Harry telling Gil to move in "What's my name"
So I was rewatching that vid for like... the 100th time and noticed something that has given me a cute hc
So when Harry tells Gil to "Get over there" as the rest of the crew prepares for their dance number Gil sits down on a table but he's still closer to Harry and Uma than the rest of the "audience"
Tumblr media
Then he's not in the dance sequence at all implying he's sitting on his table watching and cheering them on from there
Tumblr media
This makes me think that when Harry asked him to move his inner monologue was something like: Okay Gilly, we gonna show off our sick moves to ye now!

best descendants songs 12-16
12. Genie In A Bottle - the concept alone is a winner. like what do you mean you took a Christina Aguilera song about sex, changed the phrase "rub me the right way" to "ask me the right way," put your female lead in a high ponytail, and called it a promo song? top marks for the audacity alone. (The audacity and the saxophone.)
Tumblr media
13. Night Falls - might be higher without the "make this metal bust a move" line. Also the dancing was just a little . . . hmmmmm . . . for Disney Channel I think. I'm far from the purity police, but that had me a little :/ Also I think the lyricist and the story writer did not coordinate at all because like what do you mean "they got us outnumbered one to fifty"? That's very specific and very wrong. It's one to three *at best.*
Tumblr media
14. Queen of Mean - really great vocals, and it's the only angry villain song we get in the trilogy, and I appreciate that. Less compelling than Uma or Maleficent's though. Its lyrics are a little jumbled, perhaps because this song has to do more than introduce a villain, it has to explain a corruption arc, and that's a delicate task outside the realm of possibility for this kids show. I do love when characters say shit like "I know exactly who to blame" because 9/10 times they are wrong.
Tumblr media
15. Set It Off - a fun closer and probably my favorite Sofia Carson vocals. Neither Dove nor Mitchell are/were dancers and it's very obvious how hard they're both trying. I find it endearing how the stage is filled with professional dancers and they're in the center just doing their best. Every time they say "oh-wei-oh-wei-hey!" it reminds me of Suite Life of Deck, which makes me laugh and takes me out of whatever the song is supposed to be saying.
Tumblr media
16. Rotten To The Core - fascinating to see Disney Channel's take on "gritty." I think there's too much autotune, especially for the opening number to the entire franchise, but the song is less about the vocals and more about the visuals. The lyrics are a hilarious attempt by Disney to say things that are bad but not that bad.

Boueibu Rewatch Part 11
Onto more episodes that I always feel go in the second half of the season...
Episode Four
Judging by the title of this one, you'd think it would be a parody of "It's a Wonderful Life."
Funny that Nanao's drinking tea in the bath. Like the Love boys never did that, probably because they were bathing with a corpse.
My mom felt all the talk of buried treasure was a reference to Oak Island?
The mysterious staircase being discovered gives me Gekkan Mousou vibes. (Along with Kingo's dad being obsessed with UMA and whatnot lol)
Why do I always feel like Kingo's gonna beat up the three students talking about buried treasure?
I love it when there's things like the way Ichiro's hand shakes in the clubroom lol
The director of the show gives big Hireashi vibes. (And what's with his pose lol) Like if Hireashi had a human form, I think he'd look something like that.
Do you think Kyoutarou's so motivated to dig for treasure because he's looking for his grade's time capsule? Like that was his goal from the beginning?
Taiju's family owning a construction company is like. The only backstory we get for him, huh? (Actually, is it even his family's company? He says "my company," so is he the CEO?)
Nanao is so devious with his letters lol
During the whole confrontation with the monster, the dad is stuck looking at his bare butt alsdkfja
Will the movie show the bath facility on Mt. Binan?
"Why not send a copy of the picture to Ata?" So after all this time...Kyoutarou just happens to have Ata's number? (And also, what do you think Ata saved Kyoutarou's profile pic as? Because there is something... Looks like orange and red vertical stripes, with some horizontal black with red stitching? And brown at the bottom?)
Episode Five
Martha randomly has bodyguards.
The little naruto in Honeo's hair when he's eating the ramen...
Love Furanui's awkwardness when saying how long they were all in the council room, watching Martha.
Wondering if Martha really had some sort of surgery to lose some of the weight, and that could be another layer of why they're pissed at Ichiro for the congratulations on the diet, not just for bringing up the past. Like Martha could be pissed they couldn't lose the weight from just dieting, so Ichiro's words are rubbing it in?
Martha's squack when eating the cookies by accident.
I like how they just left Karurusu outside the ramen shop. (And I missed the sign, but this is the same shop from Love, right?)
It's the Dirty Bubble!
"As long as you're healthy" Kyoutarou says, as if we didn't just see this guy's backstory being that any food causes him stomach upset.
I misread "Happy and Set" as "Happy and Sex" and got severe whiplash lol
Yeah, this episode definitely reads as Martha not being cis.
Episode Six
I love how Kyoutarou's really annoyed at the start lol
Funny how everyone has customized umbrellas in this episode, but in the OP they have clear vinyl umbrellas.
Kaimu is kinda like Ichiban 2.0 the way he talks to himself (also his hair color, and kind of the ahoge)
Kyoutarou's eyes opening before he says he's overheating...feels like there's something more to it...
"Be assertive... Not insertive!" (Kaimu saying he needs to be assertive versus Ichiro misunderstanding all the idioms.)
Karurusu out here doing the Totoro umbrella dance.
That song when the council came on is a bop! Also sounds like there are words to it?
Kyoutarou asking Ryouma to fill in for him...imagine if we got him doing the final attack, like EnAtsu and IoRyuu.
Also just realizing, but what are the "set" and "turn" referring to in the attack? Just thought now about it being like setting a clock and turning the hands, but it's probably something else...

