever part of Simon's subconscious has subtle control over Fionnaworld noticed the similarities between Cake's situation and his own memories of being the Ice King - and thus, Marceline's old words coming out of Fionna's mouth.
Tumblr media
The similarities don't end there, either. Cake and Simon both have to go through a lot grief with people still treating them as their old selves. General folks in Ooo treating Simon like Ice King
Tumblr media
And Fionna's tendency to be overprotective of Cake even though Cake is now an incredibly OP shapeshifter and Fionna's still just an athletic human
Tumblr media
And to speak for her even though she can speak for herself now
Tumblr media
And sometimes kinda condescending to her about her own judgement
Tumblr media
All make Cake feel, and not unjustifiably so, that Fionna still sees her as her old self, as a Housecat. She literally says so in the same episode where Fionna and Cake's friendship is tested the most.
Tumblr media
And Cake's anxious desire to bring Magic into her world even after it was confirmed that she can at least stay as herself in Fionnaworld, I think that's also a mirror of Simon's anxieties. Simon felt like he, an ordinary non-magical man, could never truly fit in within the wacky and magical world of Ooo
Tumblr media
And Cake might've been afraid of the same being true in reverse about being a Magical Cat in the least Magical world in the whole multiverse. At the very least she must've been worried about being forced to pretend to be a non-magical cat again like Simon tried to make her do back in Farmworld.
Tumblr media
(Remember how her failure to pull this off almost got her eaten?)
And in the end, the resolution to both of these mirror dilemma was... kind of the same? Well, sort of. Fionnaworld now has a bit more of the Magic and Weirdness in it but it's not like Simon made Mainworld Ooo less wacky. But even with that extra bit of Multiverse Wackiness going on in Fionnaworld now... if the Normal Guy can get along among the strange and magical creatures
Tumblr media
The Magical Cat can get along with all the normal and mundane people.

What do you think it means for corruption to overwhelm someone? Do you think Callum will die or will something else happen to him? Also I thoroughly enjoyed the podcast! (This is theinnermechanismsofmymindtdp but I refuse to link my main blog….)
That's a good question, and one I've spent time thinking about in terms of what a Corrupted S7 Callum would look like. (I lean towards something that directly changes his outward appearance during the possession, which is also a convenient short hand for stakes and thereby recovery when it fades.)
Part of the reason this is somewhat tricky is because there's roughly three Versions of what TDP considers to be 'Corruption,' and because the series makes all of these things regularly overlap with one another.
1) Emotional corruption
This is evidenced by someone who is changing for the worse, which is mostly tethered through Soren's dialogue. This can involve becoming a 'monster' (as seen through Viren and Runaan in S6) due to the weight of their 'sins'.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This of course ties into the series' most consistent form of corruption, which is Literal
2) Corruption through dark magic use.
Viren and Claudia get their literally corrupted faces (similar in nature to Runaan's in the life and death portal) and what made the turning point happen in Lissa and Viren's relationship. This is also symbolic of what scared Callum straight in 2x08 and what continues to scare him in 6x03 ("I did it, I'm ruined, it's too late for me, who cares?"). As Soren notes, continued and regular dark magic usage can change people, even if Claudia insists otherwise ("But I'm not evil, it's me, you know me. I'm still the same person"), but that Viren and most likely Claudia successfully come back from said corruption (and in Viren's case, that's not exclusive to never doing dark magic again, either).
I think it's worth noting that thus far the corrupted face (Viren's from coining Kpp'Ar, and Claudia's in killing Sir Sparklepuff) has come from using a combo of deep and dark magic through the staff, and directly out of acts of love (at least in theory for Viren).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soren also asks for and/or sees his family members change away from this form of literal, physical corruption as well, and we see that Callum's love for Rayla literally helps heal this corruption in him in S6.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3) Dark magic corruption through infection.
This is arguably the one where the previous notions of corruption are brought together, as Janai explains in 5x03:
Nearly a year ago we tried to reclaim Lux Aurea, but the dark mage's corruption was worse than we realized. It is like a plague. Dark magic infests the city. What life remains there has been twisted into monstrosities. [To Callum and Rayla] You don't get it, do you? We had to kill the infected! Our own people.
There's a few things to unpack here.
Dark magic corruption is being compared to a sickness and plague that infects and festers within. We also see this compared to Kpp'Ar's arm wound and other old wounds ("It is a wound that has been festering for a thousand years" 5x04).
Emotional corruption, bolstered by dark magic use, and corruption through infection can both turn people into "monsters". Both forms strip you of your perceived free will: the corrupted through usage monsters increasingly don't perceive their choices as choices ("I did what I had to do" / "I had to save him, I had no choice!" / "Finnegrin was going to kill you, I didn't have a choice!"). The corrupted through infection monsters are seemingly mindless killers, as Zubeia describes an increasingly complete loss of self (which is also what possession is):
Tis a scratch. A mere nothing. Oh, but it festers. Corrupted. Infected. Oh! I can feel my very being shattering from the inside out. I fear I'm losing everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her love for Avizandum (and Zym), signified by a glowing chest heart, also helps her come back to herself and leave the nightmare (Janai describing things as a nightmares, Aaravos using nightmares to manipulate Callum) behind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Under duress, you can be forced to kill these monsters in order to protect yourself, even if that means killing your own people / people you know and love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And last but not least, Amaya also tethers all this back to the idea of change (as we saw most prominently under emotional corruption).
Tumblr media
Janai wanted so badly to cleanse Lux Aurea, but we failed. The shadow monsters are dangerous killers. But even worse, just a single scratch
Tumblr media
The infected became corrupted shadows in a matter of days.
This consequence of "just one scratch and it's over" is now, of course, the exact same set of stakes Callum has been presented following the successful Star-light truth ritual if he ever does dark magic. If he uses it one more time, it's 'over,' and he knows that, in addition to knowing it'd open back up Aaravos' ability to possess him.
But beware, if you ever use dark magic again, the darkness and corruption will overwhelm you.
(Because I have followed a dark path. I had become a monster. I'm a monster. I fought you, I tried to kill you! He's leading an army of darkness. It's not every day you have an army of 10,000 monster soldiers. The human mage, already tainted by darkness. What if I'm on a path of darkness? Shadow monsters. What life remains there has been twisted into monstrosities. You keep calling it a monster.)
Much like how dark magic corruption through usage isn't exclusive from emotional corruption (they have a tendency to go hand in hand, but it's not synonymous because thus far Callum has been our exception), I don't think dark magic corruption through infection is exclusive from dark magic corruption through usage dark magic. All of them are associated with darkness; all of them can turn you into a monster; all of them are tied to losing your identity and your free will.
This is basically a very long winded way of saying I think Callum being overwhelmed with darkness and corruption may look like a combination of all three of them. While there could either be an instantaneous flip (which works well for drama and potential time crunch), there could also be a slow build (more similar to Zubeia, which could offer up more hope for a fix before it happens fully, even if I think the dragang would ultimately be too late because... it's more dramatic and we gotta get the possession fight, don't we?).
At the very least, physical appearance wise, I'm expecting a corrupted face, if not a fully corrupted form like the Banther. (Partially because it matches up with how the dark magic rune glows red, rather than purple, in Callum's dark magic 2x08 dreams).
Tumblr media
Post-corruption / possession / ordeal, Rayla (and/or Ezran) will somehow find a way to get him out of it and bring him back to himself. This is bolstered by her literally being his light to Aaravos' darkness in 4x02 framing wise, 4x07 dialogue wise ("Then take another path, dummy"), and 6x06 literally wise.
If he does die / Rayla kills him, I think it'd be temporary at best as while it'd set his slate clean, I don't think they'd do that a second time, and given that Callum now has to Make a Choice in order to be possessed, that works perfectly fine as him turning himself over to metaphorical death (Aaravos stripping away his identity) and literal in his mind (banking on Rayla fulfilling his promise). I don't think he needs a literal, physical one on top of it, but who knows.
If dark magic is a wound, it can be healed.
Tumblr media
If corruption is a sickness, it can be cured.
Tumblr media
If possession is a lack of agency, it can be restored.
Tumblr media
And if it's darkness, you can find the light.
Tumblr media
After all:

If you have been following me for a while you may have noticed that i really like the ¨hero-villain¨-rival dynamic that Danny Fenton and Vlad Masters have in Danny Phantom. I have made some posts about it and commenting about some of their scenes.
However, one thing i think i have never done is to make a post analysis about the reasons of why i like it so much and it is one of my favourite hero-villain dynamics.
In this post i'm going to go by different points of why i enjoy this dynamic so much and analyse how it works.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, one aspect that is crucial of Danny and Vlad's dynamic is how similar they are. They both used to be regular humans until they went through a portal accident that turned them into ghost-human hybrids and, as result, they have to hide their ghost half from other people.
They both used to be/are part of a friend trio with them having a crush on their woman/girl best friend. In Danny's case it is Tucker and Sam. In Vlad's, it used to be Jack and Maddie before the portal accident happened.
The main difference is how they reacted to their portal accidents and how their respective frienships changed after that.
After Danny got transformed into a half ghost, he decided to use his new powers to protect Amity park from other ghosts that went through the Fenton portal. He always does the best he can to help others even if he does makes mistakes.
His friendship with Sam and Tucker remained the same after the accident. He didn't get angry with any of them and didn't push them away. From their part, they accepted Danny for who he was, keeping his ghost identity as a secret and supporting him with any issue that he had to face.
Tumblr media
For Vlad... his accident was quite different since it was caused accidentally by Jack, who was his best friend. This left Vlad hospitalized for many years and having to deal with new ghosts powers by his own. As result he was consumed by desire of revenge of the person he considered his best friend and believing that Jack ¨stole¨ the family that should have been his.
While it isn't clear what happened during those years between Jack, Maddie and Vlad, there are some implications that Jack and Maddie ¨abandoned¨ Vlad and over time they married. It is possible that Vlad may have pushed them away from his part and later became obsessed with making the Fenton family his own.
