UNRWA has been caught stealing and then selling humanitarian aid that came into Gaza that was intended to be given to Palestinian civilians, UN Watch reported on Wednesday, citing reports published by Palestinians in "an UNRWA-related chatroom."
The Watch report also claims that those who report UNRWA's actions with the humanitarian aid "face reprisals."
According to the report, Palestinians claimed that staff working for the UN agency “have their homes full of aid.” Additionally, a UNRWA warehouse chief sold 50 cartons of food for $5,000.Top ArticlesRead
Items such as pampers, canned sweets, and tissues were sold at a UNRWA school door. This comes amid statement by UNRWA Commissioner-General Phillipe Lazzarini, who was quoted in the UN Watch report saying “there is more food available… it still does not mean that the food is accessible” as he was calling countries to increase direct cash assistance to Gazans.
Looking closer into UNRWA's exposure
Former UNRWA employee Haitham al-Sayyed ran the chatroom that exposed the agency's theft and selling of aid. The UN Watch reported that he had "created several chat rooms for staff and educators to share posts, many of which feature antisemitism, incitement to hatred and Jihadi terrorism" during the near two decades he worked for the agency.
However, today, he disseminates information about UNRWA salaries in his chatrooms, which the Watch also reports that thousands of UNRWA employees were celebrating Iran's drone attacks on Israel.

The Truth about Aid Flowing into Gaza. By Barry Shaw: The View from Israel
As Melanie Phillips aptly put it,
"In the remorseless attempt to demonise Israel, humanitarian aid has become the blood libel of the day."
Israel says there is no limit to the number of aid trucks being allowed into Gaza. The hold-ups at the crossing points are because the UN is struggling to distribute the aid.
That is because it uses the UN’s Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA, which is controlled by Hamas.
Israel's COGAT says that, over the past two weeks, almost 50% more food trucks have entered Gaza than before the start of the war.
On Wednesday, 257 trucks entered. Over the past few days, more than 100 trucks were transferred to the northern part of the Strip. Over the past two weeks, the number of operational bakeries in Gaza doubled from 10 to 20, providing more than 2.5 million breads per day to the population.
From the start of the war, more than 750 packages of humanitarian aid have been delivered by 25 airdrops mounted by an alliance of Israel, the US, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan and France. None from Britain!
The media is showing a deeply biased, deliberately selective, picture of Gaza.
COGAT, which co-ordinates Israeli government activities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, published a video of Gazans queuing up at a plentiful shawarma stand in Rafah.
Social media footage has shown well-stocked Rafah markets. There have also been videos of Gazans contemptuously throwing air-dropped ready-to-eat meals into the trash.
Hamas hijacks the trucks and steals the food and other supplies, either for itself or to sell to the population on the black market.
On social media, there are videos of aid trucks being commandeered by armed men. There are also videos of Egyptian drivers warning others not to drive aid trucks into Gaza because they are being attacked with rocks hurled through their windscreens, leaving some badly injured and even killed.
This has nothing to do with Israel.
It has everything to do with the impotence of the UN and other international aid organisations that have been in Gaza for decades.
Even US officials are admitting that Hamas is stealing the aid that the Biden administration is falsely accusing Israel of failing to provide.
One senior official told journalists that the problem was with distribution once the 250 to 300 truckloads of assistance got into Gaza. He said: “This is a product of, if you will, commercialisation of the assistance; criminal gangs are taking it, looting it, reselling it. They’ve monetised humanitarian assistance. … The food is there; it’s coming in”.
David Satterfield, the senior US diplomat involved in humanitarian assistance for Gaza, acknowledged that police escorts for aid deliveries include Hamas members, and that Hamas has been using other aid delivery channels to “shape where and to whom assistance goes.”
Israel is being scapegoated for the war crimes of Hamas. Scapegoating the Jews is the consistent and defining motif of antisemitism through the ages.
Israel’s media spokesman Eylon Levy said this week: “We will accept being scapegoated no longer.” Israel isn’t on its knees. The Jews of Britain and America should get up from theirs and publicly tell Cameron and Blinken the same thing.

