✮ lockscreen

notes. i love veritas sm
“am i your lock screen?”
“what?”
“am i on your lock screen?” you asked once more, leaning closer to veritas. he instinctively leaned back, hiding his phone behind his back. “what? why are you hiding your phone from me?”
veritas clears his throat, straightening his back. he pushes you using his free hand, phone still behind his back. “nothing. i’m not hiding anything.”
“you liar!” you exclaimed, crossing your hands over your chest. “i can’t believe you. i put you- well us, on my lock screen and you don’t? do you not love me?” you asked dramatically, placing a hand over your heart.
“stop, don’t be dramatic.” veritas scowls. “you’ll live. not being my wallpaper doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.”
you gasped. “don’t say that! what if i suddenly disappear one day and your wallpaper is the only thing that reminds you of me? what if all the photos in your gallery suddenly vanished and your wallpaper is the only one in there?”
veritas' lips twitched. “you’re being ridiculous. none of that will ever happen.”
“remember that one time your phone suddenly switched off by itself and won’t turn on anymore?” you start picking your nails, ignoring the way veritas' face changed. “and all your photos and data disappeared?”
veritas sighs. “do you really need to see my lock screen that bad?”
“yes!” you stretched your hand out, patiently waiting for rin to place his phone on your hand. instead of doing that, he holds his phone before you, clicking the power button so it turns on.
his lock screen is a picture of you on one of your first dates with him. it was in an amusement park and you were wearing one of the headbands they were selling there. it’s a blurry picture of you since you were moving in that picture, but you can faintly see the smile on your face, remembering how happy you were when the date happened.
“aw, veritas! i didn’t know you were such a sap! do you love me that much?” you teased.
“shut up, y/n.”

Super ooc, probably. But imagine. Veritas as an overprotective-ish boyfriend.
Hes so easily jealous. Its not even funny anymore. You make light conversation with someone, and when he spots you laughing, his mood is uncertain and he's all up in your face trying to know what exactly you were laughing about. Tell him whats so funny! What was it?!
He's so pouty. Ugh. Ughhhhh. Fine, maybe he's a bit overboard (he only ever dares whisper this to himself. He would never, under any circumstances admit this to you). Maybe you snap a lil at him for being so pushy, and he huffs and storms away, but the next time you see him you can't even be angry – it's almost comical how pouty and "upset" he is (he just wants your attention, probably).
So so touchy. And he won't even deny it. Arm always around your waist making your skin damp and sweaty. Hands that are super grabby, manage to intertwine fingers regardless of what you're doing and where you are. His hands are ALWAYS on you and it's almost annoying. But he's SO dramatic about it aswell, when you say it's stuffy (lets be real, his huge mucles aren't helping with the ventilation in summer), and he's immediately on the other side of the room, pouting and huffing all over again because fine. He'll give you all the space you need. Of course, it's not long before he comes back searching for you again.
Veritas who actually, on the off-chance you vent to him, listens intently. He's quiet, and his observant gaze almost makes you stop talking from how.. deeply he seems to be probing into your eyes. He can't help it. He hates when something actually personally hurts you – there's an agonizing, twisting bitterness that spreads over his chest when your eyes tear up the slightest bit. Aeons, he's horrifying when his rage is quiet and seething. Anyone who wrongs you, and anyone who brings you to such a small state makes him grit his teeth quietly. Of course, first comes comforting you. This time, you don't complain about the stuffiness. Perhaps, it's more comforting feeling wrapped by such huge arms. His heartbeat is quiet, as he forces you to rest your head against his chest. He continues to seethe quietly on your behalf for the next few days; even scaring you from time to time.
His scowl is cute too, if you really look at it. Maybe if you mention it to him, he'll return back to his usual demeanor..?

Dr.Ratio x Student!Reader
Word Count͟͟͞͞➳❥ 6.6k (One-Shot)
Reader is gender neutral !afab // Not proofread
A/N͟͟͞͞➳❥English is not my first language so I apologize for any grammar errors. I've never properly written NSFW before as I'm violently Ace. I'm also more used to writing longer stories so I apologize if anything feels rushed. I've tried my best. This is purely self-indulgent
Cw ➳❥ age gap (reader is 25, Ratio is 30), porn with plot, dubcon?, P in V, masturbation, mutual pinning (they’re in denial), slight OOC, Cunnilingus, licking, Dr.ratio being mean, Ratio being referred as Veritas(towards the end), mentions of private parts, softcore porn, soft dom, kinda slow burn?,
Summary ➳❥ When you arrived at the academy, you immediately caught the eye of Dr.Ratio. The genius felt both amazed and irritated by your methods.
Dr. Ratio was thought to be free of carnal emotions. The man pried himself on being free of idiocy, free of impulsive thoughts and actions. Everything he does is meticulously planned. From the way he teaches to the way, he bathes in the evening. He was known to be one of the strictest and hardest teachers in the guild, his class barely making the 10% pass mark. Not only did you need to figure it out yourself, but you had to prove you wanted to learn. His reputation was kept up carefully and preceded him. Even though he wasn’t liked by the majority of students in the academy, everyone knew better than to disrespect him. He’s earned his attitude, to everyone’s misfortune.
Every day was the same for Dr.Ratio. The same idiotic student asking the same idiotic questions, the disappointment he felt towards his coworkers, and the stability of his reputation keeping its ground. Only when you arrived, that his foundation start to crack. You weren’t special at first, simply a new arrival to the academy. Your attitude was over-optimistic and light-hearted. He hated the way you were carefree about your teachings. It didn’t take long for him to indirectly target his attitude towards you. For what you had in personality, your intellect deceived it. Every time he came at you with an impossible equation or theory, you would calmly come out with multiple answers, no matter if they were wrong or not. He’d berate you for your ‘’stupidity’’ as he said it. You stayed unfazed, simply stating:
-’’ You can’t succeed without failing, that is the process of learning.’’
He was both annoyed and somewhat impressed by your calm, carefree answer to his berating. He scoffed before leaving you alone for that day. The interaction gave you some attention from classmates who were more afraid of him. Over the next few months, you became more popular with the students in his class, even tutoring some of them. You had a more gentle approach than Ratio when explaining material to your fellow students.
Ratio heard about your little tutoring work and decided to observe from afar. He stood away from the table you and the student you’d be helping that way were seated. His plaster mask was on his complexion to hide his expression, helping him concentrate on the work you were doing. He listened as you talked calmly to the student who was having a hard time. He was expecting you to just give the answer away, like any other idiot would to make another idiot shut up, but you didn’t. As the student looked distressed from the assignment, you stayed optimistic asking questions to direct the student in the right direction without giving them the right answer. You listened to the student as they spewed an egregious amount of terrible theories. You never lost your cool, explaining the equation as much as you needed to. When the students apologized for being stupid, you shushed them.
-’’ If you were stupid, you wouldn’t give me answers in the first place. They may be wrong, but it proves you’re thinking. You’ll figure it out soon or later.’’ Your voice was soft, caring and hushed down. A bold contrast to Dr. Ratios's class.
Ratio witnesses the interaction with a seemingly blank face. He didn’t understand how you were able to deal with so much idiocy. You had potential, potential wasted on helping idiots. Nonetheless, a part of him was impressed by your patience and stable emotional state. He didn’t necessarily agree with your methods, thinking you were too soft, but credit is due where it’s due. He left the premises with a wandering thought.
The next class with him arrived and you sat in your usual spot. It took a while for everyone else to arrive. Once everyone was seated, you all waited patiently for Dr.Ratio to arrive. To everyone's detriment, your teacher arrived with an enormous pile of papers. He slammed the stack on his desk making a loud slamming noise before he turned towards the blackboard to write today’s plans. Everyone groaned as the words ‘’surprise test’’ appeared on the board. Some students started to freak out while others just sighed in exhaustion. Ratio wasn’t going to make it easy for you huh? He took the plaster mask off of his face and placed it on his desk before facing the class. He looked unimpressed by everyone’s reactions.
-’’ Today, we’re going to see if you have been listening so far this semester.’’ He beamed loud enough for the whole classroom to hear. ‘’ You have an hour, no more no less, to answer these questions.’’
The whole class reluctantly mutters a ‘’yes, sir’’ as Ratio starts handing out the papers to each student. You reached out to your hand to take the papers. When it was your turn you carefully grabbed the papers but it resisted your pull. Ratio wasn’t letting go of it until you looked up at his eyes. He was staring you down mischievously, piercing your gaze with his gold, crimson eyes. The fainted grin on the corner of his lips. You felt your heart skip a beat as you helplessly stared at his face. He let go of the paper when your gaze reached his.
-’’ I expect better from you, y/n.’’ He states coldly, before continuing his route.
You were left speechless and flustered. You had to force your heart from skipping too many beats. You always thought your teacher was good-looking. You thought his attitude would be enough to throw you off, but your feelings were speaking otherwise. When the test started, you tried your best to concentrate, but the image of his eyes gazing into yours was making your brain overheat. Somehow you manage to write down mostly acceptable answers. You didn’t know how you kept your cool through it all. Not only was the test unprepared, but it was challenging. You could hear the discouraged sighs of your classmates. An hour passed and Ratio hollered the students to put their pens down. As he collected the paper, the tension in the classroom escalated. The students weren’t happy and it showed. When it was your turn, Ratio took your copy out of your hand. He gave it a quick look, frowning but scoffing and placing it on the pile. Well, that’s encouraging.
When every copy was collected, Dr.Ratio announced for the class to be dismissed, to which every student ecstatically ran off. You sighed in relief, ready to walk home and relax. As you pack your bags, a voice disturbs your thoughts.
-’’ y/n, stay here, I want to have a word with you.’’ Ratio exclaimed loudly.
Some of your classmates gave you apologetic looks, feeling bad for you. You gave Dr.Ratio a look, annoyed at the sudden order. You reluctantly sat back down on your chair. By the time everyone left, you were all alone with him. He took his sweet doing whatever he needed to do. You decided to bring out a book from your bag, reading meticulously. After a while, you looked up from your book to find Dr.Ratio grading the papers in front of you. Was he seriously going to make you wait here until he finished grading the entire stack? You sighed, aggravated. You look back down on your book, reading for what felt like hours. Suddenly, a slam in front of you breaks your concentration. You put your book down, only to see a graded paper in front of you. It’s a failed mark. You thought it was your copy until you read the name.
-’’ That’s not my name.’’ You stated calmly, staring up at the man towering over you. Your heart jumped again, but you kept composure.
-’’ Good to know you can read.’’ He says with a scoff on his face. ‘’ Your tutoring student hasn’t learned it seems.’’
You widen your eyes slightly, it was indeed a classmate you tutored the other day. You raised your eyebrow suspiciously at Ratio. How did he-
-’’ I saw you trying to tutor him, it was excruciating to watch.’’
Oh, that’s how. You winced at his with an air of confusion. Then it clicked in your mind. The sudden test happened the day after your tutoring session. Did he seriously prepare an entire test because he felt disdain at your attempt to help your classmates?
-’’ Did you create this test to prove me wrong?’’ You mutter, slightly aggravated.
He looks at you for a while, his eyes piercing deep into yours. You couldn’t help but think how pretty he was even with his dignified attitude.
-’’ How perceptive of you.’’ He grinned, amused by your reaction. ‘’ I wanted to prove to you how unproductive your methods are.’’
Your eyes widen, taken off guard by his bold confession. You couldn’t keep a snarl off your face. He has all the right to be unreasonable with you, but not with people who struggle to understand his teachings. So what if you were softer than him? So what if you had a more empathic approach to teaching than he did? You were more emotionally driven than him, but what is the issue with that? It made you feel some anger at the thought. If it wasn’t for the way he made your heart skip beats, you’d have the courage to tell him off then and there. Unfortunately for you, you folded way too easily to his expression on you. He observed your expression closely, a smirk appearing as he noticed your change in composure.
-’’ That is all, you are free to go now.’’ He says waving you off.
You were left speechless, was he serious? This righteous, prideful asshole. You backed your bag without a word. You were fuming at this point. Hurt and baffled. You stormed towards the door, Ratio watching you leave. You opened the door with force before turning around to face him. ‘’ Just because you’re smart and handsome, doesn’t mean you have the right to bash people on the ground!’’ You exclaimed with a poisonous tone before leaving the room, letting the door slam shut behind you.
Your sudden outburst amused Ratio, before realizing what you’ve said. A look of surprise flashes on his face.
…Handsome?
You arrive at your apartment, throwing your bag on the floor, ready for this day to end. You shower, make dinner and watch the news. Blissfully unaware of what you’ve done. It’s only when you read your book in bed, the clock ticking slowly that you suddenly realize. Oh god, Oh no, You’ve just called your teacher, the man you unfortunately kinda have the hots for. You press your hands on your cheek, red from the sudden embarrassment. How were you going to face him tomorrow now….
...
The next day, you dreaded his class the entire time. You couldn’t concentrate on your other classes with the sheer anxiety you felt. Throughout the day you kept trying to rationalize yourself. Maybe he didn’t hear you. Maybe he did but simply ignored it. Maybe he’d just ignore you for the end of time now, which was honestly the better option for both of you. You couldn’t date him even if you wanted to. He was your teacher after all. Yes, the age gap wasn’t outrageous, but nonetheless. You both knew better than to succumb to these feelings, right…?
It’s finally time for your class with Dr.Ratio and you couldn’t be more dreadful about it. You take a deep breath, composing yourself to ask like everything is fine. You enter the classroom, happy to see you’re not the only one who has arrived. You sit in your regular spot, taking out your notes. The class fills slowly. Hours seem to pass as you anxiously await Ratio to enter and start today’s lesson. You still felt insulted by his game yesterday, the feelings mixing, confusing you further. You couldn’t wait to see him, as much as you dreaded his presence. Your thoughts wander, visualize his eyes, his hair and his chest. Wait, What? You shook your head, brushing the thought off. No, you could let yourself have a crush on him. At this moment, Ratio enters the room, bringing the class to a hush. He looks at the students in front of him, with an air of disdain. His gaze suddenly jolts towards you. Your heart jumps again, unable to tell the emotions behind his eyes. He sighs coldly, turning towards the blackboard to write down today’s subject. -‘’ Today’s lesson is about the basics of combinatory. Do not disappoint me.’’ He states. You couldn’t help but feel as if that warning was targeted at you.
The class ended, and you’re putting away your notes and pencils. You have tutoring planned for after class. Considering the subject you were freshly taught, it wouldn’t be a surprise if multiple showed up. You hurried your pace, rushing towards the door. Before you were able to leave, you felt a strong hand take hold of your wrist. The grip itself was firm, but not too harsh. You looked back in surprise to see Dr.Ratio next to you. Your thoughts exploded, anxiety rising. Did he hear what you said? Did he not forget? You try helplessly to hide the flushed expression on your face, hoping it won’t throw him off. He towers over you, his expression blank, his eyes devouring yours in interest. You gulp silently as you slowly meet his gaze, unable to avoid his muscly chest in the process. He squints his eyes in response.
-’’ I-Is there an issue professor?’’ You manage to murmur out. His grip on your wrist loosens. He gives you a seemingly unamused look.
-’’ Mind if we…discuss before you head toward your tutoring?’’ He asks coldly.
You gulp silently, surprised by this impromptu proposition. You accept reluctantly. A smirk appears on his face. He leans towards you slightly.
-’’ Wait here, while we wait for the crowd to leave.’’ He states with an expressionless look on his face.
Dr.Ratio watches you as you head back to your seat. He watches you as you sit down nervously. Unbeknownst to you, he’s been thinking about your words all night last night. He as always found you attractive from a distance. You’re even more beautiful from up close. The ways your eyes shine, and the way your cheek turns rosy from his attention. Unfortunately, he wasn’t here to fulfill any type of fantasy. Actually, he was going to break your heart. A teacher-student relationship is less than ideal, and you both had a reputation to keep. You weren’t hard to read, especially for a genius like him. Although the thought of making you cry gave him a pit feeling in his stomach, it was the best for everyone. To shatter your wishes, whether you knew they were impossible or not. Keeping you at a safe distance even if it meant never having a chance to rebuild any kind of interaction with you ever again.
His gaze goes back to you once everyone has left. The class is silent as he locks the door. He doesn’t anyone to barge inside, making this hard moment harder for you. He was going to shatter you after all. He walks slowly towards his desk, the sounds of his shoes and your breathing echoing through the room. He calls you over. You put away the book you’ve been reading, awaiting him. You sit up and approach him as he leans on his desk. You stand in front of him, feeling minuscule.
-’’ What do you wish to discuss?’’ You ask, avoiding his gaze.
Ratio studies your face carefully, feeling his dedication falter now that you’re close. He gives you an unamused look, which raises your anxiety. He sighs. He raises his hand, about to speak before you cut him off.
-’’ If it’s about my outburst towards you yesterday, I apologize!’’ You exclaim, your cheeks were rosy from embarrassment. You bow to him in respect.
Ratio is caught off guard, staring at you with widened eyes. You manage to blank his thoughts for a few seconds.
-’’ I shouldn’t have lost composure in front of my superior, I take full responsibility.’’ You continue. Your heart squeezes when you hear him scoff.
Dr.Ratio looks at you still bowed, a conflicted look on his face. He couldn’t help to think how adorable you looked, but he couldn’t help to also fear his feelings towards you. He was here to break your heart, to make you run away from him, but your sudden apology caused his brain to stop for the first time in forever. He finds himself wanting two things at the same time. He wanted you, your lips on his, but inside he fought those thoughts. He couldn’t. It would be unjust for you. He couldn’t let himself play with such a fragile dynamic. His rationality was slowly losing its grip on his conscience.
You stayed bowed, awaiting a scolding or any kind of punishment, but it never came. You feel a gentle hand on your shoulder.
-’’ Stand up y/n.’’ He says, guiding your shoulder up.
