sorry but it’s very funny to see maga idiots splitting with trump and feeling betrayed because he ran on such a huge anti-immigration platform, but now some of his closest high-profile business allies like elon musk are singing the praises of the H-1B skilled worker visa program and talking about how they should remove the cap on certain non-immigrant visa types that they depend on to run their businesses.
like. who’s going to tell them that trump is widely known to staff all his resorts and properties with foreign workers that are here on H-2B seasonal work visas? and that the justification he’s given is that they’re seasonal low wage jobs that don’t appeal to american workers? you know, because he’s not willing to pay a living wage or offer any benefits to make those jobs more appealing and would rather exploit cheap foreign labor for maximum profits.
it’s almost like….the issue isn’t immigration or immigrants “stealing” american jobs, it’s the wealthy owning class being unwilling to sacrifice even a minuscule little sliver of profit to offer fair wages and decent benefits for the work required to keep their businesses operational. but idk. just a thought.

President Trump claimed today that he used the H-1B visa program to hire wine experts, and “high quality waiters and waitresses”
The H-1B visa is a foreign worker visa in the United States that allows U.S. employers to hire foreign workers in so-called specialty occupations. You must have a Bachelors Degree or a specialty in select occupations to be eligible.
Trump basically tells MAGA that they aren’t talented enough to work as wine experts, waiters and waitresses because he used the H-1B visa program to find and hire immigrants instead.

WHAT TO DO AT AN ICE CHECKPOINT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE and/or FEEL THE NEED TO JAM UP THE WORKS.
Here's the deal:
Border Patrol can verify citizenship within 100 miles of a border or "external boundary." This includes coastlines, so NYC, Philadelphia, and all of NJ are within the 100-mile zone.
Border patrol can only ask brief questions about citizenship, and they cannot hold you for an extended time without cause.
You always have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer their questions.
WITH THAT SAID, IF YOU ARE A BORN CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE, YOU NEED TO SPEAK THE FUCK UP.
The most important acts of resistance are the small ones. Make it difficult and uncomfortable for ICE agents to do their jobs. They are counting on citizens to turn a blind eye and allow them to deport undocumented citizens without challenge. Disabuse of that notion.
If you are on a train, bus, or anything else and ICE or CBP boards, you need to stand up and loudly let everyone know that they have the right to remain silent or only answer questions in the presence of an attorney, no matter their citizenship or immigration status. There have been numerous reports that confronting the agents in this way has caused them to leave without verifying citizenship. THIS CAN SAVE LIVES.
If you see anyone being held up by immigration, loudly ask if they are being detained and if they are free to go.
Immigration officers cannot detain anyone without reasonable suspicion, an agent must have specific facts about you that make it reasonable to believe you are committing or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law. If an agent detains you, you can ask for their basis for reasonable suspicion, and they should tell you.
Always say no to a search and let everyone know that they can and should refuse consent to a search.
They cannot search or arrest anyone without facts about that make it probable that they are committing, or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law.
Silence alone meets neither of these standards. Nor does race or ethnicity alone suffice for either probable cause or reasonable suspicion
White citizens, you have a level of privilege which protects us from retaliation from ICE for being "rude" and making a scene, which makes it our DUTY to speak up and make sure people without the same privilege know their rights. GET LOUD. YELL. YELL IN SPANISH IF YOU KNOW IT. LET PEOPLE KNOW THEY DON'T HAVE TO SAY SHIT. MAKE ICE UNCOMFORTABLE. THROW SAND IN THE GEARS OF WHITE SUPREMACY.
 Bonus info-
It is perfectly legal to record immigration agents as long as you are not on government property or at a port of entry. If your train/bus gets boarded, pull your phone out and start videotaping immediately.
If you are detained or see someone getting detained, get the agent's name, number, and any other identifying information. Get it on video if possible.
Contact the ACLU or your local Immigrant/Migrant support orgs if you see someone's rights being violated.

Seeing characters in romance stories just jetting between countries at a moment's notice with no thought for visa; seeing airports as sites of triumphant climaxes and romantic denouements instead of places of fear and danger where a sword hangs above your head— it all breaks off little pieces of my heart. They're constant reminders that my people will never be human enough in the colonial world order to be allowed to move freely around it. No matter what your race, those non-refugees living in the Global North will never understand what it's like to be part of a global ghetto where your passport is nothing but a trembling supplication and humiliation.

