Douglass, The Nutcracker! - Blanketfort OC - Flam’s Rough Concept Art

Douglass was freed by his owner, savior, and queen, Clara, from the depths of the dusty, dreaded, catacombs of the for sale bin in the Neighborhood’s Garage Sale. The little girl absolutely adored the ornament and soon he became her knight in her games of pretend, her all time favorite toy.
Since then, he has devoted his life to do two things:
Protect her from the monsters that have been trying to plague her nightmares.
Participate in ALL of her tea parties and their playtimes she wants him to. NO EXCEPTIONS! If it makes his Queen happy, he will gladly accompany her in her merriment!
He is throughly decorated with girly, pretty stickers. The nutcracker cherishes them and wears them as a badges of honor. He is also known to make creaking wood sounds as he walks of turns, startling most of the toys around him.
Douglass is a kindhearted soul with a tough exterior. As menacing as he is on the outside, especially with his sharp, broken off leg and unsettling jaw, he is a joy to be around. Everyday he works to protect Clara from harm and develop her creativity through their play. He also acts as a leader/mentor figure to the toys who become sentient around him in the neighborhood.
Despite his appearance, Clara chose him. Loved him. And that touched his heart to give him life. As long as his soul lasts, he vows to be her knight and friend!
A little fun fact! He’s loosely based off an old nutcracker ornament I grew attached to as a kid. It ended up breaking eventually, but I’ll keep it in my memory with this character!! I hope you guys enjoyed reading. ❄️🎄⚔️