You meet eye-to-eye with him again. You notice a change in his expression. He looks embarrassed and conflicted. You decide not to comment on it. Your face flushes from the sight. You both stare at each other like this for what feels like an eternity. After a while, he takes his hand off your shoulder.
-’’ You are forgiven. Go home.’’ He says almost sheepishly.
You nod slowly, taking a few steps back. You could cut the tension with a knife, as you slowly take your bags and head for the door. Ratio watches you. His gaze never leaves your body. When you leave his class without a word, he sighs, dejected. He wasn’t able to break your heart.
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧NSFW Past This Point✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
It's the next day, and although today was free, you couldn’t stay inside. As you walk around the guild station, your mind wanders to the events of last night.
When you finally went home after the tutoring session, you couldn’t get Ratio out of your mind. Before bed, you were unable to dissipate the tension inside your body. Shamelessly, you ended up stimulating your clit with your fingers, imagining they belonged to Ratio instead. Pathetically moaning out his name softly out of your lips.
You snapped yourself back to reality, hoping to forget that shameful night. You couldn’t keep fantasizing about him forever, it would hinder your studies, He was way out of your league anyway. He’s your superior, not your classmate. Yet, you couldnt wrap your head about how he acted with you yesterday after class. He was acting strange as if he had more to say. Maybe he felt something that day too? You quickly shake those thoughts away. You end up walking through the academic district, finding a bench to rest on. You quietly observed the trees and the plants around you, enjoying the calm.
Dr. Ratio walked out of his office, plaster mask on his face. He was growing increasingly infuriated at the lack of concentration he was getting. His mind is still on the adorableness of your expression when apologizing to him, unable to decide if he can embrace you or not. You bring out the worst of him, the carnal desires that he so hopelessly tries to avoid in the name of intellect. He leaves the premises, deciding to take a well-deserved walk, surely some fresh air will bring him back to his senses. As he walked through the academic he thought about how his life as been out of balance since you appeared. Your body, your mind, it makes him go insane. He couldn’t keep his gaze off of you in class and it frustrated him. He can only hope to keep his distance from now on. Ratio knew you somehow had some form of attachment towards him. This game was getting more and more dangerous. This isn’t something you’d want so carelessly. Something suddenly caught the corner of his eyes. He turns around and sees you sitting peacefully on a bench across from him. His mind reels. He sighs heavily in frustration, his rationality thrown out of the window.
Your eyes are closed, breathing deeply to enjoy the fresh air. Your mind slowly calms as you find yourself free of thoughts. Unfortunately for you, fate had other plans. You feel the bench shift in weight, someone has sat down next to you. You open your eyes only to be welcomed by Dr.Ratio himself. He sat, his legs slightly spread his profile face to you, His mask was on as he stared in front of him. He doesn’t speak for a while, as if he’s ignoring you. Your mind goes haywire once more, flashbanging you with thoughts of last night and recollections of yesterday’s events. You visibly blush, turning the back of your head against him. Tension sets above the both of you, and an uncomfortable silence sets in.
Your body lit a flame inside of you, once you desperately tried to distinguish. You wanted him, there was no denying it, yet you couldn’t find yourself to admit it.
Ratio finally looked at you, witnessing your overwhelmed behaviour. He called out your name, to which you turned to face him. Behind his mask, Ratio’s eyes widened slightly. Your face was flushed, frustrated. He looked away from you once more, covering the mouth of his mask as if he was pondering. You looked at him curiously, your mind reeling. He groans heavily before grabbing your hand and dragging you away from there. You’re forced to follow him close behind, you try to free yourself from the grip, but he won’t budge. Ratio enters the building with you and barely throws you into his office. -’’ Hey! What the hell!’’ You shouted as he shut the door and locked it behind him.
The mask made it impossible for you to read his emotions or his intentions. He approached you angrily, making you back up until your ass eventually bumps on his desk. Your arms reach behind you, gripping at the edge of the desk to hold yourself. Ratio stands in from of you, towering over you. You stare helplessly at the blank-faced mask. He leans towards you, preventing you from running away. -’’ Confess to me.’’ He blurts out, seemingly unfazed. You widen your eyes, a gasp leaving your throat. -’’ I- Excuse me?!’’ -’’ I know how you feel about me, you’re not hard to read. Quite easy actually. So confess, let me reject you, and we can move on and forget anything ever happened.’’ You stare at him appalled. A mixture of embarrassment and need curling inside your stomach. You felt insulted by the hurtful words, but you found yourself questioning what he meant. If he knew how you felt from the start, why pressure you like this? It’s not like you were planning to confess. You were ready to let these feelings die, so why was he so insistent to reject you in person? It clicked. Heat rises to your face. -’’ You feel the same.’’ You blurt out, sounding less surprised than you intended to.
Ratio’s body tensed. He should’ve known that you would’ve figured it out. You were one of his top students after all. He sighs, unwilling to let this get out of control. -’’ Even if I did, it would be detrimental to the both of us.’’ He murmurs. -’’ I happen to be aware of the same consequences.’’ You whisper, your words rolling out of your tongue.
Your needs starting to exceed your reasoning. The memories of the sins from all night plaguing your mind. The way moaned his name and the way you yearned for his touch. Something has never felt so forbidden to you. Yet, your core felt like it was on fire. Ratio noticed the gradual fissures in your expression. He leans in closer, irritated by both you and the way his body yearned for the same things as you.
-’’ Are you aware of what would happen if-’’ You cut him off, placing your lips on the lips of the masks. You stayed there for a few seconds before pulling your head back, waiting for a reaction from him. Behind the mask, Ratio’s eyes widened. His face felt hot anf his reasoning shattered as soon as he felt the pressure on his lips. He takes a step back from you, waiting to see if you’ll run. The longer you stayed still on the edge of that desk, the more his restraint was crumbling away. He removes the mask from his face. His eyes were furrowed, piercing deep inside your gaze. His face was reddened and startled by your bold move. An almost unperceivable grin on the corner of his lips. Your eyes never left his as he placed the mask on the corner of his desk. He leaned back. You couldn’t tell if he was annoyed at you or not. His lips would graze yours if you moved an inch.
‘’ Not a word about this outside this room. Understood.’’ He whispered dominantly, his breath leaving shivers on your skin.
-’’ Not a word.’’ You whispered shakily, barely holding on to your conscience as it melted in front of him.
-’’ Damn you.’’ He groaned, placing his lips hungrily on yours. Your mouth collapsed onto each other, months of attraction crashing in this moment. You wrap your arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. Ratio lifts you slightly, placing you on the top of the desk. His hands wander on your back, making you gasp. Ratio takes the opportunity to evade your lips with his tongue, exploring its every crevice. The kiss lasts for a while until Ratio breaks it. A soft moan escapes your lips as he trails kisses from your jaw to your neck. His hands trail back to your chest, slowly unbuttoning the first few buttons of your shirt revealing your bra and breast. He moves his kisses to your collarbone.
-’’ Fuck, Ratio…’’ You whimpered.
You feel his hand grab your chin as he pulls off of you to look into your eyes. He seemed to enjoy the view, a grin at the edge of his lips.
-’’ Veritas. I order you to call me Veritas in private.’’ He commands you.
You don’t find the words to answer, but you nod eagerly. Satisfied by your obedience, Veritas places his lips on the skin of your collarbone, bruising it slightly where no one would see. A low whine opens your mouth. You could feel his grin on your skin as you sweetly sang for him. He moves one of his legs between yours, passively rubbing your core, making you whimper more as he continues to bruise your skin. He pulls back, observing his canvas with a satisfied expression. Your eyes were watery from the fire burning in your core, and your cheeks were now a deep crimson. You looked pathetic to him and he reveled at the sight.
-’’ Look at you, is this what you wanted.’’ He purred, leaning back next to your ear. His hand slipped inside your bottoms, rubbing on the wet fabric of your panties.
You simply whine as an answer, letting him do as he pleases with you. He stops teasing your folds to swiftly pull off your bottom clothes. Leaving you with only your panties on. His lips find their way back on yours, devouring your mouth once more. He goes back to teasing your folds with his hand while the other trails its way to the clips of your bra. With a swift movement, he unclips your bra, pulling it off your body to reveal your bare breast to him. He escaped you with a pop, making you whimper at the sudden loss of heat. Without rest, he teases your nipple with his tongue. You moan softly at the way he treated your body, your head melting from the arousal you were drowning in. Your panties were now wet and sticky from the stimulation. A low chuckle escapes his lips at the sound of your blissful noises. He separates his lips from your nipple, making them perky from the chilly air.
Veritas traces kisses down your waist to the inner of your thighs. Your body shutters at his touches, boosting his ego as he sees you melt before him. His thumb draws a circle on your clothes cunt, drawing sweet honeyed mean out of you. Your whole body felt hot, your core twitching at the pleasure he was giving you. Veritas scoffs at the slick on your panties.
-’’ You’ve been thinking for a while, haven’t you?’’ He growls, dangerously close to your soaking folds. The vibration makes you whimper lowly in your throat. ‘’Be a darling and take that thing off.’’ He purrs, slipping a finger under the fabric and stretching it before letting it go, slapping against your skin.
You exhale heavily, raising your thighs towards you. You push your underwear away with your head, undressing your cunt in front of him. His eyes glisten with hunger and lust. He can’t help to lick his lips, witnessing your glistening cunt. The gesture makes you embarrassed, causing you to close your legs together slightly. Veritas frowns, grabbing your thighs with his hands, and spreading them. You choke a gaps, feeling the cold air.
-’’ That’s better.’’ He chimes.
His words made you hotter, feeling more slick pooling down your cunt as he eagerly place a kiss right on your clit. You shutter, unable to move your thighs out of his rough grasp. Ratio starts leaving small pecks around your cunt, teasing you as you struggle to keep yourself together. He left a long lap with his tongue between the folds of your cunt as a warning. You barely catch your breath before he dives in, finally devouring you as if you were his last meal. A loud moan escapes your lungs, resonating in the room. Your noises decorate the room as his tongue makes its magic on you. Veritas knows how to make you feel better than you could ever imagine. He closes his eyes as he fucks your hole with his mouth, tracing circles around your folds with his tongue. He takes his time, making you feel your edge as your back collapses on his desk, spread like a piece of art only he can savour. Your juices drip down his chin as he continues to taste your essence. You were about to reach for his hair before he let go of his grip on your thighs, leaning away from your cunt. The filthy display of his chin covered in your slick twist a knot in your core. Your needy walls clench at nothing, making you desperate for some sort of release. He gazes at your expression, like a predator in the middle of devouring its prey.
-’’ Take those legs and hold them there darling~.’’ He whispers, lous enough for you to hear.
You took no time to fulfill his request. You held your thighs close to your chest, freeing his hand to properly treat you. Veritas goes back to lapping at your cunt. He slowly inserts two fingers into your soaking cunt, getting a whine out of you. He pumps them in and out of you at a slow pace, building up your high. Your breaths are erratic, and your mind is completely blank apart from the pleasure you’re receiving. Soon after, Veritas leaves a few kisses on your puffy and reddened clit, giving it a suck from time to time. The sensations make you shiver. Your skin jolts every time his mouth pleases your clit. You mewl pathetically as he curved his fingers, applying pressure to your g-spot. Veritas separates his mouth from your puffy to give you comforting kisses on your inner thigh. He fastens the pace of his fingers, driving you to the edge of insanity. As soon as you clench his fingers, so close to your release, he pulls his fingers out of you. You muffle a cry, the knot in your core loosening painfully. Your body is begging for friction, something to fill and stretch you.
Veritas gets up from his knees, whipping your fluids off his chin with his arm. A pleased grin appears on his face as he watches you lay mostly bare on his desk. You shuffle your weight slightly, feeling exposed by his gaze on you. Your hand is still holding your thigh against your perked-up breast. He leans over you, pressing the clothed prison of his hard cock twitching near your cunt. He forces the fingers he use to fuck your pussy into your mouth. You instinctively suck on them, rolling your tongue on his fingers to lick them clean. He pulls them out with a satisfied look on his face.
He gently holds your cheek within the palm of his hand, moving your face up so that he’s able to plant a soft kiss on your lips. He pulls back, a line of slick connecting you both. His gaze has softened momentarily, observing the now visible hickeys on your shoulder and collarbone.
-’’ You are a magnificent display of art.’’ He whispers, his lips gazing at yours.
You didn’t have the strength to muster an answer, only holding back a soft whine. Veritas chuckles deeply, trailing his back back on your cunt, giving it a few teaseful slaps. You squeal, feeling your hole clench at nothing. You could feel the twitches of his begging cock on your inner thigh. Veritas gets off of you to free himself from his trousers, never losing eye contact with you. His eyes glisten at the thought of fucking you right there on his desk. You shiver in anticipation. His member almost bounces out of his boxers, aching in search of relief. You stare in awe at the display in front of you. You raise your hand towards your face, attempting to hide your embarrassment. Once free of cloth, he leans back towards you, his member sloppily grinding on your cunt, soaking itself in your slick. You gasp at the sudden pressure on your core. Veritas takes hold of your wrist, moving it away from your face to reveal your flushed erotic expression. He hums, pleased with the view. He places a firm kiss on your jaw.
-’’ You’re beautiful.’’ He chimes with a heavy breath.
He positions the tip at the entrance of your cunt, applying minimal pressure to prepare you. He buries his face in the crook of your neck, placing slow and sloppy kisses. You choke a cry, wanting nothing more but for him to spread you. He answers your cry, plunging slowly inside avoiding breaking you. You gasp at the fullness as he hisses in the crook of your neck. You wrap your arms around his back, keeping him close to you. Your pussy clenches around his length as he penetrates you.
-’’ You’re so damn tight, you haven’t done this a lot haven’t you?’’ He scoffs, lifting his head to meet your gaze.
You look dazedly at him, and a few tears drop at the edge of your eyes. He kisses them off softly. You bring your arms around his neck, urging him closer to you as he starts moving his hips into you. Your hands find their way to his cheeks, pressing your lips on his and he melts into it. You both deepen the kiss between stifled moans. The obscene noises of wet skin slapping were melodic to your ears. Your pussy clenching desperately on his cock as he gradually quickens his pace. Veritas takes hold of your leg, spreading them further to fuck you to his liking. His thick cock hits all the right spots, giving you pleasure in the form of friction. He breaks the kiss with a raspy groan, feeling himself succumbing to his high. He raises his upper body, sweat dripping off of his muscles. With a hand, he pushes back the damp hair sticking to his forehead. Such an appealing view brings you close to the edge. He looks inhumanly attractive, like a statue made of marble. He seems to read your mind as you carelessly stare at him in awe. A chuckles escapes him, as he uses his now free hand to apply pressure on your neglected clit. You mewl at the sudden stimulation, but you welcome it, your legs shaking erotically. Veritas continues to fuck you, reaching deeper into you. His thumb rotates gently around the swollen clit. You feel the tip of his length barely kissing your cervix. The knot in your core tightens more and more, feeling like it’ll burst. At this point you can only shutter pathetically, exhaling gibberish begging for Veritas to let you come. Veritas is more than happy to let you, as he continues to bully your clit, slapping his cock deep into you. He grabs you waist, strong enough to leave bruises, slapping your body harshly on the base of his cock. The base of his leg now lines with a white ring of filth. He leans closer, whispering with a honeyed tone, his breathing erratic and hot.
-’’ You’re going to come for me now, right darling.’’
-’’ Ugh~Ah~ p-please fill me~’’ You manage to beg in between hot breath and the mush your brain has become.
Veritas titters breathlessly, amused by your fucked-out behaviour. He wasn’t expecting you to beg for his seed inside of you so easily. As much as he was honoured by the proposition, he was conscious enough to know this wasn’t a good idea. He kisses your sticky forehand gently.
-’’ I’m sorry, maybe next time.’’ He whispers. You feel the knot inside of you ready to burst, moaning loudly with tears in your eyes. Veritas purrs praises next to your ear, encouraging you to come on his cock. He licks a tear dripping down your cheek. The knot snaps, causing your body to vibrate vigorously under him. You grip his back with your hands, leaving marks with your nails. Your cunt clenches tight on his cock causing him to let out a single moan. He releases his grip on your thighs to hold you, guiding you through your orgasm. You whimper softly, your head buried in the crook of his neck. He suddenly let go of you, forcing a cry out of your sore throat. He pulls his cock out of your cunt to pump it with his hand. Veritas moans a swear as he lets his release splatter all over your stomach and chest. His warm come glistening on your skin.
You stare at the ceiling, unable to formulate any kind of thought. You stayed still on that desk for what felt like hours until you felt a humid rag cleaning the filth off your body. You lift yourself with your elbow, witnessing Veritas cleaning you up. In your daze state you call out to him. He turns his head towards you with a soft smile appearing on his face. He’s now fully clothed, his hair still moist from all the sweating. After finishing your clean up he leans to press a kiss on your cheek.
-’’ Let’s get you clothed, darling. We need to discuss some things.’’
You nod slowly, not sure if you understand his words. He gently lifts you from the desk, making sure you're sitting comfortably. You wrap your arms around his waist, hugging him tenderly. He huffs affectionately, wrapping his arms around your shoulders.
-’’ Let stay like this a while…’’ You murmur.
-’’ alright.’’
This is bound to be an interesting semester.

I have been binging your work!
I don't know if this breaks your trauma rule or not, but (with the guys of your choosing as long as Ratio is there) how would the guys react to losing reader (they haven't confessed feelings yet) during a mission and thinking they died. Then, the reader reappears a week later bandaged up, but alive. Maybe spouts their confession first? ˘͈ᵕ˘͈
I adore your writing. Thank you!
This is way too fucking long, so be warned. It’s like I rammed 4 mini stories in one but got lost at some point cuz I left this ask to collect dust. Also thanks for enjoying my writing it’s much appreciated. :) 🦦🐿️
Sunday:
The moment he got news that you’ve been assumed dead in the aftermath of a dangerous mission, he looses composure really quickly.
