strahdtober day 3: necromance

pour one out for this piece which i… cleared the lineart for while working on the surgical tools and then did too many actions before realizing my mistake to go back to a state with the lineart :,( ill probably start re-utilizing the “transfer to layer below after finishing a portion of lineart” workflow i used on the ilya comic after this colossal fuckup lol

the piece would have been fully finished after i finished lining the surgical tools and threw on some texture. but i dont want to not post it… enjoy vasilka (with the sketch on instead of the gorgeous lineart)

Even thou I rarely post about our games, I'm in NEED to tell, that we had the wedding and boss fight in two games. AND my PC Marik made the costumes for everyone %)

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD

Our Ireena was kept safe in Krezk church (but before that she was heavily injured and now her legs.... are spider legs... interesting a confluence of circumstances led to this by our actions...) and the Abbot let us know about his meaty bride-golems... Anyway, so, Vasilka took the main-bride place. Hooray, I guess??? Strahd notified, that our circus team satisfied him by bringing a lady to the castle and he can start the ceremony. Then we kinda blew up his heart, and part of Ravenloft......... accidently killed 3/4 consorts by casting Tsunami....... WHAT A NIGHT AND WE WERE IN BEST SUITS EVER HUH

So funny story. My DM had the idea of using tarot cards to figure out how each character's story arc was going to go for Curse of Strahd. They asked to pull for Quinn a few times before getting together for an official read with the rest of the party. He got the Three of Swords. Every. Single. Time. And boy have things been living up to it.

Today we're thinking about how they were both created with intention and directed toward a specific purpose. How neither of them were created with free will in mind, and yet are being made to exercise it. Neither are human, but they're interacted with as if they are. I could go on.