In contrast to Danny, Vlad used his ghost powers to get more power to fill the void that came from the loneliness he had. He became obsessed with always being control, manipulating and tricking others, out of fear of being left alone and being hurt again.
They both are clearly intended to be foil of each other, with Vlad representing what Danny could have turned into had he followed a darker manipulative path and maybe if he hadn't had the support that he has from his friends and family in the series.
Another aspect i really like is how personal Vlad as antagonist feels, something that was intentional from the writers' part since he was created to act as a sort of an annoying family member that you can't rid of.
Tumblr media
Source: From an old interview of the series Vlad is often referred to as an "uncle" by Danny, usually in a mocking sarcastic way. Maddie and Jack consider him a very close friend (later mainly from Jack) and Jack often goes to Vlad's events to support him.
So, yeah, Vlad is a "very annoying uncle" that Danny has to put up with constanly and can't do much except throw sarcastic remarks when his parents are around.
Tumblr media
In addition to this, Vlad really knows how to get in Danny's mind and provoke him. He knows how to push Phantom's buttons and trick him into doing what he wants. He often teases Danny about how he is becoming like him, usually as a way to mess with him or persuade him into joining him.
One of my favourite exchanges is this is scene from "Reign Storm":
Vlad: Sneak attack, very good, Daniel. You're getting more like me with every battle. Danny: I am nothing like you! Vlad: Oh, you're not? Using your powers to get back at people you don't like? Throwing the first punch? You're more like me than you know.
The thing is that Vlad is right that Danny was using his powers to get back to people he doesn't like and "throwing the first punch". Masters was probably saying this to mess with Danny's head or making him believe that he isn't much different from him, which, to a certain extent, is true.
Another example of this is in "Bitter Reunions" when Danny tricks Vlad into making a truce with him if he doesn't want others to find out that he is half ghost. He uses this opportunity to see this as a "small win" since he "teached" something to Danny.
Vlad: Using your opponent's weaknesses against him. I am teaching you something after all.
This idea of feeling ¨personal¨ or knowing how to push the protagonist buttons is something that i wished to see more in antagonists from other series. It makes them more entertaining to watch. On third point, it is what Vlad's goals are in relation to Danny. In contrast to main antagonists you see in other animated shows, Vlad isn't out to destroy Danny. On the contrary: He wants Danny to be his son.
This comes from two things: One, thinking that Danny is the family that should have been his and was "stolen" by Jack after the ghost portal accident back in his college years. Second, from the extreme loneliness he lives in and the desire to have someone else who is just like him, a half human-half ghost, that being one of the main reasons he finds himself so lonely all the time.
Tumblr media
Many of Vlad's episodes involve him trying to make Danny his pupil/son in some way, either by provoking him, manipulating him or trying to break the relationships he has with his family. It's one of Vlad's biggest obsessions in the show.
It goes to such extreme methods that he starts a project to clone Danny. Something that takes him months and multiple attempts of watching clones disintegrate over and over again. This is explored in the episode "Kindred Spirits" where Danny finds out about this project, befriends Danielle -one of the clones- and destroys the whole lab.
Now, one thing that is interesting of all this is because Vlad has this obsession of making Danny his pupil/son, he has an emotional attachment to Danny, in the sense that he has a desire to protect him and help him if the boy is in trouble. Just like father takes care of his son.
This is more of a fanon aspect that is more explored in fanfics than in canon. However, there are some examples of this in the series, some being more clear than others.
The biggest one of this is in the alternative timeline from "The Ultimate Enemy" where Danny's friends and family die, Vlad takes care of him and decides to help Danny get rid of his ghost half to make him feel less miserable. Future Vlad also kept Danny's school bag intact for years even after that version of Danny transformed into Dan.
Another more subtle one is Vlad bringing a knocked out Danny back from the Ghost King's castle near the end of Reign Storm ( which was also to get on Jack and Maddie's good side).
There is also how Vlad rarely tries to go all out with his ghost powers against Danny and the implications that he could have got rid of the teen any time he wanted to in the show but he didn't.
Many fanfics involve Vlad saving Danny or protecting him from some powerful ghost enemy. This usually leads to the two characters working together to fight against said enemy. Other fanfics explore the idea of Danny getting scared/accidentally hurt by his parents when they find out that he is Phantom and him choosing to stay with Vlad until they both find a solution to the situation.
These fanfics potray Vlad as a bit more of morally grey character in contrast to the main series. Often while working together, both Danny and Vlad come to understand each other better and the story ends with them making a truce or Vlad starting a redemption arc.
In A Glitch in Time graphic novel, which is inspired by Danny Phantom fanon up to a point, has Vlad helping and protecting Danny in more than one occasion during the battle against Dan. They later fight together and are able to defeat Dan, separating him from Clockwork.
On last point, that has to do with the previous point, it is that there is a bit of tragedy in their relationship. The two are the only ghost-human hybrids in existence (If you don't count Danielle and Dan, the later being a fusion of Vlad and Danny). The two would benefit from helping and supporting each other, specially Vlad having more experience could teach Danny how to control his powers and guide him in cases he doesn't understand what is happening to him.
But, due to both clashing with their goals and Vlad not being able to let go of his past, they become bitter enemies in the series. They are constanly at each other's throats, with Vlad always coming up with some plan that involves manipulating the Fentons or leaving the city of Amity Park in danger.
In spite of this, after the events of ¨A Glitch in Time¨, they seem to be in better terms, with Vlad trying to make amends for all his past misdeeds and the chance of becoming somewhat allies in a near future.
To sum up: These are the main reasons i really like Danny and Vlad's rivarly in Danny Phantom. I like how complex it is and that it has different sides to it. In that regard it stands out to me from other hero-villain dynamics and it makes it one of my favourites.

Scratch-Todd Wraith foreshadowing list
-Scratch and Todd sharing the same voice actor (Dana Snyder) in one episode -Scratch and Todd sharing similarities in character design, mainly head and face. -Scratch and Todd often showing in the same scenes in some episodes from Season 1 -The fact that Todd is always seen more ¨dead like¨ than other human characters -Scratch talking about how Todd looks like he has ¨no soul¨ in ¨The Jig is Up¨ when he is talking to Jinx. This is one of the most explicit examples. -Libby's book from ¨Molly vs The Ghost World¨ explaining that there are two ways for wraiths to happen. One is when a human ¨gives up their ghost¨ and other in ¨also¨ that they can happen when they go through a portal. The other aspect that the book says is that the ¨wraiths can exist both in the human and ghost plane¨ -Scratch lacking a proper name like other ghosts -Scratch not being able to remember his past unlike the rest of the ghosts. This was going to be explored more with Ollie becoming the new Chairman in Season 3 -Scratch not being able to remember his death in ¨The Many Lives of Scratch¨, because technically he didn't ¨die¨ and became a ghost like regular ghosts do -Molly talking about how Scratch lived and died on Brighton in ¨The Many Lives of Scratch¨ -The monkey from Scratch's mind in ¨All In The Mind¨ resembles Todd. Scratch showed to be very scared of the monkey and avoid the topic when Molly asked him about it. -Todd giving away things that were shown in Adia's second flashback like pyramids and stars to Weird Larry in ¨The Internship¨. -While not as linked to the theory, the whole navy decoration that Scratch has in his dollhouse and him pretending to be captain in ¨All Shark No Bite¨. This has to do with his dream of wishing to travel with Adia and the games they played together as kids.

Almighty TATTRPGFT, I ask you what is a good fantasy ttrpg thats like a smidgen simpler than/tighter than dnd thats flexible and has individual character progression thats cool? (I am so damn tired of dnd and after I finish my lancer campaign I'm gonna try to run a fantasy thing thats about world hopping since my brain cant stick with just one world... I wanted to run OSR stuff but most of my players want to keep their characters longer than a couple sessions)
THEME: World-hopping Fantasy Games
Hello there, so I’ve got some world-hopping games for you that I consider all much simpler than D&D, although the way they cater to your players’ wants may vary. Now I’m personally biased towards Forged-in-the-Dark games if your characters want to hold onto their characters and explore all of their mechanical and narrative details, but I’m also hoping that folks will see this ask and suggest more fantasy games that give you cool character abilities - maybe you can even mesh some regular fantasy games with something else on this list!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Portal Rats, by Tore Nielsen.
Portal Rats is a stand-alone fantasy tabletop rpg, based on the Black Hack rules.
There is an unlimited wealth of worlds out there. Some are embodiments of ideals, some the product of a god's fevered will, and some who seem to have congealed from pure potential. In Portal Rats you can visit all of them.
The core mechanic of Portal Rats is a roll-below test, using a d20 against an attribute on your character sheet. You have six attributes that should remind your players of D&D, although the backgrounds of your characters are less about your race and more about what you did in the past. The rules of the game look to be pretty concise, with much of the 58-page book being different character options and character classes. You level up when you finish a mission or quest, which results in more hit points, and higher attributes.
This game is probably close to what you as a GM are looking for: it’s an OSR mindset, with very little that allows the players to hold onto their characters if a roll goes badly. That being said, if your players are attached to their characters, they might be able to bring out emotional and narrative elements regardless of the system. Therefore, even if you pick up something that is more similar to OSR, they’ll find ways to role-play.
Vergence, by Small Cool Games.
Within the multiverse are a few places of great power called Vergences. They are ruled by families bred for the ability to open portals between worlds.
You play a member of one of these empowered bloodlines. Your birthright gives you the capacity to travel across infinite dimensions and manipulate reality.
But you’ll need to deal with conflicts involving your own powerful and manipulative family, secret conspiracies, mystical enemies, moldering gods, terrifying monsters, ancient artifacts, and existential threats with the potential to affect all the worlds of the Umbra. And possibly your annoying little sister…
Vergence is a Forged-in-the-Dark game that really amps up your character’s powers and broadens the stakes to a cosmic scale. Vergence is a much looser interpretation of Blades, taking away much of the bookkeeping found in the vice and heat mechanics that punish typical Blades’ characters. You also level up as a group, rather than individually, which I understand might not be what your playgroup is looking for, but your characters are still uniquely powered individuals with special abilities.