Loosing Robin was one thing but loosing you on top of that was the straw that broke the camels back.
He originally doesn’t believe that you were gone, he refuses to as he practically tears his office to shreds in a fit of anger and grief before forcing himself to regain composure and clean up after his outburst. He needed to in order to keep up the illusion that he was the levelheaded leader The Family needed in these moments of chaos and mistrust.
Even if he himself was breaking down internally alongside everyone else, hellbent on finding the culprit for your death and punishing them so severely that they’d beg for death. He’d avenge you in anyway he could, even if it meant sending out the bloodhound family on a wild goose chase that only ends in dead ends, he would get you justice no matter how it may come.
His heart had died alongside you that day.
So when a week passes and he finally has you back in his arms, all the while being carful with your wounds as his eyes searched you over in a way you weren’t use to.
‘You’re alive.’ He breathes out in relief as he then begins to laugh and rest his head against yours, breathing you in deeply as he relishes in this long awaited moment. ‘Of course you’re alive.’ He mutters.
‘Sunday,’ you began but Sunday was quite to cut you off.
‘Do you know how I felt thinking you were dead? Driving myself insane to prove that you were still alive anyway I could as not to bear the idea of walking through this life without the one person I love so dearly.’ Sunday takes a brief pauses in his monologue, feeling out of breath after having put everything out into the open before continuing. ‘I thought my heart had stopped beating that day and now I have you bad in my arms.’ Sunday then chuckles darkly as he gripped you tighter. ‘I’ll ensure that I’d never have to revisit that part of my life ever again.’
‘Sunday-‘
‘Shhh.’ Sunday cuts you off once more, pressing a kiss to your forehead as he holds you close to his chest, rubbing your back soothingly. ‘Just know that what I do after this, I do out of my love for you.’ He says against your forehead before pressing another kiss there for good measure.
Jing yuan:
Loss wasn’t new to Jing Yuan.
He has experienced it in multiple forms throughout his life, but that didn’t made the news of your death any less painful for the General.
While his mind might’ve made peace with the fact that you were gone, his heart however did not as he would find himself in the places that you often vacated to in moments of stress, or to just be left alone for a while with your thoughts. So to no longer see you in any of those hidden spots -waiting for him to find you like you usually did- only worsened the grief he felt in his heart as he sat himself down and allowed the memories to pass over him in waves.
You were both so happy together and felt a sense of fulfilment that could only be achieved when you were within the other’s presence; A feeling that was uniquely yours and yours alone that could never be replicated, ever. For no one could ever come close to replacing you, nor the companionship you and he had for each other that many assumed would blossom into something more; Jing Yuan also shared the same sentiments as they did, but just as he built the courage to push that boundary between the two of you, you were taken from him before he could utter a single word.
So when a week passes and Jing Yuan found your battered and beaten form in one of your secret spots, back resting against a tree with your eyes closed.
‘Y/n?’ He called out and your eyes opened upon hearing his voice and looking at him with a weak smile. ‘Hey General, miss me?’ You said as you struggled to get up to your feet, only to stumble forward and into Jing Yuan’s chest as his strong yet gentle hands hold you in place.
‘More than you could ever hope to know.’ Jing yuan said as he focused on how you felt beneath his hands, warm and alive.
‘I’m sorry I kept you waiting.’ You muttered against his chest as his warmth made you realised just how tired you were from everything you’ve experienced this last week alone. ‘I never meant to keep you waiting in fear that you’d forget about me if I don’t stay in your life long enough.’ You admit and Jing Yuan instinctively presses a soft kiss to the top of your head, holding you protectively.
‘I could never forget about you my beloved.’ Jing Yuan reassured you as he looked you deep into your eyes. ‘You’ve managed to carve your place within my heart and soul, so much that there isn’t a day where you aren’t all I think about, regardless of whether or not your by my side or far away.’ He finished by pressing a gentle kiss to the gauze on your cheek, chuckling upon seeing your cute attempts of burrowing your face into his chest.
‘How long have you’ve been waiting to say this.’ You asked, thankful that he was the one to admit his feelings first, as you would’ve had a hard time articulating your words as fluidly as he could.
‘For a very long time.’ Jing Yuan replied with a small smile as he then proceeded to lift you into his arms, cuasing you to squeal in surprise, as he made sure to be carful of your wounds and began walking to the nearest medics to make sure your wounds weren’t going to be trouble later on.
Aventurine:
He didn’t know what to think when you were pronounced dead, all Aventurine could feel in that moment was an overwhelming numbness that encased him entirely.
The only light left in his life had been snuffed out, plummeting him into utter and total darkness he had once been well acquainted with until you came along, giving him a reason to keep looking forward despite everything.
You were no longer here to hold onto his left hand before he could even think of hiding it behind his back out of habit, you were no longer here to be his reason, his comfort, his safe place. You were taken away from him unfairly and once again Aventurine found himself asking the same question he has been asking himself for a long time; why everyone was born into this life just to die.
So when a week passes and Aventurine finds himself sat on a bench somewhere, still not dealing well then than he was the week of your assumed passing, lost in his own thoughts when someone took a seat next to him. Aventurine was just about ready to tell them to go away, when he saw just who was sitting next to him; you.
‘I know, I look like shit but you don’t have to look at me like that.’ You spoke upon feeling his eyes gaze upon the gauze on your cheek, then towards the array of bandages that littered the rest of your body.
‘I thought you died.’ He hissed, emotion was heavy in his voice as his eyes became bleary with unshed tears as he felt his breathing become heavy with the reality that you were alive. He didn’t know what was real and what wasn’t in that moment as his mind raced. And it wasn’t until you reached out to grasp his left hand and intertwine your fingers together, squeezing, did everything finally became clear to him.
‘I thought I was too at one point but there was something that kept me from journeying over to the afterlife.’ You admit, looking over at him and smiling sweetly, wanting nothing then to calm his thoughts and reassure him that this wasn’t a dream.
‘And what was that?’ He laughs humourlessly as he stares back at you, wanting to hear what excuses you could come up with for faking being dead for a week. ‘Willpower? Determination?’
‘You Kakavasha.’ You replied straightforwardly and his breath hitched in his throat. You rarely used his actual name unless it was absolutely serious. ‘You were all I thought about as I pushed through my injuries.’ You told him as you continued. ‘Kakavasha is waiting for me was just about all I could think about for a week straight.’ You finished as though you didn’t just confess that he was your soul motivator in staying alive.
‘Really?’ Aventurine said softly, finding it impossible that he could possibly be your reason for anything. ‘Why?’
‘Yes really.’ You chuckled, pressing a kiss to his cheek as you rested your head against his shoulder. ‘As for why, it’s because I like you more then did let myself admit, but i just wanted you to know incase anything truly bad were to ever happen to me-‘
‘No.’ Aventurine cut you off suddenly, squeezing your hand as though he were afraid. ‘Nothing is going to happen to you, not now. not ever. I just got you back.’ He adds resting his head against your own in a desperate attempt of feeling more of your against him. ‘Just stay with me…please.’ He begs you in a whisper as he nuzzled further into you. ‘and don’t go anywhere I can’t follow. I don’t think I can bear the thought of loosing you again.’
You smiled softly as you just whispered back against the skin of his neck. ‘As long as you don’t go anywhere I can’t follow. I like my crush to be alive and close by even if he can be a pain in my ass sometimes.’
Aventurine chuckles, his heart becoming whole again as he made you cuddle into his side, kissing your head once more as you took this moment to familiarise yourselves with each other. ‘At least I’m a pleasurable pain in the ass.’ He teased and you pinch his side, causing him to flinch, but his smile remained and this time his smile was genuine.
His light has came home.
Ratio:
Fully believed that he’d see you when the mission ended, knowing just how talented and dedicated to the craft you were, and having faith that this would be a measly walk in a park for you.
Only to receive word that you were one of the many who were assumed dead when you weren’t found amongst the living nor the dead.
Veritas tries to remain as levelheaded and logical as possible during this time and continue life as normal. However found himself retracting from everyone else and going none contact, more so specifically with the people you were once associated with, and instead focused heavily on his studies and academics to an unhealthy extent.
A week passes and Veritas feels as though he’s seen a ghost the moment he saw you in his peripheral vision, bandaged and dressed in ripped clothing but still somehow finding it in you to smile.
‘You idiotic Buffon!’ He exclaims as he walks towards you.
‘Well that’s a nice way to greet someone you care about.’ You replied as you readied yourself for a massive rant about how stupid you were and so on, but instead you were held against his chest as he burrows his head into your neck.
‘I thought you died.’ He says in a whisper as he breathed you in. This went against all logic but in that rare moment Veritas didn’t care, you were alive but he still couldn’t let go of the fact that you didn’t tell anyone you were still alive. ‘Why didn’t you tell anyone that you were alive, send a signal, anything.’
You shrugged as you made yourself comfortable in his strong arms. ‘All communications were badly damaged or completely cut off.’ You told him. ‘I was on my own for a long while before finding my way back to you.’
‘Me?’ Veritas asked, pulling away from you. ‘Why not a medial facility for a proper treatment of your wounds? Have you hit your head so hard that common sense had been left on the back burner when making that decision?’
‘I wanted to see you first you dickhead!’ You exclaimed, shutting Veritas up rather quickly with your confession but you didn’t care. ‘is it so wrong of me to let the man I love know that I’m okay? So go ahead and call me an idiot all you like but that won’t change the fact that I felt more fear about not telling you how I truly feel then dying on some stupid mission.’ You finished your rant.
‘You’re insufferable.’ Veritas said after a moment of silence and you couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed at this that you didn’t notice that Veritas has began to close in the distance between the two of you.
You scoffed. ‘Oh sure call me insufferable as if you-‘ Veritas cuts you off by cupping your cheeks and planting a sweet short lived kiss against your lips before pulling away with a smirk.
‘Glad to know that the feelings are reciprocated.’ He says, taking enjoyment of rendering you speechless as he gently guided you to medical, and remaining by your side for the remainder of the day.

"𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐫"
synopsis: Your boyfriend, Aventurine, gets drunk and ruins an important event for your other boyfriend, Veritas, and he pays the price while you receive an award.

a/n: screaming wish it was me :(
The business party you attended on behave of your partners had been long and tiring, but finally, you were all back home in your comfortable penthouse. As the doors closed behind you, the tension in the air was palpable, and the ride in the car was the worst. Aventurine had….misbehaved, at the party, causing quite a scene and embarrassing both you and Dr. Ratio in front of their colleagues.
“You were supposed to behave tonight, Aventurine,” Dr. Ratio's voice was cold and filled with disappointment as he approached the coat rack.
“But...but I couldn't help it. The champagne was just so good and everyone was having such a good time,” he tried to explain, but Veritas expression didn't soften.
“You know the rules. Misbehaving has consequences, this was an especially important night for my project” he said, their tone leaving no room for argument. Aventurine's eyes widened as they realized what was coming.
Meanwhile, you stood to the side, watching the exchange with a mix of arousal and concern. You knew what was about to happen, and you couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through your veins. But at the same time, you couldn't help but worry for Aventurine.
“Hey- what are you doing….” Your blonde lover spouted, “Y/n…help meee, he’s being so- hiccup so mean”.
“Y/n, unlike you, knows to behave when she needs to. If only you were more like her.” Your other boyfriend says, as he sits Aventurine down on the a chair, his languid body wobbling from his intoxication.
Aventurine's voice trembled in fear and anticipation. “Okay- I’m sorry, but what is this for”
Without another word, Dr. Ratio marched over to a nearby shelf and picked up a small remote. He had tied up the drunk man well, hands behind his back and legs spread apart, an attachment on his crotch.
He pressed a button, and a loud buzzing noise filled the room. You recognized it as the sound of a vibrator.
“Since you couldn't behave in public, you'll have to behave here,” Dr. Ratio replied coldly as they approached Aventurine with the remote in hand. “You can enjoy the sensation while you watch me take care of someone else who can follow the rules.”
Your breath caught in your throat as Dr. Ratio turned to you and pulled you into a passionate kiss. His lips were demanding and possessive as his hands roamed your body, reminding you that you belonged to him right now, him alone. You moaned into the kiss, eagerly responding to his warm touch.
You felt Aventurine's eyes on you, and you opened your eyes to see him staring at you with a mix of arousal, jealousy, and frustration. He were visibly straining against their restraints as the vibrator worked its magic on his cock.
“Are you ready for a reward?” Dr. Ratio asked you, breaking the kiss and turning to Aventurine. He ran a hand down your body and reached between your legs, finding you already wet with desire.
'Yes, Veritas- ,' you moaned, feeling Aventurine's eyes on you as Dr. Ratio's fingers danced over your clit.
“Very good,” Dr. Ratio said, his voice full of satisfaction as he pushed you down onto the couch infront of your tortured other.
Slowly, he’d remove your shirt, squeezing your tits before taking your bra off. Mouth clasped onto your nipple, he’d give Aventurine some glances, smiling against your skin every now and then as he watched his legs start shaking.
Once your panties were off, Veritas picked you up, and held you against his chest, opening your legs and letting Aventurine get a look at your glistening cunt, getting rubbed and fingered by Veritas.
You held onto him tight, moaning breathlessly as he prepared your hole, whispering dirty things in your ear from behind.
“Feels good baby? You’re so wet already, look at our little mut over there…He’s already came twice it seems.”
He chuckled, kissing the nape of your neck as he feels his cock almost rip the seems of his pants under you.
“Fuck- Can you just….Im so- so sorry please Veritas…”
With Aventurines pleas, your lover only laughed.
He flipped you over on your back to the cushion, spreading your legs as he takes his cock out; slapping your wet pussy with the tip.
“Mmm- fuck…you’re such a good girl, you really deserve this. Unlike some people.”
You gasped when you felt the tip go inside, and after every inch after that.
Veritas was gentle in preparing you, but not gentle when fucking you, especially with all his anger for your other boyfriend. He gripped your waist hard, and thrusted into you so deep, you practically screamed his name.
He snapped at Aventurine, who’s now fully in tears from overstimulating, cumming his brains out and watching you get fucked like you’re doing the same.
“Look at you…Pathetic. You could have taken her other hole but you just had to be an idiot.”
Aventurine watched with a mix of arousal and torturous anguish as Ratio fucked you, making you writhe with pleasure.
The room was filled with the sounds of your moans and the buzzing of the vibrator. Aventurine's eyes were locked on you, his own cock straining against the vibrator as he was forced to watch.
You look at Aventurine, taking small glances of his cock covered in his own cum.
“Don’t look at him, he can’t save you, or himself.” Veritas said, grabbing your face and making you look at him.
You cried out in pleasure as he pounded into you. You were lost in the bliss of his touch, and Aventurines eyes locked onto your body made everything so much more pleasurable; watching his leaky cock.
Dr. Ratio's pace quickened, and soon you were both teetering on the edge of ecstasy. With one final, powerful thrust, he sent you both over the edge, your bodies shaking with pleasure. He filled you up to the brim, so much cum oozing out of your hole.
Veritas picked you up quickly, and held your back against his chest, opening your legs and carrying them infront of Aventurine; still strapped to the chair but now recovering as Ratio finally retired the vibrator.
He tries to catch his breathe, looking up to see your spread apart cunt in his face, carried by Veritas.
“Clean her up. It’s all you’re getting tonight.”
With hunger, your starved boyfriend took your cunt into his mouth, hands still behind him as he pushed his face into you, tongue cleaning up Veritas’ mess.

Inside the first cabinet of Ratio's study lies a thick file of research papers dedicated to you. It all started with a small page where he scrambled his thoughts on you when he first started getting infatuated, and slowly as you two grew closer, he wrote your interests, hobbies, behavior, clothing for that day, everything!
Then he will ponder over his observations and try to figure out what kind of stuff influences you to act a certain way, your pattern of speech with different people (blushed like a little school girl when writing how differently you talk with him - having more affectionate undertone, as if you two aren't dating), your body language with different people, and all that stuff.
And you deserve all the effort! You managed to catch the affection of such an esteemed genius so effortlessly, even becoming his obsession, his fixation. He craves understanding you, knowing you even more than you do yourself, such a fascinating creature you are to him.
It's really really sweet, if you ignore the tiny comments on the side, how he can influence you, make you act a certain way, portray someone else in a negative light so you distance yourself from unworthy pests, how he can gain more of your affection, how he can make dependent on you.
That's just the part of his research! Very normal stuff!

GUILT
(HSR MEN X READER) (ANGST)
(GN!READER)
Synopsis: You and Sunday were dating but then you overhear him talking to those who work with him about how you’re just a pawn for his games.
SUNDAY:
Soft footsteps echoed as you walked through the halls of where your beloved boyfriend Sunday lived. Though a feeling of unknown dread crawled onto you as if warning you of something soon happening.
Click. Click. Click.
Your eyes lit up as you heard your boyfriend speaking to those who worked under him and you couldn't help but eavesdrop. The curiosity of how he acted when he wasn’t around you dwelling in your mind.
“It’s simple. I’m using them. They are just one step closer for me to get closer to my goals.” Sunday said with a calm smile, hands gently tracing his desk looking down at the men who were talking to him.
You were confused.
What were they talking about?
“Sir..are you sure? Aren’t they attached?”
“My so-called significant other is definitely attached. Though that benefits me. Much. More. Easier. To manipulate.”
You paled.
He was using you.
Tears bubbled up in your eyes and you held your hand to your mouth to stifle any noises of sadness that were threatening to come out.
Hitching and turning on your shoe you make a dash for it unaware that Sunday caught a glimpse through the slit of the door open with his eyes. His wings twitched in surprise and soon lowered as a disgusting feeling of shame hit him.
It was an oddity for Sunday.
“Oh dear.” He murmured out making his way out to find you.
Synopsis: Aventurine and you dated but when he bets you in a game everything goes downhill.
