okay so according to the prequel comic where angel dust first meets vaggie and charlie, we KNOW that angel was trying to change the terms of his contract and at least occasionally get a break from SA and abuse by selling drugs and maybe being a hitman as well. this didn’t work out for him and he was given a pretty fuckin rough punishment instead — but it DOES show that angel already was trying to make changes. that’s part of why, imo, he was more willing than most to take charlie up on her idea. and partially because the terms and free rent were fuckin ideal for someone whose soul is only under total control when he’s actually physically in the studio. giving him a different place to live, for free, immediately gave him breathing room and more opportunity to heal and improve than almost anything else could have. but again — he was already looking for a change.

i know there’s a million overlord husk AUs and some are goddamn gorgeous, but i always think they lean really far into the pretty woman trope. which, again, yeah angel seems like he was damn near written for. but usually they don’t let us see just how ruthless husk could be as an overlord. i think a fun twist would be, (if as per the usual au, husk wins angels soul in a game of poker) husk lets angel revise his contract to be a drug runner or hitman instead. again — the thing he was already trying to do with valentino. maybe angel would argue for a mix of his usual schtick too, whatever, but imo i think he’d had his fill of sex work by then bc he’d spent decades with it being abusive and soulcrushing.

anyway, if you want to give angel back his agency and remove him from the more direct source of trauma, i’ve never seen anyone do an overlord husk au like that but i think it could be a fun twist on the idea. more importantly PLEASE give that twink a gun. he loves them.

Swap AU:

Angel Dust does get called into the studio for work, but he only does one shoot per month. He's actually filling Valentino and Alastor on what Vox, Husker, and Charlie are up too. Thanks to Angel, all of Valentino's workers get a 250 dollar raise because of the pictures and coat he managed to grab for Alastor.

Alastor's Shadow is under strict instructions not to leave Vox's side, no matter what. Vox only really knows it's there when it decides it's board of playing at being a regular Shadow. Which usually happens when Vox is at the hotel, doing paperwork.

Vox's Geotia is related to Stolas! He's a nephew via Paimon. He's been to almost all of Octavia's Bday parties.

Valentino and Vox technically remote when Vox rescues both Charlie and Angel Dust when Charlie interrupts a shoot and catches everything on fire. Before Valentino can put it out, Alastor appears and shit nearly hits the fan(--he murders and devours the remaining camera crew, and cast except Angel, Charlie and Val) before Vox himself appears.

Vox just appearing immediately calms the radio demon down, his form returning to the one everyone recognizes as he gently moves towards Vox, a dark possessiveness in his eyes.

Vox tells Charlie to grab Angel and go, now he'll be right behind them, and Alastor chuckles, purring softly. "Will you, darling?" He asks, voice smooth. "Just this once I'll let you go. But next time I have you in my hand like this....you'll be mine, Vox. Mine and mine alone. Now go."

Vox and company run.

I wanted to touch on Angel's Mafia background more. Canonical in Hazbin Hotel, Angel was a Mafia member when he was alive. I feel like that could be such a fun character background. That could explain so many things on why Angel acts and lives the way he does.

Melly a poor moth demon who literally was rigged by the system in life she was hospitalized for most of her life and had only a few friends which are Sasha(Sinforosa) and Ken(Kitsu) she died on hospital bed from asthma in 2021 she is calm and collected but has a lot of depression and is very lazy she talks she likes to sew and make clothes and actually wanted to be a tailor she also likes to listen to mediation music in her free time her voice sounds kinda gruff due to her breathing mask she is heteroromantic asexual

Kitsu is a lovable and very likable fox demon he was computer science and engineering student and died in fire in his dorm in 2017 he is childhood friends with Sinforosa and Melly and he is a nice supportive guy who is completely against conflict he barely has any negatives beside he is very kinky compared to other bell citizens and does have a timid streak he likes to play video games and watch videos on his phone his a bit of a mix of a japanese and Canadian accent he is gay he used to date Dante when he was new to hell but is now dating Lex