I finally watched Descendants: The Rise of Red and I am........... deeply baffled and confused by so many of the storytelling choices they made here........................... But I think *puts on tinfoil hat* they could be able to save it if they have the sequel they alluded to go something like:
Red, who grew up with an abusive parent and does not at all know how to be a good little sweethearted Auradon princess, goes through her "Mal breaks down from the pressure and goes back to the Isle" arc with the added complication that she's living with someone who is a stranger to her, and she has to be a disappointment to her mother AGAIN in horrible new ways.
Meanwhile, Chloe realizes that something is DEEPLY wrong with HER OWN home situation now. Maybe Cinderella isn't married to Charming, because she was grounded on the night of the dance (because of Chloe breaking the vase) and couldn't be there to fall in love with him. So Chloe goes to meet Red and convinces her to go back in time again to fix what they messed up the first time.
Blah blah, blah blah, plot, music numbers, fight scenes with way too many unnecessary flips and somersaults, a new wig for Chloe in every scene for no discernible reason. They save the day! They find a way to get Ella to the dance AND prevent the prank on Bridget! But because of what happened the last time, they decide to check that everything's fixed with the looking glass before they hop back to the present.
And they realize that everything has gone back to the way it went the first time, before they jumped back in time at all! Because it turns out that one single prank from a group of people who already hated her WASN'T the straw that broke Bridget's back. It was the fact that her best friend Ella got a boyfriend, married into money, and dropped her entirely, leaving her friendless and vulnerable in a world of people that hate her! Red and Chloe prevented the one prank at Castlecoming, but did NOTHING to prevent further retaliation, and if Ella went to the dance and fell in love with Charming, she doesn't bother to be there to protect or console her friend in the aftermath.
And now Red and Chloe know what they have to do: They have to save their mothers' friendship in order to save Auradon! Because love and friendship and support in hard times is what REALLY saves the day, NOT stopping a few horrible people from doing ONE horrible thing and then dipping out because it's all good now.
They go back to the present, Red tells her mom the truth of what happened, they hug (and the Queen of Hearts mourns the daughter that SHE remembers raising who she is never going to see again, but shh, this is a Disney movie so that bit's glossed over and tossed to people like me who think WAY to hard about the implications of kids movies). In this timeline, Ella and Bridget remember meeting Chloe and Red in the past, because it isn't immediately overshadowed by meeting the love of her life/losing her best friend. Everyone reconciles, and the moms tell their kids that they're proud of them.
Cue big sappy dance number that actually feels earned this time rather than being a payoff for absolutely nothing, and then some little thing goes wrong in the background of the dance number and this time either Red or Chloe gets to say the sequel-baity "Oh, you didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?" line while looking right into the camera. Credits roll to the sound of another China-Anne McClain cover of a classic Disney song despite the fact that Uma was barely in the movie because she's the only cast member who can actually sing.
THE END!