AVENTURINE:
You catch your boyfriend, the renowned gambler betting as usual. You told him his hobby wasn't good. But as if that would stop him. Eventually you gave up and just let him do what he wanted despite worry filling you each time he pushed a chip forward with his iconic trademark smirk.
“Babe..” You murmur out unease written all over your face.
“Oh! Hey darling~ this man just won’t seem to give up..even after I basically drained his savings. He’s penniless and now putting bets on things he doesn't even own!” Aventurine chuckled, holding his head amused.
“Maybe you should stop? It's getting intense, no.?” You worriedly whisper out.
“Oh no no no sweetheart. Once you go in. You can’t come out.”
“Huh?” You fluster.
“In gambling! What were you thinking of?” His smirk grew and became more toothly as you spluttered but it soon died down as Aventurine noticed that the man he was gambling with was slowly earning his chips back.
“You pull up a tough fight.” Aventurine spoke and you just knew he was going to pull an impulsive move.
“Seems my chips have vanished. What a shame. Yet I do not intend to lose. I bet..my darling sweetheart right here.”
You flinched at his words staring at him with a ‘did you really just say that’’ look making Aventurine smack back into reality.
“Oh..doll wait I didn’t mea-”
He got cut off by you walking off.
Ping! New message!
(AVENTURINE HAS SENT $1,000,000)
Synopsis: Dating Dr. Ratio was nice. Though he puts more time with other matters, neglecting you.
DR RATIO:
You hadn’t seen your boyfriend Veritas in a while because of him either studying, working, teaching others, or doing something other than hanging out with you. You're aware of his passion to join the Genius Society but he can work on that while hanging out with you too right?
You felt left out.
So you decided to make your way to his office excited to see him but also a bit nervous due to the thought of him brushing you away to work on something else.
You knocked.
“Come in.” You hear his British pompous voice making you crack a small smile not hearing it in a while.
“Veritas..” You open the door smiling but it broke as you saw him writing down something in his notebook not bothering to spare a glance at you.
“What is it? I’m quite busy.” He whispered out, still looking engrossed in his work.
“Do..you want to hang out? It’s been a while and I’ve been worried about you overworking yourself. And I miss seeing you.” You blush at your own words staring at him.
Veritas sighed, dropping his pen and rubbing his temples.
“Dear how many times must I have to tell you that I am busy?” Annoyance is apparent in his tone making your eyes droop in defeat.
“Oh. Sorry. I just wanted to ask..since it's been such a long time.” Another sigh left Veritas as he ran a hand through his hair and finally made eye contact with you.
“I’m doing work at the moment so please leave me to it.” He picked up his pen again taking a glance at you but his eyes widened as he saw your vulnerable expression of defeat. You nodded softly and shut the door leaving.
Veritas stared at the door, his heart clenching in what he just did. Guilt poured onto it.
“My lord.” He murmured holding his now aching head.

masterlist
“You’re being ridiculous, Veritas.”
Bickering with Dr. Veritas Ratio was not out of the ordinary. In fact, it was a pastime for the two of you, engaging in various academic debates to see which party presented a better argument. It was seen as a great deal of praise to be able to do such a thing with an esteemed man like Veritas. It made it seem like you two stood on the same ground–the same ground of a man who felt so out of reach.
“Oh, really now? I’m the one being ridiculous? I am ‘ridiculous’ simply because I am looking out for your safety, Y/N?”
This… however, this was not normal. This quarrel felt personal, stemming from your feelings instead of facts and objective data. This felt like an attack on your friendship–but from the amount of vile he’s spitting from his mouth, you wonder if Veritas has ever considered you as a friend in the first place.
The more he speaks, the more you are reminded that you didn’t stand on the same ground as him. You felt terrifyingly inferior, and even though he was right in front of you, you felt like you were miles away from him.
“No, I’m saying you’re ridiculous for calling me weak and incapable because apparently, I’m not good enough to go on this expedition when it’s my fucking job.”
However, you mostly felt like a fool.
You felt like such a fool for falling in love with a man like him. You fell in love with him because of his neverending thirst for knowledge. You fell in love with him because you were just as much of a bibliophile as he was. You fell in love with him because you wanted to spread your knowledge around the universe as much as he wished to. You fell in love with him because, for a moment, you thought he saw you differently from everyone else, and that he truly enjoyed being in your presence.
You turn away from him, tears forming in your eyes. You stubbornly blink them away, because you think back to what started this argument in the first place.
You had just finished detailing your mission to Veritas, which was your routine every time the Intelligentsia Guild dispatched you on some kind of research expedition. This mission was different, however. You would be gone for three months, longer than usual–and the mission was very combat-oriented and dangerous, which wasn’t like your usual expeditions. Despite the warnings, you still accepted it, thinking of it as something new, but nothing that you couldn’t handle.
Veritas seemed to think otherwise, however, because when you peer over to look at his reaction, he looked very displeased.
(It wasn’t a very uncommon look to see on his face, but you could tell he seemed more serious–like how the frown lines on his face were deeper than usual.)
You weren’t particularly surprised by the expression on his face. What surprised you the most was the first thing that came out of his mouth after hearing your expedition’s rundown. “Are you sure you’ll be able to go on that mission?”
You look at him incredulously, surprised at the amount of distaste in his voice. His displeasure was directed at… you? “What is that supposed to mean, Veritas?”
“I’m saying that you’re too weak and incapable to go on that expedition, Y/N. I do not know why the Guild would assign you such a difficult mission. They truly are overestimating your power.” The words came out of his mouth so casually, like you had just asked him about the weather. Is this how his students feel when they take his infamous course with a passing rate of a mere three percent? How his students feel whenever they get scolded by him?
You just can’t believe it. He said those words like it were a fact—straight from the myriad of encyclopedias that he’s read. Maybe because it was a fact in his head: he saw you as nothing but “weak” and “incapable”.
A stray tear manages to escape from your eye, and you quickly wipe it away angrily before turning back to Veritas with a sniffle. No. You cannot cry in front of his face. Crying is an expression of weakness–of vulnerability. And what you are trying to prove to Veritas is that you are not “weak”. You are not “incapable” either, and you are going to prove that to him by going on this mission and making him eat his words.
“I will be leaving in three system hours. Do not bother showing up during my departure.”
You cringe at the way your voice shakes at the end, but you stand firm. Those words were the last thing you said to him before leaving his office with a bitter heart. When you exit his room, you finally let your emotions run free, letting the tears stream down your face without end. You quietly sob as you retreat to your own office, closing the door and letting out a shaky exhale, escaping all the nosy whispers and chatter of the Guild members.
You sob at the heartbreaking realization that just when you think you’ve gotten close to the “untouchable” Veritas Ratio, he pushes you away just like how he does to everyone else… because that’s just simply what you are to him.
Another person who fades into the background, and nothing more.
Dr. Veritas Ratio is a man who exhibits prestige and greatness like no other. Throughout his academic career, he obtained eight PhDs and graduated with the First Class Honors Degree, which hadn’t been awarded to anyone for two Amber Eras. He was gifted with knowledge, and now he uses that knowledge and spreads it far across the cosmos to “cure idiocy”, treating it like a disease that needs to be treated.
And yet, for once in his life, he refuses to admit it out loud, but he’s acted like the one thing that he completely loathed. The very thing that he was trying to exterminate.
An idiot. He was an idiot, and it was all because he could not word himself correctly when he spoke to you. He has written hundreds of papers, essays, and dissertations, but time and time again, he could not seem to think—to be able to formulate the proper words to say when it came to you.
And now, Veritas has royally messed up, and for once in life, he has no idea what to do.
He was just genuinely concerned for your safety. It was all he thought about once you had finished detailing your expedition to him. He wanted to convince you—to pick the right words to say so he could persuade you not to go, but it seems that his fear of being seen as vulnerable shone through first. It reminded him of the days when you two weren’t close; the days he spoke to you while wearing his alabaster head.
He only wears that head because he “can’t bear to see idiots,” but given how he just called you “weak” and “incapable” in the argument that just transpired, one could almost laugh at the hypocrisy of it all. Veritas may as well talk to himself while wearing the alabaster head.
Because only idiots would address you with those terms.
You were an enigma to Veritas from the very beginning. People from the Intelligentsia Guild rarely stood out to him, but you were different—sticking out like a sore thumb the moment he laid his eyes on you.
That’s because your presence utterly enchanted him—you had similar tastes in literary works, you matched his sarcasm and topped it off with even wittier replies, and you also wanted to use your knowledge for other people to learn.
You were not weak and incapable. He saw you as anything but that, in fact. He was at fault for the argument, but he can’t bring himself to say it out loud, for Aeon’s sake.
He knows that he owes you an apology, it’s the least he could do... He just needs to apologize, then convince you to not go on that expedition. You’re scheduled to leave soon—approximately two and a half system hours—he still has time.
And yet, his mind is being stubborn. He knows that he needs to apologize, but he just can’t bring himself to. He can’t remember the last time he’s genuinely apologized to someone—an apology without a trace of sarcasm at that.
“Trouble in paradise, doctor?”
He could recognize the esteemed gambler’s voice from miles away, and it irks him how he always seemed to show up at the worst times. Aventurine’s got a knowing gaze on him—a stare that can pierce through any poker face so he could see exactly what they’re thinking. “I suggest not meddling in any business that doesn’t concern you, gambler.”
Except he’s already got him. “This is about Y/N, isn’t it?”
Hook, line, and sinker.
Aventurine believes that one’s eyes are the windows to the soul–and he doesn’t miss the way Veritas’ eyes soften when he says your name, smiling at the unintentional answer to his question. He definitely doesn’t have the best poker face in town. For such a stoic man, he surely cannot put himself together when it comes to anything that has to do with you.
Aeons. Just what were you doing to him?
There was no use hiding it from him, so he just silently nodded, with Aventurine clicking his tongue. “Rumors fly fast in the guild, especially when Dr. Ratio’s dear friend Y/N was seen walking out of his office crying. I just had to see what this was really about, you know?”
You were crying when you left?
He doesn’t voice his concern out loud, of course. Instead, Veritas just sighs heavily. “All I wanted to do was convince her to not go on that mission that she’s currently dispatched on. It just seems… far too dangerous.”
Aventurine’s got an idea of what happened next considering how you ran out of this room crying, but he decides to ask anyway. “Oh? And how did that work out for you?”
Veritas refuses to meet his gaze, his heart sinking when he simply thinks about what happened earlier. “…”
“At least humor me, doctor.”
He turns away from Aventurine completely, a deep shade of red coating his cheeks. Was it out of embarrassment? Shame? Whatever it was, he didn’t need him to see it. “…I called her weak and incapable.”
When Aventurine doesn’t say anything for a few seconds, Veritas speaks to fill the silence. “I admit, I did not know what was going through my head when I addressed her with those words.”
The uncomfortable silence drags on for a little longer until it’s interrupted by the piercing sound of Aventurine’s laughter. His laugh makes the red spread across Veritas’ cheeks even more—uncharacteristically so, especially since he’s normally so put together. He doesn’t even have the heart to tell Aventurine to stop laughing, because a small huge part of him feels that he deserves this.
He deserves to sit through this feeling because he knows you faced the same humiliation when he shut you out.
“Hahaha! I can’t—“ Aventurine’s nearly keeling over in laughter, and the gambler swears he could feel tears build up in his eyes. “Oh, please! You have such a way with words, don’t you?”
Aventurine continues, failing to conceal his hysteria. “Weak and incapable? If anything, that’ll only fuel the fire. She’d want to go on that mission just to prove you wrong.”
“I’m well aware. It is exactly what happened after all.” You’re leaving soon. The thought of you leaving makes Veritas’ stomach churn, and he has no idea why. Out of all the many expeditions you’ve been sent on, this is the first time he’s felt this way–been filled with so much dread.
“Well,” Aventurine pretends to think for a moment, putting his hand on his chin. “It won’t hurt to sacrifice a little bit of your already enormous ego to apologize to her, no? There’s enough of your pride to go around.”
I don’t know if I can bring myself to.
Veritas doesn’t say those words out loud. Instead, he masks his worries with a scoff. Aventurine doesn’t have to know. “Watch your mouth, gambler.”
“Oh my, I really struck a nerve there, did I?”
“Researcher Y/N? I’m sorry sir, she just departed a few minutes ago.”
You left.
The three system hours hadn’t even passed yet—there were still two hours before your scheduled departure—and you left early.
You left, and he didn’t even get the opportunity to apologize.
The researcher could only watch as the great Veritas Ratio, normally so composed, looks away from him wide-eyed and mouth slightly agape. He’s utterly dumbfounded, a look that is never seen on his face. What is he supposed to do now?
You’re too late.
For the next several weeks, Veritas could only wait anxiously for your return. Worry follows him like a cloud, and even his students pick up on his weird behavior. It’s all so grueling—waiting for you without so much of an idea of how you’re doing or if your expedition is going well.
While waiting for your return, he plans out his actions for the next time he sees you. He doesn’t want to apologize over text–Veritas sees it as inappropriate and prefers to show his sincerity in person. Face-to-face is how he is going to do it, and he sends you a message in preparation for that. “I’d like for us to talk when you’re back. Please message me immediately upon your arrival.”
…Except an error message stares at him back when he presses the send button. It’s almost mocking him in a sense, like the universe is doing everything in its power to prevent him from atoning for his mistakes. Of course you weren’t going to have signal when you’re so far away from him. Just what was he expecting?
You were scheduled to return after another few weeks, and Veritas could only prepare for the days to pass by excruciatingly slowly. Until then, he thinks over what he’s going to say for his apology. Maybe he could give you something too. He thinks that finding a way to get your favorite flowers is a nice start.
You’re tired.
Exhaustion envelops you like a blanket, and after trying your hardest to resist, you just can’t anymore.
You’re so tired.
You finally succumb to the fatigue, falling onto the ground as your sword clatters with a thud. You lay there, lying in a pool of your own blood, accepting that this was the cruel fate that the great Aeons above bestowed upon you in the end. You laugh at the absurdity of it all, but it only comes out as a weak cough, which quickly transitions into a fit of hacking up crimson droplets—lighting your throat on fire.
It was a fragmentum monster ambush. The planet you were exploring contained a lot of them–mainly due to the Stellaron corrosion that it was experiencing. After three weeks of exploring, it was supposed to be just another day of collecting data and extracting information for the guild. You’ve done this countless times already–anything out of the ordinary happening was beyond you.
The ambush had occurred when you least expected it–you barely even had the time to draw out your sword. One thing led to another, and at some point, there were just too many of them that leaving the battle unscathed was out of the question. And at the end of it, you were a mess, standing in a field of bodies with blood sticking to your clothes–a mix of the fragmentum and your own. The worst part was that it was mainly your own, with the source coming from a deep gash in your abdomen. You were losing blood at a terrifying rate.
Panic fills your veins once you fully process the gravity of the situation. Heart thumping, you realize that you’re going to die–and you are going to die alone.
What a pitiful end this was.
You’ve sent a distress call to the guild, but you know that your fate has been sealed already. You’ll be long gone before anyone will be here to help you, and they’d just be here to clean up your remains. You hope that the guild would at least grant you a proper funeral.
It’s truly comical how fate works. People your age are usually too busy thinking about marriage, or deciding how many kids they want to have in the near future. And yet, here you are, on the precipice of reaching death’s door, thinking about your funeral.
Your vision turns blurry, and you sniffle as hot tears begin to roll down your cheeks. Fuck, you don’t want to die. There are far too many things that you haven’t done. And yet, you can’t find the strength to continue on either. You’re just so, so tired.
In the midst of your cries, you softly mumble out a name. A name that you love, hate, and everything in between with a passion.
“…Veritas.”
You initially wanted to go on this mission with the intent of exploring this planet, but after the argument, you know you went mainly because you wanted to prove him wrong.
You wonder if he truly meant those words. Even if he didn’t, maybe he was right, because look at what your determination had cost you–lying in a pool of your own blood, all because you wanted Veritas to see that you weren’t weak and incapable.
Even though you went on this expedition angry at him, (a part of you still is angry) you’ve never wanted to see him so badly in your life. You were going to die with many regrets–perhaps the biggest one was that you never got to tell Veritas how you truly feel about him.
You just want to see him once last time. Is it selfish to ask for one more day with him? One more hour… or to engage in at least one more heated debate. Hell, you’d even take one more minute with him. And in that minute, maybe you’d slap him in the face for what happened. But maybe you’d tell him you love him and kiss him over and over, apologizing for even thinking about slapping his stupidly perfect face.
Despite how much of an asshole he can be at times, you love Veritas Ratio. You love his snark and sarcasm and everything about him, and you’re going to die without even knowing if he loves you back. This is your biggest regret.
No, you can’t die like this. You need to tell him. You have to.
As darkness starts to cloud your vision, you use all of your remaining strength to pull your phone out from your pocket despite the wound in your abdomen screaming in protest. Your fingers shakily make their way to Veritas’ contact, and with a pained breath, you begin to type.
“Take me to where she sent the distress call, now.”
There was a bunch of commotion in the guild—too much commotion considering how early it was. Veritas could only wonder what all the clamor was about, but he froze once he heard your name leave one of the researcher’s mouths.
And his biggest nightmare is now a reality once someone finally fills him in on the situation: Your signal had disappeared off the radar, but not after you sent a distress call to the guild. You needed help, yet you were so far from his grasp. “But Doctor, we-“
“I need not repeat myself. Her life is in grave danger, and yet here you are, arguing with me and wasting precious time when this time could be used saving her.” His words surprised both himself and the guild member, who shakily nodded at his request. Veritas was certain that if you were just anybody else, he could have less of a care about your distress signal. But no, this was you—and he needed to make sure that you were okay.
Veritas looked calm and collected on the outside, but on the inside, he was falling apart. Calm yourself, you need to be the strong one in this situation. She’s the one in danger here.
