#vamp giles au

I understand what you're saying and you're probably right that a resurrected Jenny plot having a happy ending would be way too optimistic to hope for in the Buffyverse (that being said, opinion seems to vary depending on who you ask) and I definitely agree that it's not something Giles would ever attempt himself, I just hope I don't come off as too silly for bringing the topic up. I agree that a vamp Jenny plot could be a lot of fun though, how could that potentially play out?
You definitely don't come off as silly! Maybe there's some writing out there that will make me see the light, or perhaps you have something up your sleeve yourself! Just because I think it may not align with what we've seen in the show, it doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Fanfiction is a great means to explore what we would never otherwise see in the media we love, we can go 'silly' with it and no idea is inherently bad! For me personally, I'll give anything a chance if the internal mechanics make sense, so what if they contradict the source a bit.
Case in point, a few weeks ago I did actually write up the outline of a vamp Jenny AU wherein she's brought across from the Wishverse during the events of Doppelgandland. It deviates quite a bit from what we've seen and is a bit out of left field, but hey, any means to shove Jenny back into the narrative! If you approached it a bit more dramatically, Angel could turn her as opposed to killing her and use her to torment the scoobies. Maybe she could serve as an antagonistic force henceforth, culminating in her getting captured and chipped by the Initiative. Or perhaps the gang can try to ensoul her and we come full circle with the Kalderash curse.
#also i said it in the linked post and i'll say it many more times but giles allowing vamp jenny to feed off him in a moment of great need?#yes please (and vice versa love vamp giles as well#jenny becomes the reluctant mentor as they lose him)#the material is endless#asks#i'm very sorry if i came across as dismissive in the previous ask! i'm enjoying our buffy au talk :)

making an important announcement about some things i’ve noticed in the gwendoline christie fandom that really bug me.
disclaimer: read this at your own convenience and discretion. i am not responsible for any sort of hurt feelings and frankly… i don’t care. if you’re mad about this, you are probably the problem. /lh
to start with id like to begin on a positive note so that i’m not diving into negativity, i don’t want to be completely negative about my experiences because i’ve actually met some of the kindest people in the world through this fan base.
the gwen fandom, the gwandom, the gwendoline christie fandom , the lesbian cesspool, has been an incredible experience that i’m grateful i’ve had the pleasure of being apart of.
i went through a rough patch during november, and if i hadn’t found out about gwen, or met such wonderful people during my time here , i honestly wouldn’t be here right now. i owe my life to these people, gwen included. i will forever adore miss christie and what she stands for alongside the friends i’ve made along the way.
and while i know someday this hyperfix will end, it’s really disheartening to me when a fandom is what makes me grow distant from things i enjoy. it happened before, i feel as though it is happening all over again.
and no, i’m not taking issue with anything like the catrissa stuff or the brienne and larissa ship going around or anything like that. i like that we can all be weird together and enjoy aus like catrissa and crackships like bririssa (not sure the official name that was decided lol). my issue is the amount of content i’ve seen that either focuses on gwen herself, or the strange relationship with minors, or the odd artwork of gwen, and the absolute disgusting behaviour towards giles.
gwen would be absolutely appalled seeing fanfictions of herself that involve nsfw or just her in general, anyone would, it’s disgusting to make works of real people in that setting. it’s like you’re treating them as an original character you can mould and manipulate as you see fit and using someone who is real with thought and feeling and consciousness for smut fics is not okay, or any fic in general. i totally get the hype around her characters, i literally have “brienne’s princess” in my bio and i’ve had “jane murdstone’s bloodbag” (in reference to my vamp au) as a name in a discord server.
but i think the fandom has begun to blur the lines between fictional characters and reality settings when it comes to gwen and the personalities she portrays on the television screen. it’s not fair to her. it’s disgusting. i’ve seen a minor do it, i’ve seen a grown adult do it. it’s something i don’t see shamed and frowned upon often enough and it’s really not okay.
on that note i’d like to quickly mention the photos, we alllll know what photos i’m talking about. the bunny one, the nudes, the ones gwen has expressed regret towards and wishes to not have them spread. was there not a “fan” who brought her a book of her nudes and wanted her to sign it? that person who was blocked on instagram by gwen because they reposted her nudes on their story and tagged her???? how can you refer to yourself as a fan after behaving so abhorrently? absolutely disgusting behaviour. as a collective fandom we need to stop touching those photos (metaphorically speaking) and leave them in the past.
i’ve been told of numerous circumstances in which adults have shown their nsfw works to minors in this fandom and it has to fucking stop. it’s disgusting!! how can you do that knowingly? i constantly ponder terminating my account after a minor got ahold of my nsfw work, and upon realising they WERE a minor it was as simple as blocking and moving on. it’s truly not that hard, folks. and the minors on tiktok who fight with others saying silly things like “that’s my wife” or worse. i’ve seen it all, i feel like, and the more i see it the more sick i become. i cannot stand it.
i have seen and heard of fans who have fat shamed gwen for that one pink dress she wore to the met gala. she looked so happy in that dress, and the audacity one must have to fatshame that poor woman on twitter then turn around and continue to proclaim your ‘love for her’ as if you’d done no wrong? are you fucking serious? are you mental?
and the sexualisation over the porcelain doll look, gods some of you are sick. those were not real breasts, people. considering the fact she wholeheartedly regrets her nude photoshoots , what possesses you to believe she would actually flaunt her chest in that outfit?
