Hyperfixations can be so Frustrating

I hate when a new special interest completely overshadows every other recent and long term interest I've had. Especially when there is very little content outside of the source material to enjoy.

Cobra Commander, I love you, but where are all your fans? Where's the mountains of fan art? The complex AUs? The shipping of every possible character? The questionable fanfics!? I know I'm still new to the fandom but, dang. Where is everyone?

Sure the original cartoon is fun but, it's also extremely frustrating to watch sometimes. As is true with many 80s cartoons, the characterization is extremely inconsistent and will change for the sake of each episodes' individual plot.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll just make more fan art soon to fill this void in my heart.

You know the reason Lucien isnt widely considered to be endgame material for Elain is because he isn’t the typical hardcore brute and toxic masculinity character that have people on a chokehold.

His strongest qualities are his sass, intelligence and emotional control.

Okay. I'm about to say something that's probably going to get me run out of the fandom, but.

I don't actually think Tommy leaving their date early had anything to do with him not wanting to pressure Buck (regardless of what he claimed later). Instead, I think it had everything to do with Tommy being annoyed and no longer into it that evening, and I think that is both okay AND significantly more interesting than taking him at his word later and framing it as some selfless act by a sanitized elder gay shepherd just trying to do right by Buck.

Headcanon that Jason straight up has friend crushes on people (cmon we've all had friend crushes before). Like he'd spend all day and all night to befriend someone and would try every possible thing ever. He'd be extra helpful towards them, going out of his way to help with giving them their lunches, passing their plate to them, helping them with their training, etc

Girls at camp would be ECSTATIC and think that Jason is into them romantically or something but nope. He just has an agressive friend crush, like pls just be his friend he's such a cutie patootie 🥹

i actually do have a theory that red robin wouldn't have been able to do near as much damage to fandom perception of dick & tim as it did if grant morrison hadn't been the one writing batman and robin.

(and i actually personally hold morrison more responsible for the state of things than yost because despite yost's best efforts to do a love letter to the dick & tim relationship and showcase dick caring about tim, one of the main reasons that people felt like dick didn't care about tim during that era was because morrison was *busy writing dick not caring about tim in that era* & i honestly do think that if we had a batman!dick who reminisced a bit about tim while he was gone or was shown to have missed him or wish he was there when he got frustrated with things instead of the "i could give timothy drake his job back" or "oh my god timothy drake was right" we got, there would have been less intepretations like we got.)

Hamish and the Neverpeople fanart!

I tried to show Holly's rebellious nature a lot in this picture, with her hair being super choppy because I like to think she cut it herself, and the added piercings. With Alice, I tried to show how she's more stubborn, with the rectangular pupils. I also added a few scars, as she probably got into a few scrapes growing up. I tried to show how similar the two are, with their determination and stubbornness, but also show their differences.

Ppl going "waaahh unpopular opinion but Alice is kind of annoying and obnoxious and I don't think I'd like be her friend irl" is so funny to me bc like.

God forbid a cast of characters be multifaceted and have actual flaws and unpleasant aspects other than "grr angsty hero" and "whoops i'm so clumsy". Sometimes character dynamics and arcs need to be prioritized above "who would i personally be niceys with irl"
