CLASS OF 09 RANT, FLIP SIDE SPOILERS

Ok not my usual post (I’ve posted twice ik but shush) but what the freak was the flip side??….. I was a huge fan of class of 09 + the re up but this game was so.. what’s the word….. dog shit? Even if we ignore half of the game being about the creators weird foot fetish, the sl@ve ending was so unnecessary. I feel like the only thing in that route that was worth writing was the issue in retail work and that wasn’t even the star focus, let alone side focus. The main plot of that route was the counselor having some weird illegal 🌽 warehouse, jecka finding it, and then him blackmailing her into human 🚙 🚙 ing?

The only ending I thought was necessary IF THAT was when Jecka found Nicole after the sue a side ending from re up. I thought it did a decent job at talking about sue a side victims, and how nobody really cares about them until it’s too late, And even then they only care for a week or so and then move on.

But the Jeffery dying one was the most out of place in my opinion (unfortunately it beats the foot ending.) For starters, Nicole was really out of character imo, like yeah she’s talked about wishing Jeffery was dead before, but her actually killing him just out of boredom is so odd. Her entire character is “I don’t put effort into anything unless it benefits me.” Killing Jeffrey was not only ALOT of effort, but she gained absolutely nothing. On top of that, saying it’s different than doing. Like how she talked about wishing her mom was dead, but then when she had a heart attack, she panicked. Plus, she PLANNED on making Jecka take some of the blame on his death, which she stated in past games she wouldn’t do. She literally never put Jecka in harms way, let alone jail if it didn’t also benefit them both. But this didn’t, she just did it to do it.

While we’re talking about Nicole being out of character, I feel it valid to mention her and Jeckas dad. For obvious (and gross) reasons, I won’t be detailing this, but her doing that to Jecka wasn’t fully out of character, but still odd. Like I mentioned earlier, Nicole never really did anything to spite Nicole, so I find it odd that she did in this game. You could blame it on “oh she’s a sociopath she doesn’t care.” But I don’t think that’s inherently true. Yeah, I guess it’s canon she’s a sociopath, but in that case they do a bad job at consistency. She’s shown in both games 1 and 2 caring about people she’s close with, whether it’s Jecka, her mom, or even Emily in one segment. So I find it completely random that she did this to Jecka over something as small as not sharing how she got into foot work. Jeckas done much worse stuff to Nicole, and Nicole just didn’t care because they were friends, or didn’t feel the need to put effort into doing something if she did care. So yeah, Nicole basically screwing Jeckas dad over something so little felt out of character.

One of the few things that bothered me the least, but I feel the need to mention was the foot work stuff. Not because it was out of character, i fear I’ve seen worse stuff mentioned in that game. But I guess the way it was portrayed as less of a story plot and more of the creator trying to live out his fantasies. He himself has stated Jeffrey is basically a self insert, so the whole being sexually obsessed with Jecka and her feet felt REALLY weird. Compared to Nicole’s my space favor thing, this just felt dirty. For comparison. Both Jecka and Nicole took up sex work to keep a home life or lackthereof, they both got money from strangers to do sexual things, and they both hated doing it. But why did Jeckas feel so much more personal and gross? Because the actual sex work was shown. In graphic detail. And all of Jeffrey’s (the creators) personal thoughts were stated with no backlash. Jeffery literally asked Jecka if she would 🍒feed him, and he was excused. When Nicole was asked the same hing from the same guy, he was insulted, yelled at, even told to leave.

So, creepy creator who’s obsessed with his barely legal characters, Jecka being sold to 🚙 🚙ing agaisnt her will, Jeffrey being murdered for no reason other than a giggle or two from his haters, Jecka accidentally killing Ari cause she was drunk driving, feet fan service, and fan service in general aside, the game is left only with the regular drug and alcohol abusage we always see. which in the game that was advertised as a new experience felt really stale and honestly left me bored. The ONE SINGULAR time during this game that I giggled was when the hat man appeared in the Ari route.

If you’ve fully ignored everything I said in this, maybe didn’t care, or didn’t even read it. Id just like to mention for everyone that the creator of this game said that anybody who disliked him, his games, his writing, or his humor were kid diddlers. In full seriousness. So yeah, no shock this game was bad, but I guess I shouldn’t have expected better from someone who thinks his haters are all child likers. All this being said, I enjoyed class of 09, and the re up. I’m hoping the anime episode that comes out soon with be a decent save. all of THAT being said, I don’t support this creator. I don’t support his actions, I think he’s a shitty person who’s made some shitty jokes, but made some not so shitty games that I decently enjoyed. I also haven’t bought them, so none of my money has gone towards him or his projects. I in NO WAY support him. Thanks for reading.

Ashton could only nod to her, murmuring a soft okay.. okay, perhaps it was a long relief of held stress thinking he'd lost Charlie for good, those few weeks of silence had convinced him so. He wished he could give her everything she wanted instantly, but his throat was hoarse and he couldn't hug her with all his might without certainly tearing another muscle. I'm sorry. It felt pathetic that he couldn't even give her that right now.