"186000 deaths".
This death toll from 3 days ago is about to be everywhere, if it isn't already, so let's nip it in the bud.
It's extrapolated, not counted. It multiplied the current reported death toll by 4 just because that's a model from other conflicts. No justification based on current conditions was given.
It cross-referenced UNRWA and the Gaza Health Ministry as a fact check. Both operate under Hamas jurisdiction, the Gaza Health ministry is a direct arm of Hamas while UNRWA has faced a scandal due to the revelation of its involvement with Hamas. The death toll doesn't separate combatants and noncombatants, presenting them all as civilian deaths.
It blames Israel for Hamas's failures and sabotage. It uses "indirect death by starvation" despite the humanitarian aids being supplied by Israel and other countries, but not distributed to Gazans. Israel has accused Hamas of stealing and blocking access to aid, with concrete evidence.
Expect further exaggeration. The Lancet extrapolated based on a "conservative estimate", but according to the new status quo in which Israel and Israelis are charged with genocide based on loose estimates, the number can go as high as 550000. After all, "In recent conflicts, such indirect deaths range from three to 15 times the number of direct deaths." The four times can and will magically or gradually become fifteen times when convenient.

This wave of people joining “creators for Palestine” has me really frustrated.
I have no issue with supporting the right to safety and freedom for the people of Palestine and I have no issue with wanting to help but I DO have an issue with the organizations that they are choosing to support.
One of the main organizations is the UNRWA, a confirmed Hamas puppet. The UNRWA is actively stealing aid from civilians, and members were actively a part of the October 7th massacre and held hostages in their homes. Why would you want to send them money?!?!?
The amount of misinformation and disinformation that is being spread at the moment is absolutely appalling. Israel isn’t “not sending enough aid”, Hamas is attacking humanitarian aid crossings and stealing the aid that they do let in.
In many of the cases of these creators, I do believe that they have only the best intentions but they are choosing to support a terror organization rather than actually helping the people they claim to care about.
There are also so many people denying the very legitimate REASONS that Israel is doing what they’re doing. I’m not saying I support everything they are doing but I understand why they’re doing it. If you want safety and freedom for the Palestinian people, you have to support the destruction of Hamas. There will be no peace until they are gone. It’s really a simple matter when you strip it down to the basics (not the conflict itself, that’s very complicated, but the reality of the current situation regarding any hope for peace).
Anyway… I now have to decide if I’m going to unfollow all of these creators whose work otherwise brings me joy. They are contributing to the false narrative and waving a literal imperial flag under the guise of “indigenous liberation” (don’t even get me started on the stupid fucking watermelons…)
If anyone has any advice about how to deal with this (tips on separating the content from the creator perhaps) or people who ARE doing good work and are actually helping the situation, please let me know.
This post is most specifically about SMOSH but it applies to a lot of creators. I’m so tired, and I can’t even begin to imagine how the Jewish people in those circles are feeling. People have been calling for Noah Grossman to be fired for being Jewish a zionist for months now, this cannot be helping that situation. I want him to know that the people with critical thinking skills and fucking basic understanding of the complicated history and current situation in the Middle East support him.

Verify.
Getting really, REALLY sick of all the botspam pretending to be refugees in Gaza. Just in the last couple of days I've had more than 20 new money requests land in my inbox, many of them exact duplicates sent from various randomly-generated URLs. Some of them seem to be AI-generated, or at least following a set Mad Libs format ("our beautiful ___-story house" is a perennial favorite; who knew Gaza had so many homes with 6 to 11 floors?).
Nearly all of these claim to be verified by some third party, but almost none have proof of it (links to a database, exact spreadsheet line numbers, etc.). Some that do give such information don't exist when you actually look them up; they're just assuming that nobody will bother checking.
This is why I never send money to unsolicited cash requests. Too many vultures are posing as victims to steal funds, and it's risky to trust a random DM without reliable third-party verification. By all means, support refugees and fund evacuation and relief efforts! But do it through safe/verified channels, and (for your own safety) never send random cash to a stranger on the internet without doing at least the bare minimum of fact-checking.
If you're considering donating to an individual campaign, ask for proof of third-party verification, such as whether it's listed on the fundraiser spreadsheet compiled by @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi. While this is not 100% foolproof, it would require a dedicated scammer to jump through enough hoops to get listed, while most bots/scattershot scams are just pointing you directly to a GoFundMe link without taking the effort.
Here are a few more bot-free ways to help:
Gaza Funds - a safer way to give directly to those raising money for evacuation, medical treatment, or rebuilding. This site randomly displays a vetted campaign every time you load the page, so it helps all campaigns get equal exposure. All campaigns in the database have been screened to weed out likely scams.
Charity Watch Gaza Aid list - Choose your own charity to support from this verified list of humanitarian and relief services. From this site, you can learn what your money goes toward and what percentage of it will be used for direct relief, rather than administrative costs.
Connecting Humanity/eSIMs for Gaza - This organization uses donated eSIM cards to provide internet and communications access to refugees and displaced people.
Operation Olive Branch - A grassroots organization, OOB helps verify individual fundraising campaigns and supports relief organizations.
UNRWA - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine and the Near East provides food, medical supplies, educational materials, and more to affected areas.
Arab.org daily clicks to help - It's free and only takes a few seconds! You can click all six categories, once per browser per device per day (so different browsers, mobiles, desktops, tablets, etc. can all be used on the same day).
For more reading, here's the FCC guide to donating safely.