Descendants: Rise of Red was a time!!
I'm not as fond of this one as I was of the original trilogy (I miss the original VK gang), BUT some highlights (spoilers rampant):
Queen of Hearts dressed in the most insane rose dress with glittering red claws on every finger and three full dimensions of eye make-up: "My awful daughter, your outfit is so tacky, god, you're embarrassing me"
Red's mom is in charge of a brutal totalitarian regime, but Red rebels by uhhhh throwing paint on her mom's portrait
Red: "GOD I can't STAND my MOM I want to live my OWN LIFE I gotta GET OUT OF HERE" -- Honey YOUR MOM IS KILLING PEOPLE and you're just gonna DITCH Wonderland?? Fuck all your subjects I guess??
In the Wonderland car, the Queen isn't wearing her seatbelt but Red IS wearing her seatbelt--this franchise is really improving its bad person/good person seatbelt visual cues
Loved Chloe's design, loved her relationship with her parents, loved that she is so sparkly and sweet and also great at fencing. Characters learning to shift from a Lawful Good mindset to Neutral Good are my favorite. No notes, perfect character.
Also love that Chad was retconned into the Brandi Cinderella and Prince Charming family!! 10/10 for recreating the multiracial family from the Brandi movie AND, like the original, providing no explanation for how that happened.
"Please welcome your new incoming principal who will, of course, be performing a song and dance number in celebration of her promotion."
Delighted to see we are continuing the time-honored tradition of queer Captain Hook (Also delighted to see him serving AVPM Snape vibes with every single acting choice god BLESS)
"We wanted another bad-ass Ursula-themed villain but we can't use Uma again so here's Ursula's little sister (not an in-universe Uma expy for sure)" (They didn't even use Ursula?? for some reason??)
Did love the deep cut of giving Morgana le Fay a son in this one; I think the only Disney movie that references her is The Sorcerer's Apprentice? Expanded DCU time hell yeah (Also, he's definitely a replacement for Gil/Gaston's son from the main trilogy; in that vein, I expect sweet and gently queer fanart of him and the Hook character, don't disappoint me tumblr)
Love that this movie further muddies the already muddy canon of the Descendants universe since here the original Disney stories never happen as implied in Descendants 1-3. The villain parents go from having their canon, Disney-compliant origin stories to being in a greaser gang together in high school.
Two best girl friends going to prom together & one of them saying, "I hate everything about the institution of prom but I'll go if it's with you" but five feet apart so it's not gay
It's killing me that Red and Chloe never consider going to the prom, grabbing the cupcake, and eating it before Bridget can. They instead come up with a whole 4D chess solution involving theft and espionage, bless them
Chloe: "I don't want to break any rules. :(" Ella: "Sometimes you gotta FUCK SHIT UP" [dance break]
New levels of queerbaiting unlocked if Red and Chloe don't end up as a couple, I mean GOD. The motifs of healing from abusive/close-minded parental relationships + wanting love and not being able to recognize it/being scared of it + "You show me what it means to be a good person" + "You're the first person to see and accept me for who I am" + enemies to BFFs to "I'll instinctively save your life in a fight" BUT NOT IN A QUEER WAY OF COURSE
Screaming at the Back to the Future situation where MC suddenly has a completely different relationship with their family and NO memory of it omg.

