Bruce head canons because my online persona is.. Well, Bruce Yamada..
‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
• He calls everyone by their last names.
- Bruce for some reason, refers to everyone by their last name, no matter what.
- He only says Finney's and Vance's first names.
- With this, he knows everyone's last names somehow and no one knows how he did it.
- Though if you call him by his last name, he'll ignore you.
• He holds grudges.
- Sure, Bruce is an extremely nice person and it's hard to upset him, but when someone does. He holds his grudge.
- "Hey what happened with ?????" "They upset me." And he hasn't talked to that person for two months.
- He has grudges against his friend group, but feels too bad to ignore them so he's passive aggressive to them.
• He clueless.
- Omg, he's so clueless. Half the drama in the school, he knows nothing until the last moment of it.
- If a pen is flying towards him, he's not noticing it, or he is and is just not able to do something about it.
- He uses all his attention in baseball, so out of it. He's just not there.
• He hates movies and listening to music.
- Bruce much rather just sit down in the silence and read a good book, or help his sister study or when study himself.
- He keeps himself busy too, so he doesn't have to resort to watching things or listening to music.
• He's always busy or out.
- He makes sure his schedule is filled 24/7.
- Bruce is always outside or if he's inside he's doing things, cleaning, studying, helping his mother, helping Amy, hanging out with his friends. Whatever it is he's doing it.
• When he's in love, he's in love.
- Vance was definitely the first person he had fallen for. So, when he fell. He fell hard.
• He's definitely demi-romantic.
- As the years passed, he watched all his friends get crushes, he didn't understand why but he never did. Then, Vance happened.
• He's a sarcastic bitch.
• He doesn't think about peoples feelings until after he's said something.
- Bruce is nice, he's definitely the nicest person in the school. Though, sometimes he gets a little too sassy and says something without thinking, which leads to hurting someone's feelings.
- "Are you stupid?" Then he realizes what he said. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me."
• He pretends not to know Finney when they play against each other.
- He's extremely competitive, so. He'll pretend not to know Finney while playing so he feels less bad for playing so aggressively.
• He rubs off on people.
- Bruce has somehow turned two people into sarcastic sassy bitches. He didn't mean to, and he's not even as sarcastic as them.

Robin/Vance: ¡Estaba defendiendo tu honor Bruce/Finn!
____________________________________
Finney: I've gotten to a point where I'm not even surprised by this.
Bruce: *at his side nodding while he sighs tiredly*.
Finney/Bruce: *They see Vance and Robin bruised with broken knuckles and blood on their clothes*.
Robin/Vance:* Head down trying to avoid the dismal looks of their respective boyfriends*.
Bruce: I know I'll regret asking but why?
Vance/Robin: *speaking at the same time*
Vance: That idiot said you were pathetic for baseball!
Robin: They were making fun of your latest Finn-scale rocket!
Robin/Vance: I was defending your honor Bruce/Finn!

