i really wanted to draw attention to this scene here. puss has quite a few panic attacks in this movie, which are undeniably relatable for so many, but in this particular instance, he has perrito to help him calm down and breathe and i think that's so great.

i just love the way it's not made into a joke, or brushed aside as though it's not something that's important to show - especially for someone as confident as puss in boots! the story actually takes a moment for puss to reflect and breathe and talk to someone about his fear. he's made very real and that was a huge deal for me. (இ﹏இ`｡)

So Paige’s parents got divorced when she was a toddler and left in father’s care. He remarried so P has a step mom. She remarries so P has a stepdad. And step siblings. But then both parents divorce again leaving Paige with no examples of stability in loving relationships and family dynamics. Then she meets a girl who also has family trauma to some degree.

Like literally thank god they found each other. Breaking generational trauma with their love.

I honestly think it's kind of insane how much they've both dealt with, family-wise, injury-wise, just everything-wise. And for them to have come out from all of that and still be the wonderful, amazing people they are is something so admirable. I'd like to think finding each other so young really shaped that growth.
