Another video game has emotionally devastated me? Of course

I finished Banishers: Ghost of New Eden last night and it was a rough one. I was fully prepared for my feelings to get all over everything but that didn’t stop it from hurting! It was a really great story. I’m already looking forward to another play through to wrap up a couple achievements and get another ending. Highly recommend playing!

Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...

I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character. So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)

SO... If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?

(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)

Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?

his body interacting with the waking world differently now due to his possession and connection to the fade. it being the reason for why he has no reflection and a sensitivity to the sun and silver, specifically. holy water burning as well. how he can walk silently even in full armor. how he can cross distances in a short time like cole ( teleport, basically ). his body feeling heavier than it actually is ( something something two entities residing in one body something something ).

I know the focus is (understandably) on Aemond and Luke, but what about the other boys? Three-year-olds bruise easily, and Jace should be black and blue all over, but somehow no one minds them?

There are three badly beaten children, and Alicent insists on mutilating one of them further, even though they visibly had a pretty good reason to defend themselves?

Rhaenyra would have none of that, but insisted that Prince Aemond should be questioned “sharply” until he revealed where he had heard her sons called “Strongs.” To so name them, of course, was tantamount to saying they were bastards, with no rights of succession … and that she herself was guilty of high treason.

I've seen people arguing Rhaenyra means to torture Aemond. Being "questioned sharply" suggests that, but let's be realistic- he's the ruling King's son. Considering Viserys' personality she wouldn't expect more than stern talking-to. And it's not like that would change her step-borthers' minds, I'd guess it's more about making another statement.

To re-assure Rhaenyra of her and her children's position that was questioned by such prevailing rumours. Position that certainly wasn't cemented by her forced re-location to Dragonstone. Viserys half-succeeds in that, as is his custom.

When pressed by the king, Prince Aemond said it was his brother Aegon who had told him they were Strongs, and Prince Aegon said only, “Everyone knows. Just look at them.” King Viserys finally put an end to the questioning, declaring he would hear no more. No eyes would be put out, he decreed … but should anyone—“man or woman or child, noble or common or royal”—mock his grandsons as “Strongs” again, their tongues would be pulled out with hot pincers.

His Grace further commanded his wife and daughter to kiss and exchange vows of love and affection, but their false smiles and empty words deceived no one but the king. ... ... but Viserys failed to support Rhaenyra resolutely, by keeping Alicent in capitol, fully aware it means Nyra won't follow there. An indisputable Heir should be a part of everyday working of government. Just look at how many served as the Hand! He even considers that particular option later, so on some level he has to understand that:

The governance of the realm was a daunting task; the king needed a strong, capable Hand to shoulder some of his burdens. Briefly he considered sending for Princess Rhaenyra. Who better to rule with him than the daughter he meant to succeed him on the Iron Throne? But that would have meant bringing the princess and her sons back to King’s Landing, where more conflict with the queen and her own brood would have been inevitable.

Historians agree the seeds of The Dance were sown when Aemond lost an eye, I'll add Rhaenyra- although unaware- asked her father to stop it. She wanted him to stand by her once and for all, when the hatred for her and hers caused the first unnecesary bloodshed.

I think Laura shares your feelings, not a big spoiler but she spends most of the fight muttering “I hate her / I hate her so much” and you can see in her expression that is absolutely true

I mean, just in-character, Imogen probably hates Delilah more than anyone living, dead, or fictional bc she's possessing/corrupting Imogen's gf so that's fair. xD (and iirc, back when Delilah made her reappearance for VM in the Vecna stuff, she seemed to have it out extra for Vex, the new Lady of Whitestone so she's been a huge pain for Laura across a couple campaigns now :P)

We're moving into "How many times do we have to teach you a lesson kill you, old (wo)man?" territory and that's just always annoyed me wrt to villains

Banishment was probably the best possible solution that Rick could have done. Logically she knew that the others wouldn't be as kind to her as he had been if they found out what she had done just to protect her family. She would have done it again. There was a small shred of regret in the back of her head, but it was always justified that she would do anything to keep them safe.

Even if it hadn't helped in the end. It had been weeks and she had lingered around the prison until she finally decided it was probably best to move on. The van full of supplies had lasted her well over the weeks, but it was starting to dwindle. It was a good thing she had learned a lot about survival in her time with Rick and the others. She still had plenty of bullets in her guns, but she had the foresight to ask Daryl to teach her how to use a bow.

She still had a lot to learn. It was still early on in the apocalypse. Her survival instinct, however, was high. She knew that she either needed to be accepted back or find a new community to survive fully. People were a resource after all.

What she didn't expect was to come across a massive walled settlement. Of course she had remained hidden in the dark, coated in walker blood while she walked around the entire perimeter just to gauge how big it was. A lot of her other supplies were back at her small camp hidden away. Weapons...well, she had buried them nearby in case she had use of them later. All she had was her handgun tucked in her pants under her filthy top and the knuckle knife at her hip.

Not a lot of women going in and out she noted. Possibly dangerous, but with supplies dwindling she was bordering on desperate. Men, she had come to find, were the most dangerous of all. Especially towards women. Still, she had a distinct advantage of, in her opinion, being pretty plain and ordinary looking. Her premature gray hair made her appear much older than she actually was. Stress was a hell of a drug. She was small and thin and assumed weak immediately by most everyone. Well, most everyone except the people who knew her well.

If it was her choice she would be completely unarmed, but that would be suspicious of her. Everyone was armed in this new world. She stumbled up to the gates with her hands up, shaking a little. She wasn't completely without fear...because she knew how bad this could go. Still, it was a leap she had to make to try and survive.

"Don't shoot! If...If anyone's in there! Please god...let there be people in there! Please help me!" She added on to the fear by having her eyes whip back and forth like she was on high alert for the undead. She knew she was safe. She had made sure there weren't any walkers nearby before she shouted. The gore all over her just added that she had been desperate to remain safe.
