Unlabeled tertiary/non-rose attraction: A term describing one who does not label their tertiary/non-rose attraction, for any reason. Some examples as to why someone would use this term are: one does not feel that their tertiary attraction is an important part of their identity, their tertiary attraction would be too complicated to comfortably label, they do not feel tertiary attraction and are uncomfortable with atertiary labels, etc.

The top three stripes are adjusted from the unlabeled flag and the bottom four stripes are adjusted from the tertiary attraction flag.

This isn't a question about validity, this is more just me wanting to know if there's a community consensus on this before I use the term. I've gotten mixed answers from people so far

I'm aromantic and describe my tertiary attraction simply as queer. Sometimes I also refer to it as diamoric, to specify that being nonbinary impacts my relationship to attraction/orientation, but still mostly just queer. I also refer to my identity as a whole as queer.

I will occasionally use more specific labels for my tertiary attraction if I feel that it's warranted, but not usually, because I've found that I always end up feeling boxed in or unsatisfied with more specific labels. More specific labels are a circumstance-sort-of-thing more than anything, like having old pride merch that I still enjoy for labels I used to [more heavily] identify with, or needing communities/support associated with specific labels while still only loosely identifying that way [if I identify that way at all]

I don't label my sexuality separately/at all, because I don't know or care how I experience sexual attraction. I've described myself as a neu aro ever since I found out about the term, but I'm curious if non-SAM fits as well? Also kinda curious about aroqueer but idk

Plato repulsion is repulsion to friendship and/or other platonicism /platonic coded actions and encompasses a range of experiences. This blog does not tolerate any negativity towards any attraction or relationship type (i.e. please don't act like any relationship or attraction, including platonic is inherently harmful/bad).

Edit: Im too tertiary repulsed to answer asks that mention tertiary attraction and/or desire for tertiary relationships in detail, so I probably won't answer asks that have this and would prefer to not recieve asks of this kind. Future Survey Plans

Good news: another multigender survey will be conducted at some point in the future! The timing is not yet set in stone, but the current plan is to conduct the next survey in December, so as to make this a biannual occurrence.

This version of the survey received feedback regarding some of the flaws it contained, so the following corrections will be made moving forward. 

The wording of the orientation question was exclusionary to those who experience significant tertiary attraction, and some options were only listed in reference to sexual attraction, excluding those who are, for example, biromantic but not bisexual from the “bi” option. In future surveys, this question will be edited so that the wording is more inclusive.

Some participants were uncomfortable with the terminology “male” and “female,” so they will be provided with alternatives like “man/woman” or “boy/girl” on the gender identity question. 

Feedback indicated that the wording of some questions was confusing or unclear, so those questions will be edited. Additionally, an FAQ may be provided on tumblr.

Due to the number of people who stated that their intersex or plural identity impacted their multigender identity, optional questions about both will be included in future surveys.

Rather than categorizing genders based off of informed guesses, a new question will be added for participants to sort themselves in the nine categories described in the first section. 

More options will be added to the question regarding whether participants identify as nonbinary, since many participants did not fit into the four options provided.

“Unlabeled” will be added as an option to both the gender identity and orientation questions, and “xenogender” will be added as an option to the gender identity question. 

The wording of the gender categories will be adjusted to make it clear that some people who are male+female have additional nonbinary genders.

Archive for tertiary / non-rose / eriattraction terms: Types of attraction other than romantic and sexual attraction. Tertiary, meaning third, originates from them being additional identities along the Split Attraction model. Eriattraction comes from "erilainen", a Finish word meaning "different". Non-Rose comes from the first letters in romantic and sexual, and brings up imagery of typical courtship.

Tertiary-based relationships may be partnerships, or they may simply be bonds. While some consider their tertiary attraction as polyamorous, an attraction and bond applying to multiple individuals is the norm for many types of tertiary attraction. Platonic attraction and relationships, for example, are typically non-exclusive by default.

