Peter met you in school

He got assigned to sit next to you in history

You were drawing,not really paying attention to the class

He kinda was just tapping his pen awkwardly trying to think of a good conversation starter

Ends up blurting out something really randome like:

'Hey, did you know that barnacals have the largest dicks relative to their size?'

He practically dies inside

He hurriedly tries to back track,stumbling over his words

Then you just look up from your drawing,raising an eyebrow at him, nodding slowly

Peter just stays quiet for half the period then he decides to ask what your drawing

You turn the sketch book around to show him Darth Vader

Cue to both of you fangirling over Star Wars

After a while you guys started hanging out at breaks with Harry and MJ

The both of you have the kind of friendship where you'll say randome facts about stuff completely out of then blue

Finally the team gets so annoyed with the constant yapping that they don't bother asking Peter if he likes you, they tell him

You already knew you like him but was just waiting for the right time to ask him out

The next day after class you both confess at the same time

It was really awkward but wholsome

Miles had come over to hangout with you in the cafeteria and was currently talking your ear off about Ghostbusters

As annoying as his constant banter was the plot was quite interesting

You were always getting into fights with everyone but you found him just that little bit more tolerable

Miles also liked hanging out with you even though you frightened him a bit

But after awhile he began to not really be bothered by you

Soon he decided to ask Peter for some advice on what he was feeling

Peter wasn't quite his best decision to go to cos Peter is practically clueless in that category

But after a lot of researching and Google saying he was going to die of a heart condition, both of them found the answer

Ge was in love with you

Ot was a very sweet confection, the poor boy was so nervous

You had no idea about dating

But everything eventually worked out

He met you at SHIELD

And yes you were 13 the same age as Amadeus

You were a botanist like your parents so you were able to work in the labs

Amadeus might be the 7th smartest person in the world but plants were just not his thing

So when he found some new plant based material on patrol he asked you for help

It turns out he wasn't as much as a prick as everyone else said he was

But he was still annoying

After a couple of days he was becoming a bit less of a dick then before

After a couple of weeks the prodject was finished

He kept on finding reasons to go back to your lab and the relationship began

None of you guys actually said it, it kinda just happened

So like who knows you could just be really good friends who shares a lab and custody of a goldfish

Scarlet was on patrol when he saw a creepy dude with a gun go into the cafe you were working at

By the time he got there he saw you judo flip the guy

So he just sat back and watched the show

Once you were done with him, he webbed the guy up, staring at you suspiciously

'What? Did ya think I couldn't protect myself just because I have no powers?' You asked

'Did I say that, punk?' He muttered, glaring harder

You rolled your eyes at his attitude, giving him a hot chocolate

Once he left he had to say you peeked his interest

So when aunt May was having a bit of trouble finding where to go to for lunch he suggested the cafe you worked at

May noticed that he was staring at you more than he did at other people so made sure to go there more often

Sometimes he even goes there without May

He begins to go there almost every day so that he can see you

He starts to talk to you and and become somewhat friends

After awhile he confide in May

She was so excited that he was interested in someone

So when he decided to confess he was a blushing mess

You got what he was getting at and said yes

Oh Ben has DEFINITELY killed someone. At least ONE person. I can't imagine that Hydra or Ock didn't use him for their personal missions before sending him off to infiltrate the Academy, and I'm positive they had no qualms with him killing. Considering Ben has been with them since he was created, I'd think he has no real qualms about killing either.

As for the Web Warrior's finding out, I can imagine they find out while telling funny stories about missions they've been on, and bad guys they've fought, and Ben just randomly recounts the time he punched a guy so hard their head explodes and it's a mixed back of responses XD Nobody expected that

Spiderverse Rant

So.. I’ve been seeing people talk about Ultimate Spider-Man (The cartoon one, not the comic one) being in Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse.

I highly doubt that whichever Spider-Man that was, it wasn’t USM Peter. I believe if it was USM Peter, he would’ve had a cameo like Spectacular Spider-Man, since USM Peter traveled the multiverse multiple times.

And I highly doubt he would be against Miles, I personally believe he would help Miles. So I hope in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse, we see the Spider-Gang pop up in USM and USM Spider-Man and the Web-Warriors help the Spider Gang. I would even be done to see MSM2017 Spider-Man and his Web-Warriors helping out as well.

And yes, I was highly disappointed to see Spectacular Spider-Man be completely fine with letting people die just because a computer said so. Like how do we know Lyla ain’t algorithm created by the TVA or even Kang to keep everything in check.