the blatant mistreatment of poor giles is not fucking okay either. just because you’re jealous of someone who makes her immensely happy does not give you the right to post something so vile and cruel about him. shame on you. why do you believe this is okay to post:
????????
are you serious? have any of you stopped to consider how HAPPY giles makes her? or is her happiness the last thing you ponder when you look at her? have you even noticed how unhappy she looks lately? have you truly paused to consider how she would feel about seeing this on your page, random twitter user, or the rest of you who think this is okay? bless your hearts.
and some of the absolutely horrific things i’ve seen about her online and the hurtful behaviour towards giles makes me question the difference between a fan and just the general paparazzi. because if you truly loved her and you truly loved giles then i would not be ranting into the fucking void about it for no reason.
i avoid interacting with pages i find problematic on here to keep from stirring the pot but tonight i chose violence and got reeeeeal pissy about how i felt about this place. it’s not okay what i see on here and it’s getting exhausting seeing the same cycle of content on a daily.
that’s everything i have to say, i think. i probably missed a lot that should be discussed in the comments but i’m done for now because i know if i go on i’ll probably cry.
before you post things about real people with real feelings , stop to consider how they will feel those real feelings towards the content you put out. chances are you’ll become less problematic and obnoxious that way. 💘
#gwendoline christie#gwendolineuniverse#sigh#announcement#i’m upset#this fandom is insane#some of you need help#seriously#like its not even funny#you guys are weird#please repost this everywhere#this is not okay#i’m really tired of seeing these things#and i understand i can block and move on but i feel as though it was important enough to be said#fandom#tumblr fandom#and specifically#the tumblr and tiktok fandom#instagram is becoming just as bad#and twitter has always been atrocious

how about an AU where cordelia stayed in sunnydale?
Oh, that's interesting.
I think that, in reality, if Cordelia hadn't left for Angel, she'd probably have ended up occupying a pretty similar place in the rest of Buffy to the role Anya ends up taking. Maybe not exactly the same one (I don't know if the writers would have had her and Xander get back together, for example, and obviously Cordelia isn't a former vengeance demon), but close enough that I'm not even sure that they'd have made Anya a permanenent member of the cast.
But, ignoring that, and taking Anya's ongoing presence in Sunnydale as given...
I think something has to happen to make Cordelia stay in Sunnydale, right? It's clear from Season 3 that she doesn't want to (see, for example, her reaction to finding out that Buffy got into Northwestern: "great! now you can leave and never come back! [I mean] get out of Sunnydale: that's a good thing"). I guess maybe the lazy option is just to have her trying to save up money to get into drama school somewhere? We already see her working at April Fools in Season 3, maybe she can keep doing that. Or maybe -- remembering Cordelia's role as Buffy's shadow -- her parents split up because of her father's tax issues and she ends up feeling she has to stay in town to help look after her mom? Or maybe put those two ideas together: Buffy's surprised to see that Cordelia's still in town, Cordelia tries as nonchalantly as possible to pretend she's still around for her own reasons and then we learn that she's putting her own ambitions on hold because she has to help her mom look for a new place to stay. And maybe that gives us a chance to explore some of the class issue stuff that Buffy as a show always skirts around but never really touches (how does Cordelia feel about now being in a position more like Xander than Buffy or Willow?).
I've complained about this before (more than once), but I think Cordelia being in Sunnydale is a great excuse to change how the gang react to finding out that Harmony is a vampire. I mean, say what you want about the show's approach to vampire lore, but it's pretty jarring how quickly everyone reacts to finding out that their former classmate died helping fight the Mayor and his minions in the same dismissive "haha, Harmony's always been an idiot" way; as if Harmony had 'decided' to become a vampire in a slightly embarrasing post-school life choice. It feels more in character for Buffy, Giles and Xander to argue that Harmony is dead and That Thing Is Not Her while Cordelia (just as in Disharmony over on Angel a season later) says "no, this is definitely Harmony, she's my friend". (Willow can still react in the same way as canon, sure; it's not out of character for her to dislike Harmony.) And I think it would help the maybe-demons-aren't-all-bad approach that the show obviously wants to go for if Harmony and Cordelia actually were friends this season. Like, Harmony herself still absolutely is evil and will hang around trying to feed on people heading home late from work in the dark -- but when she recognizes her intended victim is Cordelia she immediately drops the vamp face and they cheerfully walk back to Cordelia's place chatting about high school and how much they agree Xander sucks.
I think Cordelia would also help to push Giles out of his mid-life crisis a bit earlier than he manages in canon. Partly in the same way she does for Angel in his show. Sure, she can't fix everything going wrong in her own life but she can stop Giles sitting around feeling sorry for himself in his large house [much larger than some people's houses, she'll point out] and maybe push himself into finding an actual job more quickly. I think that would set up some tension with Anya later (when she gets a job at the shop Giles opens, a little ahead of canon) which I think would be nice to see. (I also think it would be fun to see Anya interact with Cordelia more generally, the way they did in The Wish when Anya was first pretending to be human. They are both pretty blunt speakers, after all, who both see themselves as being outside of the core Scooby Group, and it would be fun to see them commenting on things together. Or to imagine Cordelia's puzzled/disgusted reaction whenever Anya starts talking about how great Xander is and how much she enjoys having sex with him.)