How To Use Tertiary Terminology

Tertiary attraction types can be used in the same way as romantic and sexual ones. A few examples:

Monogamous Panplatonic (Platonic bonding with only one individual at a time, who can be of any gender.)

Touch-Favorable Asensual (Being asensual, and also okay or happy to be touched.)

Ah, personal reflective headcanon on my part as a queerplatonic aspec individual lol.

For the side of the AU I'll be writing on my blog specifically, I'll be writing them (BW!R & Sidekick!Spence) as being in queerplatonic relationship, because I want to do that.

However, genuinely please keep in mind that what I write independently about them in my personal headcanons are as such; personal, especially when it comes from headcanons that were not requested for. They don't need to be used by others if for them the headcanons I've made don't apply when it comes to the characters, attraction & relationship, or any other points that folks may not personally like about my headcanons/feel like it would be a headcanon that applies for the characters in their opinion. :D (/info/not mad)

(in a way the qpr headcanon was also related to personal headcanon of Spencer being a-spec and romantically bi-curious (angled aromantic specifically and completely asexual + I think Spence would fit a few good tertiary attraction terms as well due to neurodivercy, but that's just me lol.))

Since I'm not the one that initially came up and created the AU, (that was you, I simply indulged into it and wrote based on what was talked about :3) that means that I'm not the one that polices what the characters *have to be* and what is ""true to the canon"" (double air quoting that because it's an AU of a crossover that's not really even canon compliant in any way lol.).

So everyone can make their own headcanons and thoughts on the AU if they want to write for it, please don't take my personal headcanons as the main base for the characters if they don't apply with your own headcanons and thought about them since my own headcanons are purely done from my perspective on what I think the character(s) are or would do in my own opinion (requested or not). :3 (/Info/genuine)

Also a funny tidbit about tertiary attractions is that tertiary attractions are not exclusive to a-spec folks (noetic [aka personality related iirc] attraction, familial attraction, and aesthetic attraction for bare basic examples) and neither is queerplatonism only a-spec folk thing, you can feel romantic & sexual attraction and be queerplatonic that's possible after all.

Even cishets who mutually want to label their relationship as queerplatonic can do so. Even romantic friendships exist without them having to be relationships for the individuals who label it as such, same with unlabeled (relationship-vice) couples exist.

^so Sidekick!Spence and BW!R don't really even need to be on the a-spec for them to be in a queerplatonic relationship.

I'm only making that point because of the mentioned aromantic Spence & BW!R, however I'm not making it to denote that possibility of aromantic BW!R & Spence lol. More or less it's made as an informative point out, because I'm not exactly sure if it's already known. /Genuine

In my experience with tertiary attraction (exteramo) it's kinda like how people who experience romantic attraction describe it, you kinda "know" it's not romantic or platonic?

To me when I felt it it felt like "raw unlabeled love" if that makes any sense???? And I'm genuinely so confused if that's what romance is supposed to be or not.

But yeah I only ever felt that after having a sexual relationship and at first I was very confused about whether or not it was romantic (we decided to drop the romantic tag because it was making us both uncomfy).

Idk it's just all so weird and cool. I do wish it was clearer tho. Also yeah romantic thoughts never cross my mind when looking at strangers unlike the sexual ones and when I realized that I was like ????

I think what first oriented me towards the aro label is when I realized that I didn't really associate romantic attraction to anything other than sensual or sexual attraction.

important thing i want everyone to keep in mind, before replying: your headcanons on mike's lables are valid! (even if they are different from mine!!!)

so, to reply to your question, anon, i don't like the extremes. i always try to stay in the middle:

mike leans towards guys more and this could make him either gay or bi/pan with a preference for guys;

it's also true that we, as humans, don't experience just a single type of attraction, so personally speaking, taking one side is just too reductive.

there are factual elements that make me say that he feels romantic and aesthetic attraction mainly towards guys. but when it comes to other types of tertiary attraction you can tell he's bi. so, to sum up everything yup, you could say i am an unlabeled mike truther.