1400 Planes, by Unknown Dungeon.
1400 Planes is lo-fi hi-fantasy.
The multiverse roils with boundless existence. For many, the infinite planes of creation drift past at an immeasurable distance, their alien secrets perpetually out of reach. However those who break their mortal shackles and cross that liminal space, wander such exotic spheres on an eternal pilgrimage.
1400 Planes is a stand-alone table-top RPG. The rules are short and easy to learn and the whole game can fit on a single sheet of paper.  It can be played using just the rules provided, or combined with other entries in the 1400 series to expand the world and provide more character and game options.
24XX games feel very slim and small, but I think they can provide the base for something bigger that caters to your group. They can also be combined with other games that use the same rule-set very easily, which you could use to provide interesting level-ups for characters. 24XX games are also usually pretty cheap, so you’re not going to break the bank picking up a few to play around with.
Planedawn Orphans, by Sharkbomb Studios.
Set in the Planar City, a strange melting pot that connects the vast diversity of the multiverse. You all play Planar Orphans stranded in this city, your original home worlds destroyed, corrupted or lost.
A mysterious Patron has brought you together, provided you with a base of operations and tasked you to complete a Planar Key. This key will let you create a new plane for you and your fellow refugees. Your quest will bring you to exotic places filled with strange creatures and bizarre phenomena.
This isn’t a game in itself - it’s a campaign framework - but it gives you the opportunity to cobble together a bunch of different games while still giving your players a structure upon which they can scaffold their character’s growth and personalities. I’m currently running this across a huge number of different games with a co-GM and my home group: so far we’ve played Household, The Wildsea, Sundered Isles, and The Great Soul Train Robbery!
Sig, City of Blades, by Genesis of Legend Publishing.
Sig is the nexus of the multiverse, where eternal planes and infinite primes meet. It’s a rough home for cutters and bashers, hungry for coin and glory. It’s a city of gods, demons, and stranger things which lurk. It’s a place where opposites meet, trading knives and kisses in equal measure.
The Silent Regent once ruled over the city with a bladed fist. Now her throne sits empty and the criminal factions battle for control. They dispatch crews of Freebooters, clever and bold, to further their schemes. This is where you come in.
In Sig: City of Blades, you will play the Freebooters in service to once of the mighty city factions. Your faction depends on you to perform vital missions to seize territory and coin from their rivals. This is a game about clever spies, renegade sorcerers and reckless smugglers. You are the best of the best and the worst of the worst.
If you are familiar with Planescape, I’ve heard that Sig: City of Blades gives off the same vibes, at least when it comes to setting. Rules-wise, it’s Forged in the Dark. It looks like in this game, the multiverse comes to you; as scoundrels in a city at the centre of these dimensions, there are plenty of ways for you to get rich in some kind of way that counts. If your group is up to play scoundrels and thieves, you might be interested in Sig: City of Blades.
Tiny Dungeon: Second Edition, by Gallant Knight Games.
Tiny Dungeon: Second Edition is powered by the TinyD6 engine, with streamlined mechanics that utilize only one to three single six-sided dice on every action, characters that can be written on a 3x5 notecard, and easy to understand and teach rules, Tiny Dungeon 2e is great for all groups, ages, and experience levels!
Tiny Dungeon feels like a very boiled-down version of a classic fantasy game; heritages that give you starting abilities, traits that are reminiscent of character classes, and a turn economy that structures combat to make sure everyone gets the same amount of time to do things. You use d6’s to roll, with 1d6 being the worst pool (rolling with a disadvantage) and 3d6 being the best (rolling with an ability or advantage). The game is meant to be mod-able, with optional rules and various micro-settings meant to get your inspiration flowing. The best part about so many different micro-settings that all use the same rules is that you can absolutely jump from one setting to another!

I’d also ask myself if Slugblaster could be hacked to be about fantasy adventurers jumping into various dimensions, rather than teenagers hoverboarding across space and time. It certainly has plenty of pieces that allow your characters to dig into personal issues - the Trouble mechanic really lets you digest the kinds of things your character might have to neglect in order to go adventuring! You can read more about it in my Dimensional Travel recommendation post.

Soooooooo...basically a rewrite of Hobie's entire part in the movie? Except more awkward teenager and much, much more rambling. This does feel a bit all over the place so...enjoy, if you wanna.
Meeting Gwen for the first time wasn’t anything particularly memorable or anything like that, Hobie didn’t think. It was a simple thing, really; LYLA had found an anomaly, Miguel had reluctantly put Hobie on the case, Hobie had gone out of his way to ramble on about how he wasn’t a cog in Miguel’s system (man looked like he wanted to punt Hobie out of the office, and that just added more pleasure to his insubordination), and then Jess had sort of insisted that Gwen tag along to learn how to inter-dimensional travel and also how to deal with the anomalies as they occurred. Her exact words, if he remembered right, were “she needs to learn how to deal with these things in a team setting, and also maybe get some more friends her own age” or something similar that Gwen had immediately protested against.
He’d protested as well, as if it would change anything, as if these two would take him any serious. Hobie told them that he didn’t believe in teams, or in teamwork, and Jess put her hand on his shoulder, looked him in the eye, and told him very sternly to get over himself. Miguel was in the back, rubbing his hand over his face with one hand and waving the other at them in a motion that screamed ‘just go’. The mission itself was fine, easy job for a sole Spider let alone two Spider-People, but Gwen had been pricklier than he’d been expecting. He thought she was spunky, but particularly withdrawn for a Spider, and she’d snapped at him several times before the mission had ended. Afterwards, they’d gone their separate ways and he didn’t think too much about her, focusing on being the one and only Spider-Man (Spider-Punk, the newspaper headlines screamed, and he’d hated the name with a passion when he was younger, but found the title had grown on him over the years) in Camden.
Then they got paired together again. And again. And again. There’d been a genuine moment of concern that Miguel and Jess were punishing him for something, because they kept sticking him together with this small wisp of a child who looked like she wanted to bite his head off any time he asked her anything remotely personal, whether it be about her family or even her favorite kind of music. Hobie couldn’t even begin to figure her out, but decided that if he kept pushing, especially if they kept getting put on missions together, she’d have to crack eventually, right?
(It was worse when he realized she was actually older than him, even if it was only by three months. She held it over him for days, blocking his every question and prompt with “I don’t have to tell you anything, I’m older than you are.” Like a kid. Like a little kid, and how in the hell was she older than he was? It was unjust, it was.)
The sad part was, Hobie wasn’t even sure when things changed, with Gwen. Rather, he wasn’t quite sure why they had changed, though far be it from him to criticize someone’s changing of their mind. They’d gone on a mission, catching an inter-dimensional Doc Ock in some bizarre backwards universe made up of graffiti art that had her particularly subdued and snappish with him; she’d just given a thirty second rant that had cut Hobie deeper than he’d wanted to admit and they were swinging around searching for the Doc in a strained silence that had lasted until they’d found the fucker; at some point in the fight, the Doc had her pinned and Hobie’d yelled for her to cover her ears, and used his guitar to blast the scientist off of her at the last second, using his regular webs to yank her from where she’d been embedded in the ground; they’d, somehow, ended up victorious back at HQ and handed the Doc to Margo to send back to the proper dimension, went to Miguel and Jess to report their success. Hobie set his watch to his home dimension, the portal had opened up, and then —
“Hey, can I…” He’d half-turned to Gwen, eyes wide on his mask to showcase his paying attention as Gwen held her left arm tightly in her right hand, pointedly not looking at him and using the longer left side of her hair to cover her face. She’d taken off her mask, though Hobie had never really felt comfortable enough in the Spider Society to do so very often, and he could see the uncertainty in her face as she finally spit out, “can I…crash with you? For a bit?”
“Like, in my dimension?” Hobie’d asked, and she rolled her eyes so hard that her head followed the motion automatically. Something warm and pleased grew in his chest as she pushed past him roughly, muttering something sarcastic under her breath, and he didn’t even notice Jess watching them from behind as he nudged her shoulder playfully while they walked through the portal together.
Gwen started hanging around more after that, even when they had to keep moving from abandoned house to abandoned house in order to keep a roof over their head for the night. She didn’t stay over every night, but it was often enough to leave some of her shit laying around for him to trip over. He discovered she like playing drums and incorporated her into his band, more or less the only permanent member aside from him despite the inter-dimensional shenanigans. ‘Gwen’ became ‘Gwennifer’ (she threw her drumstick at him) which then became ‘Guinevere’ (he’d barely dodged the swing she leveled at him for that) became ‘Gwendolyn’ (she’d webbed his mouth shut) became ‘Gwendy’ (she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, but he’d caught the pleased look on her face for that one). Over time, she started opening up about her dad, her indefinitely on-hold Spider-Woman work in her home ‘verse, her Peter…
Miles.
The name lit up something at the back of his head, the first time she’d mentioned it, and Hobie couldn’t for the life of him figure out what it was. It wasn’t until she mentioned something about a particle collider that it came rushing to Hobie; he was Miguel’s “original anomaly”, the one who had apparently weakened the multiverse apart enough for the Spider Society to be kept busy damn near constantly. Hobie could respect a Spider who could throw the multiverse into chaos like that, even if was accidental and wasn’t even his fault to begin with. He tried prompting her, through trial and error, into talking about Miles damn near constantly; it worked better than he’d hoped, and for a hot minute all she would talk about was Miles. What he looked like, what he’d say, the way he’d stuck his hand to her hair when he’d first gotten his powers and she’d had to cut it off on the sides (“and you kept the hairstyle?” “Fuck off, Hobart — ” “Ew, no thanks mate, ‘o the fuck is Hobart — ”). She talked about him so much that Hobie felt like he knew the damn kid all on his own without ever having met him.
And then Gwen got herself assigned to a mission in his universe. Not only that, but she was allowing herself to miss her friend enough to stop off to visit when she went, though she had a brief moment of panic before she’d left and she’d called him for ‘moral support’ or whatever it was she’d hissed at him when she called. Hobie felt proud of her for that, even though he couldn’t find his chucks the day she left and he nearly brained himself tripping over her damn jumper when he headed to the bathroom.
