so i have this au called "the mage's heir" where davy never gives simon up after lucy's death and, instead, makes the decision to raise him alone. and kinda does okay! davy is still all *snazzy piano riff* and shit, but in this verse, taking care of simon when he's small forces him to step away from his work and chill the fuck out a bit. at least for a little while. (simon winds up growing up into a signficiantly more arrogant and morally grey version of himself tho.)

not to be sus of Rashid, again, but this is interesting. the color of trays. the difference of clothing. no mask. he must be a senior class servant (but that does not explain the mask), unless ...

RR does not wear a mask (even tho the gloves are still on). and look how fancy his jacket is

i've checked s1 (watch ep2), and everyone from the staff wore same left uniform + and masks. Rashid once again stands out (why is he always near Marius' painting😭)

The framed art on the wall in this scene is Louis Icart's Salome (1928).

Salome is known for her role in the death of John the Baptist, where she requested, upon being able to satisfy Herod with her dance, to be presented with his head. She was a popular depiction in the earlier half of the 20th century, and late 19th century, being seen as representation of the ultimate femme fatale - a character archetype of a woman out to achieve some aim and who, through her desirability, leads men to their doom.

There are arguably 3 femme fatales in this room.