Or Quincy Jane This chick is Velvette’s older twin sister and was her biggest supporter in life and her rising in hell but was sexually assaulted and by Valentino she died in the early 2000’s her cause of death was a red room which is basically is people get put through torture and murder and the process was recording and posted on the dark web so yeah a lot of trauma she generally feel like her sister abandoned her but buried it deep down until the incident with Val causing her to breakdown and runaway her personality is Spunky and Sassy Girlboss like her except she is more wiser and more maternal girlboss but she has her negatives are basically she had a lot PTSD and Bottles up her feelings until they burst and boil she likes to watch romcoms and generally is a old romantic and has British accent like Velvette and a similar voice but has a more maternal tone she is Bisexual

Dante is well trained bodyguard and hitman and Kitsu’s Ex and is Sinforosa’s Bodyguard and he is stoic and quiet and has a huge fucking temper which makes sense for him being a wrath ring citizen he likes to box and lift weights he has a southern accent and deep intimidating voice and is Bisexual

Next is Gidget she is in life she was a office worker from the late 1970’s she died from throwing herself into a lake and drowning she is loyal Christian and very religious and is a Loyal and super intelligent person but suffers from self-loathing due to her not knowing why she is in hell and thinks she failed as a Christian she has a valley girl accent she likes to cook and help out when she can and is lesbian

Risotto: Carmilla and Zestial

He may not be an overlord but Risotto is a heavily respected hitman and his services ( along with his team ) are often requested by Carmilla and Zestial themselves.

They usually talk about work but all 3 of them bond over the connection they have with their " family " and that they would do anything to protect them.

Carmilla's daughters are especially fond of him since he teached them the basics of self defense in Carmilla's absence, the overlord deeply appreciated that he took time to listen and find suitable weapons/combat style for her Clara and Odette.

Wine time between the 3 became a regular thing after some time~

Prosciutto: Stolas and Asmodeus

Prosciutto met the big guy Ozzie through his partner Fizzarolli ( Fizz had a show in Pride and was being followed by a bunch of creeps, so Prosci decided to help the imp hoping to get at least some type of reward....he did but definetly not the one he was hoping 🤣) and after being granted special VIP membership to Ozzie's second location in Pentagram city ( bear with me again, it's for plot reasons ) he was introduced by the Sin to Stoals as well.

The 3 of them bond over the fact that they always want to appear to their best and the high expectations people puts on them, their love for expensive stuff and the fact that all 3 are k*nky af.

So they meet in Ozzie's penthouse to chat and enjoy a good show (Asmodeus and Stolas also gave him a " i simp for imp " t shirt when they found out he was into imps as well lol)

Illuso: the Vees

Ok we talking about Heathers here....BUT WAY WORSE!!

If Illuso wasn't already part of the hitman team Vox, Val and Vel would have definetly asked him to join the V club but they all soon learned about his loyalty to the Squadra ( they lowkey respect that )

Vox asks the onryo sinner opinions about what trashy tv entartainment the mass needs cause Illuso is really quick on catching gossip; Val likes to party with him and they like to be the talk of the s*x clubs of the turf ( Valentino asked him to perform in some of his movies as well and illuso may have accepted...but no one knows in which one ) Velvette considers him a fashion icon, not as much as herself but definetly a close one! They love to make Voxtagram lives where they lay down the laws of what's " in " or not and loves to bully people online/on the runway durin vel's shows....so yeah these 3 together vibe but it's a nightmare for whoever is in their proximity

Hazbin Hotel WIPs:

I have two (three) Hazbin Hotel WIPs that are sooo so so dear to me. One focuses on Vox x female OC, the other on Valentino x female OC. Yes, I have a type, and so what 😔 anyway - the Vox one actually has Vox as a good guy, although he fumbles a lot with his relationship with female OC. He's VERY new to loving and healthy relationships. Vox and his lover flee to the Hazbin Hotel to seek refuge from Valentino's wrath, and he even forms a semi-sorta-kinda cordial, albeit strained, friendship with Alastor (who will ALSO have a partner!). Character development all-around, yippeeee!! Tonight I'm Saying Goodbye Valentino is the title, and it currently has two chapters up on AO3!

