Refining the Almajiri System of Learning in Northern Nigeria
The Almajiri system of learning in Northern Nigeria, is purely non islamic, it was basically rooted out of the Hausa cultural traditions, as an approach of teaching which was later incorporated with Qur’an studies, at the beginning of Islam in the region and has been a cornerstone of education for many youths. However, as the educational landscape evolves, it is crucial to address the challenges…

Why is Haiti in a State of Anarchy?
Haiti is currently in a state of anarchy. There is no functioning government and the country is effectively in control of numerous violent street gangs. There are currently an estimated 300 gangs in Haiti, consisting of around 40 000 members. At the moment the most powerful group of 12 gangs are organised into a federation headed by Jimmy Chérizier, nicknamed Barbecue. The gangs control most…

My mistake and Central American culture
People here don't like you making art or science or anything. It's like an artistic and intellectual caste, who will spit on you and do everything they can to step on or destroy or obstruct your work. Lack of a national culture. This is backwardness, due to a lack of development of the internal market of each low income/middle income nation. We live in a fragmented culture, very stuck to each professions and guilds, and they don't have a national/international outlook at all, very provincial.
The thing is: everyone seems to already know this. I don't know how they handle it so well. Or so it seems. I'm the one who, like, didn't realized his position in the world and society, and how I was received only as a low class worker to exploit and nothing else. Because I wasn't sectarian, and because I didn't want to be a classist to anyone, whether rich or poor, I ended up blocking the fact that others were still classist, and didn't noticed their classism. My lack of classism in order not to judge others, turned into me being oblivious that I was getting attacked, suppressed and even censored, because of my class.

sometimes I look at shit I did during college while insanely sleep-deprived, and think, what was the message here. what exactly was I trying to convey.
#there is an era where you are young and underdeveloped and sick in the head and body and spitting out the weirdest crap#and you can never go back to that point for better or for worse

i think i made a mistake while realistifying him. he turned out a little adorable
#maybe he'd look different from a side angle or with his signature grin. i'll have to investigate that tomorrow#maybe i should've mixed in some tanuki or weasel instead of relying on pure cat refs#i theorize that his pitchfork tail is actually an underdeveloped cobra head since i think hes the tutorial chimera.#so i made his tail kinda mutate-y and scaly!#shitpost#sketch#my art#twisted wonderland#twst#grim

It bugs me that there's basically no lore for the Tellarites other than "pig guys who like to argue". They've been around since the 60s and there's no lore. They were a founding member of the Federation and there's no lore. There's a Tellarite main character on "Prodigy" and so far the only new lore we've gotten out if it is (1) at some point in the pre-Federation past, they rounded up their orphans and sent them out into deep space on colony ships, and (2) they're born in litters and the runts get called "Pog"
#star trek prodigy#Tellarites#star trek enterprise#and they have a feud with the Andorians (who are also underdeveloped)

when people say they can't get obsessed with female characters because there aren't enough good ones, I simply don't believe them because there are literally hundreds of fics about the guy in The Force Awakens whose only role is to cringe while Kylo Ren trashes a terminal with his lightsaber. at that point you're basically making up a whole guy.
#which means people could absolutely do the same for an underdeveloped female character if they cared#at least own up to the fact that you're just not interested instead of passing the blame entirely on to the writers#and again I must stress there ARE good female characters out there plus many that are no shallower than the fandom darling male characters#Ranger shut up

Ivan and Mizi being described as immature and childish in their moments of weakness really do a lot to me. Each of their situations and reasons are vastly different but at the core, it is hard for them to express themselves like adults, because they hadn't grown up yet...mumbles
#alien stage#alnst ivan#alien stage ivan#alnst#alien stage mizi#alnst mizi#i really like my MiziIvan paralells don't you know#Ivan being massively mentally underdeveloped and mizi being so sheltered she jus doesnt know how to handle herself when she feels so intens#im sorry my dears#I like how this post turned into a full mizi appreciation shrine lol she truly deserves it for being the sweetest

