Talia Al Ghul in Detective Comics (1937) Issue 700

Carrying on from Bane of the Demon, Ra's tries to end the world with Bane and Talia by his side. Bane is still incredibly possessive over Talia who absolutely does not want to be around him which he does not care about because he views her as being his.

Batman stopped Ra's and they all retreated and also catwomans in this comic for like four panels don't ask me why I don't remember at all

This was the new normal for Alastor now. Ever since they started their sexual relationship, unlocking a new side of himself that never had been apparent before, he began waking up next to the man that he would soon marry. Who knew that after so many years, he would find something like this in his afterlife. It almost made him want to laugh at how ridiculous it all was.

After dragging himself out of bed, showering in the high tech shower -- which frustrated him to no end, how was this thing supposed to work anyway? -- he would finds himself getting dressed in the presence of the other man. It dawned on him how domestic all of this was. Something so foreign, something that he thought would never happen to him.

Yet, here he was.

Just as he was about to fix up the bowtie, his fiancé approached him. In a silent fit of submission, he didn't even try to do it himself. He would let the Media Demon do it. Since it was implied that the other was adamant on doing it.

"Not too tight, beloved, I don't want to choke through the day," It was a playful warning, mostly teasing. "Do you want me to make you some coffee while you're in that horrid excuse of a shower that you own?"

Survivors were always far and between after an extermination, but Vesper still looked for them every single time for the past hundred years they've been down here in Hell.

This latest one was no exception. It being contained to the princess' hotel didn't mean there couldn't be any unlucky stragglers in need of assistance, especially with both sides using angelic steel.

Ah, yes. The same steel that kills sinners, kills angels!

They thought the discovery was ironic; Heaven had been so bullish with their disdain that they didn't consider their weapons could hurt their own kind.

It's not long before their eyes spot a shambling figure in the shadows nearby what was left of the radio tower, silhouette so clearly identifiable as none other than the Radio Demon himself — and he looked very beat up.

Normally, this would be where they'd rush in to help someone, but this was an overlord. Not just any overlord, but one posssessing sheer power capable of taking out other overlords. This could be risky, perhaps even dangerous if he were to discover they're actually an angel and not a sinner like they've been pretending to be.

A step forward, then backward, then forward again; repeating the pattern as they mull over whether or not they should help him. Fortunately (or unfortunately,) the instinct to help was far too strong, too hardwired in their soul that they couldn't leave him be.

There's a quiet sigh of resignation as they carefully approach the injured overlord, calling out to him in a soft voice.

"Sir?"

One thing I’ve never exactly understood. Why did the victory on Earth in books 53/54 correspond to a total victory over the Yeerk Empire? Most clearly, we never see the Council of 13 get defeated.

Short answer: Eva.

Long answer:

This is all kind of background to the main plots of the books, but. What we know happens is something like this.

The yeerks try to take Leera, under Visser One's leadership. They meet andalite resistance, leeran resistance, and Animorph resistance — ultimately they fail (#15 - #18).

V1 gets reassigned to Sleegab Five. Not many details, but it doesn't go well. Doesn't help that Marco has been actively discrediting her within the Empire (#30).

V1 gets rereassigned to Anati (#30).

Toby et al. launch a resistance on the Hork-Bajir Homeworld (#34).

V1 gets tried as a traitor (thanks, Marco) and slated for execution (Visser). V3 becomes V1. This corresponds with the Empire withdrawing from some failed attempts to take other planets.

Eva (after being rescued; thanks Marco) points out that the Yeerk Empire has few territories outside of Earth that aren't being occupied by andalite counter-invasions (#45).

Andalites have occupied Yeerk Homeworld, Taxxon Homeworld, and Sleegab Five, taking them back from Yeerk Empire (#46). Eva knows that the yeerks are trying to convince the andalites that their focus is on Anati, and that their actual focus is on Earth.

