I'm pissed at a fic author rn. They abandoned a fic two years ago and this is where they left it:

"Why is that upsetting you?" Link furrowed his brow. His own self disgust, as vague as it was, didn't feel at all related to this. This just felt natural and right. Unless... "Is it because I'm not zora that it's wrong?"

"No! No. Please don't worry at all, my friend," he was a little too quick to the defense, "It has nothing to do with you being hylian. Or, what it does have to do with it doesn't matter in the slightest."

"Then what does it have to do with?"

"I'm not sure you would want to hear-"

"I won't be mad, just tell me."

Sidon's mouth moves, but his voice catches in his throat as he again has to stop to pick his words carefully, "I'm going to miss you when you go home," he huffs something bittersweet, "I'm going to miss you when I go home. I- I miss you everyday even when I've only just left."

"That wasn't what you were going to say," Link would swear his heart had stopped.

"It wasn't, but I don't think it would be right for me to say what I was going to."

A moment passes between them. The confession left crammed into all the empty spaces of it own implication. Another moment, and then Link's hands are moving.

"It wouldn't be right for me to say it either then."

That bittersweet huff came again and then bloomed into a quiet laugh as Sidon let his head fall forward, his crest bumping the front of Link's shoulder.

"I'll miss you," he almost didn't lift his head again, not knowing if he could bare to see what Link had to say next.

"I'll miss you, too,"

And the primary reason I'm mad is because its my fic and I completely forgot I left it there so it's my responsibility to actually keep telling the story. Wahgh Misery increasing forever and ever.

Beside him in the passenger seat, Zheng Bei stares out the side window in silence. Gu Yiran had made Zhao Xiaoguang show him the map, during one of the endless waiting afternoons in the hospital when Zheng Bei wasn’t there. He’d reached out to trace the circled spots, all three, the sleeve of his hospital shirt catching against the edge of the paper as Zhao Xiaoguang said, Ge wanted us to check all of them, even though he was pretty sure you could only be here, pointing. A cluster of rectangles marking the abandoned crematory buildings north of Halan. Zhao Xiaoguang had left a fingerprint smear of grease along the entry road, right where it ran along the train tracks.

another snippet from the start of ch5! it feels so weird to be back to down drafting now that ch1-4 have shifted the story so far from the original final chapter outline that literally none of the draft material is appropriate anymore lol but it's really enjoyable to just sit and type the most medium sentences in the world without having to do any higher-level thinking about pacing or subtext or anything :) brain off drafting my beloved :)

This is actually a bit of a spoiler for like a monkey pilot but I just really find the idea cute so I'm sharing it now to bust my mood...

When Jake and Bradley were together the first time, Jake called Bradley baby or, if teasing, sweetheart and Bradley called Jake honey.

After they meet again at Top Gun, Jake quickly realizes that Maverick calls Bradley baby, too, because he's always going to be Mav's baby boy. Which is cute but also makes Jake feel really weird about calling Bradley baby again.

And he's thinking what he can call Bradley while they're lying in bed and Bradley is like a giant teddy bear, with very huggable arms and cuddling anything within his reach in his sleep. Hence Bradley Bear.

And he swears he didn't do it on purpose but the squad does tease them about them being the 'bear and his honey'.

about the chapter: yes, it's the last chapter ever. there will be no more. ever. honestly, I don't think you'll want another chapter after this considering the rough draft I'm working with is 250 PAGES