Like halfway through "how Europe underdeveloped Africa" cause I decided I'd read/listen to it after I had a strong base on knowledge on African history and just holy fuck is he right about nearly everything so far.
Having learned about how extensive African trade was prior to the 18th century and how heavily most African kingdoms shifted in the 16th it's very clear that what he points out in the way the slave trade and the need to aquire firearms grew the European economies while near completely emptying out African economies and how the hard shift to European import goods after Europe had grow through the use of African slave labor and monopoly of trade routes is still a largely still at play in the era of neocolonialism.
The way that Walter Rodney not just points out that this is true, but the depth to which he covers a variety of African kingdoms, their economies, and cultural practices puts even some college level courses to shame while also showcasing the exact ways in which some of these stronger or more expansive kingdoms like the Ashanti, oyo, borno, Kongo, and Benin kingdoms had explicitly tried everything to get guns through any other trade and how the Ashanti, merina, Ethiopian, Burundi Benin kingdoms sought our education and scholars to begin industrialization and the systematic way in which Europeans and Americans prevented that is just, well it's damming.
It's a continuing reminder how from the first stage of European expansion and control they had precisely zero good intentions for the peoples of Africa. That Europe saw Africa as nothing more than a way to grow itself, it's institutions and improve its economies by depriving Africa of labor, materials and freedom which is true to this day, most starkly in the Congo but true across the whole region.
But while the book shows the crimes of Europeans without sugar coating, it also doesn't glorify the African leaders and more importantly those that became collaborative with European despitism. It also does not abide by the word games the European powers like to play and goes in depth to the way Europeans had no actual interest in ending slavery, and that while invading the various kingdoms and communities to "end slavery" the created some of the most brutal slave conditions on this side of the globe, not just in Leopolds Congo but in French forced labor camps and British controlled regions, with the Portuguese being particularly up front about it.
Truly a shame that like most other black radicals Rodney was murdered so young. The rarity to which black radicals even get to 40 shows how desperately capitalist and white supremist try to prevent even the slightest push back from black voices. It also makes clear how much we all need to know this stuff, from debois's black reconstruction to nkrumah's neoimperialism these books give a great understanding of the past and the precise way in which we arrived to the current situation.
I pray that with the new scramble for Africa that is unfolding in front of our very faces, the genocides in the Congo, and Sudan, and the way in which these interlock with the genocide of Palestinians, that we all take the time to properly read and reflect so that we may properly organize and fight back for a fully free and sovereign Africa and Palestine and a world free from white supremacy.

i NEEDED to make a doodle of spinarakidabi with some stupid ass post final war designs but they’re wearing wedding dresses and suits. of course i decided to put spinner in a suit, and shigaraki and dabi in wedding dresses. it was supposed to be utterly satire but the more work i put into this the less unserious it seemed. IM PROBABLY MISSING SOME SCARS (maybe on shigaraki and/or spinner but whatever)
ANYWAAAY, SPINNER’S SUIT IS TATTERED CAUSE HE RANDOMLY BODY BULKED. ITS JUST FUNNY!! THEY’RE A DYSFUNCTIONAL ASS THROUPLE!!!!
It was easiest to come up with a design and be delusional with dabi cause he for the most part lived, not so much for shigaraki. probably had something to do with them defeating afo’s quirk factor or whatever of afo that just popped up near the end - let’s say midoriya says something that makes tomura lock in, or he just thinks about spinner, some stupid cliche stuff like that, and that’s why he doesn’t die.
#schpeenor#schpeenorart#spinner my wife of 35 years..#shigaraki hold me…#dabi is one beautiful man..#dabi’s got long beautiful legs and no one can tell me otherwise#my hero academia#boku no hero academia#bnha#mha#spinner#dabi#tomura shigaraki#shigaraki#shuichi iguchi#touya todoroki#spinarakidabi#shigadabispinner#spinaraki#spinneraki#spinnaraki#spindabi#spinnerdabi#dabispinner#shigadabi#dabishiga#shigaspinner#I KNOW!!! ITS CRINGY AND AN UNDERDEVELOPED STORY FOR WHY HE LIVES#BUT HEAR ME OUT!!!#shigaraki’s got a hand on spinner’s neck cause he’s tired of his shenanigans…

its actually freakish that the exploitative trade policies of the imperial core directly cause diseases like kwashiokor (abdominal distention after prolonged protein deficiency) and then we learn about them in school biology as unfortunate but unsolvable facts
#walter rodney brings up protein deficiency in the first chapter of How Europe Underdeveloped Africa and i just realised i had literally seen#pictures of it happening to dying children in textbooks when i was 14#and of course the only answer anyone has is charity and foreign aid with no interrogation of the actual causes#no teaching abt british colonialism At All. literally none.

watched the first dr who special episode and while there were a few lines that made me cringe, i do think a little bit of cringe is a reasonable price to pay for seeing a black trans girl get a starring role in the longest-running and arguably the most famous sci-fi show in history
#when it comes to mainstream queer rep i'd generally rather have media that's earnest and a little bit cringe than the alternative#not to mention the disability rep! nice to see it#rose seems like a fun character but maybe a little underdeveloped atm i hope she gets more space to branch out#CT and DT are a delight as always#doctor who#be shh now