Aeons, all he had to do was convince you to not go on this expedition. Instead, he made everything worse with his poor choice of words, and now he’s paying the price for it. He could only hope that he wasn’t too late.
Wait for me Y/N. Please. That’s all I ask.
In his office, there’s a bouquet of your favorite flowers resting on his desk, and they’ve slowly begun to wither away.
When Veritas finally arrived at where you were last seen on the signal, there were bodies littered everywhere, and he could only hope that none of them were yours. Paired with those bodies was the color red—crimson was scattered all over, and it was practically all he could see. Did you take all of these fragmentum down by yourself?
As Veritas inspected all of the fragmentum bodies, all slain by a single blade, one of the researchers accompanying him pointed out a trail of blood leaving the site. It makes him freeze, because it might be…
“Y/N.”
Shit.
He immediately goes after the trail without an ounce of hesitation. The scene laid before him is something that has only haunted him in his nightmares, yet at this very moment, it lies before him as a terrifying reality.
His blood runs cold, and for the first time in his life, Veritas Ratio is rendered speechless.
Your limp body lies in front of him, in a pool of so much blood that just seeing it sickens him to his stomach. He can’t feel his own body as he falls to his knees, paying no mind to the other researchers around him. No, right now, it was just you and Veritas. Nobody else.
“No,” With trembling hands, he pulls your body close to his own as your blood taints his clothing. Even though he knows you’re too far gone already, he can’t help but try to feel your pulse, because there’s a part of him that just refuses to believe that he’s too late. “No, no, no—“
There was nothing.
It probably hasn’t been beating for a while, and that thought leaves him utterly empty, with a single stray tear rolling down his cheek.
If he were just a little bit faster, maybe he could’ve saved you. If he could’ve just formulated his words correctly so he could convince you not to go on this expedition. If he could’ve just apologized…
If he could’ve just been… a better friend.
All these could haves, yet Veritas didn’t act on any of them.
Pathetic.
Your phone is beside you, and Veritas gingerly picks it up. The screen was still lit, despite it being shattered to oblivion. It was open to the messaging app—specifically his contact.
It was never sent due to poor signal, but you were messaging him before you died. He was your last thought.
“I’m sorry Veritas. I just don’t want you to think I’m weak and incapable.”
“Still, I want you to remember that”
You were the one apologizing to him, even after everything was said and done. He can’t even fathom that.
And weak and incapable, huh. You were anything but that. If anything, Veritas was the weak and incapable one. He was weak for not being able to swallow his pride even if he was the one in the wrong—and he was incapable of simply apologizing to you.
And the last message… What is it supposed to mean?
What do you want him to remember?
When Veritas was sent to Penacony and matters with the head of the Oak family, Sunday, had been dealt with, he was finally allowed to leave. It was the first mission the guild had assigned him since you left, and his efforts to prevent Aventurine from going on an all-out suicide mission helped Veritas take his thoughts away from you, even if it was just for a moment.
And yet, you always find your way back to haunt him. Not even the Land of Dreams could prevent that.
Still, he had done his part, sorted out his deals in Penacony as a representative sent by the guild, and it was time to go.
It’s been a few months since your death, and Veritas thinks that living without you is like living without the sun. It’s funny how he’s only realized how much you’ve changed his life only after you’ve gone. You lit up his life, both metaphorically and physically—and now, everything feels so dull, and he constantly longs for your presence in the darkness.
But now you’re gone, and he feels so terribly lost, even now as he does paperwork in his office. Life became way more monotonous after you had left. The quiet is suffocating, because Veritas can only think about the times that the quiet office was filled with your voice instead.
Even now, in the rare moments that Veritas picks up a book nowadays, he thinks about how much you would have enjoyed it as well.
Paperwork is one of the few things that he finds solace in anymore, as it helps him drown out his thoughts so they don’t end up drifting back to you.
…You.
His eyes land on your sword before he can even do anything about it, and he swallows thickly. Your blade is displayed on his wall, another way for Veritas to show his honor for you.
The blade you singlehandedly used to defeat all those monsters, and the blade you’ll never be able to wield again.
He tears his eyes away from it before his thoughts can spiral again. He can feel his vision start to blur, and he blinks the tears away before they escape. He wonders how many tears he’s shed for you since you’ve been gone.
Veritas tries and fails to focus on his paperwork once more until he’s interrupted by a knock at the door.
He thinks a walk will do him good.
He stands up from his desk and slowly walks over to his office door, wondering who it could be. He rarely gets visitors nowadays, unless it’s something that’s of utmost importance. Everyone else is afraid to talk to him, as Veritas became… colder after your death.
If anyone were to ask why—it’s because when you died, a part of Veritas did too.
He turns the door’s handle, only to see…
You.
You were standing right in front of him, in the same outfit that you were in the day you left for your mission. Except this time, you were alive, and Veritas has no idea what to think.
You’re the first one to break the silence, whispering his name. “Veritas?”
Hearing you say his name feels like he can finally breathe again. “Y/N? Is it really you?”
Before you can even answer his question, he engulfs you in a tight hug, breathing in your scent. Veritas held you like his life depended on it—because at this moment, it felt like it did. He says the words that hve been on his mind for the past few months. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry darling. If only I hadn’t-“
You pull back from the hug, putting your pointer finger against his lips as a signal for him to stop talking. Barely even registering the endearing name that he called you, you smile, cupping his cheeks before sighing tenderly. “I’ve forgiven you a long time ago, Veritas.”
He only hugs you tighter, coming to a revelation that only makes the pain in his heart ever worsen. He saw your lifeless body himself, he paid respects to your body at your funeral… and he laid your favorite flowers on top of your gravesite where your body rested, even though those flowers were supposed to be an apology gift. “You’re… not real.”
“I’m still in Penacony, right? This is all a dream.”
You smile, nodding in conformation. “Nothing truly gets past you, does it? You’re dreaming what you desire the most right now.”
“I promise you that we will meet again, Veritas. it will not be today, but the day will eventually come, and I’ll be waiting for you every step of the way.” You breathe in deeply. “But right now, you need to wake up from this dream, before it's too late.”
He’s not sure if he wants to wake up, though.
“But what if… I just want to stay here with you?”
“We both know it’s not what you really want.” You can see right through him. “If you stay with me in this dream, you’ll be living nothing but a simulated life. I may be here with you, but you’ll never truly fill that hole in your heart, because I am not Y/N. I’m just a creation of your deepest desires, and you know that I’ll never be her. That is not a life worth living.”
“I know she would want you to live your life to the fullest, to truly experience things, to teach your students unforgettable lessons… so they become great people like you.” You pause, looking right into his eyes. They’re filled with pain, sorrow, and the desire to cling on to the past. “And when your time comes eventually, she will be waiting for you. You will apologize once again, because you never got to apologize to her before she died, but she has forgiven you long ago, and it’s all because…”
Despite that, you have to teach him that it’s time to let go. “She wants you to remember that she loves you, Veritas Ratio.”
“Still, I want you to remember that… I love you.”
A tear rolls down his cheek at your words, and then another…. and another. “Even if I don’t know how to apologize?”
You let out a watery laugh, nodding your head. “Even if you don’t know how to apologize.”
“Then… I will do as she asks. It is the least I can do to make up for what I’ve done.” He says, and he takes a deep breath before his next words. “Can I… hug you one last time? Even though you aren’t… actually her.”
“Go ahead, Veritas. But I’m afraid that after this, you have to let go.”
You need to let go.
He nods before wrapping his arms around your figure. It was such a vulnerable act, like a man putting the entirety of his heart and soul out for you to take. He breathes in your scent, wanting to take it in once last time before he has to bid you goodbye. You feel a few of his tears staining your clothing, but you pay it no mind.
How many tears has he shed for you since you’ve been gone? Not enough. He doesn’t feel that it’ll ever be enough.
When he opens his eyes, you’re slowly fading away from him. There’s a melancholic smile on your face, your eyes meeting his—filled with pain, sorrow, a desire to cling onto the past, and yet… a hint of acceptance.
“Still, I want you to remember that… I love you.”
Yes, he remembers. And he’ll remember your words for the rest of his life, until the moment that he leaves this cosmos on his deathbed. He’s just hoping that you’ll wait long enough for him to say it back.
Before you’re about to fade away completely, you lean in one last time and whisper to him…
“It’s time to wake up, Veritas.”
He wakes up from the dream pool with a gasp. The water splashes around him, and a few stray tears roll down his cheeks.
The rest of his actual Penacony trip went by surprisingly smoothly, and he doesn’t mention the dream that he had to anyone. It was like a secret shared between you and Veritas–and he was going to treasure that secret forever.
And now, the Charmony Festival has commenced, and the fireworks have begun. As he watches the sparks explode into thousands of dazzling rays of light above, he pulls out his phone to text you. Almost like one final goodbye, because he knows it’s what you would’ve wanted.
“I love you too, Y/N. I will love you my entire lifetime–past beyond the boundaries of eternity, even after all the stars long die out in the cosmos.
I long for the day that we will meet again… because then, I’ll finally be able to tell you this confession in person. For now, I hope you can continue to find the patience to keep waiting for me.
…Until the stars align, and we’re able to see each other once again.”
He looks up to the endless bursts of blazing rays lighting up the night, mixed with the eternal shine of the cosmos. It was truly a sight to behold. And for a split second, he could feel someone by his side watching the fireworks with him. It warmed his heart, even if it were just for a moment.
“Aren’t these fireworks beautiful, Veritas?”
“They will never be as enchanting as you, Y/N.”

✮ plush heaven
౨ৎ veritas ratio x reader. fluff, gn!reader, reader has a slight obsession w plushies (it's totally not self indulgent haha) — wc: 395
notes. back w another ratio fic hi
"veritas, look at this! isn't this a cute doll?" you asked, shoving your phone in front of his face. your phone showed him a picture of a doll you've been eyeing for quite some time now.
instead of veritas giving you his usual smile and 'yeah, it's cute', he frowns. "another one? you have so many on the bed, and not to mention the special drawer for your plushies is going to be full."
"but this is a cute one!" you whined. "look at how cute this bunny looks! and the color!"
veritas's eyebrows twitched. "oh my god if you buy one more plush to occupy my spot on the bed i'm kicking you out to sleep on the couch."
you gasp dramatically. "what the hell, veritas? over a plushie?"
"i want to be able to sleep peacefully at night without any plushies blocking the space between you and me." veritas's frown deepens at that thought, which makes you laugh.
"you're that jealous over a plushie?" you laugh, setting your phone down. "well, they are indeed more soft than you, cuddly, and the perfect size to hug." the teasing tone in your voice was enough to make veritas let out a huge sigh.
"shut up." veritas says before standing up from the couch to go grab a drink. the mischievous glint in your eyes did not disappear, instead it shines even brighter knowing that he did not refuse your request in buying the doll.
"so can i buy the doll?" you asked again, standing behind veritas as he drinks from the glass. "i promise it won't take up your space in the bed! i'll still cuddle you! you're my number one cuddle pillow." you give him a big smile, trying to convince him to let you buy it.
veritas sighs in defeat, giving in. "fine... how much is it?"
veritas freezes when you hug him and only stares at you when you run back to the couch and place your order.
he smiles softly, sighing. maybe he will allow you to keep buying these plushies you love so dearly just to see that big and cute smile on your face.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY RAMBLE ABOUT THIS SLUTTY MAN, I have love-hate relationship with Ratio :3 (YOUR WRITING IS AMAZING AS ALWAYS)
BUT ALSO, ANOTHER RAMBLE HERE CAUSE YOU'RE MY FAVORITE WRITER!!
I don't know if you feel uncomfortable/weirded out with this, but if you do! Please do delete this if you want, it's your choice!!
Imagine a child, it can be one of those children in Penacony or other planets. But I pick the child from the Penacony! Walking up to Ratio and S/O, who is probably bickering as per usual or just enjoying one of another times (Secretly, since Ratio wants to be a secretive or this is same past-rebelious but now Professor S/O!)
As the child tugs on S/O, calling them pretty and hugs them. THEN PROCEEDED TO BE LIKE "kay now, you're my parent/mother/father"
LIKE:
"Hey miss/mister/mx! You look very pretty/handsome/unique! Will you be my parent?"
IMAGINE RATIO REACTION, *IF* THE KID IS GONNA BE LIKE
"oh, you're going to be my dad as well/other father/other parent!
OR THE OTHER WAY, HOGGING S/O ATTENTION. Clinging On S/O, regardless how many times S/O tries to get the kid back at their actual and real parents here, and would sometimes spend time hanging out with the kid while also trying to search for the kid parent
(AND ALSO I'M GOING TO SEND SOME RAMBLE ABOUT ROBIN (if you Dont mind!) MY BABY DESERVES THE BEST)
Hello anon! Always happy to answer brain rots and imagines and rambles hehe. Glad to see you back in my inbox!
Also, so cute hehe.
I imagine Dr. Ratio is actually pretty good with kids. The thing with kids is most of them love asking a shit ton of questions, the most ridiculous kinds at that. And you know those people who are so damn smart and knowledgeable in their field they start thinking about possibilities of ridiculous ideas as actually plausible? Veritas would kind of teeter on that when it comes to kids and their imagination. I just can't help but imagine kids crawling all over him while he has a rubber duck in his hand and explains like.. hawking radiation to a kid who's just staring blankly at him.
Honestly, kids would love him. Hes the strange, serious man who always bends down and tells you really confusing but fun stuff about things and seems to know everything. To them, hes the "actual adult".
I imagine, in the case a lost child approaches him or him with his s/o, his first instinct would be just to gauge the general state. He'll simply watch as you pick up the kid and coo at him and all the willy nilly stuff, just glancing over and checking for injuries, signs of anxiety or confusion, frustration, or fear. After he's done looking over, he'd try to ask the child about where their parents are when they perk up about how both of you are their parents now.
Well.. he doesn't know how to respond. You see his eyebrows raise slightly at the kid's remark, but he brushes it off, and starts telling the child all about your embarassing history if you were the rebellious professor!s/o. If you aren't, just about any silly memories he has of you are at the tip of his tongue, and that you really aren't suited for a parental figure. Even if you try and shut him up, he'll simply turn to the kid like, "do not let those who oppress you, silence you." Or something lol.
He doesn't mind the child being all over his s/o, telling them how pretty they are, asking them if they want to be their parent, and so on. Kids are silly, and illogical. It's in their nature to say anything that comes to mind. Of course.. he's slightly sour inside that your conversation was cut short, and now the child's hogging all your attention, but he vehemently pushes it down, simply resolving to search for their parents with you.
It's not soon before the both of you finally find them. Veritas gives them a stern, subtle warning about losing their child while you comfort them, bidding your farewell. It slightly annoys Veritas when the child clings to you, refusing to let go, and all his parents do is laugh it off, saying "they're just very social!" Or something. He has better things to be doing, really. He just walks off and lets you take care of things from there.
If you ask him if he's jealous, he won't say anything, and stare deadpan into your eyes before shrugging it off and changing the topic back to what you both were discussing before. Both of you can have more productive conversations, really.
Although.. his thoughts teeter a bit, and he shortly ponders over what kids with you would be like.. would he want children? Maybe one.. or two.. or even three..
Ugh, he's thinking too far ahead. He resigns to simply paying attention in the present, and listening to you ramble instead.

𓂅new order. "tarte aux fraises and a pain au chocolat."
Contracts and preferences pt.1 pt.2
pairing. Aventurine x gn!reader x Dr ratio (poly) cw/genre. angst, argument, some slow burn again, slight being left out, some nsfw in pt.2, negligent attitudes synopsis. you went from being “decoration” and “ partner” to “ servant” and “assistant”. full menu
The more you gave, the more they seemed to demand, leaving you feeling like you were slowly sacrificing your own identity in the process.
Each passing day brought a new chore, a new task to complete.
You longed for a moment of understanding or appreciation, but it felt like your efforts were going unnoticed.
But you always pushed these thoughts and feelings down, telling yourself that it was just part of the job, part of being their assistant.
You were already managing to hold it mentally, even feeling a little calmer.
But it all went to hell.
You were currently in bed, trying to rest after a busy day.
Both Aventurine and Ratio were there, on the other side of the bed.
Your body was turned, looking at the wall, you've always liked that place.
About an hour, it was only a damn hour before you started hearing faint sound of kissing and movement in bed.
Your body stiffened as you heard the sound of their make-out session in the bed, right beside you.
You tried to ignore it, telling yourself it was normal.
But the sound of their movements and sighs of pleasure filled the room, making it impossible to escape the intimate atmosphere.
You clenched your fists, feeling a mix of discomfort and frustration.
Every kiss, every touch they shared felt like an invasion of your already limited space.
You desperately wanted to shout at them to stop, to show some respect for your feelings and the boundaries of the relationship.
But you lay there, frozen in place, your body tense and your nerves on edge.
The sound of their voices filled the room, intertwined with whispers and panting.
"Ah, wait, not that...not yet," Aven muttered.
You felt a flash of frustration, but you held your tongue.
Each moan and gasp seemed like a knife twisting in your heart.
You tried to block out the sound of their pleasure, but it was like a damn torment.
"Are you sure they're asleep?" you heard Aventurine ask, keeping his voice low.
"Yeah, just be quiet," Ratio responded, his voice hushed.
Your heart sank at his words, realizing that they thought you were sound asleep, oblivious to their intimate moments.
How many times had they done this before, assuming you were asleep?
The realization hit you like a punch in the gut.
Their voices became more hurried, their movements more urgent.
You hated this.
Their breaths, their moans filled the room, mingling with the rustling of sheets and the creaking of the bed.
You clenched your jaws, tears of frustration welling up in your eyes.
Each sound seemed to mock your presence, disregarding your feelings and boundaries.
Damn, it'd be a long night.
…
It was a long night.
You barely managed to get the dream together.
You stayed all night in the same position you were in, so you felt your body sore and numb.
When you tried to move, you felt something was attached to your back.