Once we get to Season 5, I'd love to see how Dawn and Cordelia interact. As I think I've said before, I think they'd get on really well (and that this would annoy Buffy a lot). Dawn looks up to Cordelia as somebody a lot like her own sister before she became a Slayer (but infinitely superior because she isn't actually her sister), while Cordelia loves having somebody tell her how great she is and tells Dawn how much cooler she is than Buffy (and not entirely just to annoy Buffy). I think Cordelia might even replace Willow in some contexts (in particular, I think it parallels Cordelia instantly agreeing to drive Buffy home in Helpless if Dawn demands to stay at Cordelia's after Joyce's funeral and Cordelia instantly accepts even though we've already established she doesn't want anyone she knows seeing the reduced circumstances she's living in). Cordelia never interacts with Joyce in canon as much as Buffy's other shadow selves do, but she does seem to admire her [in their very limited exchanges]. Actually, maybe at some point in Season 4 Cordelia quits her retail job to go and work for Joyce at the art gallery? I mean, if Season 4 is (in part) about Buffy losing touch with her mother as she moves away from home, what better way to represent that than by having the character who represents Buffy's younger, pre-Slayer self start spending more time with her?
When Riley delivers his stupid ultimatum to Buffy in Into The Woods, Xander would still give his ridiculous speech to Buffy about how great Riley is and how this is all Buffy's fault, but Cordelia (who, it turns out, has views of her own on what to do when your boyfriend cheats on you and expects you to forgive him and take him back and indeed about whether you should take Xander Harris seriously about anything) would interupt and point out just how bizarre what Xander was saying was (and probably be the catalyst for him to realize that what he's saying applies far more to his own relationship with Anya). We cut to Riley waiting by his helicopter ready to go and pacify Central America for Christian missionaries [or whatever] when a female figure emerges from the woods ... Riley looks up, hopeful, but it's not Buffy. It's Cordelia ["what," she says, paraphrasing Gunn; "you were expecting somebody else?"]. Cordelia gets to give Riley a piece of her mind and tell him how great Buffy is [something she'd never tell Buffy, of course] and how badly Riley messed things up, and then she cheerfully waves him off as he leaves Sunnydale forever. [And, okay, yes, Buffy will still be upset about their relationship ending and she will still blame herself later when the topic comes up -- that's just who she is and how she approaches all of her romantic relationships. But at least we don't have to humor Joss Whedon's ego by pretending that she was right to do this and that her relationship with Riley was actually great all along.]

AU of Season Six where Buffy is having the affair with Angelus instead. In this scenario Angel never got resouled and hes just kinda been in and out as a recurrent big bad and source of chaos. And then one day Buffy just DIES like a total BITCH and now he feels... weird. And then she comes back to life and wants to jump his bones. He's as baffled as everybody else. The intervention is called by HIM he goes to Xander like "listen I know I'm the fucking devil but I'm concerned about her????"
AU of Season Six where Buffy is having the affair with Glory instead. Killing Ben left Glory human and Giles super tried to kill her too but she bribes Willow with the ritual to raise buffy from the dead and then stuff gets Weird with the Slayer. Instead of Riley coming back for a single episode it's Cordelia and she calls it in like five seconds. She and Buffy are exes and it's mentioned so casually you miss it the first time.
AU of Season Six where Buffy is having the affair with Vampire!Willow instead. Instead of sending Vamp Willow away at the end of Doppelgangland and they have all regretted it ever since. Every Six months she died one (1) useful thing and that keeps convincing the gang to let her live. She and Buffy aren't friends, but they aren't enemies either. Buffy loves all facets of Willow equally, apparently, and Vamp Willow is so lonely it hurts. Vamp Willow throws herself into the fray against Glory for reasons she won't let on, and when Buffy comes back, she feels so...well. now Buffy has crawled out of a grave, too. That's fun! More than fun. Buffys so sad, though, and that's no fun. Not just Tara dies this time; when Buffy takes Warren's bullet, Vamp Willow panics and turns her. Season Seven involves hunting for Buffys soul and Vamp Willow keeps going "I think she's fine like this :3"

FAITH: Think it's gonna rain? MAYOR: Nonsense. It's a beautiful day. Now eat your sandwich. FAITH: I dunno. It just always seems like it starts raining about now. MAYOR: You're too young and too pretty a girl to start wearing worry lines on your face. Oh, hey. (Picks small snake off blanket) MAYOR to snake: Hey there, little fella. I dunno where you belong, but it's not here with us. (Chuckles) There you go. (Puts the snake back in the soil.) MAYOR to Faith: Y'see, there's nothing gonna spoil our time together. johnoscar buffy au where they're slayer/vamp (ada is giles, pumpkin is oz)
floored by the concept of watcher ada. i feel like that concept has immense potential. i am less sure about the potential of the rest of this however which means you clearly understood the assignment 🌟🌟🌟
is the implication of this then that oscar is the vampire slayer and john is the vampire? or is ada vampire slayer adjacent with a vampire family member. much to think about
i will be honest i tend to prefer aus keep to the "girl" part of the whole slayer deal. luckily we have a wealth of those to choose from

Heathers, Buffy dark comedy AU for Halloween.
So I was thinking about how Buffy was the popular girl changed by being the slayer.
What if Heather Chandler is a slayer due to season 6 creating multiple slayers with forty-year-old Xander and Cordelia acting as her Giles in 2010.
I'm thinking of a combo of the 2018 reboot in terms of the Heathers as a whole mixed with the eighties movie and a sprinkling of a few musical traits.