Like, I don’t know what’s Marvel and Sony’s situation right now, but with Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars coming up, and even all the multiverse openings within the MCU. It is literally called “The Multiverse Saga,” so you cannot tell me something isn’t connecting here!

The different Spider-Men (mostly from Into the Spiderverse) as people at a family reunion

Original Spider-Man from Miles’s universe is the dad, Peter B Parker is the queer uncle, Spider Noir is the fresh out of jail aunt who has had like 5 glasses of wine since he got here, Penni is that one cousin who no one can say no to, Miles is the son who is just so done with everything, Spider Ham is the stray that no one really knows how it got here but hey he’s not tearing up the house so it’s fine, Gwen is the friend Miles begged to come along so that he didn’t have to do this alone, Tom Holland Spider-Man is the cousin who just spends the entire time talking to his friends/helping Penni build a Lego set, Tobey Maguire Spider-Man is the uncle who just wants to sleep, Andrew Garfield Spider-Man is the oldest cousin who spends the entire time talking shit about the adults and then goes for a walk and just doesn’t come back but nobodies worried cause he does this every year, and Ultimate Spider-Man Peter is the middle cousin trying to cause as much chaos and drama as he can without getting in trouble

finally watched Across the Spider-Verse and I only have one critique and it's Prowler related (but hopefully it will be addressed in the sequel, idk I will write more thoughts later) but HOBIE BROWN!!! HOLY SHIT he was probably my favorite part of the movie. I love that Hobie got his time to shine - even if I prefer 616-prowler!Hobie Brown, spider-punk is such a fun variation of his character and I loved how easily he bonded with Miles. So fun, so good, ahhh!!!

what do diversity/legacy characters require to be hits?

An interesting question. Three major factors jump out to me as being crucial elements of success, and I'll use the biggest star in Miles Morales to touch on each one.

A high profile creator with clout. Bendis is a crucial element of why Miles stuck around when the rest of the Ultimate Universe died off. He was the hottest creator in comics outside of maybe Geoff Johns during the 2000s. He had written over 100 issues of Peter Parker USM before creating Miles, I believe he holds the record for most issues of Spider-Man ever. He had "earned" the right so to speak to create a replacement, especially one for an alternate universe that he had made himself. And when he left, because he was so valued at Marvel, editorial made sure Miles continued to be taken care of rather than stripping him of the Spider-Man mantle, or dropping him entirely like his Champion peers. Other creators at DC recently have tried to mimic Miles, Ridley with Jace Fox Batman, Taylor with Val-Zod, the push for Jo, even the recent push for Nubia, but none of them had the same level of clout to pull it off.

Room to stand out - Another major factor is, how big already is the "family" this character is meant to join? Miles was lucky, despite Spider-Man's popularity Marvel hadn't tried to create a "Spider-Family" before moving him to 616. You had Mayday in MC2, Kaine as Scarlet Spider doing his own thing in Houston, the occasional attempt at a 616 Spider-Girl, however Spider-Woman was never connected beyond the name. Marvel preferred to keep Peter solo as part of their attempts to keep him young. Miles changed that, suddenly Peter had a peer living in the same city as he did. Since Peter and Miles were the only two "main" Spiders, Miles got to be the Nightwing of the Spider-Family, the clear #2 guy who might one day take over for Peter as #1. If there were already 5 other Spider-Men, I doubt Miles would have achieved success.

An actual untapped fanbase - Marvel and Spider-Man in particular have always had a strong black fanbase. Most blerds I knew growing up preferred Marvel to DC because of Spider-Man and the X-Men. Miles tapped into that fanbase which always existed and was excited to see themselves represented. John Stewart briefly tapped into something similar when the JL cartoon aired, his powerset, adventures, and background were fairly unique for a black character at the time. While Marvel had plenty of black heroes most were street-level whereas John was cosmic tier. That made him stand out, and that he got to have his own romance and plotlines involving Hawkgirl certainly didn't hurt.

With all the discourse about Jefferson Morales nee Davis in the fandom as a result of ITSV, I wanted to talk a little bit about the differences between the original Miles Morales comics in comparison to ITSV (Note: this is not about the current Miles run, where everyone is happy and Jeff is a good dad etc)

In the original USM Miles run, Miles's dad is not the loveable, caring dad we see in the movies. Instead, he's openly hostile/racist(? speciesist? idk what the right term is here) towards mutants and powered people.

Right before she was killed, Rio's last words were "Don't ever let your father know. Don't ever let him--"

When Jefferson found out Miles was Spider-Man...he reacted pretty badly. Granted, there was a giant monster attacking the city and tensions were running high and everyone was freaked out.