It's not just Hamas that is stealing and reselling aid intended for displaced and desperate Gazans. No wonder the UN hates Hillel Neuer: he publicizes the institution's corruption.
Once again, UNRWA demonstrates again that it cares more about its own self-perpetuation than about the lives and welfare of Palestinians. Whether that's by redefining what it means to be a refugee, discouraging settlement of Palestinians and encouraging their dependence on charity, or protecting internal malpractice, UNRWA exists only to provide its leaders a steady paycheck. It's long past time that Palestinians were cared for by the UNHCR and UNRWA was disbanded for malicious incompetence.

"The situation is terrible because the humanitarian people, those responsible for the humanitarian aid, are thieves....Hamas has their hands on UNRWA administration workers, and it manages UNRWA." - an unnamed Palestinian man in Gaza on a recorded phone call.
I don't know if that's a legit quote or not but Hamas is absolutely stealing the aid.

I have put aside my general distaste and suspicion of the UN as a whole to donate to UNRWA again because it's largely locally staffed by Palestinians (that's why the Israeli government hates them and so many cut funding—because they reassure the kids the occupation is temporary and they'll get their homes back someday, this is, as you can imagine, perceived as bad by an occupying entity stealing land and forcibly displacing people) and for many, it's all they have to rely on after God. Food, shelter, schooling, aid...
The grassroots efforts are wonderful and should be supported, of course, but right now, whatever can actually do some good on the ground, please. Please help them.
If you have no money, visit this website and click the button every day to donate to the UNRWA, ad revenue covers the cost. From multiple devices! You can even click the little ads below and the sponsors will pay even more.
It's similar to freerice.com and thehungersite.com

by Andrew Bernard
The UN agency responsible for Palestinian refugees on Monday said that it had received reports that Hamas had seized humanitarian supplies from a UN compound in Gaza City before backtracking and deleting all references to the accusation.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in a statement said that fuel and medical supplies were seized from the compound, which they had evacuated on 13 Oct.
“UNRWA received reports this morning that yesterday a group of people with trucks, purporting to be from the Ministry of Health of the de facto authorities (DFA) in Gaza, removed fuel and medical equipment from the Agency’s compound in Gaza City,” UNRWA said. “UNRWA’s fuel and other types of material are kept for strictly humanitarian purposes, and any use of such assets for any other purposes is strongly condemned.”
“De facto authorities” is a term frequently used by the UN to refer to the Hamas terrorist group that controls the Gaza strip. The Gaza-based Palestinian Ministry of Health is likewise controlled by Hamas.
After posting the statement on their website and on social media on Monday, UNRWA then deleted the statement without explanation.
Tumblr media
UNRWA’s deleted statement charging Hamas with seizing aid from its Gaza City compound.
UNRWA did not immediately respond to The Algemeiner’s request for comment about why they withdrew the statement.
A social media account run by Israel’s Foreign Ministry on Monday called out the deletion as an example of UNRWA’s overly-close relationship with the terrorist group responsible for the 7 Oct. massacre of more than 1,400 people in Israel.
“Wait UNRWA – Did Hamas also break into your Twitter account?  Or are you just scared of disappointing your terrorist friends?” the @Israel account posted on X/Twitter.
Past UNRWA statements about Hamas’ violations of the agency’s facilities have shown indications that the agency is unwilling to risk Hamas’ ire. In November, UNRWA issued a statement saying it found a “man-made cavity” under one of its schools in Gaza, which it had “protested strongly to the relevant authorities in Gaza” without saying who exactly those authorities might be or what they might have intended to do with their terror tunnel. In 2021 UNRWA’s Gaza director, Matthias Schmale, was replaced after he conceded that Israel’s airstrikes were “very precise” and they did not hit civilian targets, albeit with “some exceptions.” In a meeting with Hamas’ Yahya Sinwar, Schmale’s replacement called those comments “indefensible” and “affirmed her solidarity with the Palestinians.” Israel has named Sinwar as one of the chief architects of the 7 Oct. slaughter.
In past conflicts in Gaza, Hamas has been regularly accused by Israel and by human rights groups of illegally exploiting UNRWA facilities, including schools, to launch rockets, store munitions, and to otherwise shield the terrorist group.
UNRWA itself has been accused of enabling Hamas materially by providing humanitarian services that the terrorist group itself would otherwise have to provide, as well as ideologically by supporting school curricula that demonizes Israel and is rife with antisemitic content. Those criticisms contributed to the Trump administration suspending aid to the Agency in 2018. President Joe Biden restored aid to UNRWA after taking office in 2021.