Ax persuades Andalite War Council that yeerks are concentrating on Earth, which is a mixed blessing — it gets the andalites to head for Earth, but they plan to annihilate it when they arrive (#46).

Yeerk forces further concentrate on Earth (#51). Eva speculates that they now have 0 other planets, if they've lost Anati.

Jake, Toby, and Eva plan to blow the biggest yeerk pool on Earth to convince the yeerks "Earth isn't worth their time". They know they're making the yeerks some other planet's problem, but need to prevent the andalites from wiping out humanity (#52).

The yeerks are so overcommitted to Earth that blowing the yeerk pool has the opposite effect. New!V1 instead lands the Pool Ship on Earth and throws everything at an open Earth invasion (#53).

Eva, Jake, Arbron, and V17* conspire to both draw andalite forces to Earth and conceal that fact from new!V1. Now all the andalites' and all the yeerks' eggs are in the Earth basket (#53).

Jake corners V1 and forces him to surrender. V17 reveals to the Empire that the andalites are here, and plans to use that chaos to escape with a splinter group. The andalites accept Jake's handing over the Yeerk Empire (#54).

Rachel kills Tom, preventing V17's escape.

Ax and Alloran manage to negotiate Earth remaining independent, even as the andalites take control of the Yeerk Empire.

i like to think about music within ultrakill - not the soundtrack but the known effects of music on machines - and i dont see too many other ppl talk about it in the way i think about it

music attracts machines - iirc somewhere in the game it says that machines were drawn to it, thats why the terminals play music - to lure in machines - something is hardcoded into machines to love music, to always seek it out, to always find where its coming from

and ofc that goes for V1 as well (re: the seemingly common hc i see in fics that V1 composed the soundtrack) and at least for how i play the game - no matter what without fail i almost always go to the terminal before starting the level - i already have al the guns unlocked and ive read over the entries on enemies countless times, yet i still always without fail at least stop by it for a few seconds before i start the level

id like to think v1 is attracted to music of all kinds - while it may have a preference on what itll actively listen to - it'll still always seek out sources of music if it hears any

this takes me to 6-2. when gabriel starts playing the organ - it feels like its a call for v1 - whether Gabriel knew it or not - he was actively asking it to come to him (yes, i know he also verbally told him that - but just go with me here okay? im insane about these guys)

Gabriel and V1 already have a calling to each other - neither of them know it. but something in the world and hell made it so those two would meet. that theyd fight. and that everything would happen

Talia Al Ghul in Azrael (1995) Issue 30

Azrael fights a man named Bimmu who was hired by Ra's Al Ghul to fake kidnap Talia in the same way he had done in her second appearance (See Batman: Tales of the Demon, part one) to see if he would be a worthy heir

For extra context him and Talia has met earlier in the comic in the desert then again in Azrael Issue 29 where she had told Jean-Paul that since their meeting she had dreamt about him and claimed that in her culture they believe that some people are bound to be together from the moment the universe is created and that's what she believes that Jean-Paul is for her

Back to issue 30, Talia tells Azrael that her father had engaged her twice before. She tells him that one was a brute, referring to Bane (see Bane of the Demon), and that the other was magnificent, referring to Batman.

They kiss and Azrael tells her his backstory after which Ra's enters the room

Later they go to a graveyard and Azrael tells Talia that he accepts Ra's Al Ghuls offer to become his heir and marry Talia when Ra's enters again and tells Azrael that he rescinds the offer because after testing his DNA they found that Jean-Pauls blood contains animal genes and Ra's wants his future grandson to be genetically perfect

Ra's sick's Bimmu on him again and Azrael is restrained, Talia asks if she can say goodbye and in doing so kisses him and tells him not to open his mouth afterwards

Azrael is put into a vat of acid and only had about a minute before said acids begins to eat through his suit, he's able to escape because when Talia kissed him she put the key to the chains binding him into his mouth

Azrael escapes and Ra's and Talia are gone.
