maybe it's space curating bc i definitely see the mike side as the higher volume/frequency, i mean most times theres discourse it's bc someone poking at the will preference. like with the polls anons this week that only happened bc an anon said bratty btm mike was obvious and "at most" btm leaning switch, but stating it as fact not opinion. all preferences are opinion for the reasons you said, we only see them until 14 and havent seen their sex life. usually anything else said is just response to the first rudeness, or thats what i see. theres an acc on here who used to comment on btm will fics calling for btm mike instead which i think is very rude for fandom. theres accs on here blatantly posting on the public dash how people who don't prefer subby btm mike are crazy and even not as smart for not seeing it. how is that not rude? then the multiple times spicy polls anons have been rude instead of just sending asks about their preference for mike and making the experience better for themselves. did you see the polls anon that said something and added "anyway btm mike >>>" months ago? i dont think i've seen that from a btm will? i tried really hard to think if i had! but it's those kinds of behavior we dont need amongst us bc no one is better. i follow lots of spicy bylers and havent seen that from btm will or switch bylers, they just post about their preference. i've made moots with people who came from twitter who said it would happen there too, they'd respond to rudeness for not "getting" sub mike and suddenly are the bad guys. so they got tired by the behavior and stopped being active. maybe your dash is more peaceful but i dont see will sides of things saying things until prompted. or with every right to offer an opinion to what was said bc this is a public space. i'm surprised you've seen more for the opposing side? tbh you will have people who are extra who are rude in every side of a ship preference but the 'frequency' to me has been the mike side. i was annoyed when i saw the bratty anon on spicy polls bc i knew it was going to start more annoying discourse that means nothing. how are they shocked people don't share the same preference? thats normal in fandom. you'd have to be new to fandoms to be shocked

anon I unfortunately think this is just a case of you not seeing the rudeness on the other side because you agree with the stance. especially with the sentiment of people not being as smart for not seeing it - that’s like, a pretty pervasive topic in the sfw side of our fandom as far as will goes.

the ao3 comment thing is obviously rude so i’m with you on that.

it could definitely be that i just don’t follow or see posts like that, though i do follow some really kind people with bottom mike prefs. i’ll take your word for it, but i guess i’d say that even the “anyway bottom mike >” posts come across as tongue in cheek, and again, isn’t it okay to share preferences? it’s a little brash, sure, but it shouldn’t be shocking for people to want to express these prefs in the tag, like you said.

i’m saying all this with a pretty clear preference for bottom will, too, so it’s always a little surprising to me that others don’t see it because it’s not like i’m biased. but it’s just always felt obvious to me that bottom mike fans are the minority in the fandom - think about the reason you haven’t seen any of the asks of similar nature for bottom will in spicybylerpolls. there’s no need for it lmao - and it just takes one annoying comment, likely from an anon or someone not active in the fandom (that the op probably made without even thinking) to get 10 people to come to it’s defense with think pieces galore about the canon validity. sure, they have every right to comment on what was said but there shouldn’t be such a big need for defense, i guess?

have you thought about the possibility that theyre likely just experiencing fandom a little differently than you and (other than the ao3 comment thing) are not intending to invalidate you or be rude to you?

even with the recent anon sharing how surprised they were to find that more people didn’t see mike as a bottom, i get how it could come across as invalidating if they weren’t coming from a place of clearly knowing theyre in the minority of opinions. imagine someone saying that around the dinner table with friends. its funny, its a differing take, sure its a little over confident but it’s not rude to anyone - even with an opposing outlook myself i think it sparks fun conversation when someone else is shocked theyre the odd one out. i’m more curious than offended. i may be naive and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but this is often the tone i perceive when i see pro bottom mike posts. i think they’re pretty aware of what the common opinion is.

this is similar to how i feel when i see “where are the bottom mike fics/poll questions/etc? i’m tired of bottom will” again, same situation, if a friend said this in a group of bottom will fans, it doesn’t come across to me as being actually upset and wanting to silence us, it’s just: silly. there’s that surprise of “am i really the only one who didn’t go crazy over [insert xyz thing that mike did in the show], where are my people?” and i think they’re entitled to do so. just as people with our preference are over things we saw in the show. bottom will fans already have their people, it was the default when the polls started. i guess thats all i’m saying.