So like people are saying that UNRWA are withholding supplies, claimed their warehouses were empty forcing Palestinians to "steal" and thus be called "looters", that they refuse to name Israel as the perpetrator even as their own staff die and need to be held responsible for complicity in war crimes.
Do correct me if I'm getting something wrong here because ngl the different branches of the UN confuse me, but as far as I can tell this is entirely false and potentially some kind of psyop idk. UNRWA exist specifically for aiding Palestinians, they were established by the General Assembly of the UN - the same ones who voted for a ceasefire contrarily to the Security Council - and run mostly off donations. They don't just distribute food but also run long term operations like schools, healthcare and all kinds. The schools are also where people sought shelter from bombs albeit they are now being bombed there too.
I can see their publications repeatedly naming the State of Israel, just as one example, the UNRWA address to the Security Council says "The relentless bombardments by the Israeli Forces of the Gaza Strip are shocking.", "receiving evacuation notices from the Israeli forces", "The atrocities of Hamas do not absolve the State of Israel from its obligations under International Humanitarian Law.". The rest of their news reports are the same.
Not only do they deny having withheld supplies, and I can find no evidence they ever said the warehouses were empty, they're trying to distribute aid in such a way that it can reach more people and in doing so alleviate the general pressure on supplies to lower costs overall. They also did not blame the people breaking in when reporting it, rather stating that it as a sign of bad things have gotten especially in the wake of communications blackouts hindering their systems. They also, on a different occasion, were quick to clarify there was never any stealing justified or otherwise when various SM posts claimed there was.
As above I'm not saying I understand everything about the UNRWA but it is one of the main organisations actually on the ground offering relief, it relies mostly on donations and demonising them should not be taken lightly.
Instagram post that is also making the rounds on tumblr but I'm blocked from OP.

The news that members of the UNRWA were involved in Hamas' October 7 attack will not surprise anyone familiar with that agency.
But it does prove once and for all that "humanitarian aid" is funding Palestinian terrorism. And the complaints of Palestinian terrorists and officials (one and the same) show that restricting money is an effective tool.
The United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Italy, and the United States will all be pausing funding to the UNRWA, while the agency investigates staff who assisted Hamas' massacre.
The fact that several members of UNRWA have already been fired substantiates Israel's accusations.
There is further evidence of UNRWA complicity: open celebrations of the terror attack by its agency staff, and its long, well-documented support of genocide by distributing books in Gazan schools that call for the murder of Jews.
The "humanitarian aid to Gaza" scam has been exposed once and for all. It's bitterly amusing to see world leaders expressing shock that Palestinian agency staff have supported and been involved in terrorist massacres. They deluded themselves into donating millions to terrorists, and now they're discovering they've been deceived and robbed.
It's time to end international funding for the UNRWA. Hamas is sponsored by multi-billionaires in Qatar and the Ayatollah. They've got money already. They're choosing to steal from humanitarian aid trucks and deprive their people of aid.
No more Western taxpayer money for Palestinian terrorists posing as humanitarian workers.