Heather Chandler
2018 Heather C has a lot of baggage and i think a lot of her characterization was very interesting. She is more feral than previous heathers. (She uses a cigar and hair spray on JD and nearly fries his face off!) So I think she could work as someone who slays vampires.
I also want to add some elements from the eighties movie. She's never seen in anything but red. And she does get taken advantage of/ used by others.Probly perfers Mov cocktails to stakes as weapons.
Heather Duke
The genderqueer icon of the 2018 reboot with the sassy one liners. But with their 80's movie/musical role as Heather C's punching bag. Rather then the favorite role. With them bearly makeing the cut as a heather due to being a gay nerd deep down. Their intelligence makes them quite the threat ,when it comes to dastardly plans aginst the forces of darkness.
Heather Mcnamara
Looks like her 2018 reboot self, but with the sweet, niave personality of the eighties movie/ musical. She can be mean but does it as part of the group and or joins the crowd in mocking someone. But on her own she is not going to be cruel. Also restoreing her staus as Chandler's favorite friend, right hand. Yes, she's also a cheerleader! And her flips come in handy aginst demons.
Veronica
She could be another member of the team. But, I'm leaning towards her getting turned and becoming the Heathers personal Angelus/ Faith. All the darkness and resentment from both 2018 and eighties Veronica coming to the surface. She'd be worse then JD knowing all their insecurities. She'd weaponize the crap out of their former friendship.
(I like the idea of her killing JD, i've had it with cool guys like you indeed! Because Vamp Veronica realizes JD is an abusive shit whose useing her.) Vamp Veronica still wants to distroy the system of westenberg.
Bonus, if its partically the Heathers fault Chandler made her get out of the car and walk home alone. Duke and Mcnamara never spoke up aginst this.

Hi! Okay so I saw you also ship Hellcheer and yay! Cuz I thought of a hellcheer inspired au for Buffy and Spike and I think you might appreciate it?
So, this would be like, the Buffy we met before she became the slayer (she's a cheerleader and in her cheer outfit). So she hasn't been chosen just yet, but it's coming and she's like starting to see weird things (demons and vamps) but hasn't had to fight yet. But obvi she feels like she's losing it. So she goes to the local drug dealer cuz she just thinks she's crazy and she needs to calm down somehow. Enter Spike (starts off human), who is the local drug dealer lol. But he's not in high school. She's a senior so she's 18 and he's like 25. (Also side note but he has a band too, singer/guitar/songwriter with his bestie Oz on backup vocals/guitar and human Clem on drums lol). And so she's never done drugs she's nervous and Spike looks scary obvi. But then this is where the picnic scene comes in (she's scared cuz of the visions and he's suspicious but then can tell she's really scared, she doesn't want him to leave, he gets her to relax and smile) and then she goes to his trailer and she feels safe with him, he keeps making her smile and laugh. They get to have some moments before! Okay they do get to smoke a bit of weed and it's Buffy's first time (I think it should be her first time) like she's not super high but she's relaxed and still knows what she's doing. So Spike puts a record on, Buzzcocks (I do think Buffy would like them) and it's "Ever Fallen in Love (with someone you shouldn't've)" cuz, yeah lol. And like maybe they're kinda head banging jumping around (cheesy lol) but you know the lyrics, and they kinda slow down and they looking into each others eyes and maybe they're loosely holding each other not realizing it and kinda swaying and it finishes and then they kiss for the first time. And then Giles comes and tells her she's the slayer and some dangerous vamps are coming for her.
It's Angel (no soul) and Dru. They came to get the jump on Buffy. (Idk why but I don't see Darla in this) Dru bites him and is his sire, Spike is obvi drawn to her. But Spike is still loyal to Buffy on some level. So he's def like gray morally speaking in this from the get-go.
(And it's so devastating for Buffy. She thinks she's crazy and then she meets someone she'd never talk to otherwise and they vibe so well and then she finds out she's the fucking slayer. And then he turns into a vamp. And she's going to blame herself.)
(Also let's pretend vamps turn instantly) and that's why she hesitates with staking him and he gets away with Dru and Angel. And then he joins the dark side blah blah. So they have this history, and then kinda like an in season 2 there's end of the world thing Angel is trying to do so it's reluctant teaming up but they know and like each other and it's tense and it's weird and there's UST. So of course Buffy's like, oh I can't want to like him he's a vamp now blah blah but then they're working together and she's like, he's so like the Spike I knew?? Like he acts like how he did before sometimes. And then yeah they can't keep apart duh lol.
Sorry it's like super long😅😅😅 but anyways I think it's such a fun au for them? And also hellcheering was too fun to resist! Lol
Sorry it took me so long to reply, I keep forgetting to check my inbox. I’ll admit I never really thought of a hellcheer AU for them even though their archetypes are similar/adjacent. This is v fun! I especially love the idea of Spike and Oz and human!clem in a band, that sounds so fun.

D:
Snowed In by Dorians Kitten [NC-17] - this is an all-human story
A particularly awful week sends Buffy Summers running for the remote family cabin she general avoids. She has every intention of spending a few days binge-watching bad movies and eating junk food...alone. The possibility of being snowed in is not a concern. Or at least it isn't until she parks her car and the only man she ever loved, the only man who ever broke her heart, steps out the front door.
E:
The Truth Will Set You Free by Enigmaticblue [PG-13]
Set in S4, after Something Blue. Giles does that truth spell on Spike after all, but what happens when it gets stuck? The truth is sometimes a very uncomfortable thing.