☆ currency exchange
Almost every kid in Denver knew that you could bribe Vance to do whatever you wanted, as long as you paid him in quarters. Most people saved up money to pay Vance to beat up other kids, but more often then not some favours were different.
Bruce Yamada has had a crush on Vance since sixth grade, when Vance asked to borrow a pencil. At that time he had only been held back once, and was a year older then Bruce. Vance had grinned at Bruce, and from that moment on Bruce had fallen head over heels for Vance.
The raven-haired boy would hang around the Grab'n'Go, watching Vance secretly play pinball.
The idea to ask Vance out on a date came from another girl who also had a crush on Vance. She brought Vance at least $5 in quarters, and asked him to go on a date with her. Fortunately, Vance said no. He asked her to return with more money next time, at least $15 in quarters if she actually wanted Vance to go on a date with her.
Bruce had saved up for months, doing spare jobs such as mowing the lawn or washing dishes for extra cash. He kept every quarter he owned locked away in a piggy bank underneath his bed. Eventually, it seemed like Bruce had enough quarters to successfully bribe Vance to go on a date with him.
Bruce mentally prepared himself for days, trying to think of the perfect way to ask out his long time crush. On the day Bruce had finally gained enough courage to ask Vance out, he grabbed his sackful of quarters and walked down to the Grab'n'Go. Bruce's heart was beating fast, terrified of what could possibly happen. It was the 70's, and people weren't so forward thinking. What if Vance said no? What if he made fun of me? What if he beat me up? What if... Bruce was interrupted from his thoughts as he reached the door of the Grab'n'Go, taking a deep breath before entering the shop.
Bruce spotted the curly haired blonde immediately, as the loud noises of the pinball machine attracted Bruce's attention. Fortunately the shop was mainly empty, which allowed Bruce to feel a little braver in asking out his long time crush.
Hesitantly, Bruce tapped Vance on the shoulder.
"I have some um... some quarters for you to do something for me. If that's okay?" Bruce stated, fiddling with his hands behind his back.
Vance turned around from his game, and grinned at the idea that Bruce Yamada, Denver's golden boy, was asking him for a favour?
"Sure" Vance muttered, trying to mask his excitement with pretend annoyance.
"I have at least $20 in quarters. Would you go on a date with me?" Bruce blurted out, his face flushing in embarassment.
Vance stood there in shock, his brain trying to process what Bruce just said. Bruce Yamada just asked him, Vance Hopper, on a date?
"Oh. Um, sure." Vance commented, hiding the excitement that he was feeling inside. Vance has had a crush on Bruce since the beginning of sixth grade, from the second Bruce introduced himself to the class. The first time Vance ever actually spoke to Bruce was near the end of sixth grade, when Bruce lent him a pencil in third period.
Bruce grinned, showing off his perfect teeth.
"I'll pick you up on Friday at seven?" He asked Vance, still grinning.
Vance nodded, now blushing a deep shade of red.
Bruce walked out the store happily, a new spring in his step. He was going on a date with Vance Hopper!

Vance and Finney learned Morse code to communicate with each other.
Vance did it so he could curse and babble about his crush on Bruce Yamada to Finney
(although he vehemently maintains that he only learned so he could discuss future attack plans against the Grabber without anyone noticing).
Young Blake learned so he could curse Hopper without anyone noticing.

☆ will I ever see you again?
Bruce was riding his bike home from his baseball match, which his lost 7:14. Bruce knew he had been distracted from his game recently, since his boyfriend went missing around a week ago. Vance was supposed to meet Bruce in the park after school, but never showed up for their date.
As the Grab 'n' Go came into view, Bruce slowed down to a halt and left his bike outside the store.
The raven-haired boy walked inside, trying to ignore the pinball machine that his boyfriend was glued to 24/7. Bruce takes a quick look at the high score, smiling softly as he sees that Vance's high score is still the top.
He walks to the cold drinks isle, picking out a diet coke and paying for it at the counter. Bruce unscrews the lid, taking a sip. The fizzy metallic taste fills his mouth, and Bruce gulps the soda down eagerly. He was parched, since he forgot to bring water to his baseball game. Vance always used to bring Bruce a cup of water, since he knew Bruce always forgot to.
Bruce finished off the can, dumping it in the trash can outside the store entrance. Plastered on the windows of the Grab 'n' Go, was a bunch of 'missing' posters of kids who had gone missing recently. The first poster Bruce saw was Griffin Stagg's, a kid in the 6th grade who went missing over six months ago. The second poster Bruce saw was Billy Showalter's, who was in the 9th grade. Billy delivered papers to the Yamada household daily, until his disappearance four months ago. The last poster, the newest one on the window, was Vance Hopper's. Bruce stared at the picture of Vance on the poster, and read the information below. Vance Hopper, 173 cm, age 15, last seen 16th July.
Bruce felt his heart tearing in two. He had tried to ignore the fact that Vance was missing, but this poster just proved the fact that Vance was missing. Like the other two boys, he might never come back. Bruce might never see Vance in his math class again. He might never see Vance playing pinball inside the very same store that his missing poster was hung up on. He might never meet Vance in the park after school again. He might never see Vance again.
Bruce breathed in sharply, jumping on his bike and cycling away as fast as he could, blinking away the tears in his dark brown eyes. He sped through the neighborhood, enjoying the wind rushing through his hair. After half an hour spent riding around his whole neighbourhood, Bruce eventually slowed down and parked his bike in his garage.
Bruce unlocked the front door, slamming it behind him and locking the door. He walked up to his room, gently shutting his bedroom door and sinking down onto the floor, allowing a few tears to escape.
Bruce wiped his eyes, trying to control his shaky breaths. I will see Vance again, right? Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe Vance just left Denver for a while? Vance was okay. Vance was going to be okay. Bruce reassures himself, his breathing slowing down to a normal rate.
Vance was going to be okay, right?
