Considering the Ellerian family had a small piece of land in Westfall and was not an important noble family, not even having a seat in Stormwind’s House of Nobles before Tiffin was wed to Varian, I… don’t know what the Wrynns got from the match, although I assume it had to be beneficial for both sides since it was arranged when Tiffin was born. Since it is said they owned a small part of Westfall, I assume it was more about what was in said small piece of land and their political influence in the region, considering back then Westfall was still thriving and said to be Stormwind’s ‘breadbasket’ and to have ‘abundant mines’. 

For the Ellerians, the benefit was obviously to become part of the House of Nobles and ensure a place as part of the most powerful bloodlines in the realm. I think that is telling enough they most certainly were ambitious, even if that is less true of Tiffin herself. 

All of that considered, plus the fact devs said “Tiffin helped Varian control his occasional anger issues and taught him economics, while Varian helped teach Tiffin about politics and social etiquette.” my headcanon is that her family was rather recent nobility, ascended to it through wealth.

She was the youngest child and only daughter, having three older brothers.

One of them was probably the one to assume their family’s seat in the House of Nobles.

None of them are still alive probably.

A big part of why she hated Varian at first was that she was sentenced to marrying him even before she had any sense of self so. That was not fun. She hated the match itself, for being something she was forced into, more than she hated him. But she also hated him.

They probably argued A LOT early on when they met, and lots of people were like ??? where did that come from she’s so sweet and pretty

Anyone who knew her well/was close to her also knew that while she was sweet, yes, she was also very willful

And feisty. She is good and kind but she would absolutely not take shit from anyone. 

10/10 would argue with people she shouldn’t, because if it is the right thing to do she will do it regardless of consequence and not caring to appease people that are clearly wrong/acting in a way that would be harmful to others. She really wouldn’t stand for injustice.

…yeah she’d definitely need help with learning to navigate politics.

Tiffin genuinely cared for the people, and did try to defend their interests whenever it was possible. She was very popular with them; not so much with the House of Nobles.

        the beginning of a new tragedy... or farce.         the victim of a golden curse lies in the dwelling of a user of false alchemy.         a man from afar falls to a golden curse, and a woman from afar cries in grief.         the woman is captured, her dark trial begins, the fiery pit will cleanse all her sins.

     they all say there is no changing fate, but luke - no, not just him, but he and the professor, they’re doing everything in their power to do just that, and they won’t take no for an answer. one clue in the letter they find and the professor, brilliant as ever, thinks of a shining idea to get to the alchemist’s house in time. soon enough, they’re both on separate horses ( and gosh, he’s never made such a nervous promise to return them home after in his life ), and they dash to the location they desperately need -- an unstoppable plan that luke follows just as well as normal.

     ...that’s what he’d like to say was wholly true, anyways. sure, he arrives somewhere, which is completely better than nowhere. as he secures the horse, though, he realizes that it all seems so unfamiliar: the houses, the construction, especially what looks like some dark... haunting ... utterly surrounded castle.. and, god, when did he lose the professor? how could he have been so caught up in the ride that they’d gotten split, and how could he never even hear a cry out to him or otherwise? what if he’d taken a wrong turn, and he’d gotten lost, and --

     ( oh, snap out of it, luke ! didn’t you face a castle with [..sure, fake] vampires in it for three times as long as this? you’ll be fine ! miss maya and mister wright’s lives are in danger, and a gentleman can’t just leave lives in harm’s way, ever ! so just get a grip and-- )

     and just as his thoughts tell him to, he runs up the front steps and knocks, yells as loud as he can. “ Hey, isn’t someone in here?! Anyone? Isn’t -- is this even close to the alchemist’s house? My friends -- one of them’s going to be cursed and I don’t know if I took a wrong turn somewhere but they’re both in danger and I just - ” all his knocking ceases - stress, exhaustion, the door opening, something that he can’t tell in that moment - his voice shakes, and for that moment, he’s silent.

     if all fails, anyways, then maybe he can just leave and search for the path back himself. or wake up. or realize this is a dream. or just anything else.