Best Served Cold by Girlytek [NC-17]
Willow takes DHoffryn up on his offer at the end of Something Blue. Now Buffy has a new roommate. And a really big waterbed.
H:
Tutor by Holly [NC-17]
Buffy has a certain set of skills: staking vampires, slaying demons, preventing the apocalypse, and chasing off men after a single night. That last thing could stand being crossed off her list. Fortunately, she knows just the man—err, vamp—to help.
I:
Wounded by incendie [NC-17]
When Buffy goes to Spike in the basement, she isn't prepared for what she finds. Can wounds be healed?
J:
Workaround by joycometh [NC-17]
Her Slayer Life and her Sex Life aren't always compatible. Still, there's a workaround if you really want it. (Set in a post-series universe where Buffy and Spike are in an established relationship.)
K:
A Better Way to Go by kats_meow [NC-17]
It's Buffy's twenty-first birthday - you know, the one she was supposed to be conveniently dead for - and some smartass has left a crumpled up poem on her porch. Is it trash, a wish, or a chance for something better?
L:
All Quiet on the Summers Front by lex_hex [PG-13]
Spike reflects on the past year he's spent in Sunnydale as he reads Dawn's take on the same events. Set after an AU 'Who Are You'.
M:
Turning the Tables by MaggieLaFey [NC-17]
After the events of A Trip to the Store, Buffy is just too damn curious: what's it like to be on Spike's side of their games? To the surprise of absolutely no one, Spike is more than happy to show her the ropes of her new position. ;)
N:
What Goes Around by Ninereeds [NC-17]
The citizens of Sunnydale find themselves acting on their darkest desires, and the Scoobies' summer vacation hangs in the balance. When Spike turns out to be the only one Buffy can trust, her carefully constructed black-and-white world starts looking a lot gray-shadier. Set in the summer after season 4
O:
The Girl Who Courted Death by OffYourBird [NC-17]
Due to a misfortune of genetics, Buffy is never Called as a Slayer. Instead, she grows up in L.A. with a different set of challenges and trials, unaware of the supernatural world. That is, until a chance encounter with the Slayer of Slayers changes her life—and everything afterward—forever.
P:
Rock Solid by Passion4Spike [NC-17]
Buffy comes to some realizations about herself, the nature of her love, and her feelings for Spike on the eve of the biggest fight of her life, but will it be too little, too late? Spoiler Alert: No, it won’t.
R:
Smoke and Mirrors by Rikki_oko [NC-17]
Season 4, goes AU after Hush.
S:
Someday by Sunalso [NC-17]
AU. The world is broken, but Buffy is given seven days to make it better. Does saving humanity mean letting go of the one thing she wants, or grabbing on to it with both hands?
T:
Naked by The Danish Bird [NC-17]
Her mom is out of the woods, her boyfriend is nice and attentive, the witches are working on some spell to confine Glory for a little while. Things should be looking up, really. But why has Riley slipped out of bed in the middle of the night? And why is Spike, of all annoying people, suddenly there, in her room, refusing to leave? And why are they suddenly stuck there together, on her bed? Buffy could really do with some witchy help right about now...and clothes, clothes would be of the good!
U:
The Space Between by untouchable [PG-13]
Instead of taking Psych 101 with Willow, Buffy decides to take a poetry class.
V:
Unconditional by violettathepiratequeen [G]
Spike dusts Drusilla at Buffy's request, but Buffy isn't prepared for the state she'll find him in after the deed is done.
W:
I Fought the World for Your Hand (Give My New Body a Chance) by williamthebloodied [NC-17]
On a scale of 1-10, Buffy’s idea for her Halloween costume this year probably fell on a precarious 5. It could be great, doing everything she hoped and more for both she and Spike. On the other hand, it could easily fall down the wrong side of the slippery slope into majorly bad, rehashing things best left demolished in the past. Also, recycling ideas was not the best look. But, if it worked the way she envisioned, with a hope and a prayer…it would eclipse that concern. or Buffy dresses up in 1870s fashion for Halloween and a whole lot of love ensues.
X:
Out of the Grey by xaphania [NC-17]
In the days following the Hellmouth’s collapse, Buffy finds herself craving time alone. A series of apparently random decisions draw her to the coast of England, where she has to deal with the possibility that Spike might not be so dead after all.
Y:
So Much Depends by yellowb [R]
All Buffy has to do is go back in time and grab the gem of Amara without being seen. It's a simple plan.

Ooh, I LOVE your outline for the ensouled Vamp Jenny AU where she gets sent from the Wishverse (even though I know it's something you'll probably never write)! The angst between her and Giles would've been SO GOOD, he still loves the version of her that died while this version of her just getting to know him again! Also, how would Vamp Jenny's clothing attire have been iconic? You also said you had a Slayer Jenny AU in mind, what would potentially happen in that one?
My vision of Vamp Jenny (and, in a more muted manner, Band Candy Jenny) is very Vivienne Westwood early 90s, punk (i.e. some of the angles and styles you get specifically in her Anglomania campaign) meets Poster Girl meets Bimini Bon Boulash. Jenny left home and cut all her shirts into crop tops and it spiralled from there. She is also way too attached to her eyeliner pencils.