Aventurine was curled up against your back, sleeping peacefully.
You were trapped in his embrace, unable to move without waking him up.
You felt a mixture of irritation, struggling to untangle yourself from his grip.
But Aventurine seemed to cling to you, his arms wrapped possessively around you even in his sleep.
You gritted your teeth, frustration and frustration growing.
Ratio lay on his back, still sound asleep.
You didn't even notice that they had settled like that.
Aventurine's embrace was warm and tight, but it felt suffocating.
You tried to carefully wriggle free, but his grip only tightened, pulling you closer against his chest.
You cursed silently, feeling trapped.
Each futile attempt to move only made him snuggle tighter against you, his breath tickling your skin.
Their sleepy murmurs and sighs only added to your frustration.
Aventurine murmured something unintelligible, his head nuzzling against your shoulder as he slept.
You tried to contain your frustration and desperation.
You didn't want to make a scene, but the longer you stayed stuck like this, the more your irritation grew.
The feeling of being trapped, both physically and emotionally, was unbearable.
Finally you couldn't take it anymore and with one hand you shook his shoulder a little.
Aventurine muttered in his sleep, stirring slightly at your touch.
He let out a groggy mumble, his grip loosening slightly.
"Hm... what..?" he muttered, his voice thick with sleep.
Ratio stirred too, waking up due to the disturbance.
He blinked clearly, rubbing his eyes.
You took the opportunity to break free from Aventurine's embrace.
With a slight push, you managed to move away from him, freeing yourself from his grip.
Ratio groggily sat up, rubbing his eyes and looking sleepy.
"What's going on?" He asked, His voice still groggy.
"Nothing, nothing," you said, once you had finally freed yourself from his arms.
"You can go back to sleep," you added, as you moved down the bed, getting up.
Ratio raised an eyebrow, noting the tension in your movements.
"Are you alright?" He asked, genuinely confused.
Aventurine mumbled incoherently, his arm still outstretched as if trying to find you in his sleep.
"Better than ever," you said, with some sarcasm in your tone.
Then you left the room, to go to the bathroom and then start doing your things.
Ratio watched you go, a mixture of concern and confusion etched on his face.
He glanced at Aventurine, still asleep and mumbling in his sleep.
"What the hell was that...?" Ratio muttered, running a hand through his hair.
For your part, you were still in a bad mood, because of the bad night and everything that was starting to come together.
You left the bathroom, somewhat refreshed, starting to go to the kitchen, to prepare the damn breakfast, as always.
You entered the kitchen, feeling a pang of frustration as you began preparing breakfast.
The motions felt mechanical, your mind preoccupied with the events of the night before.
You couldn't shake the feeling of being ignored and underappreciated.
Every task felt like another responsibility piled on your shoulders, another item on a never-ending checklist.
As you went about making breakfast, the kitchen slowly began to fill with the aroma of food.
The sounds of frying and sizzling filled the air, a familiar routine you had grown accustomed to.
After some time, Ratio entered the kitchen, still a bit sleepy.
He approached you, leaning against the counter as you continued to work.
"What's on the menu today?" he asked, stifling a yawn.
You replied without looking at him, focusing on preparing the food.
"Toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage."
Ratio hummed in acknowledgment, his gaze following your every move.
He opened his mouth to say something, but he closed it soon after, noting your distant behavior.
Ratio stayed for a moment, observing you in the kitchen, noting the slight detachment in your demeanor.
The silence between you was palpable, as you continued preparing breakfast without meeting his gaze.
Ratio shifted his weight, leaning against the counter.
"You seem quiet today," he finally said, breaking the stillness.
"As always, love," you said, as you continued to move the sarten a little.
Ratio's eyes narrowed slightly at your response.
"Is everything alright...?" He inquired, his voice laced with concern.
You shrugged nonchalantly, continuing your tasks without lifting your gaze.
"I'm just focused on the breakfast," you replied, dodging the question.
Ratio let out a thoughtful hum, studying your demeanor.
"Are you sure? You seem... tense now."
He tried to catch your eyes, wanting to gauge your mood.
"Nah, you think too much," you said, turning the eggs.
Ratio sighed, realizing that you were not going to give in easily.
He leaned his head slightly, his eyes fixed on your back as you continued cooking.
"Sweetheart, you know you can talk to me, right?"
He tried to sound reassuring, hoping to draw an honest response from you.
Meanwhile, Aventurine appeared in the kitchen, still a bit disoriented.
"Morning," he chimed in, approaching Ratio.
Ratio glanced at him, his expression conveying a silent message.
Aventurine, still half-asleep and disheveled, shuffled closer to Ratio.
He yawned loudly and rubbed his eyes, unaware of the tension in the air.
"What's for breakfast?" he asked, his voice gravelly with sleep.
Ratio looked between Aventurine and you, noting the contrast in your demeanors.
He turned his attention back to Aventurine, trying to divert his attention.
"They're making eggs and toast," he responded, keeping his voice neutral.
Aventurine hummed in approval, the scent of breakfast rousing him further.
He took a seat at the table, still a bit groggy.
"Sounds delicious," he commented, his stomach grumbling.
However, Ratio's eyes lingered on you, his concern growing.
He observed you as you moved around the kitchen, noting the subtle signs of frustration in your movements.
Ratio cast a glance your way, noticing the way you seemed to be deliberately avoiding looking at Aventurine.
He furrowed his brow, mentally noting the subtle cues of discomfort.
He needed to tread carefully here.
"Sweetheart, can you make me a coffee?" Aven asked, from the table, lying down a little on this.
You paused your tasks, turning your gaze towards Aventurine, who was leaning on the table.
His request was a routine one, yet today it felt like another demand added to your already overflowing to-do list.
You let out a soft sigh.
"Sure, love," you responded, forcing a neutral tone.
You tried to keep a neutral expression, though the irritation was bubbling just beneath the surface.
Ratio watched the interaction with a keen eye, sensing the subtle tension in your response.
He observed as you moved to prepare Aventurine's coffee.
The silence in the kitchen was punctuated only by the sounds of brewing coffee and the sizzle of eggs frying.
Ratio continued to study you, noticing the small telltales of your frustration, the slight clenching of your jaw.
Aventurine, blissfully unaware, hummed in appreciation as he waited for his coffee.
He approached you, with calm steps, before taking your waist and attaching his body to your back.
You froze for a moment as Ratio's body suddenly came into contact with your back.
His hands on your waist were a usual gesture, but today felt like an invasion of your personal space.
You tried to conceal your discomfort.
His breath tickled the back of your neck, but instead of comfort, it only heightened your discomfort.
"Uhm... could you?" You said, as you moved your arms a little. Waiting for him to catch the hint.
Ratio seemed to misunderstand your meaning, thinking you were gesturing for something else.
He leaned in a bit more, his presence enveloping you from behind.
"What is it, sweetheart?" he asked, his voice soft and intimate.
Frustration welled up within you as his grip tightened, his body pressed closer against your back.
You let out a forced laugh, trying to maintain a semblance of normalcy.
"I need to finish cooking," you explained, your voice slightly strained. "Can you... give me some space, please?"
Ratio seemed a bit surprised by your request, but he immediately released his grip, stepping back to give you some space.
He tilted his head slightly, his expression showing a hint of concern.
"Sure, of course," he said, his voice laced with understanding.
You let out a sigh, something relieved.
"Can you take this to Aven?" you said as you pointed your hand at the fresh cup of coffee.
Ratio nodded, picking up the cup of freshly brewed coffee.
He approached Aventurine, who was still sitting at the table, and placed the cup in front of him.
"Here you go," Ratio said, his tone soft, while kissing him on the head.
Aventurine let out a slight laugh at his actions.
"Thanks," he said, recording the cup and taking a sip.
Ratio smiled back at Aventurine, watching him save the coffee.
Meanwhile, you attempted to return to cooking, trying to suppress the turmoil of emotions welling up inside you.
However, Ratio's eyes remained fixed on you, his observant gaze taking in your every movement.
Once you finished preparing breakfast, you walked to the table, holding their plates for them to eat.
You left them and also left yours in your place.
Ratio and Aventurine began to eat, the sound of their forks clinking against the porcelain creating a gentle rhythm.
However, Ratio couldn't shake off the unease he felt as he observed your behavior.
He could see the subtle signs of tension in your body language, the small gestures that hinted at your inner turmoil.
Ratio tried to engage in light conversation, hoping to ease the tension.
"The food is delicious, as always," he commented, his gaze flickering towards you.
Aventurine nodded in agreement, devouring his food with enthusiasm.
"Yeah, it's really good. You always make the best breakfast," he said, with his mouth still somewhat full.
"I'm glad you like it," you said, and before you started eating, you got up from the table, to head towards the bedroom.
They watched as you got up and started to leave the table.
His eyebrows furrowed, knowing that something was off by your abrupt departure.
"Sweetheart, you're not going to eat?" Aventurine asked, his voice tinged with concern and confusion.
You paused in your steps, turning slightly to look at them.
"Huh, yeah," you replied, your voice soft. "I'm just going to change the sheets in bed,"
"'cause I don't think you two changed it," you muttered between your teeth, before continuing on your way to the bedroom.
Ratio and Aventurine exchanged glances, realizing the hidden meaning behind your words.
"Right..." Aventurine murmured, a slight hint of embarrassment in his tone.
Meanwhile, Ratio pursed his lips.
Now, more relieved to change the dirty sheets, you left them in the washing machine.
And again you headed towards the dining room, sitting in your place.
When you arrived, you hadn't realized that your plate was now in your hands and suddenly you were now sitting on Ratio's lap.
Ratio, taking advantage of your moment of surprise, had gently pulled you onto his lap without you noticing.
A small gasp escaped your lips as you found yourself sitting on his thighs, the unexpected move leaving you momentarily flustered.
Aventurine chuckled, amused by the sight of you on Ratio's lap.
Ratio wrapped his arms around your waist, holding you snugly against his chest.
"Okay, sweetie," Aven said as he turned a little in his seat.
"Open your mouth," he added, as he approached your fork with food toward your mouth.
You felt a mixture of surprise and slight resistance as Aventurine tried to feed you.
Ratio's arms held you firmly on his lap, preventing you from moving away.
"I can feed myself," you protested, trying to push away Aventurine's hand with the fork.
Aventurine smiled mischievously as he brought the fork closer to your lips.
Ratio let out a soft chuckle, holding you tighter against him, enjoying the playful interaction.
"Come on, sweetheart, don't be so difficult," Ratio said.
"Let Vasha feed you."
Aventurine nodded in agreement, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief.
"That's right. Let us pamper you a bit," he added, bringing the fork closer to your lips again.
You moved something inconsulate, as you pulled your face away from the fork.
"No, I can do it alone," you said again, with some tension in your voice.
You were trying to control yourself so that frustration and irritation wouldn't consume you.
Ratio tightened his grip around your waist, keeping you firmly seated on his lap.
He leaned in closer, his voice now a soft murmur in your ear.
"Sweetheart, relax," he said, his breath against your ear sending a shiver down your spine.
"Just let us take care of you."
Meanwhile, Aventurine continued to attempt to feed you, enjoying the little game he had initiated.
He brought the fork gently to your lips once again, his eyes fixed on your stubborn expression.
"C'mon, just one little bite," he coaxed.
Your irritation grows more and more, your patience slowly reaching its limit.
Ratio's firm grip on your waist and Aventurine's persistence to feed you were driving you to the edge.
You gritted your teeth, trying to control the feeling of frustration that was coursing through you.
"I don't need to be pampered," you snapped, your voice strained.
You tried once again to push Aventurine's hand with the fork away, but Ratio's hold kept you firmly on his lap.
Ratio's grip remained steadfast, his arms firm around your waist.
Aventurine let out a soft chuckle, enjoying the challenge of trying to feed you.
"Oh, but we want to pamper you," Ratio said, his voice low and persuasive.
"Just one small bite, sweetheart," Aventurine echoed, attempting to force the fork into your mouth.
You were trapped between the two of them, their insistence to pamper you clashing with your growing frustration.
You couldn't hold back anymore.
The feeling of being controlled and restricted was overwhelming.
You snapped, your frustration finally exploding.
"No!" You exclaimed, pushing Aventurine's hand away forcefully, causing the fork to fall to the floor.
"I don't want to be pampered! I just want to be left alone and do things myself!"
Ratio and Aventurine froze, their playful expressions changing to surprise at your outburst.
Ratio's arms loosened around your waist as he was startled by your outburst.
He exchanged a glance with Aventurine, both of them taken aback by the force behind your words.
"Sweetheart, we..." Ratio began to say, his voice soft, but you interrupted him before he could continue.
You pushed away from Ratio's lap, standing up abruptly.
"I don't need your pampering. I can manage myself just fine," you said, your voice still tinged with anger.
Aventurine stood still, watching you get up, his eyebrows frowning a little in an hurt way.
Ratio wasn't going to keep quiet, first you push Aven's hand hard and now you behave like that?
"What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked as he got up from his chair.
You spun quickly, meeting Ratio's gaze, your frustration and irritation still visible.
"What is wrong with me? What's wrong with you two?" you retorted, your voice rising.
Ratio stepped closer to you, his eyes narrowing.
"We just want to take care of you," he said, his voice laced with frustration. "Can't we even do that?"
"Oh," you let go, almost lowering your tone, sarcastically. "of course, of course, now you both want to take care of me,"
"How funny, really," you added, letting out a slight laugh without grace.
Ratio was getting exasperated by your attitude, his patience wearing thin.
"What the hell does that mean?" He demanded, his voice raising in volume. "We've always taken care of you, so why are you acting like this now?"
Aventurine, who previously was watching the argument, finally spoke up.
"He's right, sweetheart," he intervened, "we're just trying to be nice, why are you getting mad?" his voice soft but still carrying a hint of offense.
"Oh, aeons," you let go, smiling a little as you ran your hand across your face.
At this point you didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Although you two had great jobs, apparently never learned the meaning of a few words," you snapped.
You meant the word 'always', by Ratio's words, since according to him, they always took care of you.
Ratio's irritation only grew in response to your sarcasm.
"Oh, please, enlighten us then," he said, his voice thick with sarcasm. "What words do we need to learn?"
Aventurine, now with more upset in his facial expressions, frowned.
"Yeah, I'd like to know too," he echoed Ratio's sentiment, "since apparently we've been doing a terrible job of taking care of you."
You let out a frustrated sign, your emotions boiling over.
"Do you really want to know what words?" You asked, your voice rising.
"Alright. Let's start with always. Apparently, you define 'always' as 'sometimes'," you exclaimed, your voice filled with bitterness.
"Ha! Or even like 'almost never'."
They exchange surprised glances, taken aback by your response.
Ratio crossed his arms, his irritation still palpable.
"What? We take care of you all the time," he retorted, his voice defensive.
Aventurine nodded in agreement, adding to Ratio's defense.
"Yeah, we do everything for you. We look after you, we're kind to you, and make sure you're comfortable. How is that not 'always'?"
You let go of another laugh, as a mockery.
"Oh guys, you are for each other" you said.
"Seriously, you two are completely oblivious."
Before they could answer, you kept talking.
"Oh, but let's see," you said, as you put a hand on your lips, as if you were thinking.
"Because you two are so kind and considerate to me, surely thought it would be a good idea to fuck next to me, while I was 'sleeping,'" you said as you made quotation marks with your fingers.
"Oh right," you said before clearing your throat, ready to mimic their voices.
"'Are you sure they're asleep?','Yeah, just be quiet'."
They both froze, their eyes widened in surprise at your revelation.
Ratio's expression turned from annoyance to a mix of surprise and sheepishness.
"Oh come on, it's not like we were intentionally—"
Aventurine interrupted Ratio, trying to defend themselves.
"You... you weren't asleep?," he said, his voice hesitant.
You raised an eyebrow at their words, not letting their words diminish your anger.
"Surprise, surprise! No, I wasn't sleeping," you retorted, "It's hard to sleep when the bed is shaking violently and there's moans all night long."
Aventurine's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, realizing the implications of your words.
Ratio's annoyance returned, trying to defend their actions.
"Well, we didn't realize you were awake," he said, "We just thought you were a heavy sleeper or something."
"Bullshit," you released.
"Oh, Aven, how is your back?" You asked, pretending to be concerned.
Aventurine's embarrassment only deepened.
"Uh, it's... fine," he muttered, his voice quieter than usual.
Ratio, however, was not about to back down.
"What's the big deal anyway?" he said, his irritation seeping into his voice. "We're in a relationship, it's normal for us to be intimate."
You let out an exasperated sign, your frustration growing even more.
"The 'big deal' is that it's disrespectful and inconsiderate," you said, your voice growing louder.
"You two made all that noise and didn't even bother to check if I was asleep or not."
Ratio rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.
"Oh, come on now," he said, "you're blowing this out of proportion. We just forgot to check. It's not a big deal."
"Yes, it's a big deal, because I'm also your partner!" you snapped, with a heavy annoyance in your tone.
Ratio seemed unfazed by your assertion.
"Yes," he responded, his tone not matching your annoyance. "You are our partner, but we have our own relationship too."
This only fueled your irritation even more.
"So what? You think I'm just an accessory to your relationship?" you snapped.
Aventurine, sensing the tension, tried to intervene.
"Sweetheart, that's not what he means," he tried to mediate.
"Shut up," you let go, as it was starting to irritate you to want to appease the situation, as if it wasn't anything important.
Aventurine's attempt to intervene was abruptly shut down by your sharp words.
Ratio, feeling provoked by your reaction, shot back.
"Hey, don't talk to him like that," he snapped, his irritation reaching its peak.
You, on the other hand, were not backing down.
"Why not? I'm tired of you two treating me as if my feelings don't matter," you said, your voice rising once again.
Ratio's defensive attitude was not waning.
"Your feelings do matter," he retorted, "but you're overreacting. It's just a small example."