"America has spent 40 years screwing over its scientists and engineers using the H1B and DEI scams, with the result that young Americans reasoned - correctly - that they're better off entering the scam economy themselves ('finance') than spending several grueling years training in STEM.
Since you know a few things about the scam economy yourself, I'd expect you to understand that." John Carter, Twitter
"Importing H-1Bs is clearly not the answer. Or perhaps it is actually the issue?
For years, we have been told that we need "high-skilled" foreign workers because Americans somehow lack the necessary qualifications. But when we examine the actual hiring data, a different story emerges. Employers lowered their job standards to justify bringing in foreign workers, requiring less education, less experience, and fewer skills than what they demanded from American applicants. In 81.61% of cases, employers had to relax their hiring criteria to make foreign workers fit the role.
But wait, it gets better. 49.25% of these foreign workers were educated at the same American universities as the Americans you claim are "unqualified." So if education is the issue, why are companies hiring these workers over U.S. citizens who received the same degrees from the same institutions?
Now let’s talk about wages. If these are truly high-skilled workers, then why does wage data tell a different story? Employers classified them as "high-skilled" to justify their hiring, yet 68.12% of the time, they were paid entry-level, low prevailing wages, far below the median salary. Does that sound like "high-skill," or does it sound like cheap labor?
This is not speculation; this is their own data. The Department of Labor provides extensive information on foreign workers’ education, occupations, and wages if you know where to look for it. Yet nowhere in that data is there any proof that these workers possess some extraordinary level of skill that Americans lack. What we do see is a system designed to exploit low-wage labor under the illusion of "innovation."
What some call "hardworking," looks a lot like indentured servitude....a workforce that cannot negotiate wages, cannot change jobs freely, and is wholly dependent on their employer to remain in the country. And who benefits? Not American workers, not the economy, but the corporations that profit from driving down wages and displacing their own citizens.
Vivek, you are absolutely wrong. Either you are incompetent, or you are a corrupt politician who openly prioritizes foreign interests over the American people. The employer sponsored foreign worker data proves it. No more lies. No more excuses. America should be prioritizing Americans first, not outsourcing our future to the lowest bidder."

If Trump abandons the people trying to protect American jobs and fix our broken education and career training systems, it will further look like Musk is in charge.
The predatory billionaires of Big Tech and the foreigners being shipped in to replace us proved how much they distain the American people on Christmas. Our enemies should not be telling us how to run our own country. Americans should come first, and it’s not just the “far right” saying it.

Seriously considering moving to Norway and getting out of this country while I still can before it kills me and everyone I love.
Any Norwegians have any advice? I know I'll need a job and to learn the language (I'm 21 and disabled, so I'm a little nervous about my work options) and I've looked into the moving process a bit, but it still seems really difficult for someone as young and not very far in life as myself.

Eric Trump says US doesn’t ‘give a damn’ about Prince Harry or ‘unpopular’ Meghan Markle: ‘Sad to watch’
By Nika Shakhnazarova Oct. 31, 2024
Eric Trump reckons Prince Harry need not worry about his US visa debacle — because no one in America “gives a damn” about him.
The ex-president’s second son, 40, had some scathing remarks about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, saying it’s “sad to watch” how the pair have “gone off the deep end.”
“Truthfully I don’t give a damn about Prince Harry and I don’t think this country does either,” Trump told the Daily Mail.

“My father loved the Queen and I think the monarchy is an incredibly beautiful thing.”
Trump said that should his father emerge victorious in the Nov. 5 election next week, Harry will not need to worry about being deported from the US.
Tumblr media
“I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing,” he said. “I can tell you that our father and our entire family has tremendous respect for the monarchy.”
Trump’s comments come a month after a judge ruled that the father of two’s visa application is to remain private.
Still, while Trump says his father isn’t looking to explore deporting Harry, it does not mean he’s fond of the exiled royal.
You look at this one black sheep who doesn’t exactly know where he is, led by a wife that is pretty unpopular, both here and over where you are,” he said of the duke, who quit royal life in 2020 and moved to the US.
Trump added that the Sussexes “have gone off the deep end and it’s sad to watch,” adding that people are “able to differentiate between the two sides” of the monarchy.
The late queen was amazing,” he said of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in November 2022 at age 96. “The way she welcomed my father with open arms was, like, beyond.”
Trump also praised the current monarch, King Charles III, who had previously visited the Trump family at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
We’ve known the king forever,” Trump told the outlet. “In fact, I was just digging through a photo album not too long ago and I came across a picture of him with my father, I’m 6 years old in the lobby of Mar-a-Lago.”
Elsewhere, the son of the 45th US president showered the Prince and Princess of Wales with praise, saying the pair have never “made a misstep.”
What’s more, Trump highlighted that Princess Catherine always “conducts herself so incredibly well and has been such a rock in the next generation of the family.”
Guest Speaker aka Meghan Markle's Response:
Meghan Markle clapback: Eric is making a fool of himself. So phony."
American Response to MM: Look in the dictionary under phony and Meghan's picture is there. 🔥