He tried to swallow back the excuse of a laugh that blubbered past his lips at the mention of her oldest brother’s nature and pride, "I think I've insulted Jer enough, he's probably used to it by now. I rather have him safe, annoyed and insulted, than.. the alternative." If insulting meant the nags and reminders, and care and worry. Because despite Jer's big words, there's no stopping the heartache of seeing him exhausted and in so much pain these past two days. Doesn't mean that guy couldn't use some help while he's saving himself.

Shamefully having said his piece, it was his time to shut up, to listen to Charlie, he wanted her to understand from his perspective, whether or not she did, it was only right he did the same. "I can't control when people ask for help," it was more so a soft joke, Ash would've been on some occasions contented to stay in before the next run but.. guess sometimes it's hard not to take every opportunity they got, never knowing when might be their last.

But then she closed the gap once again like before, sitting by his right side, fingers interlaced to hold his hand tightly, "there's just.. so much to do," Ash was too exhausted to hold up whatever emotional wall he had left and instead tears continued once their gaze met again, "but I can do that." He couldn't give her a proper hug now but the least he could do was lean into her, and pressing his lips to the top of her head before replacing it with a tilt of his own head onto hers, hand tightening and desperately holding onto her grasp, "I'll try." He's too afraid to make promises to her right now. Of course she'd get it though, Ash should've led with that explanation ages ago, they were one in the same in that regard, just.. maybe Ashton's display of help is usually in the more deadly spectrum on things.

"Give me maybe a month," he tiredly chuckle, with Ruth to help with PT again, he's hoping a month or two, knowing the moment Mr Wexley speaks with him later, this was going to be a non-negotiable. He didn't let go of her hand even as she got up, not until the tray was on his lap again this time carefully placed there. Only then did he let go and pick up the fork, grateful for the food and for Charlie to bring it to him, "thank you but I.. I haven't had a lot of appetite recently." He hoped to at least force a mouthful or two down, the eggs were a nice surprise.. but he wasn't about to confess that he's given Aggie a lot of his meals during the quarantine. One bite, two bites, before his stomach remembers there's too much pain to function right.

But as things calmed down, so did his mind and emotions, his subconscious tugging at something he let slide, it happened yet again like the last time, he should've stopped the fight and picked it up immediately, "you mentioned something earlier.." but this time his mind was still foggy, doing it's best to figure out why his subconscious was simmering with an unknown stress, "you said something- about a baby." It took him longer than it should before some kind of terrified realization dawned, "Charlie are you-.."

"I wanted you to apologize for it... to hug it away." That's what her brothers had always done, and it had never failed to work. Charlie was not the sort to hold a grudge, never had been. A sorry and a hug was usually all it took to get back into her good graces, as silly and heart dangerous as that was. She just couldn't help it. Holding the silent treatment against Ash had been just about one of the hardest things she'd had to do outside of amputating an arm, and pretending she wasn't an exhausted, scared mess.

"You know just as well as I do that he'd be insulted if he even heard you saying that he needed safe keeping." Unable to help herself, a hint of a smile turned up the corner of her mouth in amusement, because it was true. If there as ever anyone who didn't need saving it was Jeremiah, at least according to him. Ash and Charlie knew better, it seemed.

"I never said I didn't want you to go out there ever again. All I wanted was for you to not rush out there the moment you come back, or the moment you leave quarantine. I felt like I'd barely seen you since the spring had started. You were gone already, Ash, for all that you still lived here. I just wanted you to be here sometimes, so I didn't have to worry." Lowering down beside him on the bed, Charlie reached out a hand to take a hold of one of his, eyes lifting up to his face.

"I know. I'm like that, too." If someone were to ask Charlie for help on her literal death bed the chances were she'd get up and live longer just to help in whatever way she could.

"Good, that just means I don't have to hassle you about that anymore..." Trailing off a moment, she got up to get the tray that was set down, setting it in his lap. "and I can start hassling you eat. So... eat."

this basically explores a bit of folke and adrian's relationship - adrian, the Creature, ends up finding folke's brother's recently deceased corpse and imitates his appearence, the only real way for a basilisk in their world to learn to shapeshift into something.

So their relationship is a bit complicated. but also, it ends up eventually settling into something that isnt only full of bitterness...

The kind of affection that’s usually savored in private, instead displayed wherever, whenever, and every single time you see each other—he always takes two to three minutes just to kiss you hello, abandoning the task at hand (dozing off, attending to Choji, managing the Shishitoren) to mosey your way and pull your lips to his in something just a little too sloppy to be sweet, but a little too sweet to be… too distasteful.

Everyone’s used to it by now, even Sakura, knowing that when you arrive, there’s always a going to be a pause in action just for the sappy display of Togame drooping over you and announcing you to the crowd physically.

(What’s not readily exposed, however, and especially not in a room full of men, is that it’s not just a kiss Togame’s giving you, not just a hello that he hides behind his long bangs and your cheeks between his warm hands, but the kindest stare and sweetest little whisper, “missed you, baby,” as he wraps you up in his arms.)
