But then again, Bi-Han may not bother at all; with the Mythologies: Sub-Zero's storyline, it seems he is destined for quick type of missions, as in get in, kill and/or steal and get out so I guess, one way or another, not many people will be left alive to tell his real name…

there's always a fair point to be made about people becoming fans of something from a country or culture they don't belong to and then being entitled and not understanding different little cultural contexts and it's always good to think about that and keep that in mind when you're in that position and yeah! You should try to learn and listen when you're the fish out of water! but it will never stop being bizarre to me when i see people just totally towing the line on bizarre shitty ideals because supposedly that's just whats normal in X place, okay? like yes I do enjoy a lot of Asian dramas, no I don't think it's okay to act like an actor having a drug problem or even just. yk. smoking weed for fun is a disgusting and heinous person? and it made me wonder if you had some headcanons about Alastor's background as well! (Like, how his experience as someone of "mixed race"/Creole background from 1920s Louisiana impact his character)

That is a baller post that I read and loved earlier! It has some really thoughtful insights and I highly recommend giving it a read.

That said, I am in no way qualified create headcanons about what it was like for Alastor to live as a mixed person in the American deep south, and I don't think that trying to do so would be wise or decent of me! I try to defer to the perspectives of people with relevant personal insights and opinions, and do my best to synthesize said perspectives into my work where appropriate without overstepping the bounds of what I can reasonably say on the subject! I want to be considerate of what people have to say (ie. not pussyfoot around the subject of Alastor's race like it doesn't exist) about things I otherwise have no fucking clue about while also really not being in the game of speaking over people.

I'm always really interested in what people have to say on the subject of Alastor's race, though, because there are... definitely layers to it, both within the scope of canon and from a meta perspective.

Whenever I see asian, brown, and/or black Americans reinforcing, supporting, and upholding racism, colonization, imperialism, colorism, and any other belief system that not only harms them directly but other non-white communities as well and they still want to claim that they themselves are POC and face discrimination I feel bitter disgust towards them.