The Valentino x female OC WIP focuses on female OC as being new in Hell and landing in Valentino's clutches. Quickly rising in the ranks of sex work, she eventually becomes a top earning girl, "competing" with Angel Dust although they're actually really good friends. At some point, Valentino becomes so unbearably infatuated with female OC that he accuses her of working succubus magic on him. Eventually, she knocks it into his thick skull that she's not a succubus, and that if he's feeling this way about her, there must be some good fucking reason. Long story short, they become the evil power couple of hell that makes everyone cower <3 This one has the (mouthful) title of As the sun sets on your mortal life, the moon will shine on your afterlife! 3 chapters up so far on AO3!

The third Hazbin Hotel WIP focuses on Vox AND Valentino as they stalk and harass female OC in true staticmoth fashion. I haven't really written a whole lot on this one, but I can already tell I'm gonna LOVE it 😭 Since it's still very new, there's no link for it yet 😔

Original WIPs:

Hitman-inspired novel, my beloved 😭 this one is incredibly dear to me. It focuses on this female straight-A student whose only career wish is to become a hitman. She gets into a crime syndicate where she starts working as a brothel girl, and then steadily "grows" throughout the book. I'm thinking it'll be two books, at least. The first one to kinda explore her background and her relationships with everyone around her, and then the second one to focus on her as an actual assassin / hitman. Eventually, she does reach her goal, and having hitman'ed for a good decade or so, she has accumulated so much money that she can settle down with her partner and their army of dogs in the Swiss alps 🥺 It features some LGBT (bisexuality and trans people) and mental illness without outright demonising either. I'm very proud of it so far! It sits at like... 108k words 😅 just for the first book. I plan on getting this published - whether traditionally or self-published, I dunno yet.

I also have this other original WIP that's a sci-fi / romance novel idea. It features a bisexual / pansexual lady who gets gifted a state-of-the-art phone by her work. This phone has some seriously well-developed AI (think Siri from Apple, only far better), and since this leading lady is quite handy with engineering and very crafty, she fixes up a body for her phone's AI, and kinda like takes the AI and installs it into the frame? It's made of scrap and old janky robot parts, but neither of them cares, because now that AI has arms and a body, they can finally hug and kiss each other 😭 ❤️ eventually, the AI-turned-android will get upgrades. An important part of this story is the fact that android-human relationships are VERY frowned upon, and our leading lady and her android """friend""" will be the leaders in a revolution, of sorts, to make android-human relationships legal. This story will, maybe obviously, very much be a social commentary, but made to cater to me and the robotfuckers 😎 I do also plan to publish this one, at some point!

hc + 😴 for a sleep-themed headcanon!

this is an easy answer for claire, who has the most inconsistent sleep schedule known to man, but not to his own detriment. actually, he almost always gets 8 hours of sleep unless he's purposefully going without sleep for the sake of a job or another reason and can generally just be like "i'm going to sleep now" and then easily goes to sleep. the issue getting in the way of consistency is his job---he has to be available at all hours for hitman work, and as such can occasionally be downright nocturnal for a week or so before flipping on a dime and going right back to an up-in-the-daytime lifestyle. i don't even think he fathoms the idea of someone having trouble sleeping for reasons other than maybe occasional worry.

it's not really as interesting of an answer for huey... i don't think he has anything particularly unusual about the way he sleep, but he definitely does get a lot of nightmares. he used to be thrown off by them but since it's been a couple of centuries, he's sort of used to their presence. they cover a variety of topics to do with monica, his mother, and the burning of lotto valentino, but most of the faces of people he doesn't still talk to have long since faded from his memory and as such are not present in his nightmares anymore. i think back when monica's face was still there, he used to even enjoy the nightmares because they were the only time he got to see her, but now that he can't remember what she looked like they're the same dull, painful thing as most other reminders of her.