The Slayer Jenny AU is rough around the edges, but basically Jenny is a Potential and given to the Council in the hopes she would one day be chosen and be able to get revenge on the vampires who slaughtered the village. She does not want to be a Slayer nor is she particularly good at it (at first.) Giles would be in his Ripper years and Jenny's watcher would be his dad, who he has a very strained relationship with. As time goes on Giles and Jenny end up getting very close, then Giles gets wind of the Cruciamentum...
#the absolute treasure trove of angst is very tempting to delve into but i think one s3 rewrite is enough for me!#there is actually a picture of a drag queen out there that i saw and was immediately like 'band candy outfit' and i cannot find it :(#asks

Another AU idea, if you're not bored of these already! Spike, for whatever reason, doesn't come back to Sunnydale. (Maybe the flights are expensive or something.) What alternative bad guy could be an interesting new Scooby? (You know, like Dracula, or Glory, or Sunday, etc. etc.)
PS: Faith isn't a bad guy, so she doesn't count! :)
As I think I've mentioned on here before, if I ever get around to writing a sequel to my S3 AU fic Coexist (which, to be clear, is not very likely to happen), I would probably have Sunday be the vampire who gets captured and then chipped by the Initiative.
But just to be a different (and to keep my options open if I ever do end up writing such a sequel), let's go with somebody else: Willow's vampire alter ego from The Wish and Doppelgangland. There are, I guess, a couple of objections to this idea: namely that the last time we saw vamp!Willow she was (a) in another dimension and (b) dead. But these are easily dealt with, I think.
How I see this playing out is that everything in Season 4 happens much the same way it does in canon for the first few episodes (Spike either comes back for The Harsh Light Of Day but then not a second time, or we can replace him in that one episode with somebody like ... I don't know, Lyle Gorch?). Oz and Willow still break up, as in canon, and Oz leaves town after Wild At Heart. Then:
We go immediately into Something Blue [skipping The Initiative for now, and skipping Pangs forever because it's trash]. Willow still casts her will-be-done spell and things play out as much as like canon as they can. Obviously that's pretty different, with no Spike -- we probably need to rename the episode for a start -- but Willow can still make Giles blind and Xander a literal demon magnet. Let's say her suggestion for Buffy is a bit like Dawn's wish in Season 6; she's upset about Buffy going patrolling and not staying with her, so she unwittingly says something that makes Buffy both unwilling and unable to leave the dorms (but it takes them a while to figure out this is what's happened). The other key difference is that, while mourning the end of her relationship with Oz, Willow brings up her doppelganger from last season and says she had a point that "this world's no fun". "Why," Willow says, "She should come back from wherever we sent her so I can tell her she was right." Cue to vamp!Willow in the Wishverse, just about to be staked (again) ... only to vanish and reappear in Willow's dorm room. [With some work, you could play up the fact that human!Willow didn't realize Oz could hurt her so badly with the fact that vamp!Willow was about to be killed by him.] Before our Willow can say anything, her counterpart escapes into the night (and Buffy can't chase her, because of the wish Willow made about her, which is something that helps them figure out what's going on).
At the end of the episode, Willow breaks the spell as in canon. Everyone assumes that this sent vamp!Willow back to her original dimension again -- especially when she doesn't show up to cause any more trouble -- but it doesn't. Instead she gets captured by the Initiative, just like Spike did in canon. And a couple of episodes later, she breaks free again ... only to discover, just like Spike did, that she's been chipped and can't hurt anybody human. She probably finds out a little bit sooner that she can still hurt demons and vampires: in fact, given her MO in Doppelgangland she probably only finds out she can't drink from living humans after she's already taken control of the current vampire gang in Sunnydale and tried to attack the Bronze (again). When that doesn't work (and after her reputation has taken a bit of a blow as a result) she tries the Drusilla approach of being a power behind the throne for a bit (not hurting anyone directly but getting a proxy to lead the other vampires in attacking humans and bringing her fresh blood from already-dead victims), but unfortuntately for her credibility the only vampire she can find who's willing to take orders from a vampire who can't hurt people herself is Harmony (who I guess was dating Lyle Gorch in this AU but broke up with him pretty quickly). And between that frustration and the fact the Initiative quickly show up again looking for her, she doesn't have much choice but to throw herself on the Scooby Gang's mercy [which we know, from Season 3, that they're likely to show her, especially if she can give them any information about the Initiative].
Cue sitcom-worthy plots wherein human!Willow is going to class and (mostly) spending her nights in the dorm room she shares with Buffy and sometimes going home to visit her parents and trying to keep her new relationship with Tara hidden from her friends, while vamp!Willow is sometimes hiding out in a crypt somewhere and sometimes hanging out with Anya and sometimes pretending to be human!Willow in Buffy's dorm (to escape both the Initiative and Harmony). Harmony has at least three conversations with human!Willow which she walks away from thinking she's been talking to vamp!Willow (Harmony thinks vamp!Willow is the coolest person she's ever met but the feeling is not quite mutual). Riley is briefly convinced that human!Willow is the missing "Hostile 17" he and his men have been looking for, then is persuaded that Willow is 100% human and not a vampire at all, then almost immediately runs into vamp!Willow and assumes he's still talking to human!Willow. When Faith temporarily steals Buffy's body in Who Are You? she also completely fails to clock that vamp!Willow and human!Willow are different people (though she figures out almost immediately that both Willows are crazy about Tara). She does get on a lot better with the vampire version of Willow than the human one, but she assumes this is just because Willow has mellowed out a lot since high school. (Faith only learns the truth when she comes back in Season 7.) Anya can tell them apart easily and thinks it's weird that other people can't. She and vamp!Willow get on like a house on fire (which really highlights how much Anya and human!Willow don't); they trade stories about various atrocities they've committed when they're bored (they agree that Anya's are better but Anya cheers vamp!Willow up by pointing out she's a lot older and had more time to practice being evil).