from my now 1.5 years on the nsfw side, it seems like there’s always going to be an assumption from someone that people sharing opinions about a more subby mike are being spiteful, rude, or trying to be divisive.

you say no one is better, but seem to have a very low tolerance for posts about bottom mike. having the preference is okay, but only if they come with the perfect angelic attitude about it. i’d say we don’t hold the same standard for bottom will posters - and it makes sense that you’re not gonna perceive a (pretty consistent) negative, superior attitude if you’re nodding along to the sentiment.

I have 14, although it certainly feels like more bc i have compilations of drabbles

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

I have 111.881 words.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

As of right now, I'm only writing for 911, but I used to write for spn, suits and the mcu. the only one of those i see myself going back to is spn, the others are long gone obsessions.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Yes, I respond to them all! Im pretty sure ive missed some along the years tho.

i feel like i have only one with an angsty ending and its bc i used to think they all had to have a happy ending dfghjjhgfg anyway, its my latest one Not your fault (but mine)

sometimes but its not a lot. sometimes id write something unrealistic within the rules of the AU and they would criticize me but i usually just took it as cc.

Yes ma'am, a lot LMAOO. I have written pretty much anything, including watersports (which are not my thing but i had it as a request). Only thing ive never written is r*pe or cnc, and skat. no thank uuu.

i dont believe i have. i wrote a foursome once but they were all from the same world.

Not a fic per se, but an idea.

Yes! One time to russian and one time to spanish. i felt really authory FGHJHGH. literally felt like i had made it lmaoo.

I had a big project with one of my mcu friends from back in the day but we never did it.

i think destiel and buddie. they’ve been my roman empire.

It was a high school AU for the mcu. i loved it so, but i dont really enjoy the mcu anymore and i just dont have it in me.

I think im very good at descriptions of both place and thoughts. i feel like i used to be really good at smut bc i would write so much of it lmao. i hope i still got it.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Finishing something, for once. wrapping up is also really hard. happy endings that dont feel like a low budget romantic movie (im a rejection-aro bro lmao).

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Well spanish is quite easy bc its my mother language. other than that, if its not one of the 8 i speak, then i wouldnt feel comfortable unless i have someone fluent helping me (not google).

i wanna say spn (destiel) but i never posted it bc it wasnt very good (i was 15 and my english wasnt as good as it is rn), but i did end up posting a destiel fic this year (my first!): The way it should've been

okay so my favorite fic so far is the Prince AU (buddie), which i havent finished nor posted. i literally have written 2 chapters of it but its just... my baby. now posted posted i think its the one i just linked in the prior question. i just love the way i portrayed each of the character's thoughts.

i do sometimes, im usually tired from writing and editing so sometimes ill just say thanks lol

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

i wrote a fic anonymously which is horrendously dark and doesnt have a happy ending but I think most other fics i write at least have a bittersweet or happy ending hdfgb

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

uhhhhhh i dunno man I like the ending of the fic i wrote where goemon threatens to cut one of jigen's exes' dicks off and then they go hang out by the pool. that was fun :)

7. Do you write crossovers?

not really, I've had a few ideas for them but they're hard to write and wouldnt have worked out

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

not... really? i got a really weird backhanded compliment where someone talked at length about a ship i dont like (the fic wasnt about that couple) then said the first chapter was alright apart from being painfully slow (thanks) and then accused me of virtue signalling because of the difficult topics i handled in the fic.