And then a few issues later, Miles and Jeff reconcile...wait what?

Yeah.

My issue with this is that it was far too abrupt, considering that a large part of what prevented Miles from revealing his identity to his parents was the fact that his dad was openly discriminatory towards mutants, etc.

What I would've liked to see is a longer grace period of Jefferson grappling with the issue of Miles not being "regular."

In turn, Miles would either take longer to reconcile with him, or just decide not to forgive him at all.

Of course, once Ultimatum happened and Miles got transported to 616, both his parents were restored into a happy family.

In all honesty, I can't figure out if I particularly love or dislike this change, because

a) Miles has a really fun dynamic with his parents when they're getting along, and also HE HAS PARENTS WHO ARE GOOD PEOPLE

b) But on the other hand, a lot of established story opportunities from 1610 canon, where Miles has a fraught relationship with his father, gets thrown out the window.

In short, I believe Miles deserves to be happy with his parents. However, I do think that present canon shouldn't entirely overlook this era of canon, because it's an important example of what happens when a parent doesn't accept that their child is a vigilante-- not because the primary concern is safety, but because they are prejudiced against people with powers that they can't control.

That being said, I(A?B?)TSV, PS4, and 616-canon versions of Jeff and Miles interactions hold a special place in my heart :D

I have SOOO many ideas going on in my head😭😭

I do have a zombie and mermaid fics happening. They’re still being planned out since I want to focus on Call You Mine a lil bit more since its the longest story than the other ones.

Originally, I asked on this account like a yr or two ago and on my personal Instagram account to pick between Vampire or Mermaid. I had two separate fic ideas but Mermaid gotten the most votes since I’m a pretty indecisive person since I liked both of them😭😭. The mermaid one, I plan on having Danny being a merman and Peter being a scientist and teacher with a son that he had with MJ. Both of them will be in their 30s since I love middle aged Peter, we need him more in usm fics❤️❤️ and his son would be a preteen or teenager. I gotten inspired by old Disney’s The Little Mermaid so most likely there’s going to be similarities from the movie and in the merman fic and also gotten inspired by a few Hamilton Musical songs when planning Peter’s character🤔🤔. I like writing Peter out to be a bit of an asshole in my fics since I find him the most relatable and I add a bit of myself in his character too to relate to other readers. I do the same with Danny since he would have a sense of innocence in this fic despite his creepy look. This fic would have a different feel unlike the others since Peter’s POV would sound like report entries about Danny and in a fantasy setting without powers other than Danny. The team, Johnny, and Bobby will be in the story too, for sure they will.

The zombie one is kinda new. It was just a small idea I had when I was watching a The Last of Us playthrough and I just thought of them😭. The story is still in the early stages since I’m still struggling about how Peter’s and Danny’s character will be. I’m debating whether either of them would have a kid to raise but I’m not sure since I have a wide majority of fics having a kid character in them😭. I might have Danny as my next victim of being a parental figure in this fic to change it up but Peter would be a toughie for me to plan his character. Both of them would be interesting POV to write but I feel like writing a dual POV in this fic will be difficult and might be a bit messy and unorganized. Writing out the zombies will be difficult too since I don’t plan this story to be set in a world where they have powers since most likely they wouldn’t survive (no offense to the team😭). It’s still in the early stages unlike the merman fic so I wouldn’t mind some small ideas for this one that yall would want to share.

Another one is a pirate fic😭😭. I originally had everything planned out but I had to change everything last minute. I planned for Danny to be a quiet pirate and even had his relationship with Peter already fleshed out but I had an image of Peter being pirate instead, I liked it better so I changed everything😭😭. A child will be in Peter’s life as well but won’t appear until in the middle of the story. Miles Morales will also be in this story as well as the zombie one(maybe) so HORRAYY🎉🎉🎉 So I’m excited to write him out as well as the team. Danny and Peter’s relationship will be a bit spicy, and few sexual tensions here and there and also a few assassination attempts which is pretty romantic. It has a huge fantasy setting and I’m even planning on creating a map for this fic and will take longer for me tk publish.

I know that someday I will write a fluffy spideytorch fic of them being highschool sweethearts. I’m debating whether they would have powers or not but it’s extremely fluffy and shorter than the other fics. I gotta have my spideytorch fill😔💗.

That’s mainly all the fics that I’m currently planning out.🤔🤔 After the Dark!Danny ask I’m considering of picking up my EvilEmperor!Danny AU with a curious scientist Peter.