You were becoming more and more frustated by Ratio's dismissal of your feelings.
"Example?" you asked.
"You want more examples?, of course," you let go, getting a little closer to both.
"Maybe that 'decoration' and 'partner' stuff isn't the best term for me."
Ratio's annoyance turned into confusion, as he exchanged a glance with Aventurine.
"You know what should be the term that describes me?" You asked rhetorically before answering yourself.
"Assistant who is more of a servant,"
Ratio and Aventurine fell silent, shocked by your words.
Ratio seemed taken aback, his expression turning dark.
"Assistant? Servant? What are you saying?" He asked, his voice low.
Aventurine, on the other hand, seemed saddened by your words.
"Is that really how you see yourself?" He asked, his voice soft.
"And you still ask, Kakavasha?" You snapped, as you looked at him, after asking that stupid question.
"Now all I hear are petitions, petitions and more petitions." You kept talking, not waiting for them to respond. "Even some become orders,"
Ratio was becoming angry at your comparison.
"That's not true," he argued, "we don't treat you like a servant."
Aventurine was already getting tense again, bothered by the tone you were talking about and how to say things that, to him, made no sense.
"We just ask for your help with small things sometimes," he said, his voice steady.
But you continued to express your frustration.
"It's not just 'small things,'" you said, "It feels like that's all I'm there for, to do whatever you ask, whenever you want."
You saw that Ratio was going to speak again, you supposed to dismiss your words, so you didn't let him answer, speaking first.
"Put this in the washing machine, did you change the bath towels?, Pass me this, pass me that, You have the agenda tomorrow and in the past?, Wash the clothes, Clean the house, Wash the dishes, Order our belongings, Make me a coffee, Is breakfast ready?" You said suddenly, several examples of what they were asking for. "And the list goes on,"
Seeing their faces, you mocked, "A little more and I'm ordered to make an appointment for you two."
Aventurine was starting to get defensive, but he was still trying to control himself.
"We just ask for your help because we need it," he said, his voice rising. "We're busy with other things."
You, on the other hand, weren't accepting their excuses.
"You two are always too busy," you said, your own voice rising. "What about me? I'm busy too, I have things to do, you know?"
Ratio, who had been quiet for a few moments, suddenly interjected.
"Are you really that busy?" He asked sarcastically. "You're just at home, doing nothing all day."
That stung hard.
You felt a stab of resentment at his words, as if he had dismissed all the hard work you did day in and day out to keep their life together.
"Doing nothing all day?" You echoed, your voice filled with a mixture of hurt and anger. "You really think that?"
Ratio held his gaze, his eyes cold as he spoke.
"Well, what else do you do?" I've inquired.
"Ha, right," You let out a bitter laugh, "I don't do anything and you're both so busy, so I have to be always on call to wait on you."
Ratio's expression hardened, not appreciating your sarcasm.
"We're not asking you to be on call," he said, his voice growing louder. "We just expect you to help out around the house and with other matters. It's a partnership."
"You live here too, so you should pull your weight," Aventurine added, echoing Ratio's words.
You felt your frustration boiling over.
"Pull my weight?" You repeated, your voice rising. "I already do-"
"How much you complain about, if that's what you signed the contracts for, that's what you're our assistant for." Ratio interrupted you, coldly in his tone.
Your irritation shot up even outside, fueled by Ratio's words.
"And there it is," you snapped, "the real reason you two want me here, right? I'm just your little helper, your assistant, here to do the dirty work while you two play."
This time, Ratio didn't deny anything. "Yes, because that's who you are."
You felt a pang of pain at his confirmation. It was as if he had just confirmed all your fears, that you were nothing more than a convenient presence in their lives.
Aventurine chimed in, his voice trying to defend Ratio.
"It's not just about that," he said, hesitantly. "We value your company, and we enjoy spending time with you-"
You cut him off.
"As long as I'm useful, right?" You said, your voice tinged with bitterness.
The realization that your relationship with them had been reduced to a transactional, one-sided partnership hit you hard.
Your eyes stung with unshed tears, but you pushed on, refusing to back down.
"Is that really all I am to you?" You asked, your voice shaking slightly. "Just a convenience?"
Ratio's Demeanor remained cold, unfazed by your emotional display.
"You knew the terms when you signed the contracts," he stated matter-of-factly.
Aventurine, a little quieter up to that point, chimed in.
"We told you what the arrangement would be from the start," he said, his tone less harsh than Ratio's. "But that doesn't mean we don't have a relationship."
"Right, a 'relationship,'" you repeated, with a touch of sarcasm. "Is that what you call this? Because from where I'm standing, it feels more like you two just want a live-in maid."
Ratio's expression darkened even more, clearly not appreciating your tone.
"We're not forcing you to stay here, you know," he said. "If you're so unhappy, you can always leave."
His words were like another knife in your heart.
You weren't sure how to respond. The thought of leaving them had never crossed your mind. Despite everything, you loved them. But the way they had just treated you, like you were nothing more than a convenience, had hurt deeply.
You swallowed hard, trying to keep your voice steady.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you, Veritas?" You retorted, your voice quivering slightly.
But as much as you tried, you couldn't stop the tears you were trying not to shed from falling.
Ratio shrugged nonchalantly, as if to say that's what he really thought. Aventurine, on the other hand, remained silent, unable to defend you.
It was so unfair.
You looked at Ratio with displeasure, no matter that your vision is blurred by tears
You stopped looking at him, to look at Aventurine, waiting for him to say something, to take your side in this.
But seeing that he wasn't going to say anything, you were instantly agitated.
"I met you first," you said, almost in a plea.
He looked down to one side.
"Vasha...?" You asked, something fearful about his action.
"...I met him first." He said, in a low tone.
Your heart sank further. It was as if Ratio's words had just confirmed everything you had feared. It was clear that they valued each other more than they valued you.
Oh, you felt so stupid.
You started sobbing, with that, humbling yourself more in front of both of you.
You didn't want to do that, but after suppressing your feelings for a long time, it made it difficult for you to control yourself a little.
Both Ratio and Aventurine seemed uncomfortable at the sight of your crying. Ratio looked away, clearly not interested in dealing with your emotional outburst. Aventurine, on the other hand, looked conflicted, torn between comforting you or respecting Ratio's attitude.
He took a step closer to you, but Ratio stopped him with a gesture.
"Don't coddle them," Ratio commanded, his voice still firm. Aventurine hesitated, looking conflicted, but ultimately stayed put.
"You're being cruel." Aventurine mumbled, looking at Ratio with a certain disapproval for his way of acting.
Ratio shot a sharp glance at Aventurine.
"They're just being overly emotional," Ratio said, dismissing Aventurine's concern.
Meanwhile, their words and lack of compassion only deepened your sobbing. You felt completely alone in this.
Maybe you were from the start.
Even standing there in front of them you tried to cover your face, with your hands you tried to clumsily wipe your tears, to stop humiliating yourself.
Ratio's coldness contrasted sharply with Aventurine's visible concern.
"Oh, stop," Ratio said, rolling his eyes.
Aventurine protested again.
"They're obviously hurt," he said, his eyes flickering to you, "We can't just ignore that."
Ratio shrugged indifferently.
"They'll be fine," he said. "They're just being dramatic."
Aventurine looked at Ratio with a mix of disbelief and disappointment.
"You're unbelievable," he mumbled.
Meanwhile, Ratio looked almost annoyed.
"Now, come on, it's been late," he said, starting to walk into the bedroom, to change and get out.
Aventurine watched Ratio leave the space and then turned his gaze to you.
You kept wiping away your tears as best as you could, still trying to compose yourself, but the hurt and frustration were deep-seated.
When he approached you, you took a step back, feeling vulnerable and a bit defensive after the previous argument.
His voice was softer than Ratio's had been.
"Here, let me…" Aventurine said, gently reaching out to help you wipe your tears.
You didn't refuse, but it wasn't like you accepted or made the slightest attempt to stick to him.
Aventurine tried to be gentle as he dabbed away your tears.
But you were still feeling raw and hurt, and it was difficult for you to feel comforted. You kept looking down, avoiding his gaze.
You didn't feel special or anything, at that moment you could just continue sobbing and letting the tears soak your face.
Ratio, impatient and already on his way to the bedroom, called out to him. "Vasha, come on."
Aventurine shot a concerned glance at you before looking back at Ratio.
"What about them?" he asked, gesturing towards you.
Ratio didn't even look back.
"They'll be fine," Ratio repeated, as he opened the bedroom door. "They just need a moment to calm down."
Aventurine let out a sigh, torn between staying with you or complying with Ratio's demand. He seemed torn, as if he didn't want to leave you in that state, but also didn't want to ignore Ratio's call.
He looked at you again, his eyes reflecting his conflict. Finally, he spoke in a hushed tone, as if he didn't want Ratio to hear.
"We'll talk later, alright?" he said, trying to give a small reassurances.
Then, without waiting for your response, Aventurine reluctantly followed Ratio into the bedroom.
The door closed behind Aventurine, leaving you alone in the hallway.
The silence echoed in your ears, the only sound being your shallow breathing as you tried to contain your sobs.
You felt so alone and unimportant. It seemed as if your emotions didn't matter to Ratio, and even Aventurine's attempts at comfort seemed half-hearted.
The apartment was now quiet, and you were left with your thoughts. The realization of Ratio's harsh words, his casual dismissal of you, and Aventurine's inability to defend you or at least stand up for you, weighed heavily on your heart.
You remained standing in the hallway, the sobs still making your chest ache with each deep breath.
You managed to go and lock yourself in the spare room next to the master bedroom, seeking solace in that bed.
After locking the door, you climbed into the bed and curled up in a ball under the covers.
The tears continued to fall, your body trembling from the force of your sobs. The room was dark, and the silence around you seemed to amplify your pain.
The conversation with them played over and over again in your mind, their words like poison in your heart.
They just see you as their little helper, someone who serves their needs.
You clutched a pillow tightly, burying your face in it as you tried to muffle your sobs. The pain of their indifference was almost physical, like a weight pressing heavily on your chest.
It was as if the bed enveloped you in a cold, embraced the loneliness you felt in your core.
But just being there and allowing yourself to cry felt good, you didn't hold back.
You don't know how long you were there, sobbing and sobbing, but at some point, tiredness made you practically faint, falling sound asleep.
Even at night, when they had both already returned home, you were still in that room, sleeping.
As they entered the apartment, they noticed that the table was still with the dirty dishes and your breakfast plate that you did not even arrive to eat.
Ratio and Aventurine exchanged a knowing look as they noticed the untouched breakfast.
Ratio spoke first.
"They didn't eat anything all day, huh?" He said, a hint of indifference in his voice.
Aventurine nodded, a mix of guilt and shame on his face.
"I guess not," he mumbled.
Ratio let out a sigh, as he squeezed the bridge of his nose a little.
Ratio walked a little further through the apartment, his expression hard to read.
Aventurine followed him, his footsteps echoing behind Ratio's.
"Maybe we should have checked on them," Aventurine said, his voice tinged with guilt.
Ratio remained silent, while frowning somewhat hesitantly.
Aventurine spoke again, his voice was low.
"Do you think they're still upset?" he asked Ratio.
Ratio let out a sigh again.
"Of course they're upset," he replied, "We literally said hurtful things to their face, Vasha."
Aventurine looked even more guilty as Ratio stated the obvious.
"But I thought you said they were just overreacting?" He said, almost defensively.
Ratio looked to the side, somewhat annoyed by Aventurine's comment. "And I think they are," he said, "But that doesn't mean we didn't hurt them."
There was a moment of silence between the two, before Ratio spoke again. This time, his voice softer than before.
"We may have to find a way to apologize," he said, sighing again.
Aventurine nodded in agreement, seemingly glad that Ratio had considered some kind of reconciliation.
Ratio continued to look at the dirty dishes, the ones they had left there before going out and the breakfast that you had prepared but not touched. That made him feel a new pang, a pang of guilt, but he refused to dwell on that now.
Aventurine spoke again, breaking the silence.
"We should talk to them, right?"
Ratio considered for a moment before nodding.
"Yes, we can talk to them."
Aventurine seemed to take a silent sigh of relief, glad that Ratio agreed to the option.
"When?" he prompted.
Ratio looked at the bedroom door, clearly aware that you were in there.
"Now," Ratio answered, his voice firm.
Aventurine stared at Ratio, slightly surprised by the response.
"Now? But they might be asleep..." he muttered, hesitantly.
Ratio's expression didn't change, as he was resolute.
"It's still early," he replied, "And they are probably awake."
Ratio started walking towards the bedroom door, Aventurine following close behind.
As they approached the door Ratio paused, listening for a moment to see if he could hear any sounds from inside.
Meanwhile, Aventurine stood by, his heart racing a little.
In the finals, he ended up knocking on the door, not too loud.
There was no response after five minutes.
Aventurine shifted uncomfortably. "Maybe they really are asleep," he said hesitantly.
Ratio sighed, a slight trace of worry crossing his expression.
"Maybe...we should check on them," he suggested, his voice tinged with a subtle concern.
Aventurine nodded, agreeing with Ratio's suggestion.
"Yeah,"
Ratio took a breath, then reached for the doorknob and slowly turned it, opening the door a crack to peek inside.
Ratio slowly opened the door and looked inside.
The bedroom was dark, the only light coming from the lamp in the hallway. However, it was enough to see you lying on the bed, your face buried in the pillows.
A soft, regular sound betrayed the steady rhythm of your breathing.
Ratio pushed the door open a little further, his eyes still fixed on your sleeping form.
Aventurine peered over his shoulder, trying to catch a glimpse of you.
"Are they...?" Aventurine whispered, looking at Ratio.
Ratio answered, still observing you. "Yes, they are asleep."
Aventurine let out a sigh, relieved to know that you were indeed asleep.
"That's good, right...?" he said, half expecting Ratio to agree with him.
Ratio, still looking at you, however, didn't answer immediately.
He simply stood there, watching you sleep silently, a strange expression on his face.
Ratio's sudden silence confused Aventurine. He looked at Ratio's face, trying to understand his expression.
"Veritas?" Aventurine murmured, his voice a little higher than a whisper.
Ratio turned his head slightly, his eyes still fixed on you.
"Hm?" he responded, almost as if he had forgotten that Aventurine was there.
Aventurine looked at Ratio and then at you again, starting to realize that Ratio was strangely contemplative.
"Are you...ok?" Aventurine asked, a note of hesitation in his voice.
Ratio seemed to come out of his trance, snapping his eyes back to Aventurine.
"Yes, I'm fine," he said, though there was a slight hesitation in his words.
Ratio slowly closed the door, then turned to Aven.
Who grabbed his face, somewhat worried.
"Tomorrow we will talk to them and everything will be fine," he said, rubbing his cheeks gently.
"Yes, tomorrow," he repeated, more as if assuring himself than Aventurine.
He closed his eyes for a moment, letting Aventurine's hands remain on his face for a while.
It was somewhat comforting, but Ratio's mind was still occupied with the previous argument.
...
The morning sun slowly shone through the curtains, illuminating the bedroom.
Ratio and Aventurine, both already awake, were still lying in bed. However, neither of them had gotten up yet.
Ratio had his eyes fixed on a point on the ceiling while Aventurine sat against the headboard, looking thoughtful.
There was an unusual tension between them, the events of the previous day hanging heavily in the air.
Aventurine broke the silence first.
"Veritas," he said, looking at Ratio.
Ratio turned to look at him, wordlessly waiting for him to speak.
Aventurine continued, his voice low but firm. "We need to talk to them, like we said we would," he said.
Ratio sighed slightly, already knowing what was coming.
He knew they had agreed to speak to you, but the thought of it made him uncomfortable.
"I know," he murmured, turning his gaze back to the ceiling.
Aventurine noticed Ratio's uneasiness and looked at him with slight irritation.
"Why do you look so reluctant?" he asked, a note of annoyance in his voice.
Ratio didn't answer immediately, he looked away to one side, avoiding Aventurine's gaze.
Aventurine pressed him again.
"Veritas."
Ratio finally turned to him, his expression somewhat resigned.
"I feel like I went too far," he said.
Aventurine's expression softened a little, hearing Ratio's confession.
"I think we both went too far," he said, gently.
"Yeah," he confessed, his voice softer than usual. "What I said yesterday was...harsh."
"You feel...bad?"
Ratio nodded slightly, sighing afterwards.
"I feel ashamed," he admitted, still avoiding eye contact.
Aventurine moved a little closer to him, a hint of empathy in his eyes.
He reached out and placed a hand on Ratio's shoulder, a gesture of comfort.
"I feel the same," he said quietly. "I should have said something, tried to stop you..."
Ratio finally looked at him, the corner of his mouth tugging slightly in something resembling a weak smile.
"I wouldn't have listened to you anyway," he said, not trying to hide the truth.
Aventurine couldn't help but chuckle a little despite the serious atmosphere within the room.
"Probably not," he agreed.
There was a moment of silence, before Aventurine spoke again, changing the topic.
"Do you think they will forgive us...?"
Ratio closed his eyes for a moment, thinking about the question.
The events of the day before played again in his mind, each harsh word, and your tearful expression.
"I don't know," he responded truthfully, his voice low. "I hope so, but..."
He was going to say something else, but he shake his head, pushing away negative thoughts.
"No, they're going to forgive us." He said, in a way of convincing himself.
"They will," Aventurine said, in an attempt to give some comfort, although his face said that he had doubts.
Ratio nodded slightly, yet the look in his eyes betrayed the uncertainty he still felt.
Then, another silence fell across the room, only the sound of a clock ticking could be heard.
After a long moment, Aventurine spoke again, breaking the quiet.
"We should get up...and go talk to them," he said, glancing at the bedroom door.
"Yes, we should..." Ratio agreed, though neither of them made any effort to actually get up from the bed.
They both lay there for a few more moments, as if they had both suddenly lost the courage to do what they had promised.
Aventurine was the first to stir, sitting up.