It was really, really strange like I genuinely think they were trying to pay me a compliment but they were incredibly shit at it lol

And then in another fic I turned off comments because a minor started bitching at me about the porn I wrote not being sexy enough and when I told them to go away they harassed me for a little while. That was fun.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yeas. I prefer it when smut is incorporated into the story because I kind of need the emotional stakes to be high enough otherwise I kind of lose interest. Smut without feelings is just kinda boring to me. Of course I have some exceptions but those are rare nowadays.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes, though it's on wattpad apparently so I have no idea if the person doing it credited me because I dont use that site lol.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

yeah and I dont recommend it. we only wrote like 2 chapters of it but i no longer speak to the co-author and the whole thing ended up feeling a bit disjointed and weird.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Uhh I have a couple, zoro/luffy, ace/sanji, jigen/lupin and jigen/goemon

zolu probably wins here because i have not so far written a 200k fic about anyone else lol

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I don't know whether its bad or just handled badly by a lot of writers but I don't like it. Speaking as someone whos been learning japanese for the past 2+ years I hate it when I come across a word and have to either look it up myself or scroll to the bottom of the fic for any footnotes there are to explain it. Gonna use myself as an example for how I go about this kind of thing:

Fujiko tries to smile at his robotic, overly formal speech patterns, when really it's a little off-putting. She hasn't heard anyone use the word sessha, 'my humble self', for themselves outside of a period drama.

each to their own but i prefer putting in a small aside like this rather than shoving in foreign words and expecting for the reader to go and break the flow of the writing by looking it up for themselves.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

id say pokemon mystery dungeon but the first fic i wrote i instantly deleted after getting one negative comment, i think one piece is more where i cut my teeth

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

At the moment dpxdc, but I have projects for DP in progress. I have some really old Inuyasha stuff, and Twilight, and a Gravity Falls fic that I def will continue? but mostly dpxdc :D

5. Do you respond to comments? why/why not?

I usually do the week when I post a fic, but i stop after that period of time. I don't respond mostly because I dont know what to say... I love each and every comment!!! I just get nervous.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmmmm, I'd say What could have been. It's a DP fic from Phic Phight 2022 and the prompts I used weren't necessarily angst material, but I tied them together in a story meant to leave you empty.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I don't do "happy" endings? I think I do "realistic" endings - main quest is conquered but we lost and gained things in the way.

I do write a lot of fluff and unapologetic one shots, so I would consider all of those "happy" endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Yes.

Fortunately is not a normal event in my fics, but now that I have dipped my toes in comic book fanfiction I've gotten my fair share of purists and know-it-alls that come to my comments to educate me on what it's "canon" and explain to me how my interpretation is wrong.

That aside, I'm not afraid to portray "problematic" ships and delicate situations ,mainly mental health stuff. I'm not the first or the last person that pour themselves in their writing and use fictional characters as a medium to work on some personal things. Of course that's gotten me enough comments telling me how disgusting I am and how I'm writing XYZ wrong.

9. Do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Yes. I don't have a lot posted, but I have WIPs.

Mostly BDSM and how important it is to trust your partner.

10. Do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one?

Mostly DPxDC!

I did have an insane crossover between Twilight and a book not a lot of people know. TBH im keeping that information to myself xd.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes.

There's a russian website that reposts fics.

And also people reposting my stuff in wattpad with a "credits to the author [name]" but they never asked me for permission.

Yes! I'm co-writing a fic with some close friends and my girlfriend. And another fic with just my girlfriend, but I'm so slow with it lmao

I've been told that my characters feel very real and that I write dynamics in a very organic way. In romance, I think I'm very good at portraying falling in love.

In general I've also been told I describe things in a way you can feel it, like you really are there.

17. writing weaknesses?

English is not my native language and I make a lot of mistakes, grammar wise. Or I let my weird miss matched speech patterns bleed into my characters and make them sound not quite right.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

Again, I'm native Spanish speaker, so I do write in English regularly xd

Other languages, I'd need someone that speaks that language to help me.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

Inuyasha. I was about 11 years old. Those fics were written in Microsoft Word 2003, in script format (aka "theater" format), and every character had an assigned color and I would switch colors every dialogue line.

Difficult to choose.

I like Scar a lot. I like exploring him wearing a very cheery mask while having so much complexity in him (trauma from life series, especially) and hiding parts of himself that might hurt other in order to make them continue to smile. Its a fun thing to explore too…

✅ What's something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don't mean to?

