No plan, no practice, no expectations. And tbh for a clangen comic, that's what I would recommend most people do! I mean, have some planning if you want, but don't wait until you are 'good enough' because it won't happen.

I get bogged down by brainstorming, which is why every other comic/idea i've had has ultimately died/never started, the clangen format makes me less focused on it, i think

i am having. Many Thoughts. about my HWINEBHABWNAJCAHOWEEATOWEUB AU Ford, so here are some unfiltered rambles about him <3

The entire premise of this AU is that it goes exactly the same as canon right up until Bill betrays Ford steals Fiddleford's eyes, and then Ford kills Bill in retaliation. Everything just sorta snowballs into a huge mess from there, with this sad fuck of a man SMACK BAM in the middle of it all.

I like to explore my Ford in the way he reacts to things. It's interesting to see how far I can really take it until it becomes borderline OOC, especially when he kills Bill. He didn't actually fully mean to kill him, but at the same time that was exactly his intention, if that makes any sense?

Although Bill stealing Fiddleford's sight privileges instead of Ford's was one of the main reasons that triggered Stanford's decision to murder him, I'd like to compare his act more as a frantic, desperate grasp to survive, rather than a calculated, cold revenge being enacted. I think that he was just trying to live, in that primal, undeniable fear of death that can consume anyone, even Gods. Especially Gods.

I think that, as much as Bill's murder was a moment of power reversal, in which the victim got a taste of the power their abuser had over them, it was also a moment when Gods and mortals alike became so very aware of their own helplessness in the face of sheer and blind will to just survive. I don't think that Ford felt like a God when he killed Bill. I think that Bill wasn't facing wrathful being in that moment, he was facing a mere man who was so afraid to die he was willing to do anything. But you can't blame him for that, right? You can't blame him for wanting to live? For fearing death? He's only human.

during the ten months, six days, and thirty-two minutes that itoshi sae has spent with you, he only found out now that you were actually a big fat liar.

"did you eat my snacks?"

"uhm, no?"

"you don't sound sure about that."

sae wasn't necessarily a fan of sweets (which you found quite despicable of him; who wouldn't love at least a bit of sweets every once in a while?) but there's one snack that you did manage to get him fond of—hello panda biscuits.

it wasn't too sweet, nor was it too bland either; it was perfect for sae's taste. unfortunately for him, you were also a fan of those snacks. which brings you to the confrontation that's taking place now—because apparently, the hello panda biscuits you had in stock ran out just when sae was about to eat them again.

lying wasn't the best choice; of course it isn't, but you were curious to see how sae would react once he found out that you (accidentally) ate the last pack. there are three outcomes for this:

a.) sae lets this slide and just buys another box.

b.) sae will act petty around you until you get him another box (most likely to happen).

c.) sae moves on with his life and acts like it didn't happen at all.

much to your dismay, none of these happened. there was, in fact, a fourth outcome that you weren't able to consider: sae gets his revenge on you by eating up all your snacks as well. going to the living room, you stood in front of him with a hand on your hip.

"you ate it, didn't you?"

"ate what?"

"sae, don't act dumb on me."

he raises an eyebrow at you, acting like he has no clue what you're saying. after a few attempts at pressing him about it (all failed; he just wouldn't admit it), you soon gave up and were about to leave the room before sae pulled you onto his lap.

"do you really think being affectionate is going to make me forgive you?"

"i didn't say anything when you ate my hello panda biscuits."

"so you did know about that."

"you aren't really the best at lying, you know?" he replies, pressing small kisses onto your neck.

"let's just go buy some more snacks later."

"i like the sound of that."

to be honest petrigrof wasn't the only relationship they fumbled after the main series was over. obsidian was cute but it did feel way more like fanservice than a true continuation of the relationship between marcy and pb, imo. even the way they portrayed their break-up felt a bit strange to me, since episodes like 'varmints' made it seem that they drifted apart gradually because of pb's responsibilities and marceline's refusal to grow up and never really got to talk about their frustrations with each other, not that they had a huge, bombastic (and honestly humiliating, for pb) fight about it in public

Crocodile using your embarrassment/shame to get what he wants out of you because it's such a powerful and easy tool to use. On top of the way he likes to taunt and belittle (especially in Alabasta) basement wife must feel like she's under a microscope whenever he's around, and 10x worse when actually asking for something

Ah, you're so right. He has so much more heat in Alabasta, is less calm and more of a cunning pirate than his later portrayal in the series. I think we can agree that the a-hem 'daddification' did him good but his shorter fuse, animated faces and grand words during his original arc were a treat as well.

Not only is it a tool he likes to use - it's simply fun to watch you squirm and hem and haw for days and days over tiny little favors you'd like to ask of him. Favors that are entirely inconsequential to him, that he'd allow you with a wave of his hand if you were to ask him with a bit more fervor. You've been around for long enough to know better; to know that good behavior gets you pretty much everywhere. And still you fear him, cower in front of his authority like a shaky-legged calf... He enjoys that level of respect you have for him, finds it entertaining and quite cute how tiny you can make yourself. And if you're already willing to show him your soft belly over something like a simple book you'd like to read, why not ask for a little more? You're already offering, aren't you?

hello, hello, you all — so... i hope you all are having a great thursday thus far, and i thought i'd bring this up now since i hadn't before; but with ana's zombification comes some noticeable differences to his behavior as well as appearance. because, and don't get me wrong, he was already pale before... but now anastasiy's skin now has this pallor that takes on a sickly look. and it has become necessary for ana to have to apply some concealer to his skin daily to hide the fact that his lips are, indeed, sort of tinged blue + some veins (particularly around his eyes and mouth) can clearly be seen and it definitely isn't the most uhh. natural look, to say the least JSJSJ

now, i'll probably cover more about his behavioral differences later, but one thing is that this man does have these SICK and TWISTED urges to consume human flesh as a zombie would in typical fiction would... so that's lovely / j LMAO nahhh, i'm totally being sarcastic with y'all right now as that is actually horrifying. but anastasiy does try his darndest to resist giving into this temptation because cannibalism is a BIG no-no in society for a reason (because its absolutely terrible and extremely gross) + with... slightly mixed results 😬
