Wip on Valgrace (one shot) *AU Jason doesn't die*

This takes place when Leo is building the Argo ll he is hella stressed out and forgetting to eat and sleep, Jason knows its better to check up on him. Everyone tells him that there worried they never check on him. This story will either be a one shot or a story (who knows) its also going to be a little angst but some fluff too❤❤❤

When u randomly remember how horribly tragic Jason and Leo’s stories r because they knew that one of them had to die in order to save the world but Leo thought he could defy the prophecy and find a way for both of them to live and Jason assumed Leo was dead and then found out he was alive but they didn’t see each other for months and then when Leo was finally able to see this best friend again he finds out that Jason had died because in the end one of them had to

Alright, seeing as its the Olympics, how many of the "Olympians" / Athletes are demigods?

Feeling some type of way about Leo deciding Jason is the one who needs saving when Jason’s been the one saving people all his life.

The thing is, once they realize what the prophecy means, Jason decides if it’s him or Leo, it has to be him. He outright states this in his narration twice:

As much as Jason loved his life, he couldn’t let his friend die for his sake. He could never live with the guilt. ~ House of Hades

He knew the risks. But he wanted to take those risks himself, not put them on Leo. ~ Blood of Olympus

And the thing is, Leo knows this. Jason never tells him, but Leo still knows it. He doesn’t tell Jason and Piper his plan because he knows they’d never allow it. Because he knows Jason, stubborn hero leader that he was raised to be, would never let it be him.

Leo knows Jason would die for him and he will not allow it.

Thinking about how one of the first things Leo says when he manages to string words together after learning what happened to Jason in The Burning Maze is “He did what Jason always did. He saved the day.”

One thing that would’ve made the Jason/Piper arc SO much more interesting was if they actually explored the fact that they are probably one of the first Greco-Roman couples in several centuries.

Like imagine the shit that Jason- the Perfect Golden-Boy Praetor- would’ve gotten at CJ for dating a Graecus. He was expected to be a good soldier, and uphold Roman values. And it would’ve been a great accessory to his arc of feeling separated from Camp Jupiter and his Romanness.

And that’s a ship that’s canon, and it’s not talked about at all.

But you know what would’ve made it better? You know what the pressure of living up to the expectations of being in a certain type of couple to uphold a standard of life is a PERFECT METAPHOR FOR?

Queerness. Jason being in a relationship with a Greek being frowned upon by the Romans being a metaphor for being in a same-sex relationship would’ve fit so well. ESPECIALLY considering actual history and how Roman society viewed the very fruitiness of the Greeks, and thought they were superior than them because of it (that’s probably an oversimplification, but still).

My point, as always, is Valgrace should’ve been canon.

I was just cooking dinner for Jason and I when I cut my finger on a knife

"Ouch, fuck.."

Jason walks in

"What's wrong babe?"

"Oh I just cut my finger, that's all."

Jason comes up to see the cut and licks the wound

"I'm going to clean this its pretty deep." Jason mumbles

"Babe what are you doing?"

Jason snaps back into focus

"Oops sorry I forgot..."

I giggle while he leads me to the sink to wash my cut out, still embarrassed

"Your so cute when your flustered, its really no big deal im used to it now."

Jason rinsed out the cut with water while blushing a little he puts a bandaid on after he dries my hand

"Be more careful, love I don't want you hurt."

"I will be careful, my love."

Jason kisses my head before heading out into the living room

Jason's pov

(Ahh fuck, I did it again im so embarrassed)

"LOVE DINER IS READY!" Leo yells from the kitchen

"Im coming!" I shout back

I walk into the kitchen to see my favorite dinner, Leo's specialty, tacos.

"Baby this looks so good, you have to teach me how to make it sometime.'

"Maybe later im too tired rn."

We finish dinner talking about our day

"But my favorite part of the day has to be...you Jason, you made my day. Whenever you behave like a wolf its just so adorable.

"Aww baby your too sweet."

*time skip they are watching a movie

Leo's pov

"I love you Jason.."

"I love you too babe."

My eyes flicker down to his lips, before I even knew what was happening Jason kissed me

Jason after the kiss nuzzled my neck affectionately and we fell asleep on the couch.

IDK if I'll ever write it, I have Too Many Stories across too many fandoms, but I thought of a story again while I'm in my pjo mood.

I had the idea awhile back of Jason coming back from the dead with the Norse, chosen by Sam, with 0 memories (yes, again) when he, Magnus, and Alex go to investigate a violent fire moving across the country side. It isn't moving like a normal wildfire, and when they get close they can see it's physically crawling across the land, giant and nearly humanoid, with something at the heart. It attacks Magnus and Alex, but not Jason. When Jason strikes it, it tries to flee from him.