… cuddling. I think its because i often think about the blorbos before sleep LMAO

Apparently it surprises people to know ive only written fic for two years. I only have like. Okay i just checked and technically i have 16 works. But a lot of those are ficlets. Idk. My main projects all have people taking care of each other and cuddling before sleeping (specifically: sam and ponk flirt their way through self imposed exile, local las nevada slime feels greener than usual, square peg, grians involuntary holiday at skullcrusher mountain)

(… i have some sort of theme with naming these dont i…)

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

I mean… the other day someone commented on gihasm saying that boys should really learn how to cook. So i just responded with “i mean they used to have a cook in the house but he got arrested.”

I used to have close to 300 but I deleted or orphaned a lot of them (especially the 5 sentence prompts which were like 50 lmao) and some I was just not liking or felt I could've done better or felt like I could add it to another fic instead.

Happiest oof...hmm Soul Meets Body where Bucky and Steve get reunited after Bucky gets trapped in the soul stone and they retire? Or the gallavich one where Ian wakes up and Mickey never got arrested (post s5) and they're good.

I have a lot more but those are usually just fluff oneshots not a whole story

I think I've only technically done one. It was where Mickey gets attacked by a Djinn and basically ends up seeing the mickey version of what Dean saw in the Supernatural episode "What is and What Should Never Be". If I recall Sam and Dean saved him.

oh and the She's the Man Fic I don't remember if it had characters from the movie or not though lmaoo but maybe. I'll have to reread

Oh yes. Usually they didn't like where I went with it. (even though i'd make it obvious). Accuse me of not knowing the characters. And that one person that got mad me and @bellafarella made lip too "likeable" ?? weirdos. Always had issues with the shameless fandom with giving nasty comments tbh.

It depends. As long as it's in character and the correct way for it to be typed. Otherwise I'd put "says in ___ " or what not

“Man I feel horrible” you say as you settle down beside Venti after your week long excursion into the Mondstat wilds. Venti had things to do so you went on your adventure by yourself

“Did you get hit or something?” the bard asks gesturing you to shuffle to your side so he can give you a shoulder rub

“Not more than normal no” you respond, you flinch back when Venti’s hands finally reach your back “That was weird, like uncomfortable” you comment. The bard holds his hands up in mostly mock hurt

“Did I hurt you?” he asks, you shake your head

“No, it just felt really uncomfortable you know...” you trail off into thought “Oh now that I think on it, I did eat some Valberries” Venti blinks at you a few times

“And you’re feeling averse to touch?” he asks furrowing his brows “Why’d you eat them anyway? They’re aphrodisiacs” he adds trying to work out what’s happening

“What? Really?” you question earning a nod from your boyfriend, you shuffle back around so your back is on the seat “I see Lisa eat those things all the time so I thought they were safe.” you add before realising your words “Why is Lisa eating them in that case?” you question

“I don’t think we want to know” Venti offers trying his best not to think about the question, “If you’re feeling averse does that mean no touching until it wears off?” Venti asks with a pout, you nod

“I suppose so”

The three days are pain for Venti, he has to stop himself from giving you unexpected hugs, he can’t kiss you, you don’t even sleep in the same bed as him because he’s so prone to hugging you when you sleep. But, as much as you’ve tried to do these things you feel a little sick, and sometimes a little in pain. Archons forbid that Venti even brings up the idea of sex amongst all this, you’ve tried to keep your mind off the still unanswered question but it creeps in whenever Venti gives you desperate glances from across the couch.

Venti finds himself accidently touching you, be it on your back as you’re cooking, nudges with his knee as you sit close to each other, or even brushing his hand with yours to hold before he remembers he can’t. It makes you think about how the two of you are constantly touching in some way, you can’t think of a day where at some point you haven’t just lead yourself down on him.

And in all seriousness you miss the touch. As much as Venti showers you in affection you somehow find yourself even more touch starved than usual, despite the fact it makes you feel ill. You feel a little lonely as you sleep because you’re not reassured by the presence of your boyfriend. You hope this wears off before you actually become too touch averse.

“Checkmate, I win” Venti grins as he knocks down your queen, you pout at him.