It was her first mission on her own, officially, and Hobie was pulling out damn near every trick in the book to keep him from worrying. He was sitting at her drum set where they had it set up in a practice warehouse, listlessly banging on the cymbals when his watch went off a second time. Heart jumping up into his throat, Hobie answered the call and whipped his way into Mumbatten, which was exactly where Gwen was not supposed to be at this current moment. He’d barely even taken the time to suit up, nearly forgot to grab his damn guitar, and didn’t even pause to take in the situation before strumming the thing and bursting through what looked like a barrier. He’d heard Gwen and Pavitr shout, but he’d landed with his back to them and then he’d gotten rushed by Pav the second he caught his breath.
Then he’d turned fully, pushed Pav off of him, and nearly swallowed his tongue when he caught a good, solid look of him, dressed in his black suit with pops of red; it had to be Miles, the Spider-Man-Who-Wasn’t-Supposed-To-Exist-In-Earth-1610-Specifically, which for some reason both was a surprise and yet was completely expected.
“This the kid from 1610?” He asked first, like he wasn’t fully aware of who Miles was to begin with. Gwen’s head rolled, a sure sign she was rolling her eyes, and he’d glanced her way briefly before looking back at Miles, who was complaining to Gwen. He’d gotten close enough when Pav thanked him for destroying the barrier in time to hear him (“I weakened it!”) and shot a quick demonstration of “use your whole palm, mate, not just your fingertips”, complete with hand visuals. Miles looked, low-key through his mask, like he wanted to strangle him. Gwen looked away, but Hobie could tell her shoulders were shaking from held-back laughter.
He wanted to crawl into a small hole for a minute. For a hot second, Hobie debated the pros and cons of potentially just jumping back through the portal and going home, there were three Spiders to deal with the Dalmatian over there, he wasn’t really needed for this, was he? He was distracted for all of two seconds before remembering there was supposed to be a fight going on, and he was supposed to be helping, and that Miles was standing in front of him.
So, naturally, once he was back online and fully focused, he opened his mouth and immediately put his foot in it.
“What’s up with his suit, is he bleeding from the armpits?”
“Wha-Who even is this guy?” Gwen introduced them quickly, Hobie talking even faster as they prepared to fight the Dalmatian-looking dude in front of them, and though Miles looked slightly lost (“I thought you hated labels?”), Hobie had hope that they’d be able to get along swell.
Then he stuck his foot in it again.
“Gwendy, you left your jumper ‘round my place.”
“What’s a jumper?”
“It’s a sweater!”
“How many sweaters do you own?”
And, because he couldn’t keep his damn mouth shut to save his own damn life even as Gwen clearly tried to salvage that mess, Hobie continued.
“And your toothbrush.” He kind of wanted to die. What was the deal with this spotty dude? Hobie wondered if the dude would shoot him into another dimension if he asked him nicely enough. He hated asking nice though, and it was pretty obvious this guy happened to be the villain of the week (as it were), so his best bet was staying here. Shame, that. He was really fucking things up right about now, and he just knew Gwen was gonna give him shit for it later too.
Things happened…weirdly fast after that. They fought the Dalmatian, they lost the Dalmatian, Mumbatten’s AlcheMax began crumbling and they had to save the people. Normal Spider stuff, and Hobie was glad for the distraction — well, not glad glad, he didn’t want Mumbatten to fall apart and Pav was far too little a Spider to be dealing with this kind of cosmic mess — just because Miles took off with Pavitr and left him and Gwen to hold the building up. Even better, Gwen was all the way over there, so she couldn’t even give him shit for how he’d been acting the fool in front of Miles.
God, he just hoped it wasn’t noticeable. To Miles, at least.
Then after the building collapsing was the bridge falling apart, and Miles diving to save the Inspector. Hobie had skid to a stop next to Gwen, the both of them staring down as Pav tried to save the bus and his girl, and Miles tried to save the Inspector. Gwen’s eyes were wide, taking up the entirety of her face as she held onto the railing in a death grip with one hand, the other still outstretched; she’d grabbed Miles then, right before Hobie had gotten there, and for a moment he wasn’t sure why she’d done it.
“He’ll be aces, yea?” Hobie said to her quietly, eyes still on the bridge.
“It’s a canon event. He’s interfering with it.” Gwen said somberly, and Hobie scoffed with a roll of his eyes — she sounded just like Miguel, there, for a hot moment, and he wondered if he should begin extracting them both before the man’s ideals managed to get in any deeper — but Gwen didn’t seem to notice him. When the bridge finished collapsing, she didn’t hesitate to jump over the rail, yelling for Miles as she did so. Hobie followed after her, beelining his way to Pav first to help him with the bus. Once it was on solid ground, relatively speaking, the passengers disembarking and Pavitr trying to smooth things over with his girl, Hobie turned on time to see Gwen lift a giant piece of rubble to reveal —
Miles. Holding a small child, with the Inspector right behind him. Both were fine, probably filled with adrenaline but relatively unharmed, and Pav’s girl was rushing past them all to embrace her father. Hobie followed her, not to the Inspector, but to Miles; Miles, who had been facing Gwen, who hadn’t heard him approach and therefore wasn’t anticipating it when Hobie grabbed his shoulders from behind and shook him eagerly.
“Miles, my guy!” He said cheerfully, and even the city cheered for them (and wasn’t that just novel, that’s never happened to Hobie before), and then —
There was a hole, big and black and looking similar to the spots on the Spot, sucking in pieces of Mumbatten. There was Jess, and her team of Spiders trying to keep it contained (points to Spider Society!) and her just blatantly blowing off Miles in a way that made Hobie’s hackles rise and ordering them all back to HQ to talk to Miguel (negative points for their diligent leaders!). Panic spiked at that, briefly, for Hobie; he leaned on Miles and tried to get him out of it, get them both out of it, but Miles shrugged him off in order to practically run into the belly of the beast with his fist in the air like he’d won something. Hobie dropped his face into his palm, but followed along anyway. Just to see what was going to happen.
Miles looked slightly awed when he took off his mask, which was kind of an ego boost, if Hobie was being honest; his whispered comment was met with one of his own comebacks (“how are you even cooler under the mask?” “I was this cool the whole time.”) that made Gwen press her lips together as she repressed her snort of laughter. Hobie glowered at her slightly, and she rolled her eyes in the opposite direction. Even Jess looked somewhat amused, and Hobie grunted softly at both of them.
He tried, honest to god, he tried so hard to keep Miles from meeting Miguel. Once he’d realized that Gwen had met with Miles and yet told him nothing about the Spider Society, told him nothing about how he fit into all of this as the supposed “original anomaly” (he had ThoughtsTM about Miguel’s thought process, is all, ThoughtsTM that he didn’t necessarily have time to delve into at this specific moment) — he couldn’t let him walk in blind. Miles didn’t deserve the way Miguel was gonna treat him on a normal day, short-tempered and blunt as the man was, let alone a day where a mission was fucked up bad enough that the BBG got away and another dimension was in peril of nonexistence. There was just no time to prepare him, not right at this moment, and he’d completely messed up his entrance to begin with so it wasn’t even like Miles would wanna even listen to anything Hobie had to say, let alone believe it, so…Hobie stalled.
Easily reaching out and grabbing anything potentially useful, Hobie distracted Miles as best he could. Bet this don’t even do anything. Why’d you wanna join up anyway? (The scoff Miles gave him when Hobie told him to make his own watch was not cute, Hobie did not find it endearing at all, and he was shit at lying to himself) What’s your set up — loving parents? (He was thankful Gwen was walking ahead of them for that one and not paying them any attention; the way he’d leaned on that unused portal more or less broadcasted his interest, especially combined with the way he’d fallen through it. He was also infinitely grateful Miles was too preoccupied to notice that blatant display). Hell, he even planted himself in front of the damn kid, sitting in the chair and stretching his legs out onto the table top so that Miles wouldn’t advance anymore, and felt his heart flutter in his chest when Miles simply pushed past him without even stopping.
Then it stopped when Miguel showed up, acting more Miguel-ish than usual. Miles greeted him brightly, holding up the empanada he’d gotten from the cafeteria, but Miguel was having none of it at the moment. Hobie glared at him out of the corner of his eye when he threw the empanada, then dipped out of sight in order to steal more tech that he needed; he lost track of what was happening all the way up to the loud crashing noise, and he’d popped his head back over to see Miguel yelling at both Gwen and Miles. Sniffing irritably, Hobie opened his mouth and was cut off immediately by Peter Parker from Earth 616 making his appearance. Miles was happy to see him, Hobie could hear it in his voice, and against his better judgement he went back to what he was doing.
When Miguel trapped Miles, way before literally trapping him in a cage, Hobie made his way to Miles’ side while keeping a small distance from him. He kept his eyes on him, watching how he ranted against Miguel’s idea of ‘keeping to the canon’, how he fought against the idea of letting one person die just to save others, how he argued that as Spider-Man they should be able to do both. Watched how he turned to his original allies, Peter 616 and Gwen and even Peni, and how they all couldn’t look him in the eye for longer than a few seconds. Encouraged him when it seemed like he needed it (“Here we go.” “Hobie, you’re not helping.” “Good.”). Miles realized it was a trap a second too late, and once Miguel had him caged, chaos began to descend upon them all. His friends were yelling at Miguel, who was yelling back, and Miles was panicking. He couldn’t break himself out, and Hobie’d had enough.
“Oi, Peter Pan.” Hobie hissed at him, and Miles stared at him with wide eyes. He didn’t touch the digital net, all too aware of the fact that it would draw attention from the others, but he spread his hands out just in front of it. Hobie repeated his advice from earlier, complete with visual demonstration, without speaking out loud. “Use your palms.” Miles seemed to take a breath at that, his shoulders lowering from around his ears as he pressed his hands fully against the barrier, palms and all. Since Hobie was the only one paying attention, he knew to brace himself when electricity started crackling up and down Miles’ arms; when the barrier exploded, he was the only one who wasn’t knocked over aside from Miles, who seemed to freeze for a sec when he realized he was free. He chuckled, smiling proudly when Miles’ wide brown eyes met his again, without the barrier this time.
