As a kid of like 7 in 2007 I played a lot of a website called Bin Weevils because it was big at my school. It was like club penguin if it was about disgusting bugs living in a pile of trash. And my best friend at the time, who told me abt the site, told me that "everyone was making their usernames foly and then a number." And they were like, foly19. So I made myself foly27. I hated the username. I used it the entire time I played that game. And btw nobody else was called foly.

Name: Traffikrab

Debut: Cassette Beasts

Cassette Beasts is a game where one of the most common battle monsters around is a traffic-themed hermit crab creature! Isn't that wonderful? The traffic cone is not actually part of its body, but it fits oh so well, considering its traffic light-like face! I think the light is its eye, but it is possible that its angry eyebrows are actually eyestalks. Either way is good!

Another wonderful thing about Traffikrab and friends is that they are Plastic type! This game has most of the classic elemental types, along with a few fun surprises like Plastic, which probably has my favorite creatures overall. I love when fictional creatures have very artificial/created vibes! It's like these things are robots but also not at the same time!

Traffikrab can be remastered (equivalent of evolution) into a few different options...

Lobstacle is the defensive choice, and has the best name of the line! This crustacean wants to be in the way, and is good at it. It wears a construction barrel rather than a cone, and I don't think I've ever really seen construction barrels given a media spotlight, so that is very cool! Its antennae/eyebrows are now striped with caution colors with a big ol "no" sign in the middle. This is the logical extreme of a traffic hermit crab! But not the end of the concept's creativity!

Weevilite is the result of a Traffikrab remastering to a ranged attack-focused form instead, and it is my personal favorite of the two options! The traffic cone seems to have transformed into a more proper abdomen, and the focus is now on its traffic light head and neck, which is so cool! From the name and the long neck, you may recognize this as being inspired by a giraffe weevil, yet another thing I don't think I've ever seen as a monster design basis. If the light was its eye, it now has a second eye, right under the first. When people record video with their phone vertically, they're not doing it for fellow humans. They're doing it to show Weevilite!

Finally we have the most special crab of all in this game! Not a Traffikrab, but Magikrab, who inhabits a wizard's hat and has a purple eye that perhaps evokes a crystal ball! Traffic cones and wizard hats are similar things, really. Once I saw an fire hydrant gushing water, with a traffic cone on top of it. You better believe I immediately recognized it as a metal wizard casting a Water Blast Spell!

Magikrab appears throughout the game as a friendly NPC, who can talk, and is very polite and enthusiastic! It is always very happy to open up train stations for you to travel between. I wish the government was much more like this magical crustacean! Or better yet, replaced entirely by it!

sunnycotton has got me thinking about the "asking someone out with an insect" fallenclan tradition, and so i've decided to compile a little list of what insects i think have been used in the past... there are so many cool insects i WANTED to add but i'm going to try and be at least. semi-realistic. about what types of insects these mountain cats could plausibly have found.

antbite/lionsong = asian longhorned beetle

moorthistle/littleleaf = monarch butterfly caterpillar (specifically a caterpillar because of its soft texture - neither of them killed it. moor gave it to little for him to inspect and once he realized what she meant he instantly accepted. she later returned the caterpillar to the milkweed plant it had been on)

russetflare/cinderstone = eastern-eyed click beetle (russet was SO proud of catching one, cinder was reluctantly impressed)

willowsplash/bub = boll weevil

blizzardfang/crowflame = pill bug (roly-poly)

nettlestem/scorchstar = indigo duskywing skipper butterfly

newtscar/bluefern = spotted orbweaver (BEFORE evie joined the polycule)

newtscar/bluefern/evie = silver arigiope (after learning of the tradition, evie found one of these guys for his wives)

goldenstar/morningbloom = yellow garden spider

beefreckle/jaycall = praying mantis

cloudtuft/pondshine = green lynx spider (pond was like "cool thx!" at first and then cloud had to explain the tradition)

flyspots/wormshade = the spongy moth (wormshade didn't know about the tradition, being the kit of an ex-kittypet, and reluctantly accepted, confused. hence why flyspots thought they were mates)

pebblefreeze/human = brown centipede (these two aren't mates, and i see them as more of a QPR situation, but i feel like pebble would've given human a brown centipede anyway. he was horrified)

-🐉(i am in no way an insect expert, esp in regards to location so these still might be wildly impossbile. that's ok tho, fallenclan can exist in a pocket dimension with all the insects)

CUTE!!!!!!!!! all around very good choices (canonizing littlemoor monarch caterpillar & blizzardcrow pill bug bc AUGHHHH <3), i love the way your mind works... also pebble giving human a centipede really makes me giggle

I love 'The Post-Traumatic Manifesto'

It's a small project made by the creator Weevildoing, and I've been obsessing. And considering I'm. Experiencing. I'm gonna force my love for this series onto everyone else.

Various headcanons be upon ye all:

There are two girls who could be considered "early risers" - Caliber and Irreverent. Caliber because she works a 9-5 on top of going to the gym, and Irreverent because the religious sermons co attended has influenced her sleep schedule. Co, however, prefers them nowadays to watch the sunrise :)

Also Caliber wakes up that early to either make coffee at home or splurge on fancy coffee - fancy coffee is saved for holidays, rough days, or as a littol treat. She will never admit to that third one though.

Girls with the most FUCKED sleep schedule include Splitter (to no one's surprise), Disposable, Fainant (<- hear me out-), and Caliber.

