Had to do a presentation today that I was woefully unprepared for (thank you disorganized professor making me have to start from scratch the night before, very cool)

Also, public speaking tip for any of my fellow short sighted friends having to do presentations: Take your glasses off, it's a lot easier to present to a crowd when you can't see them

Uni is scary at first and overwhelming, and I was thinking the way you where when I first went to university.

I thought I wasn't ready and I felt like I wasn't smart enough, but these thoughts didn't even last a month. I know for a fact that you are going to be okay 💞

Just make sure you study regularly and make time for yourself to relax and do something you like, and meet new friends that you share classes with, it's gonna help a lot

One thing I learned in uni is that you will never feel ready. It seems harsh, but it's the truth. That's why a lot of successful people say when they refer to a new opportunities; to jump

Your brain is always going to tell you that you are not ready but you are ready, and FYI, I've been following you for years (since the old acc got deleted) and from the way you write, and the fact that you have published books from a young age, I can tell that you are going to do great at university.

So don't stress yourself sweetheart 💞

I really appreciate that you've been taking the time to read my works, thank you so much for your support, it does mean a lot to me and I am grateful you've decided to share your thoughts about how university life might be. University sure is a different life altogether, deep down I'm worried I might lose my identity and part of myself in the process. I've always strived to be the best at whatever I do but there's a nagging feeling deep inside my mind filling me with uneasy thoughts of how can I be the best when there are thousands of people who are equally and better than you? Is it really okay if you don't stand out so much? But thank you for your kind words, I do feel at ease talking to such lovely people like you who are quite supportive :) I hope you have a good day too and thank you for instilling some confidence in me

There are not enough words in the English language to articulate how motherfucking stressed I am because my final project in one of my college classes was due THIS WEEK (it's mid-November, for future people who see this post) and I didn't know about it before this week, and I stupidly didn't check what my homework was until last night, so I did it all in 5 hours, and I don't think I did it right.

Send help. Or death. Either or works, honestly.

Holy heck Feb - March this year has been painful. I know March isn't close to being over yet; but so much shit has happened in the short time between those 2 months.

I've started 2nd year of my Medical Science degree.

Work stresses and bullying and bullshit to go through.

Serious allegations being leveled at me and the process is taking over a month already to sort out.

My suicidal urges have blown into the stratosphere.

I'm 32 on April 1st.

I don't believe I'll get there at this rate.

Finally time to start prepping for the finals and sorry for the vent but omfg The timetable has completely fucked me over and Law class has gone from rude and unaccommodating (scoffed in my face when I had to take a day off for my BROTHER'S WEDDING) to just straight up impossible

I want to highlight the difference in Legend's attitude from last update and this update.

Last update he's playful, he's comfortable. He knows dungeons better than anyone and was excited to go through this one.

Even at the beginning of the new update, he's just as energetic and excited.

But the second he realizes that the others are in danger, he's stressed. He knows he can handle the dungeon by himself but now he's worried the others can't. As the veteran, he probably feels responsible for keeping the others safe now that they're going through his "domain". (Art by @/linkeduniverse)

NIGHTMARES IS INCREASING...

Samuel is dealing with the horrors just fine! hes fine. just needs a lil laudanum to take the edge off. Just a little, tiny, several bottles of laudanum,

wheezes and collapses HI HELLO I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED..... THIS!!!!.... I don't know what possessed me to make this out of pixels but im v pleased with how it came out!!

[Everyone has been extremely cool abt this!! but just to be sure: no Fallen London spoilers/suggestions/hints in tags, replies, etc. please! I'm still in the middle of some of the stories referenced here and I'm excited to discover it all for myself! ]

At some point during Light Fingers I finally grabbed some laudanum to help with nightmares before some zee trip or other, and discovered that once you're Important, taking laudanum gives you "A Less Than Laudable Laudanum Habit" and that the initial, normal result is locked once your habit gets over level three. Naturally, I HAD TO KNOW.... WHAT HAPPENED AT OTHER LEVELS.....

I'd also decided to finally do the rest of the Watchful MYN at University, which I'd already heard about from several friends as a place where you are constantly going insane from the mundane stress of just, like, uncooperative witnesses while trying to solve a murder. The timing ended up perfect -- Samuel just coming back from the horrors of the Orphanage in Light Fingers and Trying To Be Normal And Hold Down A Normal Job For A Bit, and maybe just a lil laudanum to keep it together for class, and when withdrawal is ratcheting up everything, some annoyances like "can't find info for your murder investigation" might just tip you over the edge,

hilariously he hit level 8 on the laudanum habit -- helpfully labelled "a wretched slave to the hellish stuff" and the point where it stops working altogether -- IMMEDIATELY before running into a step of light fingers where you have to get rid of all your nightmares before you can proceed. HAHA OOPS.

ANYWAY HE STILL HAS IT BECAUSE IT TURNS OUT, IT TAKES A REALLY REALLY LONG TIME, TO KICK A LAUDANUM HABIT...... i, uh, dont recommend giving urself a laudanum addiction but narratively im having a great time lmao

Time. Worried about Wars.

Time. Worried about Wars. Time is worried about Wars- Time has to be so freaking scared for Wars I-

Warriors is going into his first dungeon which has challenges for how he should deal with it, and Time is stressed. Ima rant about it

At this point (update Entrance) Time is obviously... well, terrified. His concern for mr. stubborn after his injury is obvious and he wants to make sure it does not happen again

And his concerns are valid- they are all now painfully aware of their lack of skills in working as a team. And they are heading into a dungeon- where that instantly results in stuff like this lol

And then Wars openly says that he has never done this before

The group is obviously uhh concerned that he hasn't done this or had any dungeon experience

'No dungeon experience?' / 'Has he even seen certain monsters before?'

Time wanted to stay in a group for safety- but they have to split up. Dungeons are cramped and messy and small, and Wars is used to fighting on a battlefield - not this sort of setting

And they still joke around about it- and Wars instantly starts analyzing.

'Tell me. Give me the intel' / 'This isn't practical'

Honestly Wars' response to this is pretty cool- it's totally in line with who he is as a captain and hero. He instantly starts thinking about it and treating it as a different type of battlefield to figure out strategy. Also I think it's pretty cute that he said 'intel' even if he's grumpy about asking the others for advice and what a wallmaster is

Wars can handle it and learn what a dungeon's like- I think it'll be fun to see him go through his first dungeon :D

But. He's still never done a dungeon before. It will be interesting to see how that develops in this arc... and let's not forget he's pissed the shadow and his emo sword off before. This isn't where he fights best and Wars is particularly vulnerable in a major way.

Time was already stressed about mr. stubborn Twilight, but hearing that the captain, that Warriors isn't prepared for this is. Extra scary. I just think he must be really concerned for him- for all of them. And now mr. reliable is in a learning position and not a leading one

But these are his boys and he'll have to trust that they'll be ok. Therefore I think this was Time's thinking:

Time, thinking: "Dungeon. A dungeon oh this is dangerous- no one can get hurt-"

Wars: "can't say I've really been in one"

Time, absolutely sobbing internally: "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE RELIABLE ONE"
