“…Okay, so the only way for us to enjoy that huge discount is to act like we’re dating.” “What, so you’d fake date me for discounted food but you wouldn’t real date me even though I could take you out to the best restaurants out there in town every fucking night if you wanted me to?” 

“Chocolate flowers?” “I mean… You’re allergic to real flowers, but you still love seeing them either way, and you love chocolate, so…” “…This is why you’re the love of my life.” 

“So you’re the one who’s been slipping those notes into my locker?” “Well, shit, you weren’t supposed to catch me in the act. I wanted to use today to ask you out.”

“Hey love, I’m home— where are your clothes?” 

Character A and Character B meeting at a bar after their respective exes unceremoniously dumps them, and they lament over their losses for the night. It leads to more. 

“I don’t want us to be dating anymore,” Character A says, clutching the ring box in their hand, the velvety square box pressing into their palm. “What? Are you breaking up with me right now?” Character B questions, sounding a little stunned. “What? No!” Character B quickly denies, shaking their head. “Shit, now that I think about it, that was not— what I mean is—” They sigh loudly, dropping onto one knee; opens the ring box to reveal the simple silver band, then takes Character A’s hand into theirs. “Marry me?”

Character A approaching Character B, who’s crying at their table in the corner of the restaurant. “Hey,” they say, watching as Character A slowly looks up at them, face puffy and eyes red-rimmed. “Are you okay?” Character A shakes their head. “No,” they breathe out. “My boyfriend/girlfriend, now ex, dumped me. On our fucking anniversary.”

Character A and Character B spending Valentine’s Day together at home — there’s unresolved sexual tension, it’s almost palpable, and Character B decides tonight’s the night they’re gonna turn it into resolved sexual tension. 

Spending Valentine’s Day, cuddled in bed and watching the worst romcoms out there known to mankind and guffawing over it together.

14- Write about your ship celebrating their anniversary

"Gimme a shot of tequila, and one of vodka for him will ya!" The young bartender arched an eyebrow, then shrugged, dropping his glass-cleaning rag to serve the boss. The Afterlife was empty in the morning, just him and the Queen, Vanessa. Both remained silent, and she sat at the counter before turning her head towards the entrance, waiting for someone. But no one came; everyone deserted the bar, the brave ones going to work, the others to sleep. A smile appeared on her painted lips as she looked at the two shots side by side. A sincere smile lit up her face as she saw old memories dancing in her mind. Her long-nailed fingers brushed the tequila shot, playing a little invisible music with her fingertips. "It's our anniversary—the day I braved death and destroyed the Arasaka tower—the day he said he loved me, too." The bartender leaned back, ready to hear the story. Vanessa barely considered him and laughed at her own words. "Well, he didn't really say he loved me; we always thought that was lame and meaningless. He was there for me that day, giving me the best motivational speech to go to Mikoshi and back, back for him." He nodded. He'd been here a few months, knew most of the stories- bankers are always the best confidants- but never had this information. "Are you talkin'g' about Valentin?" "Who else, dear?"  A silence fell, and then he turned to the bar wall. Above the bottles, three portraits hung: Rogue in the middle, Jackie on the right and Valentin on the left. He didn't dare say anything, but the words ran through his head. He didn't want to hurt her feelings. But her mind was elsewhere, a time when she'd been young and carefree, when a man had braved death with her so as not to leave her alone. The day when everything changed in her life. The years went by, Vanessa's pink hair changed to deep black, her stilettos became boots, but still with heels. She had always refused to age completely but still left a few marks of time around her golden eyes. She remained the same, just as the years had passed over her as over the rest of the world. Rogue was long gone, Vanessa Vergara ruling Afterlife for years, alone. Everyone else left, dead or alive : Panam, Judy, Johnny ... now it was her turn to become a relic of a bygone past, a rare living legend. Bitterness invaded her face, it was better to drink before drowning. She took the shot of vodka and raised it to the portrait with her most beautiful smile. "À toi mon amour," she still had a few words of French left that he'd taught her, then drank the vodka in one gulp, then did the same with the tequila "ten years since you died, cabrón !” and drank just as fast. She rose from her bar seat, took a few steps towards the exit, and turned to the young bartender. "Never say the words you no doubt meant. Ya'll know that in Afterlife, heroes never die as long as someone's still thinkin' of them." She clutched a medallion to her heart, a gold one containing her portrait, and then, finally, set off on her way home.