Chapter 14 Episode 3 Part 2:
We start with narration about the Beast Tamers. Their goal is to control the "Rule", which was not fulfilled in their respective home worlds. Most of them have the bitter experience of hurting someone in their home world due to the unintended runaway of their powers. The policy of the guild is to "suppress each other's abilities" through matching that would have been impossible in their home world. The Beast Tamers gave each member a new, temporary role of Tamer and Beast. And combined with "Rule", it barely restrained its recklessness. They have had some success in stabilizing it. In the Ueno Guild, there was one person called "Yuma". This name was not one he was born with. It was added later by members of the Field Academy Research Institute. "UMA" or unidentified animal. Yuma is a pun from that name. Yuma thinks to himself "I should have been born as a beastman, not a human."
Tumblr media
We cut to back to see Barrong and Amduscias arriving at the scene. Amduscias said he’s not ready yet. Barrong said Life's big stage is always something that doesn't wait. Anyone at anytime, before you know it, you'll be assigned a role and you'll be standing on a stage somewhere. We have no choice but to continue dancing within the "roles" given in advance. Amduscias noticed Yuma, who is fighting Nyarl and Boogeyman. Boogeyman said Yuma is desperate to prove himself as a fellow beastman by helping his comrades. However, that desperation is the flip side of the hidden fear. Boogeyman uses the monolith (from Arc’s character quest) to show Yuma’s hidden story. Flashback to a certain point in Ueno. Hastur tells Yuma that this place isn’t for human. The place they’re in is a anti-biological hazard low temperature experiment facility. An area for storing and isolating dangerous biological samples. The cold doesn’t bother beastmen transients but human on the hand tho. Yuma said he’s a fellow member of the Beast Tamers and wants to help too but he slips and fall. Pazuzu also tells Yuma this place is bad. Yuma can use his "Sacred Artifact" to become a Beastman. However, there was no one in the Ueno Guild who could control it. No, to be precise, even the Ueno Guild's research has yet to reveal the identity of Yuma's “Rule”. The Monolith digs further into Yuma’s past. Yuma wants it to stop. Flashback some more, No matter how many times he repeated the experiment, he could only confirm that this body was that of a human being. He’s sure there must be something wrong with him. Yuma continues to waver in his identity, that is, "proof that he is himself". Yuma loved everyone around the Ueno Guild. He wanted to be like everyone else. Only the feeling of isolation grew. He wants someone to tell him what exactly is he. There was no one around him who could share the same feelings as Yuma, or who could control his rage. After that, the same thing happened again and again, and eventually Yuma built a cage for himself and shut himself up. He can't think of anything other than suppressing himself before he go out of control, before he hurt someone. The chance to get out of that cage little by little, the number decreased and became countless. “I'm a beast, I'm a beast” he keeps reappearing to himself. The memories were too much for Yuma and he reverted back to his human form. Amduscias recognized him. Yuma was one of the people who came to see him during his Underground Idol performance. Nyarl and Boogeyman started to approach Yuma. Amduscias was about to stop them but then Hastur and Pazuzu showed up to help Yuma. Beasttamers vs Entertainers start!
Tumblr media
After the battle, Hastur recognized that the yellow mask man is Nyarlathotep. More Entertainers reinforcement show up but the Wanderers members appear to help create a escape route for the Beasttamers. They disappeared into the ground thanks to Gurangatch’s ability. Some time later, Yuma wakes up. He wants to go back and save Leib and the others. Pazuzu tells him to calm down a little and that’s there’s a job that only he, the Guildmaster, can do. Now it’s the Beasttamers’ turn to help the Wanderers.

Descendants: The Rise of Red Trailer Drop
Tumblr media
Brace yourselves, folks! Disney Plus is back at it again with another banger. The new addition to the wildly popular Descendants franchise, "Descendants: The Rise of Red," is about to drop, and trust me, you don't want to miss this one. Premiering on July 12, this music-driven Disney Original movie is set to stream exclusively on Disney Plus. And if you’re late to the party, there’s an encore on August 9 on Disney Channel. So, what's all the hype about? "Descendants: The Rise of Red" has dropped its official trailer and key art, and it's everything you’d expect and more. The film brings back some of our favorite VKs (that’s Villain Kids for the uninitiated) with a fresh storyline that's as exciting as it is nostalgic. https://youtu.be/3Pk4-lzowDM The spotlight this time is on Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts from Wonderland. Red gets an invite to Auradon Prep from none other than Uma, the school's new principal and former VK. But things get twisted when Red and Chloe, Cinderella’s daughter, have to travel back in time to stop a coup initiated by Red’s mom. Talk about a mother-daughter bonding experience, right? Star-Studded Cast This installment boasts a star-studded cast featuring Brandy, Rita Ora, Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, China Anne McClain, and more. Yep, you read that right! Brandy is in the house! And let’s not forget the musical numbers because there are seven new original songs. There are even some fan favorites from previous Descendants movies. The soundtrack for "Descendants: The Rise of Red" is set to drop on the same day as the movie, July 12, and it’s already available for preorder. Expect some earworms that you'll be humming long after the credits roll. The score is composed by Torin Borrowdale, with Ashley Wallen choreographing the dance numbers. If past Descendants movies are anything to go by, the musical performances are going to be lit. A Quick Look Back For those new to the franchise, the Descendants series kicked off with the children of famous Disney villains trying to fit into a world of heroes. Over the years, it has grown into a cultural phenomenon, combining catchy tunes, dazzling choreography, and heartfelt storytelling. With each movie, the series has expanded its universe and deepened its characters, making every installment a fresh yet familiar adventure. "Descendants: The Rise of Red" is set to be another hit for Disney Plus, blending nostalgia with fresh, exciting content. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the Descendants universe, this movie promises a thrilling ride filled with music, magic, and a whole lot of heart. Don’t miss it – July 12 on Disney Plus, with a special encore on August 9 on Disney Channel. Tune in and join Red and Chloe on their time-traveling quest to save the day. Read the full article