HAZBIN MAFIA AU BECAUSE I CANT FUCKING STOP THINKING ABOUT IT RRAAAAAHHAHAAHHHHHHH

OK FIRST THINGS FORST: HUSKERDUST

Angel was a model and a part-time actor when he got himself in big debt and met the wrong people and said the wrong thing in front of a mafia leader without noticing, and now to pay for all the horrible things he had done in the past he becomes Valentino’s little whore.

His latest mission was to infiltrate Alastor’s domain, another mafia leader whom Valentino’s been fighting with for longer than Angel has been alive. With his disguise expertise and flirting abilities he climbs to the top very fast, but before he manages to get closer to Alastor, he’s sent to the 1st division, under Alastor’s right-hand man and hitman Husker. Husk is very wary of him and Angel decides to win him over to finally meet Alastor, spoiler: he ends up growing feelings for him. 

Husk had always been on the wrong side of the law, and he’s found by Alastor one rainy night after offing an entire gang, Alastor pulls a few strings and somehow Husk owes him his life, so he becomes his most loyal dog. He’s the first to know about his plans and the one to decide who’s loyal to Alastor and who's not. He also has a lot of liberties that no other division captain has, such as Nifty or Frank. They’re ruthless but reckless, and Husk finds himself nannying children. 

OFF WE GO WITH THE OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVE IN THIS STORY YEY

Alastor took control over the gang after former mafia leaders Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar disappeared without notice, and has been climbing his way to the top at light speed. He and drug dealer Rosie go way back and she provides for his gang, she’s very impartial when it comes to business, but she will always have a space in her heart for Husk, so Alastor most of the time sends him to deal with her since he has so much work to do. He has a grutch on Valentino just for the sole reason he doesn't like how he dresses.

Valentino is the owner of countless whorehouses, warehouses, and menageries, he’s also a source of money laundering. He has a lot of deals going on with Rosie and Carmilla. Currently, his gang is the most influential in town, and he wishes to keep it that way, but Alastor keeps taking control of a lot of terrain.

Vox and Velvette are cops working under Adam’s command, but they have a contract with Valentino, this is the reason he always comes clean. Unbeknownst to the others, Valentino constantly thinks about offing them any time, Velvette has a reassurance contract with Carmilla and works for her as a spy in the police, and Vox is being blackmailed constantly by an unknown force that holds him back from pulling strings and actually shot down every gang in the city. 

Carmilla and Zestial work together as leaders of their own gang. They do a lot of things in the outskirts and deal with weaponry, drugs, and poisons. Also torture. Vaggie is under Carmilla’s protection and is a killing machine without emotions. She’s feared by everyone in the city, and Alastor tries to buy her every time he gets the chance. 

Adam is the captain of the police district but he doesn't do his job right, so the commanders and officials don't know what the fuck is happening in Hazbin City. 

Lute is lieutenant, she’s Vaggie's cousin but will never admit it and Vaggie doesn’t know this, so on Lute’s search of clues about the gangs, they fight a lot.

Alastor

Alastor killed a lot of the past Overlords is something that is rumored, speculate, and all but outright confirmed in canon, but they never go into why. While this isn't the case for all the Overlords he killed, I think many were selected to be knocked off by Satan/*whoever his canon contract holder is* while my blog will keep that this person is Satan, my HC is that he was basically acting as a Hitman when he took out a good number of these Overlords.

Sir Pentious

Star, you know all my HC's for the snek! Even the ones not posted here! So this is for other peeps to read. Pentious as a child didn't have friends growing up outside of his older sister Olivia, who was two years older than him. He had two other older sisters, but they were distant and in their late teens and nearly married off when he was still around 5-6, so he did really know them. He had a lot of paid friends. Basically, his parents paid other children to play or befriends with him, but they were never true friends.

Stolas

I try to keep my Stolas very close to Canon, but I have since decided on a few HC's for him. You get one for now. Stolas never met his mother, and it isn't because she doesn't exist or is dead but because Paimon discarded her after she had Stolas as his need for her was done. He could have imps do all the rest for him as far as Stolas' upbringing. It isn't about hating her or anything ether, more it's more of an alien thought process of "I need this many kids, each to fill a role. I don't need this extra stuff." Aka, very logical and apathetic. She is out there alive, though.