Then Miles turned heel and booked it down the corridor, where the door was wide open and awaiting his exit. Hobie sort of regretted that breaking the door so it would stay open meant that the other Spiders also had easy access to go after Miles, but they were still trying to pick themselves up off the floor and that gave Miles a solid four second head start. It was the best Hobie could do for him, given the situation, along with one last thing.
Miguel yelled for everyone to go after Miles, and they complied. Hobie activated his watch, creating a portal to his home ‘verse. Sneering at all the Spiders rushing past him, Hobie shouted “for the record, I quit!” and threw his watch off once he was safely in the portal.
He crash landed towards the edge of the bed in the room, close enough to where he was aiming originally. Sighing heavily, Hobie sprawled out on the bed and listened to the drones flying overhead, watched as their lights illuminated the room he was staying in currently. Gwen’s jumper was still on the floor where she’d left it, her shoes dropped carelessly two feet beside it. (Seriously, her shoes were right there, did she really have to take his?) With a soft sigh and a quiet groan, he pulled himself back up, stretched, and started pulling shit out of his pockets. He’d actually grabbed a lot more things than he’d needed, courtesy of trying to hold the door for Miles, and he tossed aside the things he didn’t need in order to get started. Several other watches dropped out of his pocket as well, the ones he’d made before staying on him for safekeeping — one for him, one for Pav, one for Gwen.
Just because Miles didn’t want to make his own watch didn’t mean Hobie couldn’t make one for him.

I see you just got into TMNT now you started 2k3. That’s so cool. I know Donnie is your favorite but I want to ask for the iterations so far. What’s your opinion on each of the TMNT? Individually. /gen question
Oh my god prepare for a YAP
I’ll have this under a cut because this is a long one.
Okay so I’ve seen most of the TMNT iterations/parts of each one, plus I’ve read a couple of the comics. Overall Donnie is definitely my favorite, in each iteration, but second place shifts depending on the series. It’s honestly interesting because the first time I watched anything tmnt Mikey was my favorite with a Donnie as second place, but now Donnie’s my favorite.
1987 show:
I’ve only seen the first season, plus a couple of clips, so I don’t have a super big opinion on it. I’m planning on watching it all the way through eventually. So far it seems pretty funny, though I can’t hear Raph speak without thinking it’s Donnie. ‘87 was the one my dad watched so we’ve talked about it a couple of times. Shredder and Kraang are really funny, they act like an old married couple and it’s hilarious. Splinter is also really funny (“They named me Splinter, for obvious reasons” - that killed me). Shredder’s voice is certainly interesting but it works
1990’s movies:
I’ve seen the first one like 12 times, and the other two I watched a while ago so I don’t fully remember them. The first one is fucking phenomenal. Casey Jones’ intro was amazing, and as a kid I literally wanted to BE him. (Lowkey still do). It’s probably one of my favorite movies ever. The brothers’ dynamic, Casey and April’s dynamic, it’s all great. The Foot Clan looked awesome, Shredder was awesome. The way they dumped Raph into the damn bathtub. Amazing. Raph’s super loud “DAMN” as Casey ran off. My dad and I quote this movie on the regular. Mikey being a goofball the entire movie? (“Pork rind?” “Pork rind.”) Donnie doesn’t have as much characterization as Raph, but he’s still my favorite. Raph’s a close second. I’ve heard the second and third ones aren’t as good as the first one, but I’m still going to watch them soon. I’ve heard Casey isn’t in the second one which is actually tragic. I also heard that April’s actress changed, but I haven’t seen her so I don’t really have an opinion on that.
2003 show:
I’m almost done with season 2 of it, and so far it’s literally awesome. Donnie has once again claimed favorite, but Raph is again close behind him. I love all the angst. It has its goofy moments, but I like that the story is serialized as opposed episodic. I’m very excited for SAINW. Since Donnie is my favorite you all know I love Donnie angst and SAINW is basically a staple in Donnie angst. I really like the brothers’ relationships with one another. I also really like their voices, Leo and Donnie sound super similar. I also really like how impulsive Donnie is - he saw that portal in the Kirby episode and dove straight in like a dumbass and I love him for it. Leo being thrown through the window (classic Leo) was also funny as hell.
I also really like Splinter in it, I feel like he’s a lot more present than he is in some of the other series. In 2012 and Rise he’s mostly in the background but in 2003 he’s in most of the episodes. I like how often he jumps into the fight to protect his children as well. I’m used to 2012 and Rise so I wasn’t expecting him to be kicking ass in most of the fights, but here he is. I really like the artstyle of 2003 as well, it looks a bit like Young Justice and I was a huge fan of that show as a kid. April and Casey are awesome as well, April being a scientist was different but I liked it, she and Donnie can bond over their interests more. I also love himbo Casey - he’s got such a big heart, and even if he’s not the brightest he’s always trying. His and Raph’s relationship is iconic. Mikey is funny af as usual, though in 2003 he honestly gives Shaggy/stoner vibes, which works. I like how he’s actually one the best at ninjitsu, when they are sparring no one can really hit him. I like that the team is so close, everyone cares about everyone and there’s not a super big division in teams like in 2012. All in all I really love the show so far, and I’m very excited to see where it goes.
2007 movie:
I saw this movie once a long time ago, but I remembered I liked it. I finally found a way to watch it so I’ll probably watch it again once I finish 2003. I remember that there is a ton of angst in it (hell yeah) but since I haven’t seen it in a couple years I can’t really give a definitive opinion on it. From the clips I’ve seen, Donnie is still very much the favorite (“it’s not THAT kind of phone line!”)
Bayverse movies:
I’ll be so for real, I watched both of these movies in one sitting after 10 pm. It was interesting. It felt very off from how TMNT usually is, but I did like it. It’s definitely not my favorite, and there were a lot of parts I didn’t like (No Hamato Yoshi :( and why tf is Casey a cop???) but it was a pretty decent set of movies and I’ll probably watch them again eventually. It’s about the same as I feel with the Bay Transformers movies - they weren’t the best but they weren’t the worst things I’ve ever seen.
Donnie is still the favorite (“Well, you know the plan.” *jumps out of airplane*) and I think Mikey would probably be second favorite. He’s fun. I think Megan Fox is hot so I didn’t mind her, but I wish April actually had more of a personality. She seemed pretty bland, but it doesn’t really surprise me, the April writing seems to be pretty hit or miss. The turtles look… interesting. They’re very… tall… compared to their counterparts. The Shredder and Kraang kind of came out of nowhere in my opinion. It was a cool fight, though.
2012 show:
I just finished it, and holy shit it was honestly so good. Season 5 was kind of eh, but I loved the rest of it. Donnie is once again my favorite, with Raph at second. I really liked teenager Casey and April, and I also really liked how they let April learn how to defend herself. In a lot of the past iterations April has been a damsel in distress, but in 2012 she’s able to actually fight back. I wish we could have seen more of her struggle with her powers, especially more as she’s slowly possessed by the Aeon crystal. The Kraang’s dialogue was funny, and the Utrom reveal was cool. I was so sad when Splinter died (rip) I wish we could have seen more of their reactions to his death(s). The Space Arc was absolutely my favorite (which sucks because a lot of people apparently hated it). I wish there had been more of the Space Arc. I’m also a huge David Tennant fan so hearing him as Fugitoid was awesome. I liked how the brothers interacted, they bickered so much but it was never meant as more than jokes. Mikey intentionally pissing people off and then running was always funny.
I hated most of the love stories in 2012, Leo and Karai and April/Casey/Donnie specifically. Leo and Karai were called siblings several times (what were the writers on??) and it felt like April never had any actual chemistry with either of them. I loved April as well, so it sucked that they didn’t want to be consistent with her character/arc.
I was kinda iffy on Splinter, sometimes it felt like he was a great father but other times he made no sense. (Like grounding them all to the lair when they needed to stop the bad guys from destroying everything). I did like how he was willing to teach April and Casey even though they weren’t his kids, he taught April just about everything and helped Casey get better.
All in all, I really like the show. The animation wasn’t always the best, and the writing wasn’t always great, but I still loved it.
Rise, show and movie:
Rise was the first TMNT show I watched fully, and though I had seen bits of 2012, this was really my introduction to TMNT back in 2019. I love the show so much. Donnie is once again my favorite (as always) but this time Leo’s the second favorite. I really liked April and I wish we had seen more of Casey in the show before Junior showed up. I like when April is adopted into their family, so her being basically their sister was incredible. I really liked the way the brothers interacted with one another, and I really love the animation for it. I used Rise a lot to help me with my art when I was learning how to draw.
I wish we had gotten more of an overarching plot for Rise, but I did like what little of it we got. Rip Gram-Gram. I thought Splinter was an interesting take, but it made sense. Who wouldn’t becoming horribly depressed after being turned into a rat (especially after being a famous action star). I don’t think he was the best father, but he was trying towards the end. I liked what the writers did with the characters, they’re all relatively different than the previous iterations while still keeping some of the key components of each character. I liked how the Shredder was done, with him being more of a mythical creature than an actual man, and how he was possessed by the Krang’s armor (and the Krang were done so well)
The movie was amazing, I loved Casey Jr (so much angst potential) and the overall idea of coming back to see your family that doesn’t know you. It was such a cool way to have the Krang (and they were actually terrifying in Rise, in 2003 they were peaceful, in 2012 they were kinda dumb, but in Rise they fully murdered people on screen. Wacky.) I wish we had seen more Casey Sr - she was so cool and we didn’t even know she was Casey until the end. I wanted to see Casey and Raph bond :( Oh well, we have the fandom for that, I suppose.
Mutant Mayhem, movie and show:
I haven’t seen Tales yet (maybe after I finish 2003) but it looks promising. I loved Mutant Mayhem, it’s a very different vibe than the other ones (“Just getting a little silly here”) but it’s still pretty damn good. Donnie is still my favorite, with Mikey as a close second. This is actually the first version of the tmnt that is younger than me (I was about 12-13 when I first started watching Rise and I’m 18 now) so I was a little worried I wouldn’t like it because it’s for younger kids. Thankfully, I loved it. Definitely for younger people, but you know, it was still TMNT so I still watched it. It’s not my favorite version of them, but I’ll definitely watch it again.