Splitter is splitter (/affect i adore her). Disposable likes to stay up late playing bideos games, watching anime, scrolling tumblr (ILL GET BACK TO THIS LATER), or researching conspiracy theories. Fainant WOULD have a normal sleep schedule in their ideal life but due to their ME/CFS and many other disabilities and chronic issues they kinda just have accepted her sleep schedule will always be a bit fucky. And Caliber, despite being an early riser is prone to working late. Go to bed at 2 and wake up at 6 kinda lady. This is why she needs coffee.

Chocobo would LOVEEE to work as a barista. Not at fuckbucks but like. If he could get paid properly and be considered a Cool Barista:tm: it'd be THRIVING.

Adding onto that; if it were a barista she'd work at the same coffee shop Caliber visits and Caliber describes him as "the sweetheart who writes nice notes on her cups and can make a killer hazelnut latte."

Splitter and Disposable are friends - semi-long distance, like an hour - and they bond over anime, games, and all the out-there shit they both like/believe (conspiracies and such). They keep each other up watching anime or gaming over discord its amazing. They also both confide in each other about violent or s/h related urges, just kinda listening and going along. They're both SEVERELY mentally ill so they dont really try to give advice; theyll just mutually acknowledge it and be like "yeah that shit sucks. ill hate it/them with you tho."

^^^everytime they meet up they spend at least 3 days together.

Chocobo and Fainant are also friends. Specifically, Chocobo loves to bake sweets for Fainant and Fainant will invite Bo over for frequent movie nights, tea parties, and general hangout sessions lot. Chocobo is one of few people Fainant will willingly go out with because he is willing to leave as soon as they say theyre getting tired.

Chocobo and Irreverent are the UNLIKELY DUO!!! Chocobo is excitable and sociable and anxious and Irreverent is aloof and a lil socially detached but a good logical counterpart who isn't as worried about what others think.

To that end, Chocobo is an age regressor (between ages 10-14 usually) - it won't do it in front of many people, but he trusts Irreverent to caregive. Co makes sure to be extra careful with Bo's boundaries during these times.

Taxidermy and Chocobo don't know eachother BUT Fainant knows Taxidermy and has been intending to introduce the two.

Taxidermy and Fainant never go out. Unlike Chocobo, Taxidermy is the friend Fainant will scroll on their phone with and occassionally send memes for hours then go out for McDonald's at 2 am.

OH ALSO. Splitter and Fainant are work buds. They work at the McDonalds mentioned above. They talk over discord and also send each other memes.

Im not sure how many of you follow Weevil on instagram but. there was a post where Bo very clearly has a crush on Disposable and honestly. Yeah.

For context, there's a skate park near the cafe - and Disposable skateboards there and practices moves on railings and shit. One time Chocobo saw Disposable successfully pull off a kickflip coming off a rail and it's heart went doki-doki.

Splitter has met Chocobo in person a total of two times - the cafe is a rare safe place for Splitter and Disposable to hang out in a dark corner - and both times she could SEE Chocobo staring.

She has tried to get Disposable to talk to him. It is VERY hesitant. Next time Splitter visits she plans to drag Disposable over to Chocobo.

Okay so anyway hard pivot back to Caliber and CHEMICAL!!

Chemical canonically loves rhythm games and fitness - what I'm saying is that she attends the same gym as Caliber and they share a Zumba class.

Whenever Caliber is there Chemical is lovingly on her ass - making sure she drinks water and always inquiring about her home life. Caliber spares details, not wanting to worry a LITERAL TEENAGER, but takes her advice to stretch and drink water.

Caliber admires Chemical's high energy and boldness - and constantly tells her to use those strengths to her advantage. Chemical doesn't seem to fully believe her but appreciates it anyway.

Chemical sees Caliber as an older sister figure for sure.

Chemical is another friend of Fainant! They don't hang out as much as Taxidermy or Chocobo but Chemical helps Fainant stay as active as they can with all their disabilities.

Same for Splitter. She got Splitter into rhythm games. They also geek out about figmas, gundams, and garage kits together.

A decent chunk of the girls deal with feelings of nonhumanity btw - not even just in a trauma way. Fully convinced Disposable is a dog therian and is trying to unlearn its inner cop.

I come bearing a selection of cool beetles/bugs for your viewing pleasure.

Photo 1: Male Rhino beetle I believe. Found this guy in the city with no greenery in sight during a heatwave a few years back so I collected him and kept him until the weather was ideal then released him in nearby bushland. A gentle giant who absolutely adored tomatoes and would go through 2 cherry tomatoes daily.

Photo 2: A Saffron Beetle I believe. First and only one of these I’ve come across.

Photos 3 & 4: Pie Dish Beetle. These guys are interesting because they have a flattened edge around their wing casings and if you disturb the they’ll tilt their body’s to the side which works with this flattened edge to make them extremely difficult to pick up. Included a close up of the head because I find their eyes to be very interesting to look at.

Photos 5 & 6: Botany Bay Weevil. One of my favourite insects because of the pattern and color combo. Got lucky enough to be filming when it took flight so got a good still of the wings extended.

Photo 7: Fiddler Beetle. I find a lot of these late in the year around my hedges and the vibrancy of the green markings is amazing.

Photo 8: I believe a Metallic Jewel Bug (Scutiphora Pedicellata?) found last year on a footpath.

excellent bugs! fiddler beetles always look painted to me, they’re such an artificial color
