pikmin is so funny. it seems so sweet and charming and it absolutely is! but also so so brutal when you're playing it as a kid lacking in dexterity and still unused to the concept of death. like, mom bought it bc she thought it was a cute game for children. she doesn't know anything about pikmin beyond what's on the cover. Love. Survival. Consequences. War.

fast forward years later, mom recognizes pikmin 4 on the shelves. she still remembers it fondly, asks me if i played it. yes, i tell her. there's a cute dog too.

Robot Rating: Those little fuckers from TF2 robot destruction.

You know robot destruction? That official valve gamemode that they worked on before just giving up entirely. The one that only has asteroid. Yeah im ranking those fellas.

So first of all. The voice lines are awesome. We have the stereotypical beeps and boops, but then we have lines like "ow" and "oww" which are really funny when you hear them in game. The designs of the robots are all just the same guy but with a taller or flatter head.

I especially love their running away animation. It reminds me heavily of the animation that the breadbugs do in pikmin 4 after they get hit. The animations and voice lines work together to make these guys both adorable and also really funny when you kill them.

I am going to give them an 8/10 solely because they are only in the game for a single unused map that can only be played on community servers. If there was more support for this gamemode I would LOVE IT SO MUCH.