I really wish Casey was in it (is Casey in Tales?) but April was so funny (“Yeah the longer you hide the more sus it gets”). I didn’t really like Splinter that much, but I also prefer it when he has a link to Hamato Yoshi (either by being him or being his pet) so I wasn’t too surprised that he wasn’t my favorite. Donnie was still peak though. I liked that they had teenagers playing them, even though I’m used to professional voice actors/adults playing them. I also liked how funky the art style was, it was similar to Spider-Verse and Spider-Verse was awesome.
The Last Ronin comic:
Oof oof ouch. Holy crap it’s so sad. Oof oof ouch.
In all seriousness, it was so good. I haven’t read the lost years, but I did read the normal comic and it was amazing. Horribly sad, but good. God, the way he could hear his brothers the whole time? The way he clearly blamed himself for what happened to them?
Casey Marie was amazing, and it’s so sad that Casey didn’t get to see his daughter grow up to be just like him. (To be fair, she’s almost a perfect mix of him and April). The ending was heartbreaking. The sudden descriptions of their deaths?
I don’t think the image of Casey’s mask on Leo’s swords will ever leave my mind.
IDW comics:
I’ve only read about half of the first volume, but it’s great so far! I’ve read Jennika’s story too, so I know a little bit from that as well.
Shredder and the Hamatos being reincarnated goes insane, by the way. I love the different art styles in the comics, they all look so good. I wish I could make posters out of every panel. April was once again a scientist, which is pretty cool.
Mirage comic:
I haven’t read the mirage comics, but once I get the money and I know where to find them I’m planning on buying them. They look awesome
Batman vs the TMNT:
I own the movie but I haven’t had the time to see it yet. I really want to, the art style is amazing and I really like the turtles’ new designs.
I feel like such a fake fan, I haven’t seen/read or only partially seen/read most of these. But yeah, I love TMNT and any excuse to yap about it I will take.

Deepest apologies for the long rant. Taking this directly from a convo with a bestie. If none of it makes sense, let's just assume I wrote it very late at night... (it was at 10 in the morning XD)
I FIGURED IT OUT
A SOLUTION
A WAY FOR IT TO MAKE SENSE FINALLY
THANK YOU, MINECRAFT END POEM YOU WERE MY GENDER AWAKENING FOR A REASON
ahem
so in mcsm, both romeo and xara confirm there was a "first world" that they and fred created together.
HOWEVER in the few moments we get to see fred, as a hologram, talking about how to take away romeos powers, he mentions turning romeo "normal again"
normal again? wtf does that MEAN, fred?? AGAIN?? were y'all regular people before?! that cant be possible-
or can it?
now because of this i tend to imagine two alt timelines
one where i disregard his line entirely. all three spawned in as admins, in the void, and built the world together.
AND
one where the three used to be mortal, but came from another dimension, like a place from the portal hallway. they somehow obtained admin powers and decided to create a new world for themselves. but i didnt know how they could have gained such powers, not without saying something dumb like "yeah notch liked them and zapped them with the Admin Ray"
BUT NOW I HAVE AN ANSWER
AND it could even kinda apply to both alt timelines
the three of them completed the "game." they achieved something, did some great feat, something similar to slaying the ender dragon in the base game. they accomplished all they'd set out to do, in their world, as mortals. stepped through the portal.. and came out the other side as gods.
did they read the end poem, i wonder? or hear it perhaps? did they simply forget, as the ages went by? i feel like the end poem could fix romeo, so maybe he never saw it. maybe none of them did. maybe its just for us to see.
but the universe granted them the abilities to create again, dream bigger, do better. thats how they "became" admins and why fred said he could make romeo normal "again"
as for the one where they spawned in as admins surrounded by nothing.. we could just say they did all that stuff i just wrote above, but also forgot their past lives, and assumed their first world to be THE first world. only fred remembers. for some reason XD
it even explains how the portal hallway can exist! other dimensions that all seem to have the same creations the admins made without any admins being there to create them! maybe they thought they were making new things, but really they were taking what was left of their memories from Another Place and recreating what was already there in the multiverse! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
thinking about how the old order of the stone could have become admins if they'd just killed the dragon properly-
frothing at the mouth-

Hello!! First: I think calling your asks a mail box is so cute )::
Secondly: Are.. you a nightwing? Have you ever thought about mixing TDCA with WOF?? I personally see sun and moon as a nightwing sandwing hybrid who was cursed by magic to switch forms between the light and the dark ::3 but I would love to hear your thoughts!! (If you don’t care much for WOF still would love to hear your thoughts on dragon versions of sun and moon !!) - Muffiiee
TYSM!^^ I might change it eventually, as I had it like that because I was playing around with my phone notification sounds skkdjwjeej. I'll probably keep it for a while tho!
Also, the "I wonder who it's from!" in the gif immediately made me think of Blues Clues akdbdbdbdbbb
And no, I'm not a Nightwing. Dw tho! A lot of people get her confused! She actually has a separate WoF design (Rain/Night) that's on my TH!^^ Her regular design is non-wof.
And yes, I have! AKJSJSHSHHS i finally get to talk about them! I am currently working on the WoF!DCA lore (at least for my renditions).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Base by LotusMoon
They're separate dragons in mine, and they're brothers! They're Sand/night hybrids with just a biiit of Skywing heritage (hence Sunny's tail!)
They ended up working for Thorn in the Scorpion Den during the tail end of the war as caretakers, mainly caring for injured and orphaned dragonets.
After the war, they decide to start a daycare/orphanage, considering there were still many displaced dragonets during the war. (Mind you, they're still 17 or so in human years at this time, so probably 6-7 in dragon years and still considered dragonets. Around the same age as the DoD ig idk anymore lol)
I don't have their lore figured out much beyond that though-
(However, I have thought about pulling these two into my Ninjago Multiverse AU. Galaxy, (my sona) is the MC of that au and got dragged to the Pizzaplex to stop the virus via her Portals, and now works there. Sun and Moon have accidentally ended up on two adventures with her (Hunger Games and an MLP infection world). Maybe I'll add a third at some point, and DCA Sun and Moon end up dragons for a while ajdjdhjd)
I also have a few OCs I want to involve in their lore somehow. I was actually writing in that specific Google doc when I got this ask LMAO-
I can give you a few snippets if you want! :D (Some of it not Sun and Moon related specifically, but I might tie the other character's story into theirs later! (If I make full fledged fics, I'll probably post em in a similar style to the WoF books; one in Skyfrost's pov, one in Sun's, one in Moon's, ect. Although, I'm already working on two fnaf fics and many little smaller drabbles so it might be a while before I get anything very long XD)

I've been reading a bit of Minecraft fics and it's got me thinking about the chain in linked universe a little bit so I'm gonna share what I've been cooking.
Linked universe Minecraft au where they all have very similar code, so when all nine of them just happen to enter a portal at the same time, something goes horribly wrong and they all get trapped in a new empty world together.
In order to escape they have to make it to the end and defeat the dragon, but that's only if they can figure out how to get along and stop sabotaging each other.
All the player ideas I have so far, this might make a little more sense if you're familiar with Evo, hermit craft and origins/mob hybrid lore but I kinda made up some watcher society stuff-
Sky is all fish out of water with the whole thing. He spends most of his time in the end on an island with other watchers. He essentially never switched out of creative mode.
The world he lives in is also legacy, it has the islands but he's never seen chorus or shulkers, essentially it's a wasteland with some obsidian watcher structures. Even if he knew everything about the blocks he did have, he's still entirely held back by having no clue what all the new stuff is.
In fact, his girlfriend oversees an entire cluster of the last remaining legacy worlds, and he is very proud of her. His player form is a parrot hybrid because the one time he went to a different world to get some nice bright blue flowers for her that he heard about from a passing mobile watcher, he saw a parrot and thought they were cooler than bats.
___________
Four is a shulker because you can dye them in bedrock and they literally just multiply by beating themselves up. They are also just tiny little guys so it all falls into place.
Four's shell has each color and he shoots himself to split. Essentially he's four little guys living in the same shell. It gets cramped in there.
The colours are the ones forging gear and hiding them in random end cities. That's how they spend their time at least.
They are researching a way to help out their brother who was cursed by a blighted watcher, vio also holds this curse but shadow took the brunt of it. They still have shadow's empty shell, and it no longer comes with them when they combine into four.
________________
Time is a risen watcher, apparently he beat the hell out of a watcher that was tormenting a small world, messing with the moon and time and such, and once he did that he told off the super ancient watcher that only helped him at the last second, despite having the ability to fix it all along.
This fierce deity watcher was impressed with him in general, and marked him as his own son, making Time a watcher himself.
Watchers can choose what their player form presents as, and Time chooses to come across as a non-hybrid regular player. This is strange, because non-hybrids are famously plain and lack any sort of basic adaptability, but Time just swaps origin when the situation calls for it, so it's not a problem for him.
Time was also involved in an incident that affected the history of a lot of newer worlds, even before he became a watcher himself, but whatever this was is largely covered up and he can't speak about it.
_________________
Legend hops worlds. A lot. Like a bunny (he's a bunny). He goes to worlds that have problems and helps solve them to avoid his own.
He's been to so many corrupted worlds and spent so long in them that his code is soup basically. He can run commands and use magic despite literally being some random rabbit.
He can't turn off keep inventory, his stuff also comes with him when he hops worlds, so naturally he has a lot of things.
He has the direct favour of all three watchers in the second highest circle of power, so is largely left unchecked in his shenanigans. Occasionally they come to coo over him like doting wine aunts and it terrifies anyone in radius.
If he's submerged in water he completely glitches out and becomes a mer tropical fish type hybrid, one of them blue and pink ones.
Switching back involves beaching himself so he'd rather avoid it.
