Keshek el Fouqara / Lebanese Bulgur "Cheese" (Vegan)
Keshek el Fouqara (literally “poor man’s cheese”) is an ancient Lebanese bulgur cheese developed by farmers who were too poor to afford a goat to make dairy products. Instead, they soaked and fermented bulgur until it developed cheese-like flavours. A popular recipe until around 50 years ago, it has gotten lost over the last decades.

"*the* bad vegan cheese" just say daiya lol. I ask people what brand they didn't like and it's usually daiya, I recommend violife instead! I don't know why it's different, but I've had vegan cheeses before that tasted like straight up vomit so when someone tells me the one they tried was gross, I usually believe them. They're usually excited to hear that they should try another brand.

I didn't write "Daiya" because that brand doesn't exist in my country :) Excuse my snark, but I do not live in the US or UK, even though my posts are in English.
I've also had many awful brands of vegan cheese, but I've also had a few I love. Violife is my favourite for pizza!
Unfortunately in my experience, many people think that if they've tried one vegan cheese, they've tried them all, although I do always give them more recommendations in the hopes that they might find one they like!
Anyway, I'm glad that you have found brands you like! :)

Wow?????? This is the first time I've had a vegan cheese so realistic that I'd be nervous to serve it to a vegan! If the package didn't say so in...... 6 different places, I'm not sure I'd believe it was vegan at all. And, look—it even melts!

I wanted to be sure that it wasn't just a matter of low expectations, so instead of posting right away, I waited a few days and did another taste test and guess what? I really, really do think this stuff is great!
The funny things are: (1) it smells very smoked, but hardly tastes smoked at all; and (2) the texture is slightly off (somewhere between a hard cheese and a processed cheese). Also, I keep taking tiny portions as if it were a dairy cheese. But as long as it doesn't give me a phantom stomachache, I have no complaints.