“New game” you huff “I am determined to beat you” you chuckle as you both set up the chess board once more

“I feel like my ten win advantage means you’d have to beat me a lot” Venti teases with a wink, you stick your tongue out playfully

“I am going to become the best chess player before this aphrodisiac wears off” you jest with a laugh, Venti laughs alongside you before the two of you start playing your game.

“Checkmate!” you exclaim knocking down Venti’s queen. You grin at him “I told you I would win” you add, Venti smiles at you

Maybe if he can’t kiss you to make you feel better, he’ll sway the game just a little bit to give you a little advantage

“Damn” he jests “Just when I was about to win” he fake weeps causing the both of you to laugh once more

“What? No” you jest “I swept the board with you” you add with a chuckle.

The two of you banter over the next few games continues before the two of you notice Lisa and Jean doing their evening rounds.

“The two of you are usually on top of each other. Something happen?” Lisa asks as she directs herself and Jean to walk towards the two of you. You smile and hum

“I’m feeling a little ill and my stubborn boyfriend insists that he stays near” you lie with a smile

“Oh you poor thing” Lisa sympathises putting a hand on your shoulder, you try your best not to flinch at the contact “I hope it passes over soon” she comforts before the two walk off again

“I’m surprised you didn’t ask her about the valberries” Venti comments with a slight chuckle

“In front of Jean?” you ask with a quirk of your brow, the bard nods and you try not to laugh at the absurdity “I feel like if Jean found out other people know about what she and Lisa do in the bedroom would be a little embarrassing for her” you explain

“Oh so you have an idea of what she does with the valberries?” Venti half teases, you roll your eyes but nod after a few moments. Venti giggles at you

“I just want these ones to wear off though” you sigh, Venti smiles at you

“It’s okay sweet” he comforts “I bet in a month we’ll laugh at this like a good joke” he adds, you nod and sigh again

“I hope so” you pout

That evening was supposed to be date night, and the two of you decided to go through with the idea, a nice picnic at starsnatch cliff. The two of you sit opposite eachother and eat your food, there’s a light, happy conversation between the two of you.

About the time it gets a little chilly is usually the time you huddle up together with Venti to watch the sunset, but as much as you natural instinct is to curl up with him you have to stop yourself.

He does pass you his cape though which you suppose is the best that you can do right now. And it does smell like him so you guess it’s almost like a hug.

“The stars are bright tonight” you comment looking up, you hear Venti hum in agreement

“Not as beautiful as you~” he teases and the both of you laugh. The two of you often mock the cliché lines that lovers often mutter under the stars. And while the two of you often mock it there lies a certain truth behind the words.

As immortal as Venti is, and mortal you are. The fact he chose you amongst the crowd is like choosing a star amongst the sky.

“I love you Venti” you comment looking over to the bard who’s smiling at you

“And I to, my love” he nods keeping his smile

The valberries only last about half a day longer. And in all honesty, the first thing you do after they wear off is just hug the bard for a good while.

While you may have been with him this whole time, you truly did miss his comfort

As for the Jensen and J*red thing.

I can see Jensen not telling J*red even if they are still friends, because J*red is kinda good at accidentally telling Secrets. He could have told him right before he announced it so, so that J*red didn't have to find out from twitter. He was on the show for 15 years, he is bound to get asked about it. The public twitter meltdown was really unprofessional so. Like you have Jensen's number J*red. You could have sorted that out in private like a normal person, but instead you choose to act like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Is it weird that I'm actually going to be kinda that for them if the actually had a falling out, even tho I don't like J*red all that much. They seemed to be really important to each other and while I thought before that the might have triefted apart a bit, I didn't think that the where actively fighting.

the thing is, the polite/normal thing for jensen to do was text him before announcing it on twitter. it's weird he didn't, and that makes me believe that maybe yeah they did have a falling out. especially with the way j*red responded to it on twitter. if he had no other reason to be this upset (no prior beef or falling out) you'd think that he wouldn't be responding like this. on the other hand, the man is a mysterie to me so who the hell knows. i'm not gonna mourn about it if they did/do grow apart because j*red is just.... awful imo.