He can split into three types of parrot hybrids. Chooses not to as it just summons two rabbits to possess the green and blue parrot. The other two like him and will help out, but they find it uprooting.
There's a huge part of his personal player log that's just missing. It's from the one world he couldn't save, and he's the only one left to mourn it.
_______________________
Hyrule is an allay trapped in an ultra hardcore world where nobody beat the first guardian dragon. A fate worse than death basically.
The entire world is one biome. Mesa.
No one in the world knows why, but not a single soul has any memory of a life before this particular world and for some reason killing the dragon didn't open it up, so everyone is really just waiting around to starve to death.
Hyrule himself beat the dragon twice on his own, though it was futile, but other expeditions resulted in massive casualties, so why did this dinky allay survive two whole times? With no witnesses except the server wide dying cry?
Through a series of conspiracies and nothing better to do, a cult of haters formed, convinced that if they kill Hyrule, not the dragon, that the world would finally open up. As you can imagine, scarce resources, a hoard of mobs by night and fanatical players by day can really wear a guy down.
He hasn't told anyone, but he really thinks he broke everything, he has access to commands and has been using them to cast fire, lightning, heal himself despite the hardcore status and other such small things, but he doesn't know any command that can make things better, and blames himself.
___________________
I have a pretty good idea of what the background is for those five of the chain members, but I haven't played any of the switch games yet so I haven't a clue what to do with wild. Maybe a fox but I'm not sure, I do know that I want him to tie in with twilight.
Wind could be a breeze, but I'm not sure how to tie that in with pirating so maybe a dolphin? And I'm also completely lost with wars. Happy to take suggestions, or really just get this idea out of my head and into the void lol

Okay someone has said baby was Usagi and Leo meeting and does all I can picture was.
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMY3Vcj3T/
And I just thought ,like imaginative the turtle tots somehow ended up in usagi's world. And something minor happens and Usagi spots them and helps them then runs off. Usagi he doesn't think about it, to him Leo was just a boy that he helped on a regular Tuesday afternoon , but to Leo this was monumental, because not only this bunny boy similar to him, so he didn't view him as anything out of the world out of this world (hehe), but it was probably the first someone outside of his family helped him not to even when they return home Leo always thinks back to this moment.
Okay, that is such a cute au idea
I’ve talked about a “de-aging episode” or oneshot before but I think this is a totally different au.
The idea that Leo and his brothers end up in Usagi’s world when their all so young is fantastic.
Maybe the boys were playing with stuff on Splinter’s memorabilia shelf and one accidentally made a portal to Usagi’s world. They end up in the middle of a city or village and panic. They can’t be seen!! Raph grabs a hold of the closest brother, Donnie and just books it to the shadows. He yells out to his brother to run and thinks they are following him.
They aren’t Leo grabs Mikey and they run the opposite direction. Somewhere in the confusion they drop whatever brought them to this world.
The only realize after they get away from the crowd and into the shadows of very different buildings that they are separated.
Raph is panicking. He had Donnie, which is good. Donnie’s soft shell makes him way more vulnerable then their other brothers. But Leo and Mikey are his baby brothers and are all alone out there. Donnie’s trying to keep him calm but he’s freaking out to. They are in a strange environment, his twin and little brother are missing, and he does feel exposed as he hasn’t built a battle shell yet.
On the other side of town Leo and Mikey realize they are separated. Mikey, being the youngest, starts to cry. This is stressful. Leo is trying his best to stay calm and calm down Mikey. He’s freaking out to but he trust Raph to keep Donnie safe and he can totally keep Mikey safe.
That’s when a voice startled them. Mikey drops into his shell and Leo jumps in front of him scared out of his mind but ready to protect his little brother.
But it’s just a little bunny that looks to be around their age. Wait a bunny? Is he a mutant to? Why is he out in the daylight?
Because there stands a baby Miyamoto Usagi. There he stands in the shining daylight while Leo and Mikey hide in the shadows. He asks what their doing? Why they’re dressed funny? (Baby Leo’s shirt literally says ‘rad’ on it) Leo shyly explains that they got separated from their brothers. He’s not sure why but he wants to trust this bunny. Maybe it’s because it’s the first time Leo has seen someone who looks like them. Usagi offers to help them find their brothers. He offers Leo his hand, and after some hesitation Leo takes it. Usagi uses it to pull Leo into the sunlight and start to lead the two brothers through the town.
So here comes Usagi, Leo, and Mikey all holding hands (Leo’s in the middle) as Usagi helps them search for their missing family members.
Maybe while Leo and Mikey are searching the city, Raph and Donnie are sticking to the shadows and have found the artifact they dropped. They are having their own secret mission to get it back, as stealthily as toddlers can.
So your cutting between Usagi showing Leo and Mikey the town. Yes they are searching for Raph and Donnie, but Usagi found out it’s the boys first time in a billiard and is showing it off to them. So their getting sweet bread from the bakery walking around town in the sunlight. All around a great and peaceful day.
Then you hard cut to Raph and Donnie feeling like they are risking their lives trying to get the artifact back and find their brothers.
Your just cutting back and forth between the two groups and it’s very funny to me.
Eventually Raph gets the artifact but in doing so he rolls out into the street. Right at Usagi’s feet. Leo and Mikey cheer going to hug him and Donnie scrambles out of his hiding spot to join his family.
Raph’s wondering how Leo could be so stupid to walk around in the open with Mikey (Leo definitely doesn’t internalize that at all) when Usagi makes his presence know. Raph is supper confused why there is a bunny mutant here. Until Mikey tells him to look at the town and for the first time Raph and Donnie actually look at the people around them and notice their all animals.
Even so Raph and Donnie have had enough and are ready to go home. They open the portal back home and drag a pouting Mikey (he wanted to try more food) and Leo through the portal. Leo yells a goodbye to Usagi as they leave.
Usagi is shocked by the portal and thinks about the strangers often. Where they Kami? Witches? Monks or priest in training? What sort of power did they wield and why was that their first time in town? And maybe he wants to see the turtle with red marking again.
Leo thinks about it constantly. The cute bunny boy and his warm peaceful village. He desperately want la to go back but Splinter took the artifact as soon as the boys got home and destroyed it. (Or at least that’s what he told the boys) Leo thinks he’ll never see the bunny again.

— usagis jealousy during bmc, and if it really is just that? a meta
(read more bc i anticipate this getting very long)
before we talk about bmc lets set the stage a bit: usagi has just defeated the dark kingdom no more than a week ago (its unclear how much time passes btwn the two arcs but i can’t imagine its longer than a week, or even a couple days, as we see usamamo exchange their keepsakes at the end of act 14, something they promised they’d do the next time they saw each other during act 8, which means that this must be the first time theyve seen each other since defeating the dark kingdom, which again, i cant imagine took longer than a couple days) which means she has just experienced: watching her boyfriend die in front of her, being overloaded with a host of tragic memories from her past life (one of them including watching her boyfriend die and killing herself), her boyfriend getting brainwashed, having to kill her boyfriend because there was no getting through to him, killing herself due to the aforementioned trauma, and finally finding out her friends died— sacrificing themselves for her to bring her back. so thats all Crazy we can agree that is crazy for a 14 year old girl to go through? right? okay? good.
now that we’ve agreed on that can you imagine a little girl falling out of a large portal in the sky then threatening you with a GUN (fake sure but she didnt know that originally) and demanding you hand over the overpowered magical artifact you JUST endured all that trauma trying to protect? and then that same girl brainwashes your family? obviously usagi isnt going to trust chibiusa right away. i mean look at what she’s working with, and then when she tries to bring up these concerns no one believes her. i mean sure WE as the audience know chibiusa isnt a threat, and the others think she isnt because they cant see a little girl as particularly threatening but when you look at things from usagis perspective, then OBVIOUSLY she’d be suspicious— i mean she repeatedly refuses to answer any sort of questions (obviously this is not chibiusas fault, shes a scared child and the questioning terrifies her further, but again, think about this from usagis perspective). and again id like to reiterate that all of this is directly after the dark kingdom, usagi hasn’t had any time to heal from those fresh fresh emotional scars Of Course she’s a bit irrational.
now, to the topic at hand, was usagis jealousy really just that? regular jealousy at seeing mamoru spending time with someone who isnt her (even if the person in question was a small child that logically posed no threat to her relationship)?
obviously i dont think so, but let me prove to you its not just simple irrational jealousy but also usagis ptsd and specifically her abandonment issues that are what cause her to react in the way she does.
again, id like to remind the jury of the shit usagi has just gone through and how that all has caused usagi to develop some very serious abandonment issues. we see usagis worst fear(s) represented in nightmare sequences a handful of times throughout the series. exactly twice actually, once in infinity and once in dream and each have the shared theme of her loved ones leaving her in some way. in infinity they turn against her and berate her before ultimately dying, and in dream they’re simply dead. again both times it is very clear that the root of what she fears is abandonment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these abandonment issues however, first begin to present themselves in arc 2. we even get a nightmare sequence in arc 2 similar to those of arcs 3&4. most interpret this as usagi just being jealous usagi. however really look at it, its not that she’s just afraid of mamoru being taken away by chibiusa, she’s afraid of them both abandoning her. look at what she says “wait! where are you going? dont leave me behind!” (or “wait! where are you going? dont leave me here!” in the eternal edition, i prefer the crystal translation simply because it makes it more explicit her issue is them leaving her alone) if it truly truly was an issue of jealousy why would she be afraid of them both leaving her behind? why say something like that? wouldnt it make more sense to say something like…. i dunno “chibiusa? dont take him from me!” instead?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
once again, everything she goes through in arc 1 is a big contributor in this, however recall arc 2 begins with the senshi being picked off one-by-one (all except minako), and usagi can do nothing but watch and it eats her up inside. she quite literally begins to lose everyone dear to her all over again even while the last time is still so fresh in her mind.
and during most of this what does chibiusa do? she stays secretive, doesnt give usagi any information even when usagi tells her she cant trust her if she doesnt. (again i wanna reiterate that this is no fault of chibiusas however its not usagis fault either) so of course usagi begins to register chibiusa as a threat, and again with the information she has + her inarguable connection to the black moon clan this isnt a logical leap in the slightest.