When Oz comes back later in the season, we briefly tease the idea that having two versions of Willow might be a way of resolving Willow's putative love triangle (especially by having vamp!Willow delightedly refer to Oz as 'puppy' when he first starts to transform into a werewolf again). The problem is that both Oz and Tara can always tell the two Willows apart, and neither of them is attracted to vamp!Willow at all. (The fact vamp!Willow remembers a version of Oz trying to kill her is not, as it turns out, much of a problem.) Adam still tries to recruit vamp!Willow to sow dissension in the ranks of the Scooby Gang, but she isn't very interested in trying [she's not interested in playing second fiddle to some other demon] and wouldn't be very good at it if she was. Adam gets Harmony to do it instead, and she is surprisingly successful at it at first (in part because she doesn't think of herself as doing anything untoward: she's just helpfully pointing out facts [cf. that Cordelia quote about tact]). Harmony still can't tell vamp!Willow and human!Willow apart though, so she cheerfully tells human!Willow that she thinks she [i.e. vamp!Willow] has done a great job infilitrating the gang and all Willow's friends already like her much more than the original, which she means sincerely and our Willow does not take well. Vamp!Willow figures out what's going on (and decides to tell the Scoobies about it, mainly because she's annoyed that Adam is trying to take 'her' rightful place as the town's Big Bad). But not before Harmony tries to give her the speech which she'd planned to give human!Willow (which is mostly the same speech about how great vamp!Willow is, actually, but Harmony makes the point of telling her that she's not as smart as vamp!Willow "so you shouldn't even try to stop Adam's plan, because there's no way a loser like you will figure out he's going to have all the demons be captured bythe Initiative then stage a break out and hope they all kill each other").
Vamp!Willow also follows canon!Spike's lead in falling for Buffy in Season 5. She is, if anything, even more mortified on realizing this than Spike was. Buffy and human!Willow try very hard to pretend this doesn't make things weird between them, not entirely succesfully. This gets even more difficult to do in Season 6 when vamp!Willow and Buffy start hooking up.

Hello there. I’m Corvidyus. It’s a pretty sick name for myself in my opinion, but you can shorten it however you like - Corvid, Dyus, Crow, whatever you will.
They/them pronouns for me please. This crow’s a mystery indeed.
Please, if you ever so desire, send me an ask, a comment, a tag. I love them.
Find me on ao3.
Current obsession: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Main fandom tags, for your blocking or browsing convenience: btvs (buffy the vampire slayer), st (stranger things), dn (death note), rotmnt (rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles)
Tags of my work: raven writing desk (writing), raven drawing desk (art), croaking (my general musings, thoughts, reviews)
current running tab of fic ideas
btvs
buffy getting her tattoo removed after 2x08 … just a funsy little fluff piece mostly focused on her and giles and maybe her mother as well
i really want to write a sort of spiritual continuation of buffy around the s3 ~ s4 time period, and make my own pseudo season. Particularly, I want to talk about her whole self sacrificial stuff and lack of direction in life (which I… heavily relate to)
Chosen 3 (Kendra, Faith, and Buffy) AU
More content with Kendra in it (set nebulously before her death / in an au she doesn’t die)
AU where angelus is even worse to Buffy; toys with her while pretending to have a soul and be Buffy’s BF for a bit
AU where Buffy comes back as a vamp at some point in the series, and struggles to keep herself under control (possibly after she was in heaven to add insult to injury?)
Some kind of fucked up animal reincarnation AU - buffy is cursed to live and reincarnate as many animals, all living at once. It’s hard to get back to Sunnydale (she has extremely bad luck the closer she gets), and hard for her friends to find any instance of her due to the amount
Some long and introspective s7 thing about Buffy and depression
Into the buffyverse (comics?)
some kind of thing where dawn and buffy have an introspective conversation after it’s discovered that she’s the key. I’m talking like, basically Buffy finds inconsistencies in her memories when she really looks; for example she can’t justify why she ran away over the summer between seasons 2 & 3 with Dawn in the mix, because none of her justifications or thoughts either way even involved her (even tho if she were “real” they def would’ve)
buffy sees a counselor (maybe au where that one guy doesnt die) but has trouble sharing her feelings so willow helps her open up with a spell focused on emotion sharing, which of course backfires as usual, and forces buffy to overshare
buffy heist fic. no reason. Purely vibes. Inspired by this edit
s4 rewrite (starting around hush, or within the next handful of eps) that does a better (read: more threatening and manipulative, and maybe not laughably easy to break into) initiative, with deeper parallels between adam riley and buffy
some kind of pre-chosen (possibly even pre-s5) original thing, involving like a slaypire big bad and maybe some magic ritual bs. Maybe i’d call it blackhole sun to be edgy
Furry Buffy AU bc I’m giving into my terrible urges
stranger things
maybe a little introspective piece on steve. I don’t have much to add that others haven’t gone over… but I find him so neat
Arcane
vi hurt comfort sniff sniff sniff?