Eventually, a person falls from the flames, confused and rattled. He looks a bit like Alex, but his ears are pointed, like an elf. Jason draws his sword all the same, but the person knows who he is. He doesn't say it, but Jason can see it in his eyes. They're haunted.

The person says that they're all dead, but Jason doesn't know who he's talking about. Jo, Emmie, Georgina, Calypso, the young man says. They're all dead, he wasn't there and they died. Jason still doesn't know any of the names, but the figure seems to be losing himself into the fire again. He's mumbling, muttering, whispering to himself, and the fire seems to pull him backwards into it.

Alex tells Jason to kill the young man, Magnus is confused but seems to know something is amiss.

Jason doesn't want to. It doesn't feel right. Alex goes to kill him herself, but Jason finds himself blocking the attack.

Alex asks who he is to him. Jason doesn't know.

Leo was frozen in shock. Frozen in place.

This couldn’t be real. He was dreaming right? Or maybe… hallucinating? Leo had never had any problem like this before, but there had to be an explanation for this.

Jason Grace was dead. Leo had seen his dead body. And now he was looking straight at a ghost. A ghost. This wasn’t real… it couldn’t be. Could it?

Before Leo could process anything any further, he saw Jason running towards him. Jason wrapped his arms around Leo. Leo was completely stiff, paralyzed in shock. Was Jason… hugging him? Yes… it did seem that way, didn’t it?

Leo relaxed his body, going against his instincts. It didn’t really matter what this was. It didn’t matter because it was Jason. Jason Grace, his best friend. Jason Grace, the guy who he had gone through so much with. Jason Grace, who was hugging him.

It felt.. calming. Familiar. Leo felt Jason squeeze tighter, and then let go. Jason let out a sigh as he moved away. Jason was staring into his eyes. It took Leo a moment to realize he was staring back at Jason’s eyes. He felt a shock run throughout his body, and so he shook it off.

Leo looked away in embarrassment, and rubbed the back of his head with his right hand.

“Gods, it’s good to see you,” He heard Jason say in a soothing tone.

Leo felt his cheeks turn bright pink. “Uh, yeah! Sorry Superman, I don’t really… understand…” Leo basically only mouthed the last word.

“Oh! Yeah, haha! I’m uh… I’m back.”

Leo’s face scrunched up, trying to calculate this new information. Was he telling the truth? Was this really Jason Grace? After all this time? What did this mean? How had this happened? What was going to happen?

Jason tilted his head forward, reaching his hand out to Leo in support. Leo looked over to him, face still scrunched up in confusion. Jason awkwardly rested his hand on Leo’s shoulder. He patted it twice, and then settled it in place. Leo looked over at it, and then back up to Jason. Jason was taller than him, always had been.

Leo felt something settle in his stomach, not an unfamiliar feeling. Leo had felt this way before, probably just nerves. It didn’t worry him, but what happened next did.

Well, not what happened, but how it made him feel.

Leo watched Jason move closer to him and push their lips together. The weird part was… it didn’t feel weird. It kind of felt right. Like this was always supposed to happen. Not like a prophecy, but like a puzzle fitting into place. Alike how his lips fit perfectly against Jason’s.

Jason pulled away, and slumped his shoulders in embarrassment. He looked away and muttered something like “Uh”.

Leo could feel that his eyes had widened, but he kept quiet.

Jason didn’t say a single word, not for a long time. The two of them just stood there, stealing glances every once in awhile.

It had felt right. Why? Did it matter? Did Leo even really care? Did it do anything when Leo couldn’t stop thinking about Jason’s mouth on his.

It kind of felt like looking at fire. Made something heat within him, but that was expected. I mean, it was fire. This fire felt cool though, which didn’t make sense. It felt oh so very known, even if this was new.

In a way, he had done this a thousand times before. Not kissed the boy, but he had talked to him a thousand times before. They had connected over and over again, and really, that’s what had happened. A new form of connection. And Jason was… Jason.

Leo screamed inside as he lay alone in his cabin that night. All of this still lingering on his mind, even hours later.

Boggles my mind that people still deny any canonical evidence that could in any way support the concept of Valgrace when aside from the mountain of other evidence they’re straight up Romeo and Juliet-ing it between series.

One dies but not really. The other believes them to be dead, so offs himself/doesn’t think twice about sacrificing himself. The one that didn’t really die comes back into the picture just in time to find the other one has up and died.

And people still wanna deny it.
