#valentine's cookies

Up today is the penultimate Valentine's Day cookie, eternal heart biscuits. Same as the golden heart biscuits, I prepared Pilsbury premade sugar cookie dough according to the cutout cookie directions and used a metallic edible cake paint for the color. It's still funny to me how much this makes them look like lumps of metal.

Just like the golden heart biscuits, these just have a plain sugar cookie flavor, though it does add some fun to be eating something that looks like metal. Good but not amazing.

I took initiative and gave Caviar a "white day" costume.

Admittedly I ain't too sure how proud I am of this costume design. But, I think it came out aight.

Happy Valentine's Day! The cookie of the day is the prism heart biscuit. This is described as an every flavor cookie, and since I cant put all possible flavors into one cookie, I went with putting all of the other heart biscuit flavors into this one. I followed the cutout cookie directions on Pilsbury premade sugar cookie dough and added extracts. since I'm adding multiple extracts, I put less of each so there's not Too Much Flavor. I added 1/4 teaspoon of blueberry and lime, and 1 teaspoon of cherry. I then iced the cookies with white chocolate melting wafers and used edible paint to get the rainbow effect, since I cant give a cookie the ability to refract light.

While my painting skills leave a bit to be desired, I think it looks alright. Unfortunately, I really don't care for the way these flavors taste together in this cookie. A shame to not have a great cookie to celebrate the holiday, but sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles.
