Fuente de Venus, Piriápolis, Uruguay: The Fountain of Venus is located on Avenida de Mayo in the Uruguayan city of Piriápolis (Maldonado), almost at the exit to Route 93. The park where the fountain is located is accessed by Defensa Street or by the Camino de Los Arrayanes at the base of Cerro del Toro. It was built by Francisco Piria, founder of the city of Piriápolis, whose original name was "City of the Future". The temple is the work of the architect Beltrame. The statue of Venus was designed by Mathurin Moreau and made in the French foundry Val D'Osne. Wikipedia

Non-alien human alien #8 Sticky Ideas
The venue was large and the amount of people created a loud buzz, even so, Anna vastly preferred this to a dance party. Captain Vance had received a commendation for his services and most of Helios crew had been invited to participate in the ceremony. Most had joined them based on the fact that there would be free food in the form of a buffet.
For once, even Anna was finding things she could eat without any issues. Buffets were useful like that, at least in her opinion. Biting into some fried chicken she enjoyed the crunch, and heard a similar crunch to her side. Turning her head, she looked at Rodrigues with a raised eyebrow. He was chewing a piece of fried chicken, looking utterly miserable.
“What are you doing?” Anna asked. “You hate fried chicken.”
“Yeah, but you are eating it”, Rodrigues replied.
“So? I spotted some smoked salmon, and I know that you love smoked salmon. Why not eat that instead?”
“You don’t”, Jenna piped up.
She paused with her fork half-raised, looking around the table. Realising all of them had mimicked her, having the exact same food on her table. Feeling weird, Anna wondered if they were playing some kind of prank on her.
“There are a lot of things I don’t eat", she said. “Doesn’t mean you should mimic me. I don’t even eat sushi!”
The men and women around the table shared looks, leaning towards one another to talk softly.
“Should we stop eat sushi?” Adesina asked Wong.
“If she doesn’t eat it, there most be something wrong with it...” Wong replied. “I wouldn’t eat it.”
“Is it only the fish or is it all types of sushi?” Schultz pondered.
“All types, obviously!” Moreau shot back. Only for Schultz to nod thoughtfully.
Anna heard similar conversations around the table. Apparently, they were not pranking her, but their behaviour was bizarre. Not that long ago, several of them had made fun of her eating habits. So why were they suddenly eating like her? And sure, she was a picky eater, that was nothing new. In some ways, she held up better than others, but her limits were quite rigid at this point in her life. These guys? They would down even the most bizarre foods, no matter how alien the origin.
That’s when the credit dropped. All of them had gotten food poisoning from eating that foul alien fruit during the only planet side exploration expedition she had joined. The one she herself had spit out without swallowing. Apparently, it had traumatized then to the point where they refused to eat something she refused. Only...
“You guys realise that not all the things I don’t like is bad, right?” she said. “It is a pretty long list, if I’m being honest, and plenty of people eat stuff I won’t, everyday without issue. And that forcing yourself to eat something you don’t like is the exact opposite of what I’m doing.”
“Yeah, but you are like, a superhuman when it comes to taste", Jackson piped up. “So better safe than sorry.”
“I’m not superhuman! Sure, my senses are hyperactive and more sensitive, but that’s not always a good thing!” Anna protested. Yet to her frustration, the others became more convinced the more she tried to refute it. She could be stubborn, sure, but this was on a whole other level. Sure, the stupid fruit had caused food poisoning, but what if it hadn’t? Then she would have been the one looking like an idiot. There were so many foods she couldn’t make herself eat, some of which she hadn’t been able to make herself even try based on smell or how they looked. Some things she would never be able to make herself eat, even if she starved. Which is why it made no sense for trained military personnel to refuse to eat things because she wouldn’t, and force themselves to eat things she did.
Sighing, Anna decided it was no point in arguing. She wasn’t going to be able to convince them, and if it meant they stopped giving her grief over her eating habits she didn’t want to care. Let them deal with it themselves. But if they tried to take her cereal bars, she would start to throw hands!
__________________________________
Captain Jonathan Vance looked at the men and women around his table. They were unusually careful with their food. He himself had piled food on his plate, being the type who didn’t hate any food, and normally the others would be similar. You had to have something of an iron stomach to become an officer within the IRSC, after all. He turned to his husband and Vice Captain sitting next to him.
“Do you know what this is about?” he asked Mark.
“Kinda", his husband replied and leaned in closer, lowering his voice. “You know the guy who took over during our anniversary?”
“Yeah, Lincoln or whatever. The one who got into hot water for breaking protocol.”
“Him. Apparently, he took Anna with him on a exploration expedition.”
“...that was stupid of him... wait... he got into trouble for not bringing any food supplies, forcing the team to scavenge, which ended with food poisoning... if he brought Anna...”
“She naturally refused to eat something she wasn’t familiar with, though I heard she tried to eat it, but said it tasted foul. Long story short, those who listened to Anna escaped food poisoning. So, now everyone is nervous about eating food she won’t eat.”
“So, basically they are idiots?”
Mark paused and then nodded in amusement. “Pretty much. They will get over it.”
“I sure hope so, humans can be rather stubborn.”
“Speaking from experience?”
“Very funny.”
“You know you love me.”
They chuckled and returned to their food. Around the table, his officers exchanged glances and laughed nervously. Having heard the conversation. One or two rose to go fetch more food. Jonathan shoved some cornbread into his mouth. He really hoped this notion wouldn’t stay for too long, but the problem with sticky ideas, is that they had a tendency to stick around.
Pun intended.