Fanuary Fan Art #10
Welcome welcome, to Number 10! I'm so so happy to see you again :)
This post is whimsical and full of rhyme, but who cares? It's gifting time!!!
@knavestrolls here me, I will take no refusal; I've made a portrait for your perusal!
Tumblr media
The most recent fortune advised Beauje in advance,
To make like Uma Thurman, and do a silly dance.
This was a riot to make as I'm normal about this creature, but given Dave's track record this is no surprising feature. :) Given his was the genesis of this whole endeavour, I did not want to make my show of high regard too clever.
I've known this lovely artist for over a year now; their content is engaging and their attitude is wow! Ever-giving and ever-trying, they might not always feel seen, but they've been as good of a friend as I would hope to glean.
Thank you for the times and talks, all the joys aplenty, and never be afraid to chat if you're getting bored or venty. My poetry is growing stale so I'll try to cut it here, but thanks for all you've done, my pal! I hope I made it clear ^^;
===
Eleven around the bend, see you next time friends!!!

Something to keep in mind the next time you listen to the Fall Out Boy song Uma Thurman:
Pee Wee Herman has the same number of syllables as Uma Thurman.
You're welcome.
I can't get the image that comes unbidden from the lyrics "she wants to dance like Pee Wee Herman" out of my head and now neither can you.

Since you been so mean and continuous and idiot Oblivion we're going to fix your wagon and take you for a ride and several of you deserve it of it right now and we don't want to hear any s*** out of you I'm going to fix your damn wagon. One way that that's going to happen:
--the caverns at Charlotte Park are dropping everyday only a couple inches we've been tracking it and when rain comes down the level of water at Sea is very high it is probably getting close now closer and closer to going up and over and in just a few days it might actually be submerged at this rate it's going to happen and a week from now at the farthest or a few days at the least and you never really survive this kind of radiation and you're trying to recovering you don't Donald Trump has severe cancer he is a desperate loser and he had covid and they're trying to say he's still does and he is a massive a****** to people and he doesn't even act human and he hasn't his whole life and he's just a very mean person we're getting ready to counter his stuff but armies were here have begun already and they're taking him apart we are going to take him apart as well and we're beginning to get ready now and we're going to start the process momentarily.
--we have about 50,000 infiltrators no we have a huge number of infiltrators headed here it's a very large number and it's coming very quickly and it will be here very soon and yeah that lady is trying to go for the male same shoes Uma Thurman and she's not and she has been an even person to him for a long time so forget these things I understand what you're saying and you're wrong and it is his annual benefits letter and it's an increase how about $60 and an increase in deductions of $10
When he was in Buffalo they did not file the paperwork correctly and they said that he didn't have an income and they're trying to say that he's an indigent guy he came from nowhere and he's saying are you people f****** nuts everybody knows who I am in town they're all the higher ups and they're different people and she'll shut your mouth so what the f*** for I can piss you off and go to a different housing people persons and have more money why the f*** why the f*** am I even talking to you she looks around and she says how many people know about this and they said we're being harassed by everybody some of us are getting hurt severely and it's because we know about it and we know about you and we're different crew she lives in right in the eye and she says then you're dead it says no I don't think so and we're going to act on that and it was Sarah she says I know that you're just a little girl inside and you don't understand what I'm saying but what you doing up here is a job for the empire and they're saying I took the low road and I'm a bad boy later they have a huge plan they have a giant giant giant Force even compared to the foreigners and US combined you are an essient and you are ignorant and negligent and what you have now gets taken away in 2 years from your idiot and he's an idiot and we know why it was forced on him and he is practically useless lets it all go for a scream no just for a little sign and dance she says how am I going to get out of it it says I don't know how am I going to get out of here this pre-programmed thing is made for someone who's a thousand years or older and you guys can't handle it and Mr stone is worse Mac is a constant question you need to talk to someone so she looks and says okay then and he says let us out of here and our senses you forgotten how to read this is not nice but I think you're right he started showing him stuff and like the streets were on and where we are and what we're wearing and who are talking to it is a massive game it's almost completely run by the empire and he goes to Todd you know this never doesn't damn thing and you guys forget if you tell the foreigners so start possibly getting into it might cost everybody but who cares we're seeing the world and Todd we are saving everybody from this menace cuz the foreigners end up engaging and find what I call the pseudo empire over their fat asses in the way they've got information on these guys that's real between the two things because a lot of this code is about foreigners we might have something that's right our own bank accounts. It smiles and says you're right so he started working on it and he says and he started tossing it out and he's putting it out to them and they start looking and the wheels started to turn and she says I can't help but say that we are proud of our two boys here and we've been suffering and he says you're this insulator and it works but who wants to go through life being insulation and now we're doing it again so I'm going to print this is really important

