I don't endorse my art being reuploaded on pinterest without my awareness and consent, but the unfortunate reality is that there's very little I can do to stop people from doing that. I know a lot of artists have a similar sort of antagonistic relationship with the site purely because it's so full of stolen, unsourced and uncredited art. I could spend my days going through pinterest and reporting my pieces for removal, and it wouldn't be enough and I'd never have time to do anything else. It's kind of a pick your fights situation and I know I can't win that one.

I have the balls to write this question without being a ~mysterious annon~ besides I really like you and your writings so when I have questions your the only person I trust to ask. I'm no longer shy anyway my question was about Dia and RAD. Is he the principal there? And Lucifer is his right hand man? Okay, so RAD. I mean, the details here aren't great. They tell you at the very beginning of OG that Diavolo and Lucifer and all his brothers are Student Council members. Diavolo is obviously the president of the Student Council and Lucifer is his right hand man... though I can't remember if they ever say he's the vice president?

But I don't think they've ever talked about a principal? And they've never talked about professors, either.

So is there a faculty of demons? A principal? Professors? Other such staff members?? Or is the whole school run by the Student Council and the professors just... are hired by Diavolo, Barbatos, and/or Lucifer???

Also it's the Royal Academy of Diavolo, so you would think he'd be in charge of the whole thing???

The annoying part is that they kind of imply that Diavolo and Barbatos and Lucifer also attend classes. Which is bonkers to me. Lucifer I could maybe see. But I always thought of Diavolo and Barbatos as just... faculty. Like they aren't professors, but they run the whole thing, so they don't have time to actually study as students??

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a direct answer to your question. Canon leaves this pretty open to interpretation. All we've got is that there is a Student Council, Diavolo is the head of it, Lucifer and his brothers are all on it.

Everything else is whatever you like to headcanon!

I personally like the idea that Diavolo essentially acts as the principal, but he just prefers to be thought of as a student, thus the Student Council President situation. I also imagine there are a lot of demons who are the professors and other staff, but we just never get to see them in game because they're like background filler demons, you know? Otherwise, it's just students in charge of students and that sounds like a mess waiting to happen lol.

There was this white commenter on a landback news post made by one of my beloved mooties, the news being that a tribe got a giant chunk of land getting their landback again in California, and the reply being essentially "this is good because nobody gets to be deported!" (And they said this because this land is a lot of, to put it in White colonial terms, "wilderness" and a big natural area)

this truly is the hardest question. :( but after much consideration, I think Endless Halloween Night wins out for me, because it's nonstop Characters Being Silly the whole way through. the whole thing is just lots of these little dorks having the most ridiculous interactions, which is always my favorite! and of course the big twist is SO delightfully stupid and doubles down SO hard that it becomes AMAZING and I 100% unironically adore it. AND it's Halloween! everyone is in their cute little costumes and having a spooky adventure! it's great!

however, I am ALSO a big fan of the Harveston event! how can I not be! everyone is wearing comfy winter outfits and getting along really weirdly well with Epel's grandma and he's getting a little worried about that! my terrible loud son sews a plush squirrel and then gives it a silly little nickname and refuses to leave it behind when it breaks! the ending shot with the sled! I LOVE IT.

Y'know a last resort (and Jimmy is his friend. I am curious how long Jimmy's weird resentment has existed and if it was ever obvious before the events of the game but I'm getting off track) but also. Anya LITERALLY SAYS "I have to believe our worst moments don't make us monsters" like I'm not saying she's at all okay w what jimmy did but like!!!

She's VERY OBVIOUSLY conflicted and coping! She DOESNT want him dead (well maybe she does but I don't think it's something she thinks would actually be an easy fix. She doesn't want it Logically bc the situation is. Y'know it's a spaceship w 5 ppl and he's the fuckin co pilot)

CURLY COULDVE STILL DONE MORE AND HANDLED THE SITUATION BETTER!!! Personal opinion he didn't realize it was SA and/or didn't realize how traumatic it was for Anya until she brought up pregnancy and its a mix of genuine and willful ignorance (which Logically Makes Sense but is still not an excuse) but like. He says himself she doesn't get psych evaluations!

Murder is not an easy solution! Some survivors/victims want their abusers to die and that's its own discussion, but even beyond morality and ethics: thats 20% of the fucking staff on this stupid ship!

There's a longer post to be made about the fact capitalism is the ultimate enabler of these issues and dynamics, because the combination of isolation, small crew size, complete abscence of support, disregard for employee safety and physical danger all contributed to the fact this Could Happen and the fact this Is Such A Fucking Hard Situation even if you always prioritize the victim bc. Anya's safety is threatened either way- letting Jimmy do Whatever is obviously dangerous, but also HES THE CO PILOT! The events of the game are literally an example of why you NEED A CO PILOT (though in game he's fucking. Shit at his job which y'know) because you need redundancies to make sure you arent Completely reliant on one person (like. Imagine if Anya got seriously injured. There goes the medical staff. Maybe the others have basic training but Jesus Christ being the ONLY medical expert on staff. And even then iirc she's a nurse which not to downplay the work that goes into that but it is fundamentally one of MULTIPLE medical jobs and only having A Nurse is. FOR OVER A YEAR OF TRAVEL GOOD LORD THIS IS A NIGHTMARE) anyways. Longer post by someone smarter Abt how even though jimmy is an awful person a lot of the harm he does is only possible bc of a combination of The Situation (isolation + small group) and His Power (social power as a man over the One Woman and power as the second in command)

This post got away from me bc this game makes me think a lot but what I actually wanted to say is: Curly could have done more by being more present for Anya and being more Aware of Jimmy's actions (and intervening to make sure he isn't able to interact with Anya in isolated settings). Like I also think straight up murder isn't an ideal solution but like. There's a lot of fucking THINGS YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT VICTIMS THAT ARENT MURDER

In the end I think it's a consequence of basing the approach on punishing the aggressor rather than supporting the victim, because like. It's less important to Kill Jimmy (no matter how much you want to) and way more important to KEEP ANYA SAFE

So this isn't a groundbreaking observation but it's just occurred to me that like. Of the central characters in Interview with the Vampire, we've seen all of them cry multiple times... except Armand.

He hasn't even come close, really. Imho the nearest is after he asks Louis in San Francisco if he's managed to atone at all. Even that is just a few too-quick blinks for a moment before he pulls himself together and says he'll go clean up.

Louis, Lestat, Claudia, Daniel... we've seen all of them shed tears on more than one occasion. Armand? Not once.

This is hyperspecific but one of my favorite accidental tropes is a thing I've taken to calling 'occam's trans twin'.

It's very specifically about media that has a set of clearly identical twins except for the fact one is a woman and one is a man. In theory, yeah, there might be some weird worldbuilding or magic shenanigans or whatever that would allow for a set of identical twins of different genders, but it's just simpler to assume one is trans instead of bending over backwards assuming nonexistent authorial intent otherwise.

Extra funny points when it pulls the sister trope, the 'schrodinger's trans twin' in which both twins have the same amount of trans vibes that, until proven in canon, they could both potentially be the trans one. They both are the trans one and not the trans one at the same time.