thus when mamoru begins to spend more time with chibiusa instead of her it causes two things to happen. a) usagi is left without the emotional support she desperately needs in all of this (through no fault of mamoru, he completely misreads what usagi needs in this particular situation, he thinks that by helping with chibiusa it’ll ease her stress to have one less thing off her plate, however of course we know this does the opposite) and b) she begins to register chibiusa as a genuine threat to mamorus safety. usagis terrified of losing him all over again when she just got him back. look at this scene, i mean really truly look at it. look at what usagis saying, this doesnt sound like the ramblings of a jealous girlfriend it sounds like someone who’s terrified of losing their most important person all over again. “stay here with me. never go away. ill do everything i can to protect you…” (or “…i wanna be with you. dont go away. ill protect you with everything i have” in crystal, here i prefer the eternal edition again bc i think it more explicitly defines usagis problem) these lines just don’t make sense under the simple jealousy interpretation, what does protecting him have anything to do with envy at the time hes spending with chibiusa and not with her? nothing. shes not upset at that, she puts emphasis on protecting him because thats the true root of the problem, shes afraid of losing him again to yet another supernatural threat after the crystal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and to close out id like to show everyone the viz dub version of this scene because i think it sums up my points incredibly well, as well as making it abundantly clear what the root of usagis problems Really are, specifically through the inclusion of the line “i wont lose you again”

Luz the Goblin Cumdump
Luz groaned as she slowly opened her eyes, she could taste something meaty in her mouth, something long and thick, and salty. She blinked in confusion, feeling a strange breeze and dampness on her developing breasts, as though someone had spilled some kind of viscous fluid on them and left them exposed to the air after. As her eyes fully open, adjusting to the dim light around her, her groans of discomfort soon turn to screams of confusion and horror as she finds herself staring at a dark green pair of balls slapping into her face over and over again, scraggly unkempt hairs brushing her face and nose with every thrust. She tries to reach up to push the thing ontop of her off, but discovers that she instead has to fight against the grip and weight of presumably the very thing thrusting into mouth.
Luckily, or perhaps not so luckily, she didn't have to wait for long to not just have it finish but to get a good look at whatever was raping her mouth. Within a minute of her regaining consciousness, her rapist came in her mouth, filling her throat and stomach with a strong thick liquid that added to a previously unnoticed heat building in her body, sending her hips quivering and her pussy spasming in desperation. The creature then pulled out of her mouth, giving her the first gasp of mostly clean air since she'd woken up. It was then that she saw the little green creature, fully naked except for a few mismatched fur pelts covering its scrawny chest and arms, leaving its distended belly exposed along with its disproportionately large cock and balls. It had long pointed ears similar to a regular witch, massive nearly bulbous eyes that almost seemed to glow, and two rows of jagged chipped teeth in its maw. She was facing a goblin, a goblin had just gotten done fucking her throat and cumming down it.
It was only with the sight of the goblin that everything suddenly started connecting for her, she remembers the strange portal opening by the Owl House, remembers exploring the strange new world with Willow and Amity, and then she remembers what happened. The ambush, each of them fighting with all their strength and being overrun by the small green monsters. They'd been overpowered and knocked unconcsious, and looking around, she supposed that they had then been brought back to the goblins' cave or something. Around her she could see what could only be described as a nightmare. Scattered pieces of armor littered the floor from presumably former victims, some of them were strange almost futuristic like one particular rounded red helmet with a green visor next to what looked like a strange green cannon that would fit over an arm, other pieces though were clearly from medieval designs like the godlen and red breast plate with what looked like a two 'W's stacked on top of one another beside a beautiful golden crown, armor that she could only imagine belonging to a great hero. The last relic that caught her attention before the goblins seized it once more was a beautiful faintly glowing sword stuck atop a pile of bones and scraps of leather and metal, the hilt looked to be in the shape of two wings with a set of three triangles forming a larger triangle, she wondered if it had belonged to the same hero who'd worn the golden breast plate she'd seen.
Before she could ponder any further on that though she felt a hand strike her across the face, bringing her focus back to the goblin before her, the one that had pumped her stomach full of hot, thick, manly cum~. No! She couldn't let herself think like that, she didn't even know where that had come from.
Luz: "W-what do you want!? I don't understand you!"
Tears filled her eyes as she looked at the beast as it chattered nonsensically at her, finally though it seemed to grow tired of her lack of cooperation and threw her to the ground on her front, her small perky breasts pressing firmly to the cold stone floor, she immediately tried to rise, to get to her feet so she might escape and find Amity or Willow, before she could though it had already mounted her. The goblin's weight fell on her ass and lower back, it's massive cock flopping down on top of her firm ass as it began to grind against her.
Luz: "Ahh! N-no! Stop please, w-where are my friends!? Where's Amity and Willow!? What have you done with them!?"
Obviously the goblin didn't answer, simply gripping her chin and forcing her into a filthy kiss, its tongue slathering across her lips, flopping against her teeth and then plundering her mouth while its cock finally found the mark, forcefully plowing into her virgin pussy. As she felt his cock force its way into her she suddenly heard a familiar voice, Willow, she could hear Willow! Despite the comfort of a famliar voice though, what she heard did not offer her any hope, in fact it was quite the oppossite, what she heard was Willow's voice calling out in terror and confusion much like hers had.
Willow: "Ahhh! cough cough Agh! Gross wh-what is that stuff? Oh Titan, it's your, your cum! Ah! NO! Get off of me, no stop! Ahh~! O-ohhh~! Fuck, t-that shouldn't, ahh~! W-what? A plant lady bu-but I mmm~!"
Luz didn't need to wonder about the strange change in tone before Willow had seemingly been silenced by a plant woman of some kind, she knew what had caused it. The amazing nearly godlike cock of a goblin. The moment its cock had entered her pussy she had felt something break in her, something fundamental, and she knew that if it came in her pussy she'd never be fixed. What scared her more than anything though, was that she didn't want to be fixed. The pleasure of this monster, its cock buried in her cunt, pounding against her cervix as its tongue raped her mouth was too good, she needed this, she couldn't think of how she'd ever lived without it, how she'd thought she could ever be satisfied with another girl like Amity.
As his hot hard cock stretched her pussy, molded her into his breeding bitch, she barely noticed as the sound of fighting could be heard. The hard cock inside of her pounded her, made her pussy clench around it as she was driven from climax to climax, cumming harder than she'd thought possible. She didn't notice as an abomination ridden by Amity plowed into the room, a naked and disheveled Amity panting on top as she looked around, a cluster of unconscious or dead goblins behind her.
Amity: "Luz!"
She didn't notice or even see her girlfriend's look of horror, anger, and then defeat flash over her face, all Luz could see was the goblin god fucking her, all she could hear was its cock plapping into her pussy, all she could taste was its euphoric tongue in her mouth, and all she could smell was its erotic musk filling her nostrils. So she didn't react when a heartbroken and hopeless Amity fell to the floor, desperately calling out to her as goblins piled into the room behind her, pinning her down as they started to fuck her, to break her. All she knew when Amity was being raped was that her new master, her new god was cumming inside of her.
------------- Time Skip: 1 year ---------------
Luz moaned loudly, wordlessly into the air as her son fucked her, his powerful cock scraping the walls of her pussy, pounding against the very womb he had come from as his little brother sucked on her tits for the nourishing milk she produced. Next to her was a woman with golden hair and ears like a witch's though from what she could gather this one had been a princess of some sort at one point. It didn't matter now, all they were was a group of holes for the goblins, their masters to fuck and breed. Across from her Amity screamed in pleasure, cumming around one of their master's cock as they came inside of her, while Amity was already pregnant the cum was still an intense euphoric experience even if she couldn't get impregnated again right now.
If Luz had been capable of thinking about anything other than cocks in the time since she'd been captured, then she'd have noticed the one still concsious woman unbred by the goblins that had been there the day she'd been broken. A woman in a Vegas showgirl's outfit, dressed like a stage magician and spoke in backwards speech as she opened portal after portal for the goblins. She'd managed to stay largely untouched as more and more women were plundered from different worlds until the witch's children were born. After the goblins gained magic of their own, they forced the secrets of portal magic from her and soon she was made to join the ranks of breeding whores.
Luz never learned just how widespread the goblin threat was, just how many worlds had been plundered, all she knew was that she was happy, and how good it felt to be filled with her master's cum.

Hello, it’s me again and I have a few more questions about the weird manly AU if that’s okay.
1) Can the portal to Florida be moved or destroyed?
2) Because all of these people are vanishing due to Manly eating their souls, have the police tried to investigate the disappearances? If they have, do they have any idea that it’s Manly who’s killing people?
3) How did Manly find out that consuming souls could prolong his existence in the regular reality?
4) How did Manly find out that leaving the regular reality erases his existence until he returns?
I may have more questions later but that’s it for now. Also thanks for responding to my original questions I was really nervous when asking them. Anyway have a nice day/night and thanks for reading my questions!
Ty for the questions and no problem :DD anyway I definitely wanna expand on some of these in the future, specifically the second one. Defo got me thinking lmao but here’s what I have for now:
It can’t be moved but it can be sealed up.
Yeah, there were a few times when the police noticed, but Manly was never caught. He realized he could’ve been though so he stuck to killing animals instead. There may be one detective who swears the seemingly random, unrelated deaths are connected to each other.
I think he just started experiencing the symptoms of his human form slipping up after not eating souls for a year. His human form kept degrading from there to the point where leaving the house was impossible, and he can only come out very late at night. One day he tried eating one again and then he suddenly felt better. Up until this point, he only ate souls because they tasted good.
The first time he returned from the other reality, of course he didn’t know at the time he had to wait. I think a neighbor struck up a conversation with him thinking he was a new face, and then all their memories of Manly came at full force. They ended up crying and getting very bad headache and nausea. It took a similar interaction after the second time he returned to realize that maybe talking to people while he’s fresh out the anti-reality was a bad idea.