Valentino

Valentino had ties to the previous Overlord of the lust district, and it wasn't too unlike the relationship he has with Angel Dust. She (see bellow) was also his contract holder, and Alastor's "killing" (assuming that is actually what happened as we only know that angel steel can kill sinner demons) her freed him, if not nulling/breaking his contract.

Abel

Abel died a virgin and is still a virgin even after so many years in heaven and/or reincarnations.

Farris

Is very interested in learning as much as she can about Hell, not simply because no living person has been there and she hopes to tell the living what to expect, but she suspects that she is doomed to go their when she dies for accidently helping demons. She thinks of it as preparing for what is to come.

Trickshot

Has worked a job or two with Striker on the rare times the imp hybrid has been in the pride ring. He doubts Striker remembers him, but he has some fond memories of it.

Miss Hiss

This is more a scrapped idea than an HC as I haven't had a chance to use her. But I originally was going to make her a current year suicide character. But I got inspired by the Great Depression and how many people just killed themselves because of losing everything financially.

Rose Ars Goetia

Another scrapped idea rather than HC, I originally was going to make Rose just an imp or a Sinner demon. I had even toyed with bringing Negaduck into the HH fandom in the same way as a Sinner demon. (He would have been less modern and killed during the Salem witch trials via the "lighter than a duck" drowned session, thus his duck form.) But seeing all the Sinner ocs and such I wanted to try something less common with her. Thus, she is a Goetia that mingles with lower class undercover.

Backstory:

Gio was born in the Lust Ring of Hell. His mother was a worker at Ozzy's, and his father was a pimp who sometimes sold drugs. Gio was an accidental birth, much like his older half-brother. His parents had a volatile relationship, and so he and his brother would do anything to stay away from home. His brother eventually became a hitman for anyone who was willing to pay while Gio became an erotica writer. Gio's life wasn't easy as a writer, so when times got hard, he'd resort to all he knew, and that was giving himself up to others for whatever lustful thing they'd want from him. As a result, Gio has always been, for the most part alone, and the few significant others he's had often leave for one reason or another, or he'd break up with them. Gio does have one unfortunate tie he can't just get rid of and that's one time while he was in the Pride Ring he came across a man named Valentino who offered to sell his books at his studio, but for a price. This caused a cycle that Gio hasn't been able to break as of yet. Gio is a well-known writer nowadays, and his books sell relatively well. He has a few friends, so that helps at times, but he is still haunted by Valentino whenever he gets a call from him.

There’s only really three ways for Vincent Price falling into Hell to go. In one world, he stays, be it through contract or choice, he falls and never gets out again. Vincent Price vanishes mysteriously, consigned to the pages of an unsolved mystery. In another, he leaves, back to New York and his life on the TV screens, and maybe because of or maybe despite his best efforts, nothing changes, inevitable; Vincent Price dies and Media Overlord Vox is born. The last option is he goes back, but not unchanged— you can’t be touched by Hell and come back the same after all.

He’s not sure, initially, what he’s going to do. But the some of the elected positions in New York are up for election that year. It’s a spur of the moment choice to run. It’s an incredibly busy few months, trying to gain supporters, party support, a platform that’s distinct enough but not so… severe as to get him labelled a Communist. There’s a few things that are in his favour: he’s young, well spoken, he appeals to a lot of people. The war is over, and anything is possible. It’s those same traits that make him unliked by others.

Somehow, and he’s never sure what exactly tips the scales in his favour, he wins.

During the year, he finds Angel, well Anthony, just before he dies, because whether or not he wants to change it, he can’t. Anthony’s time runs out in 1946, just like how his runs out in 1955, you can’t live past it, there’s no life for you in the world left. To what isn’t his complete surprise, Anthony doesn’t believe him, and Vincent tables that concern for his own death.