Hire a poet. Poetry not only found a place in industrial machines, but also became the melody that orchestrated the solution of complex problems.
In an industrial city where metal gears moved at a frantic pace, a company found itself facing a seemingly insurmountable logistical challenge. It was an industry of creating intricate parts, but machines and workers faced constant delays in the delivery of raw materials essential for production.
Desperate for a solution, company leaders decided to seek unconventional help and hired a renowned poet known for his unique ability to solve problems in creative ways. The poet, called Alessandro, immersed himself in the gears and processes of the industry, absorbing the logistical challenges.
Alessandro, instead of focusing only on metrics and numbers, saw the poetic essence of the problems. He understood that, just as in poetry, each piece of industry played a fundamental role in the overall narrative of production. The machines were stanzas, the workers were verses, and the raw materials were the words that formed industrial poetry.
The poet began reciting verses about the harmony of production, highlighting the interconnectedness of each part in the great poem of manufacture. Inspired by his words, workers began to notice synergies between processes, identifying opportunities for optimization that previously went unnoticed.
Alessandro also brought a poetic touch to inventory management. Instead of complex spreadsheets and graphs, he proposed creating a "waiting garden" where raw materials would wait their turn to enter the production line. Each pallet of material was precisely placed, forming an aesthetically pleasing arrangement that surprisingly improved workflow efficiency.
Over time, Alessandro's poetic solution not only solved the logistical problems, but also transformed the atmosphere of the factory. Workers found a new appreciation for the complex dance of production, and the company began to be recognized not only for the quality of its parts, but also for the uniqueness of its process.
The story of the poetic solution spread beyond the confines of the industry, and Alessandro became a sought-after consultant, applying his poetic approach to challenges across diverse sectors. Thus, in an unlikely turn of events, poetry not only found a place in industrial machines, but also became the melody that orchestrated the solution of complex problems.

So given the early reprise of an established song from the franchise, and the Cinderella/Charming scene where they clearly wanted to do an entire musical number and then just didn't, I feel like this was supposed to be a TV show instead of a movie. One where they had more time to rework numbers from earlier movies and put them in, as well as adapt the musical style of classic numbers. I have to wonder if something got in the way of production, like a strike or even a building maintenance issue or something?
As the movie progressed, I got the feeling their initial assumptions about the dance would be proven wrong, and it would turn out something more like: Ella poisoned one of the villains' cupcakes for revenge. And then Bridget learned she couldn't trust anyone, so she turned evil, and in regret, Cinderella became kinder and more careful. And that maybe you'd have to deal with a whole one mom is better but one mom is worse kind of deal? Or else it was going to be that the villains actually targeted Red, and then Bridget stuck up for her, and her mom really was doing everything to protect her since the beginning and then she forgives her mom or whatever. And also stops her from doing a coup somehow presumably.
I would say Uma does have teaching experience, as it's pretty clear that she taught her minions a lot of more strictly school related subjects to the best of her ability. Like obviously she taught them how to do Musical Interlude Crimes, but I'm pretty sure she taught them strictly academic things as well, just not as formally as in a boarding school. I think her speech was meant to convince us that she has managerial skills, though, which are different from teaching skills, and more necessary to run a school. She also may be supposed to be somewhat older, given the time skip intro?
I was also convinced that the plots of all the various movies (roughly) happened, however, given that they decided to retcon that and go full HS AU, I do think taking on Parents' Day makes sense. If Cinderella's ball is the Castlecoming Dance, then the international peace summit this kind of plot point would normally take place at should definitely be Parents' Weekend or something.
I'm pretty sure the fish is meant to reference Pinocchio.
I think Morgan le Fay was implied to exist in Sword in the Stone (1963), in that there were a lot of loose ends that really seemed to be there to be dealt with later, like in a sequel or series of films. (I don't know, it's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember liking Arthurian legend and not feeling she was strictly missing from the story. I think she was Merlin's colleague/old classmate that he complains about.)
However: Morgie can't be Mordred because Mordred isn't evil yet as of the time period in this movie. They've gone with the version of events where he's a very close brother to Arthur, who shares everything with him, and then eventually grows jealous and betrays him. I can tell because his name is written on the round table with the names of the other knights, which of course would be scoured off after the betrayal.
Or else he's reformed already???
Also. "Flamingo feathers are rare" No????
Descendants 4 really just doesn't have an ending huh