Information:
Hamas was founded in the 1980s, crimes in Gaza have been taking place since the 1940s
Israel killed its people using its policies, and then will convince the public that it was Hamas
Israelis mostly support their government (They proved it with their telegram posts)
Israel has used racial segregation for years
Israel uses mirror propaganda and homonationalism
Being pro-Palestine is not anti-Semitic, you know what is? Attacking Jews supporting Palestine for being strong and brave enough to say that Israel is the bad guy
Hamas did not have hospital tunnels, but the IDF had headquarters in hospitals that they bombed
The IDF kills Palestinian Jews because they are Palestinian
Israelis spit on the Christian minority in Palestine
Palestine, Iran, Yemen and Lebanon have the right to self-defense when Israel attacks them
Everything Israel has said about Hamas is a lie
Hamas did not behead 40 children, but Israel did it on Palestinian children, Hamas did not commit mass rapes, but the IDF military rapes Palestinian prisoners (Including children)
Israel burns Palestinians alive (This has already happened at humanitarian tents)
Saying Palestine and Israel are equally bad is like saying Nazis and Jews were equally bad (In short, that's a fucked up line of thinking)
No, many fundraisers are not scams, and are created by people abroad (Relatives, friends or random people), because many sites are not available in Gaza (Same in Sudan, Yemen…)
People from the IDF army dress up as Palestinian women they murdered in the houses they bombed and create tik toks out of this shit
No, Putin does not support Gaza, Putin pretends to support Gaza so that his propaganda that every Ukrainian is a Zionist is proof of why "Ukraine deserves what is happening"
Just like Putin, he is with Kim Jong Un and Nicolás Maduro, they also do not really support Gaza, but they do it in order to appear "good" in the eyes of people
Israel provided spy equipment to Bangladesh government (Yes, let's not forget that)
The attack on the WCK vehicle was not an accident, it was a special action to prevent aid from reaching Gaza (Israelis also blocked and attacked humanitarian aid, destroying food for the people of Gaza, in order to starve people to death so they could steal their Land and because they are disgusting Nazis)
UNRWA is not a fucking terrorist organization you zionist genocidal bitch
Israel has a history of stealing the children of Yemeni Jews and treating them as "Inferior"…
Zionists collaborated with the Nazis (Years before the Third Reich attacked Poland)
There's probably more to add, but still… I see that people still believe in propaganda that was debunked a long time ago and it sucks…

"unrwa is a hamas puppet!!" yes of course. that's why multiple EU nations including the UK and Germany, have resumed unrwa funding, correct? "unrwa steals aid!" and that's why israeli settlers are blocking the aid, celebrating blocking it, attacking palestinian drivers, and actually destroying the aid, correct? maybe in their wisdom they want to destroy what little supplies the gazans have access to before the big evil unrwa does. given that unrwa is DEFINITELY the villain here, despite multiple countries finding israels accusations of them being terrorists unsubstantiated.
God, sometimes the takes I come across are hilarious.
Sometimes I think some people actually have literally zero intelligence whatsoever.
The UNRWA is confirmed to have been involved in October 7th and to have been holding hostages. 10 members were fired due to direct involvement following the release of chat room conversations. Hamas was photographed hanging out and shooting civilians next to UN cars in front of a UNRWA building.
Hamas is stealing aid, there is literally footage of them standing on top of aid trucks with machine guns shooting at civilians who dare try to get the aid that’s meant for them. Hamas has attacked aid crossings multiple times. More aid is entering Gaza than before the war, it’s just not being distributed. There are photos of more than 500 aid trucks that were sitting on the Gaza side of the boarder because they aren’t distributing aid. Things literally labeled as “humanitarian aid NOT FOR SALE” are being sold in street markets.
The UK has NOT resumed funding to the UNRWA (see article below). Also the UK is not part of the EU (have you not been paying attention at all?)
Germany has restored aid but with additional measures to try and ensure it is being used correctly.
There are a lot of things you can criticize rightfully about Israel’s actions, but choosing to ignore the wrongdoings of Hamas and the UNRWA and lying about aid distribution isn’t going to help anyone, especially not the citizens of Gaza.