"Come on," he said, reaching out a hand towards Ratio, silently prompting him to get up as well.
Ratio looked at Aventurine's outstretched hand for a moment before finally grasping it and pulling himself up.
He swung his legs off the bed and got to his feet, feeling somewhat reluctant but knowing that the conversation was unavoidable.
No one said anything as they left the room to go to the dining room.
As they entered the dining room, their eyes immediately fell on the breakfast table.
Or, more precisely, on its lack of dirty dishes.
The plate they had left after breakfast was gone. The table was completely clean and polished as usual.
Their eyes fixed on the spotless surface for a moment, then they heard noise in the kitchen.
They both turned in the direction of the kitchen at the noise.
As they stepped into the kitchen, they were met by the sight of you standing by the counter.
Currently, you were busy placing clean dishes in a cabinet.
You even had food put in a pan, which was being frightened, while you arranged some clean dishes and glasses that you had just finished washing and drying.
They stood at the entrance for a moment, both a little unsure of what to say or how to behave.
You seemed to be too focused on your tasks to notice their presence at first.
Aventurine and Ratio exchanged a quick glance, both aware that this was the moment they had to talk to you.
Then, Ratio took a step forward and cleared his throat slightly to get your attention.
Your head snapped over to look at him, surprise and a slight hint of cold indifference appearing on your face as you made eye contact with Ratio.
Seeing your expression made Ratio hesitate for a moment, his throat feeling dry. He swallowed, trying to find the right words to say.
Aventurine, standing next to him, shot him a look that clearly said, say something.
There was a palpable tension in the air, the events of the day before still hanging heavy between you all.
You broke the silence first, your voice quiet but steady.
"Good morning."
Seeing that no one was speaking, you were not going to be rude, especially to your bosses.
Ratio took a moment to respond, feeling a bit taken aback by your flat greeting.
"Good morning," he returned, his voice somewhat awkward.
Ratio opened his mouth slightly, to try to say something again, but words got stuck in his throat.
He wanted to apologize right away, but he couldn't find the right words.
Aventurine noticed his struggle and decided to act first.
He stepped forward until he was standing next to Ratio, then sighed slightly before speaking.
"Can we...talk to you?" he said, his voice softer than usual.
You finished placing the last glass in the cabinet and closed the door before turning to face them fully.
"We're already talking," you said, something obvious.
Ratio pursed his lips at your response, a bit irritated by your coldness. But he knew it was their own fault, he tried to stay calm.
"But yeah, we can talk when I'm done preparing breakfast." You spoke before they said anything.
"Also, I also have to talk to both about some things," you added, calmly, as you turned back to the stove, to make sure that the food does not burn.
They watched you turn your back to them to tend to the food, a lump forming in each of their throats.
They both hadn't expected such a sharp and indifferent response from you, but they knew they deserved it.
Ratio looked at Aventurine, who seemed just as uncomfortable and regretful.
Neither of them spoke, waiting for you to continue.
The only sounds in the room were the quiet sounds of the food cooking and the sizzling.
After a few moments, you spoke again, still with your back to them.
"You can sit down," you said, gesturing slightly towards the table behind them.
Ratio and Aventurine exchanged a look, then both sat down at the table, silently.
They waited, the silence seemed to stretch on indefinitely.
"Love, you want me to, huh, help you?" Aventurine tried to break the uncomfortable silence.
You shook your head without turning around, silently rejecting Aventurine's offer.
"No, thank you. I'm handling it."
They remained silent again, watching you work.
Ratio leaned back in his seat, his hands clasped together under his chin, as he watched you in silence.
Aventurine, for his part, was tapping his fingers nervously on the tabletop, his gaze flitting back and forth between you and Ratio.
The atmosphere was uncomfortable, with none of them knowing how to begin the conversation.
You continued your tasks in the kitchen, acting as if they weren't there.
Finally, you turned off the stove and turned around to face them again.
You had plates in your hands, which you put in front of them. The smell of the food was good.
"Here's the food," you said, still in a cold tone.
Then you turned around again, bringing your own plate, as you sat in front of them.
Ratio and Aventurine looked at the food on their plates.
It all looked very good, just like you always prepared.
But, they didn't feel like eating, the knot in their stomachs preventing them from doing so.
You started to eat, silently. Ratio and Aventurine didn't move.
Another silence fell, heavy and uncomfortable.
Aventurine glanced at Ratio, silently communicating to say something, before it got even more tense.
Ratio took a moment to look back at Aventurine.
He knew Aventurine was right. They had to start the conversation.
He turned his gaze to you, who continued to eat, without looking up.
He opened his mouth to say something, but still, the words didn't flow.
Finally, after taking a deep breath, he managed to start speaking.
"We… we want to apologize," Ratio began, his voice strained, "for what we said yesterday."
You didn't respond to Ratio's apology right away, continuing to eat.
However, they could see that you had stopped for a moment, listening to him.
"We said some things that...we didn't mean," Ratio continued, his expression remorseful. "And we didn't act right, towards you," he added quietly, casting his eyes downward.
You finished chewing and swallowing what you had in your mouth before you spoke.
"Okay, now I want to hear you," you said, looking at Aventurine.
By the time you had listened to Ratio, so now it was time for you to hear him.
Aventurine swallowed hard, feeling like a child who had just been scolded.
He swallowed, feeling the knots in his stomach tighten even more.
"I also want to apologize," he said, his voice slightly unsteady. "I shouldn't have said what I said yesterday," he admitted, regretting the words he had spoken.
Then, he added, his face more distressed. "I also shouldn't have been silent, when Veritas-" He stopped short, realizing he almost referred to Ratio as such.
A small, almost bitter smile pulled at the corner of your mouth. But you said nothing about it.
Ratio, at that, felt a sudden pang in his chest.
But, he kept quiet, his lips pursed.
He had noticed, throughout the previous day and this morning, how you responded differently to each of them.
You seemed to forgive or react better to Aventurine, than to him. Which he couldn't blame you for, but it hurt more than he would like to admit.
You sat quietly for a few moments, letting them speak.
You knew they were trying. You could tell, they were at the very least, sincere in their apologies.
You took another bite, slowly chewed, and swallowed before speaking again.
"I accepted your apologies, both of you," you confirmed.
Ratio felt some relief at your words, even if your cold tone still hurt. But he still remained silent.
Aventurine, on the other hand, also felt that small load leave his shoulders and he smiled slightly, glad you forgave him.
He looked at Ratio, encouraging him to continue the conversation.
Ratio couldn't help but notice your cold tone, even after accepting their apologies, and it only made him feel worse.
He wanted to say something about it, but held back, knowing it wasn't the right time.
Instead, he continued, speaking again, his voice still somewhat strained.
"We really regret what we said," he said again, his eyes fixing on yours. "We want...we want us to go back to how we were before," he said, swallowing hard.
You took a pause to study both of them.
You could see that Ratio was uncomfortable and, although Aventurine was trying to look better, you could tell he was uncomfortable, too.
You couldn't deny that the relationship between you had deteriorated, and you wanted to change that, too.
"I don't think we can go back to how we were before..." you said, your eyes looking away to one side, as you continued to speak. "But we can...start again," you suggested, your head turning back towards them.
Ratio felt a pang of hope at your words.
Start again.
Maybe you had more hope for them than you wanted to show.
He relaxed his shoulders slightly, feeling some of the tension being released.
"You...you're giving us a second chance?" Aventurine asked, his tone a mixture of disbelief and optimism.
You nodded slightly at Aventurine's question.
A small smile tugged at the corner of your mouth. "Yes, I'm willing to give you both a second chance," you said, your tone less cold than before.
"Have you two finished speaking?" You asked, in a calm voice.
At that, Ratio shook his head a little, all of the above had been his imagination.
"Uhm, yes," Aventurine said, quietly, responding for him and Ratio.
You let out a small sigh and looked at both, your expression still cold.
"Like I said before, I accept your apologies, but they don't erase what you two said, or what happened."
They both knew that, but it still hurt to hear it.
"We understand," Ratio said quietly, still looking down, as he fiddled with his fingers nervously.
You took another bite, slowly chewed, and swallowed before speaking again.
"Good," you responded, your tone not so cold, but still guarded.
"So, don't take my forgiveness as a sign that everything is fine between us," you clarified.
They nodded slightly, understanding the warning in your words.
"We won't," Aven said, his voice hoarse again, the knot in his stomach twisting even more.
Silence fell again, a heavy one.
You continued to eat silently, while Ratio and Aventurine remained sitting, staring at their plates, their untouched food.
You looked up from your food again, noticing their plates.
"You both are going to eat that or just stare at it?" You asked, an edge of sharpness in your voice again.
They both stiffened at the sharpness in your voice.
Ratio opened his mouth to answer, "We aren't-" he started to speak, but a loud rumble interrupted him.
He stopped, a look of embarrassment crossing his face as he realized the source of the sound.
He hadn't even realized that, since he hadn't eaten breakfast, his stomach was protesting.
Aventurine stifled a laugh, looking at Ratio amused, and trying to cover his mouth with a hand.
Looking at them, it was kind of bitter to you.
The table was silent for a while, every now and then you looked at them, finally they were eating.
You let out a sigh, before placing your fork on the plate again.
"I wanted to make everything clear, because that's what the worker-boss relationship I have with you is all about." Your voice came out calm, without any hint of hate.
They both froze in their seats, looking at you as you spoke.
Ratio could not help the feeling of his stomach twisting upon hearing those words.
Aventurine was much more expressive, his face fell, disappointment clear in his eyes.
He felt his chest tighten and his breathing become slightly ragged, but he didn't say anything. He tried to keep his voice steady as he spoke, "So, you...you mean we're just...boss and employee...again?"
Your eyes moved back and forth between them as they spoke, noting their reactions.
You took a moment to think, you knew your words would hurt them, but it was necessary.
"Yes," you answered, your tone firm.
"For the moment, our relationship can't be as it was before. We need to redefine the limits between us."
They swallowed hard, both of them still looking at you with slightly dejected expressions.
On the one hand, you wanted them to feel bad. The things they said were not acceptable, and it stung that they had thought you would forgive them so easily.
But at the same time, you didn't like seeing them like that, and a small part of you was screaming to just say 'no, that's not it' and hug them tightly.
"I'm thinking about myself this time," you said, holding firm in your decisions.
Ratio and Aventurine sat silently, silently processing your words.
Ratio's shoulders slumped, a mixture of guilt and disappointment in his eyes.
He couldn't blame you for your decision, as it was a logical one.
Aventurine, on the other hand, was visibly upset by your statement, but he tried to keep his voice level and composed.
"What does that mean? What are the limits again?" he asked, his voice tinged with barely suppressed frustration.
You leaned back in your chair, folding your arms across your chest as you looked at them.
"The limits include a more professional relationship, no intimate nicknames or comments," you listed some examples, your tone matter-of-fact.
"No touching me without my permission, even something small," you added a bit firmer, your eyes slightly hardening.
Ratio bit his lip at your words, feeling a pang in his heart at the thought of not being able to hold or hug you anymore.
However, he understood, it was his own fault for everything that was now happening.
Aventurine was visibly more frustrated by the established limits, but he tried to control himself, although his words came out a bit sharper than he wanted.
"And, how long are we going to be like this?" He asked, trying to keep his voice calm.
You raised an eyebrow, totally unbelieving of his words.
"I don't think you two are getting it," you said calmly.
Ratio glanced at Aventurine, clearly not liking his tone.
Aventurine, however, chose to ignore Ratio's look and focused on you.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice filled with a mixture of frustration and resignation.
Ratio, on his part, chose to remain silent, watching silently for now.
You let out a small sigh, not surprised that your words hadn't gotten through to them.
"The duration of this situation is indefinite," you said, matter-of-factly. "Maybe permanent,"
Ratio's stomach dropped upon hearing your words.
Permanent?
That can't be true, right?
He glanced at you, his expression hopeful, silently praying that you would change your mind.
Aventurine, on the other hand, could not believe what he was hearing.
"You can't be serious," he said, his voice filled with disbelief. "This can't be permanent, I-" he started to protest, his body tense.
"It is, because I'm getting out of your relationship,"
Your tone was firm, not showing any signs of wavering.
Ratio could start to feel a slight panic rising in his chest, but he tried to keep himself calm.
"You can't do that," Aventurine protested, his frustration coming through in his voice. "You-" he tried to continue, but you interrupted him.
"No, you don't have a say in this," you said firmly, your eyes fixed on him.
Aventurine opened his mouth to speak again, but Ratio spoke first this time, his voice a little desperate.
"Please," Ratio pleaded, "There must be another way.", his voice cracking a little.
His heart was racing rapidly, his palms started to moisten with sweat.
Aventurine looked at Ratio, surprise and slight hurt at his desperation.
He was just as surprised to hear Ratio, someone who was usually rational and controlled, talk in such a panicky way.
You thought you were going to falter, to have your decision go to the trash if you ever saw it like that, but somehow, you stayed calm.
"Why are you complaining?" You started.
"Isn't this what you wanted, Veritas?" You asked.
"”cause after all, you met him first, right, Kakavasha?" You asked again now looking at Aven, keeping calm.
"Why are you two complaining then?"
Ratio's breath caught in his throat upon hearing that.
It felt like a punch in the face, a painful reminder of the situation.
He bit his lip, a lump forming in his throat.
Aventurine, at that, froze in his seat, his heart dropping at your words.
He felt as if you had just stabbed him, deep.
He took a shaky breath and replied, his voice wavering, "That's not-" he began, but was unable to finish.
You finished eating your last pieces of food before getting up from the table.
"Finish eating, it's getting late," you said, as you went to the kitchen to leave your plate.
Ratio swallowed hard, trying not to let his emotions get the best of him.
Aventurine also struggled to keep his emotions under control, his shoulders tensing.
Neither of the two spoke again, they could only watch you disappear into the kitchen.
They couldn't believe it.
It had ended.
All of it.

veritas ratio x female reader; 18+ content (MINORS/AGELESS/BLANK BLOGS do not interact, you'll be blocked), established relationship, oral (f. receiving), slightly pussy drunk ratio, messy pussy eating, implied overstimulation at the end, #needthat – masterlist here ☆~(ゝ。∂)
veritas ratio never really understood the appeal of going down on someone.
it wasn’t that he was against it — it was just something that never really crossed his mind. humans had needs, sure, and you were no exception; with you as his girlfriend, he became more aware of that fact. he’d use toys on you, his fingers even, pressing and curling them inside you in calculated ways that had you panting and trembling.
but his mouth? now that was something he hadn’t considered.
not until tonight.
"what do you need?" he whispers into your ear, his voice calm and collected, like he’s conducting one of his usual experiments. "tell me exactly what you need from me."
you're already burning up from the way he’s been teasing you all night, his fingers brushing against your soaked folds but never fully giving you what you crave. and then you say it, breathy and desperate, "i need your mouth… on me."
he stops.
completely still, like you’ve just hit him with something he’s never computed before. his eyes flicker over you, scanning your expression, the flushed look on your face, the way your chest rises and falls with each shaky breath.
"my mouth?" he repeats, his voice carrying a faint hint of confusion as if he’s trying to understand a new formula. he’s tasted you before — off his fingers, in small, fleeting moments — but this? fully indulging? he tilts his head slightly, brows furrowing like he’s examining an unfamiliar hypothesis.
"yes," you practically whimper, need pulsing through your core. "please… i need you there."
he takes a long pause, processing. logically, it makes sense. there must be some valid reason so many people seem to enjoy it, why so many swear by it. it’s another mechanism, another tool to explore, to utilize. why not? he’ll never know the depths of it until he experiences it firsthand.
so he moves down, slow, deliberate, like he's approaching an experiment he’s not entirely sure about but willing to engage in. his fingers part your folds, exposing you to him, and his gaze sharpens, analyzing every detail of how your body reacts, how wet and needy you are. you feel him breathe against you, warm and soft, before his lips finally meet your core.
the first touch of his mouth is tentative, experimental, like he’s testing the waters, and the moment your hips jerk toward him, he knows he’s onto something. he licks a slow, measured stripe up your slit, tasting you fully for the first time in this way. the sound that leaves your lips — broken, needy — has him hooked.
"fascinating," he murmurs against you, his voice sending vibrations straight through your core. and then, as if the data clicks in his mind, he dives in.
his mouth is everywhere — lips sucking, tongue swirling, fingers gripping your thighs to keep you spread wide for him. the more he tastes you, the sloppier he gets, abandoning the calm, calculated movements. he's messier now, groaning into your pussy like he can’t get enough of your taste, his tongue flicking over your clit again and again.
"fuck —" you gasp, your hands tangling into his hair as your back arches off the bed.
he pulls back for a second, his lips slick and shiny, looking up at you with that same analytical gaze. "you taste… better than i expected," he says, as if he’s stating a simple fact. then, without another word, he’s back between your thighs, lapping at you greedily, like he’s trying to understand every little reaction your body gives him.
he’s addicted now, completely immersed in the act, the taste of you. he wonders, as he sucks your clit into his mouth, why didn’t he do this sooner? why hadn’t he explored this with you before? it’s unlike anything he’s experienced — the way you buck and writhe under him, the sweet, wet sounds of his tongue and lips against your pussy. it’s intoxicating.
"ratio — i’m close, please," you whine, your thighs trembling as he flicks his tongue over your swollen clit, sucking and licking in a rhythm that has you spiraling.
he hums in acknowledgment, but doesn’t let up, his fingers digging into your skin as he holds you in place, his tongue working faster, sloppier, his mouth drenched in you. he’s so focused, so consumed by your taste, that when you finally break, crying out his name, shaking under his mouth, he groans, grinding his hips into the mattress, desperate for his own relief.
"good girl," he murmurs against your pussy, not stopping even after you’ve come, licking and sucking like he’s starved, addicted, wanting more of you, as if he's only just begun to unravel what makes you tick.