Hi its K! this is for everyone:
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Alcina Dimitrescu: In my jazz days I spent much of my time in Paris. I would definitely love to return there. I miss those bright lights. I remember it like it all was yesterday. I met Ernest Hemingway there when he was writing The Sun Also Rises. I was a primary inspiration for Lady Brett Ashley, although he had to hide my lesbianism due to the tastes of the time, *said with hatred* manthings, complete monsters, I couldn't kill them then, a shame. I was an icon there, a fashion and music symbol among all, a sex symbol among the Sapphic audience. I still am both, but in those days I was on the covers of magazines, I kept copies of all of the issues I was in, they're in my desk. I played the best venues with The Pallboys. What a city... the Pallboys, they, they must all be dead by now, *legitimately sorrowful* I'll truly miss them, the only truly good manthings I've ever met and ever will meet...
Moreau: *Gives an upward forlorn stare, knowing that he can't leave due to his appearance* A c-cleaner lake, c-ontry dun't madder.
Karl Heisenberg: Just anywhere but here.*sighs, smokes his cigar. After a few seconds he is reinvigorated speaking with hope and a naive curiosity. Emotions almost nonexistent in the metal lord* But once I'm free, 'not somewhere. I'm gonna go everywhere. That wicked fucking bitch stole a world from me. *a little sad, pours some whiskey he sips as he talks* I know when I'm out, I'm gonna be on the road, every city, every country, 'see all there is to see, everything I didn't get to. *Slips away into contemplation, he falls asleep after a few more drinks, hat over face*
Donna Beneviento: I d-don't want go... I'm scared to... home is all I've had, but if I had to... *prepares to talk about her for a while, shudders as she says the name* Claudia always wanted to see the *she starts scrying softly in between words* Mediterranean, she thought the water would be so pretty. She, she could've been right.
(I didn't write for the daughters Dimitrescu here, but I think they'd probably want to follow their mom after hearing all her stories)

As soon as they arrived at the venue their eyes were subconsciously searching for her. When they realised they were looking for her, they told themself they were doing so because they needed to know where she and her next betrayal were coming from. You know what they say, keep your enemies close and all that.

There she was! Standing next to the suspicious new dean. For a second they forgot how to breathe. How could someone be soooo beautiful? That dress had been made for her and only her. Red was suddenly their new favourite colour. They wondered what that dress would look like on their room floor.
They shook their head as if to shake away their thoughts. They quickly moved on to thinking about how she was probably wearing red so she could hide evidence of bloodstains when she inevitably did something nefarious to some poor schmuck at this pretentious gathering.
They were half listening to their father go on and on about things that did not matter. Half their mind was occupied with following Marie across the room as she and her fake self hobnobbed with the obnoxious donors. She looked like she was having fun. Of course, snakes enjoyed their undeserved attention and fame.
As the night was getting late, and they were having a much needed convo with Cate, they saw her heading towards the exit. Panic set in. They needed to stop her before she left. They quickly assured themself that they were stopping her because she could not leave in peace. She deserved some snarky comments before she left.
"Hey, Moreau. " "I'm not in the mood... Okay. " They smirked because it was working. They were successfully getting under her skin! So..., this is what winning felt like.....

The Skin I Live In
Add this film to Almodovar’s series of films that twist viewers’ sympathies and desire to find romance in unlikely places against them by focusing on characters who do morally reprehensible things. (See also Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! and Talk to Her.) Almodovar has called it “a horror film without screams or frights,” and he seems to be playing with elements from the New French Extremity (the body’s vulnerability and mutability) and from South Korean Revenge Cinema (the lengths to which Antonio Banderas’s Robert went for revenge). The question is what parts of the film are intended to horrify us.
On the first level, I think we’re meant to be horrified by the fear of castration played out by what Robert does to transform Vicente into Vera. Almodovar interprets power as the ability to force your will onto another, and he places that power primarily in the male realm. Vicente is able to force himself onto Robert’s daughter, Norma. Marilia’s estranged son, Zeca, is able to beat up and tie up Marilia even though Marilia brandished the usually phallic pistol. Zeca is then able to force his way into Vera’s bedroom, carry her around despite her protestations, and sexually assault her. Robert holds the power of life and death in his hands; when Vicente attempts suicide in the film, Robert repairs the injuries and revives Vicente so he can continue his vengeful experiment.
On the second level, I think we’re meant to be horrified by Robert’s drive for revenge. Banderas is frequently framed by the camera and lighting as the villain. In particular, the way Almodovar shoots the scenes where Robert drives Vicente off the road and the way Robert emerges from the shadows in Vicente’s cell recall how killers are lit and shot in horror and thriller films. Furthermore, it is clear that Robert uses Norma’s suicide as justification for the violation he commits against Vicente, but he is also pursuing revenge against Zeca and Gal for cuckolding him but remaking Vicente in Gal’s image. Are Robert and Marilia aware that he is driven by this, given how many times Marilia asks Robert why Vera resembles Gal?
On the last level, the viewer is meant to see Robert as a mad scientist akin to Doctor Moreau. Robert breaks scientific ethics by performing transgenic experiments, splicing porcine genetic material with human to create his artificial skin. Robert’s colleagues are more horrified by his experiments than by his treatment of Vicente.
Almodovar implicates the viewer in gazing at Vera in captivity. We first see Vera as Robert does, through a camera in Vera’s room, and her body, usually covered in a beige skin suit, appears to be nude. Almodovar then contrasts Vera with images of Venus by Titian and Guillermo Pérez Villalta.
To Almodovar’s credit, a forced gender reassignment leaves the viewer in a unique position to understand the gender dysphoria that trans people experience, and its placement as a second act revelation instead of a closing shock makes it clear that this is Robert’s punishment for Vicente, not an explanation of why Vicente kills Robert and Marilia the way that it’s used in Sleepaway Camp or Psycho.