Now im not gonna say 'dont feel bad pls' bc I know that's not really useful but what I do think is useful is just discussing why that anon and many others feel the need to respond that way. As someone who follows a lot of writing blogs myself and have done for a long time, i've seen my handful of favourite writers come and go for different reasons, lose motivation for a while, gain motivation for a while, go from multi to single fandom, or single fandom to multi. Often times as a reader it can be upsetting when things change but it's also important as a reader to understand that some things aren't in anyone's control, I can't control what my favourite writers become a fan of or lose interest of, I can't control things in their personal lives that may motivate or demotivate them to write, but what I can do is support them as long as they're active, and if they move on to do things i'm no longer interested in or i'm the one that changed interests, rather than being upset that they're evolving to do other things or that they're not evolving with me, I think it's important that I still feel thankful for the works that I enjoyed while we were still on the same page and this is how I personally deal with those negative feelings. I think the anons that lash out at you probably just dont know what to do with themselves, maybe they got attached to your works while you were still only a jjba blog and now that you're evolving they're upset, while I understand how they feel, they're going the completely wrong way about it. I've learned to take these things and turn them into something positive for myself or at least something bittersweet that I can move on from but the anons that lash out at you for whatever reason probably haven't learned this yet. Maybe it's because i've moved on and changed interests a lot myself that I know how these things go for both writers and readers but those anons maybe haven't experienced this as much so they dont know what to do with themselves other than complain that you've changed and throw insults at you in an attempt to get you to revert back. None of this is because of the quality of your writing like they want you to believe, it's literally just because you've evolved and while some of your old followers might not like the new content for no reason other than it not being their cup of tea, it's definitely not regressed at all. You are pumping out a lot of content right now but every single thing i've read has just been better than the last. Things that really stand out to me is how well you get characterisation down to a T and all of your dialogue is just on point and from the pov of a reader I think those things seem the hardest to get right so I am such a huge fan of your stuff at the moment and I can tell you're really putting so much thought and care into each and every fic no matter how fast you're producing it, I think the fact that you're also proud of what you're writing at the moment really shines through as well and I just adore the passion that radiates from every completed request as well as in the responses for the subsequent thirsts resulting from these works that appear in your ask box later (I know i've sent quite a few by now~)

Just to be clear i'm not defending those anons in any way, while I can understand what they might be feeling/why they're reacting in the way they are I still believe it's just so immature to be hateful online point blank. Even during a time where I still got upset with writers if they started doing something else I still never targeted that negativity directly to the writer and sending rude or hateful comments whether on anon or not never something i'd stooped low enough to do even when I still had an immature way of thinking, however, I hope that it might make it a little easier to brush them off if we try and understand what they're really upset about, and that they're just putting the blame for their negative feelings onto the wrong thing rather than coming to terms with change themselves.

hello anon!! i appreciate the long message. i do feel bad for people who have no interest in what i’m currently producing and i get that they feel upset about it; i’ve watched a lot of fellow jojo writers move on completely or just stop posting, honestly. this kind of thing is why i was so intense about asking people if it would be better if i made a separate blog but the resounding answer seemed to be ‘i’m just vibing with whatever happens and i’ll block tags as needed’.

i often return to works by my favourite reader-insert writers who no longer write for the fandoms i like (and i read stuff bc it sounds interesting or i trust the person who writes it), but change can be difficult and i guess at this point i’ve - whether u like me or not lmao - been a fixture in jojo reader-insert tumblr for a While so it’s probably kind of jarring.

girl stoppp that's such a mood. you should see my drafts. recently i wrote the phrase "in the barn" three times all in the same sentence, it made me cackle. while writing I jus let the spirit flow thru me...... and then i edit like a madwoman to make sure that it's not chickenscratch gobbledygook because it often is at first. lmao i'm not always as well-spoken as people seem to think.

i think that the awkwardness is actually essential! especially since it's their first time. but like i was saying earlier about liking things to be realistic: when having sex, soemtimes you accidentally get trapped in an awkward angle, or slip and smack your partner in the face. it's messy and wet and sweet and funny, and my goal is for my writing to reflect that.