Death Note
Rather than kill L, Rem partners with him to take down Light … this one’s mostly finished, I’m just struggling with the end

Also.. (long tea time anon again)
How DO you think the scoobies would handle it if giles is turned, and they're told they have to defeat him?
Personally I think its fun that in season 1 it would be emotionally easiest since they dont know him that well, but physically impossible since they're like,,,15. But in season 7 while they're much more physically capable and have the numbers, they all have deep emotional ties to him so it'd be incredibly hard for them. Neat little inverse chart on vamp giles slaying capabilities!
(Also of course theres the "giles wins vamp scoobies au" which is fun because. Fuck yeah vamp scoobies")
you know it's really interesting that you bring this up because i've been thinking a lot about it wrt my vamp giles au! obviously that one is really just a thinly veiled excuse to write fucked up obsessive calendiles so idk how relevant the scoobies are gonna be to that, but i know a component that i've seen in fic and that i think about a lot especially wrt season two buffy is the fact that she might be incredibly motivated and inclined to kill him. there was a line from the last chapter of impassioned (very good fic, highly recommend, all about jenny and ethan trying to resurrect giles, ethan is written as heterosexual so definitely go in prepared for that) that definitely influenced my take on buffy's response to vamp giles:
The Slayer was holding a stake and there was an unearthly glint in her eyes. 'You can't live like that,' she said. 'Not you. You told me, if you were ever t-turned, you told me what you wanted me...'
so like i can definitely see baby buffy being particularly brutal in response to her watcher being turned! especially if she was explicitly told by giles that if he ever got turned she was gonna need to Kill Him without hesitation. i think the grey area comes along in the later seasons, when she feels so disconnected from the world by virtue of being a slayer and starts clinging much harder to giles in response. i feel like she'd probably Want to kill him, because she'd know that he wouldn't want to live as an ensouled vampire, but she would really really struggle and there's a chance he'd take advantage of that.
i kinda love the idea of xander having a lot of trouble with the notion of killing vampire giles. imo, the way he views angel and spike and the like is oft colored by this mixture of jealousy and attraction, so it's a lot easier for him to weaponize his self-esteem issues and his frustration that these Monsters get so much latitude from buffy and say "they deserve to fucking die." but giles...xander jokes around about giles being Useless and British but that's always read to me as the way he shows his very deep affection for giles, you know? that's his bro. that's the only other guy friend he has, and i think he has always deeply felt the fact that he is not in any way appreciated or valued by giles. so i can definitely see xander being very deeply affected by giles's loss AND vamp giles going out of his way to mock and antagonize xander.
willow, i think, would be much more cool and clinical if she was older. of the og scoobies, she's absolutely the most like giles, and she's got the same pragmatic and vaguely murderous streak. now this is IF the scoobies veto her soul spell idea, because i think that she would immediately jump towards THAT as the problem-solver -- but if that's off the table, he's evil, he needs to go down, she's gonna take him down and cope with the emotional fallout when the people that she loves are safe.
i think something interesting to also take into account is like. by season seven there's also the added complication of the deliberate emotional distance that giles places between himself and his kids, and how they've all chosen to respond to that. so that would definitely also factor into the way they respond to a vamped version of him -- there could be this misery and frustration that they are never gonna get a better relationship with him. weirdly my brain immediately jumps to that bojack horseman monologue where he's talking about the frustration and pain of losing a parent who you were never on genuinely good terms with, and therefore losing the possibility that you will ever be on good terms with them again. a really interesting fic could make use of that concept in the later seasons, ESPECIALLY with buffy.
#asks#anonymous#meta#vamp giles au#KINDA.#but yeah this was very very fun i enjoyed thinking about it

So one of the buffy books has Giles as a vampire King trying to take over California. I am not reading this book myself and have very limited knowledge of its contents. But it did amuse me to think in modern day vampire Giles working and negotiating with the president to figure out the small details of California succeeding from the USA. And internet discourse about the existence of vampires and which political party is claiming the other party caused this or claims its a hoax. Meanwhile on Twitter there's a bunch of people thirsting over vamp Giles YouTube videos (propaganda that he gets help with recording from vamp harmony, spike, dru, and other young fashionable vamps) (dont know if in canon vamps can be video taped since they deal with the whole mirror thing, but if the cant someone animates a cute but evil avatar over the rest of the video), others over the vamp style, and the arguments on whether or not one should or shouldn't become a vampire. If vamp Giles is negotiating with the president and the media finds that out, than the whole world will find out and be forced to recognize the demonic activity around them resulting in hunts of demons and humans that seem too demonic. World religions are spiraling trying to figure out whether the violence is warranted or not. Countries already dealing with civil wars will suffer the most at first, but every country will begin falling into disarray trying to handle everything. Meanwhile willow is a vamp witch out lesbian using magic to improve her and the people she likes undead lives. Xander, angel, faith, Gunn, and Wesley are working together to make their own army of demons that don't want vampire rule and humans that want their lives back. And then there's Buffy who is getting the not vampire or dead but still Giles daughter so she's just imprisoned in a heavily guarded prison thats made to be like a one floor one bedroom apartment full of gifts that won't let her escape. Buffy is not pleased. Joyce is a vampire. Ethan is not a vampire but more like a... not to sound awful but Ethan is Giles Frisbee that he sends his followers to fetch, bring to him, taunt and banter (maybe smexy times), let him Ethan escape, and repeat. Wolfram and Hart is busier than it has ever been and expanding even further. Lorne is working on making safety zones for humans and demons where no violence is permitted.