He does a lot of good in what ways he can, selfish good, good inspired by what he saw in Hell— things he saw himself doing in Hell, or based off what Astor said (there is heartbreak in leaving, but they both knew it couldn’t last forever). He comes out, publicly, after the better part of 9 years, in part to throw his support behind the proposed law to decriminalize sodomy, in part as a stand against McCarthy. It’s not the thing that assures his death, that’s pre-ordained, but it probably doesn’t help either. He’s a hit for a hired mafia hit man, assassinated instead of murdered, but it’s a thin distinction.

Hell comes next, and here, he has a slightly better idea what he’s doing. Some of it’s still the same after all: he still falls a few days before the Extermination. He finds Angel again, who’s more than a little surprised that the whole thing wasn’t just one man’s insane ramblings, and sets him up with Adelard because right now, there’s no empire, just a loose plan.

The next part goes similarly in either version. The vaudeville overlord dies in the extermination, and he seizes the vacuum, knocking off a few competitors on the way. He gets Angel, with a promise to make him a star— he knows what a knack Angel has for it, he just has to make sure it’s under him instead of Valentino, who he has decades to prepare for now.

Other things stay the same too, he goes for Media like he does normally, he’s well spoken in a way that politicians and newscasters both are. He tries, with limited success to replicate the technology he saw, and to his credit, it comes faster, but still not fast. Like Val, Hellaina won’t die for decades yet.

Vincent Price’s return to Hell is prepared, and has been for a decade. People to save, an empire to build, his own happiness to protect. He owns more of the Pentagram by the time the future he met originally rolls around, better infrastructure. It may have taken 80 years, but it got there in the end.

Some things stay the same of course: he and Alastor still fight, that particular rivalry might as well be a part of the fabric of time. The Exterminators still come, and Charlie starts the hotel, except this time, their fist client is the very same mafia hitman that killed Vox, Angel’s very own brother. Well, for a while at least, until Angel decides that maybe he’d like to chance to see his sister again, and Vox trades a star for Arackniss, to act as body guard and debt collector.

It’s not happy so much as it’s better: less damaged, less sad, still Hell. And when after 80 years, the lover that made it worth it all is finally there again, Vincent smiles, laughs, and reintroduces himself to the man who made it all possible in the first place.

Among the Hellaverse cast, which characters' situations would qualify for whump?

Halfway as I was writing this post I figured I had read your ask wrong LMAO (i was listing every whump scene in helluva and hazbin)

Here we go: (long ramble oopsie)

Ok, so, this is a NICE ask. In Hazbin Hotel, first is Angel Dust, who being in a contract that sells away his soul to his abuser, makes a pretty good whumpee (and HAS done *side eyes episode 4*), Husk too, is in a contract with another overlord and he has had his chain yanked a few times and in general has potential for having MUCH more bad times for him.

We also have Vaggie as a whumpee, I like to think, because of all her backstory thing. She lost her eye and wings and all, but my favorite thing about it is that she was a reluctant whumper, now TURNED whumpee. I love reluctant whumpers.

Now moving on to PROPER whumpers we have: Alastor (ofc), Valentino and Velvette (I suppose Vox too but we weren't shown much of his direct villany yet so not exactly a whumper), Sera (im DYING to have more of her) and Lute. Perhaps Lilith too.

For caretakers, I think Emily, Charlie and Alastor too (carewhumper!) fit this one.

Now ON to Helluva Boss:

First whumpees that come to mind are Blitz, Fizz and Stolas.

Stolas was forced into an arranged marriage and has been physically whumped in other times too (❤️❤️❤️), and his situation in general is pretty angsty, so I think he'd made a good whumpee. (And he did!)

Then Fizzarolli, he's got so much JUICE. Not much with his disability, unless we want to go backstory-era whump (yummy, tasty recovery whump) but mainlt with his (previous) affair with Mammon. The mid season special had me in such BLISS, because this man doesn't catch a break on it. It's a pretty whumpy and angsty episode I love (i love affair whump)

Then Blitz, of course, our star. His life is a disgrace. His relationships are a mess. He's got so many daddy issues and also is a hitman so he gets involved in fights OH so often. Plus him being in a marginalized group + bonus points for everyday oppresion!

