Okay… so insert your chosen favourite vampire… but, hear me out….

Imagine you fell in love a long time ago. Whoever was a vampire first turned the other because you are just so in love with each other. However as the years go on, you still love each other but gods are you fed up of being stuck together because eternity really means eternity and now you have become the oldest most grumpiest married couple there ever was. You love each other but you bicker like crazy because after all these years you just know each other too well and everything is predictable. Suddenly that idea of eternity together is looking worse and worse. So how do you spice things up? Oh I don’t know, maybe by seeing other people. Maybe sabotaging each others lives. Maybe even trying to kill each other even though you are both well matched ability wise and it’s a real challenge.

However one day it goes a bit too far. One of you actually does almost die and the regret and realisation of how close you actually came to parting reminds you how much you do love each other and don’t actually want to part with one another, so you agree to a truce and have a few blissful years together again like the good old days. Every 60-100 years or so the cycle repeats.

OKAY, POST ABOUT THE VAMPIRE POLYCULE SO WE CAN TRADE POLYCULE LORE @whiteredrose13

I don't have completed designs of these characters because I keep changing the story location, BUT here are the most recent and weirdly faceless concept sketches

Here is a polycule map I made like a year ago to keep everyone's relationships on track (Eunice is Kartik's 89-year-old human gf btw) (this map is subject to change)

Xiuying Chen (she/her) immigrated to the US in the 1950s at age 20 and encountered Adam Turner and was persuaded into turning into a vampire. When Melody Turner found out and killed Adam, Melody and Xiuying actually lived together for a while. Their relationship scared Melody (because it was REAL), so the two separated in the 1960s.

Eddie Chen (he/him) was sired by his boyfriend Sam Richards in the early 1970s at age 24, but Sam was killed by hunters not long after. Vampires aren't exactly many in number, so he was very desparate to find others out there. He encountered Xiuying in the late 70s, and in the 80s, they got married <33

Eden Barlow (she/her) was sired by Ellis Turner (Adam Turner's "brother") in the 1990s at the age of 36. Ellis was not unlike Adam and was a serial adulterer, as well as Just Not Great to his wife, so Eden left him. She was less concerned about being alone, but once she encountered Kartik in the 2000s, discovered that she missed having company that understood her immortality.

Kartik Korrapati (he/him) was sired by his mother, Khivi, also in the 1990s at the age of 41. Khivi was sired by her boyfriend, Akalsimar, in her 30s after they ran away together. She returned after having regrets about abandoning Kartik and after not being able to conceive more children, and she asked Kartik to join her in eternal life. Eden and Kartik encountered Xiuying at a vampire fight club not too long after meeting.

Darcy Collins (she/they) was ALSO sired by Ellis Turner in the early 2000s at the age of 30, and she ALSO left Ellis for restricting her freedoms while persuing his own. Darcy is very social, and she encountered Xiuying and Eddie at a night club in the late 2000s.

Spencer Lee (she/they) is Xiuying's one and only fledgling and was sired in modern times at the age of 42. Spencer had been dating Xiuying and Eddie since the mid 2010s but was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. It was Spencer's decision to become a vampire.

One general headcanon I have for most/all vampire characters or characters with vampiric traits that I like it's that they have ticklish ears and necks and like ear/chin scritches

In this post I am going to be looking at vampires as an archetype through the lens of queer theory. I'm going to use queer time, gender stereotypical non-conformity, and symbolism.

My favourite underrated thing about Louis de Point du Lac is that he truly is the least curious vampire to ever be made and he does not give fuck about vampires despite being one.

Its Claudia who goes to libraries, reads the folklore, tries to learn as much as she can and pushes Lestat for answers about who made him and where the others are. Claudia says Vampire Pride and Louis says hmmm Vampire Tolerance.

And Louis...truly does not care about vampire history,law, culture. He's never even thought to ask. There are vampire laws?...ok...Lestat never cared about them and he's not going to either, lol. He's broken a few and he will continue to do so. Oh you have a coven? he's not gonna join it, he's gonna do his own thing. but good for you good for you.

I love him. Daniel Molloy is gonna need to bring his A game because Louis will not be solving a single mystery next season, nor would it even occur to him to try.