I think Moxxie too, counts as a whumpee, especially considering all the (uhh comic) shit that happens to him and most of all his backstory and relationship with his father. Exes and Oohs gave me the whumpflies.

For whumpers, we have: Stella, Cash Buckzo (i think thats his name), Andrealphus, Mammon and Satan (if hes really gonna appear). Caretakers I think are uhh, Loona (she could be one), Asmodeus and 🤔🤔 pretty much everybody in Helluva Boss is fucked up. I guess they'll have to caretake each other.

GHOST [HH] - HISTORY

Ghost has always been secretive of their life.

They were born in October, 1991 with the name Celia, but are secretive of what came after that. The reason is simple- their childhood was relatively normal, their relationship with their parents positive.

They're much more secretive, however, when it comes to their college years.

When Ghost was twenty years old, they got into college- where they met Asha and Collin. Collin was a sweet redhead who was head over heels for Ghost. After a few weeks of friendship, Ghost found themself starting to return Collin's feelings- but around that same time they found themself conflicted and confused about their sexuality and identity, resulting in them pushing him away.

Finally, everything came to a head.

Collin had a drinking problem, one that got worse whenever big projects or tests rolled around, so when Ghost and Collin were put on a massive project together and Collin spent the day at a bar, Ghost was furious. When Collin returned home at three AM, Ghost was waiting and a confrontation started- at first, purely verbal. But then Collin got in Ghost's face, and they shoved him back.

Crack.

Ghost doesn't know if he died instantly.

But they are forever ashamed and horrified by their actions- and by what happened next. In a panicked attempt to protect themself, they claimed they didn't know what happened- that they just found him like that. Miraculously, they got away with it- their neighbors had been gone for the night, and Asha was with her project partner and didn't come home until it was too late.

They were only twenty-two when it happened.

For the next six years, Ghost would isolate themself more and more from the guilt and self-loathing after the event. They graduated college and decided to live alone, haunted by the guilt.

in 2019, when Ghost was 28 years old, they suffered an injury that became infected. Unable to afford a hospital visit, they tried to take care of it on their own- until finally they were forced to go to the ER.

Ghost's last days were full of bright lights, sterile smells, loud beeping and doctors- they don't remember if anyone was there for them, sleeping off and on too much to really recall.

It was devastating, but not surprising to them, when they fell asleep one night and woke up in Hell.

At first, they were terrified. Shy and submissive, they tried to appeal to everyone in order to make themself less of a target. After a few months of this, they realized it wasn't working- and suddenly realized how angry they were.

Angry that they had died. Angry that they were in Hell. Angry that everyone pushed them around. Angry that they kept being hurt. Angry at themself.

Ghost quickly found their wrath.

The next time someone tried to take something from them, their teeth met the would-be thief's throat.

After this, they continued to get into fights- things coming to a head when they met the hitman, Reaper. Reaper, at the moment, had been in the middle of slaughtering a smaller, weaker Sinner who had offended Reaper's client somehow. Incensed by this, Ghost attacked Reaper viscously. Before they knew it, their body had changed, mandibles growing longer and sharper, hands turned into talons, a stinger revealing itself and becoming much larger. They forced Reaper into submission, leaving him with several wounds and a broken horn that would never heal. When Ghost was satisfied, flying off, Reaper swore to kill them, starting their lifelong hatred of each other.

The violence Ghost showed, however, scared them when they realized what they'd done. They swore to never let themself transform again, but alas, it was not a promise to be kept.

Sometime during all of this, Ghost had met the Overlord Valentino. Surprised by the only Sinner who had not yet tried to mug them, they began to follow the Overlord around. While Valentino was, at first, hesitant of them considering their small size, the two eventually entered a romantic relationship. This relationship, however, was toxic, Ghost finding themself suddenly terrified of and even resentful of the larger Moth Demon.

Three years after the relationship began, they packed their bags, left an angry, heartbroken note, and fled, moving into a small apartment across the city where they currently reside.

Ghost has spent the last two years doing multiple different jobs while trying to sell their commission work- and is finally starting to open up again.

Time will only tell if things start to look up for them.
