hey, thanks for the kind words. i'll admit that i kinda forgot for a while that daily demon spotlight was meant to be a blog for fun above all, and i got too obsessed with my perfectionism to where even the slightest criticism would make me panic and overcorrect everything

i really do appreciate what you said as it kinda just grounded me again and made me realize that i'm not some giant public figure, i'm just some teenage trans girl who likes to write, so thank you so much even if you didn't intend it to be that deep lmao 🙏

well im glad i could help 🥰 i've gotten the perfectionism bug with my own writing so i know how much it really sucks. i think it's also scary on the internet where people are increasingly becoming mean to people they don't know over even small things, so it prob feels like you're risking getting huge backlash over something that isn't all that difficult to fix. like, the demon spotlight is just a hobby blog covering figures that appear in a game series that in itself has questionable information and unclear sources, it's not an official compendium blog run by atlus yknow??? i get not wanting to spread misinformation or see it get spread ab mythological figures but for a hobby blog where it's not difficult to add to posts, i don't think it needs to be all that deep. don't be afraid to add an addendum to old posts if you ever come across new information or a correction, i think that kind of thing could be beneficial even if the original post had a lot of incorrect stuff in it

plus, with so many different retellings and translations of mythological stories i think people will consider different ones to be their "canon" to them. i mean like, i read ab two or three different takes just on ganesha's birth in a little section ab parvati in a book discussing a ton of different goddesses. and with language barriers and such, you're bound to run into inaccuracies tbh

i think it's a good preface for everyone involved to come into this understanding that it's easy to unknowingly run into wrong information ab figures, smt is full of inaccuracies in itself, the demon spotlight is just a hobby and isn't gonna get thesis-level work put into it, and the goal isn't to spread misinformation

as long as you keep doing your best in research and handling things as respectfully as you can, i don't think mistakes should be a huge deal. like, yea okay you fucked up a post cus you had bad sources, it's not the end of the world and i don't think you should feel like it's the end of the world or someone else should make you feel that way. just don't argue with people if they give you a correction. i mean, if someone's a total asshole about it that's not really something you can help, the best you can do is apologize and correct the original post. but there's no need to wallow in sorrow cus you got something wrong, it's really not the end of the world🥰👍

#the demon spotlight is a place to learn ab mythology in a fun way #and part of the learning process is correcting old info based on new info #its become a little easier to get over the perfectionism bug since i write about my own culture #so i can kinda do whatever the fuck i want (within reason) with our own mythology #but its still hard to deal with so i really do get it #i thought ab starting a blog like this myself but i didnt really have the time or energy for it #so seeing someone do this and start to waver #cus of mistakes that arent too difficult to fix is esp painful #so im glad i could help u feel better #also if youre not using it already i really encourage u to try finding sources thru ur school library's online database #they have access to things that r generally a little more reliable #i prob sound like an old person begging kids to use their libraries but you really can find some interesting things there #and online will have a lot more things than in person #a highschool might not have as much as a college would but its still worth trying out maybe???????#or dont............i wont tell you what to do lmao #oops im a certified yapper sorryyyy(lying)

ig i just personally dont rlly vibe w ppl who think that merely saying 'i wish they died' just to lighten the heavy weight of their overwhelming emotions (that they cant control may i add) is the same thing as actively actually murdering someone 💀

#did u know that venting can actually make someone feel a bit better and less inclined to act on thoughts.....#when u create environment in society where u force everyone to supress and hide all their ugly thoughts and emotions #those feelings will grow stronger and stronger and poison you #and that's why ppl eventually explode when it cant be contained anymore #ppl expressing things - that they prob dont even mean or want to be true or a reality #is nowhere near the same thing as ppl acting on it or causing others harm #but then also i am of the opinion that *everyone* deserves help and treatment. ppl shouldnt be discarded and labeled as broken or crazy #sm ppl have overwhelming emotions they cant control bc all of our brains are different. there should be *quality* help available for everyo #instead we live in a society that shames ppl. that push ppl into boxes and say #if u dont fit into this tiny neat little square u are ugly broken disgusting and reprihensible!!!#then they just banish u to the shadows where they dont have to see u or look at u #anyway this is a whole society thing that is connected to this issue in my braib #brain*#what i was gonna say was that i personally think venting and expressing your thoughts - no matter how ugly they are #is necessary for humans. esp when it's in a space where the potential target of the thoughts wont see #esp when there are no plans of taking yhe thoughts into action #asl long as u can separate complaining and venting ur frustrations and causing someone (undeserved) harm irl #thats just who i am and this is my blog and i dont appreciate ppl telling me #that i have to shove it all back inside and im not allowed to express anything #if you're a wasp who thinks everything should be bottled up. that everything should be expressed delicately #then u do you. but you do not tell me that i have to conform to your ways. i find your ways harmful and regressive #so maybe we should just go our separate ways huh? everyone arent meant to get along #theres no use in arguing or fighting or reprimanding ppl everytime u see smth u dont agree with #esp when all u see is a *thought* that causes no material harm to another person. then u should just be on ur merry way

I am once again begging online shop payment processing companies to allow me to enter a separate name for shipping and separate name for billing!!

It's the same address, I'm just trans and have not legally changed my personal name, but I still prefer to receive mail as my preferred name! Like it's literally my professional name, I do business as my preferred name.

Annoying as fuck, and I don't want to chance my bank rejecting the payment (though I'm sure someone at my bank has put a note to allow it on my account by now, since I've contacted them a couple times before when I realized too late that the billing section didn't let me input another "address/name" section, and they said the payment was fine in those cases.)

Anyway, legal name changes should be free and non-advertised for everyone. Tbh, you should get a free name change every time you file your taxes on time as an incentive for good citizen behaviour. Once I am elected pres-

#i have never read the books but ive just watched the first 2 narnia movies #it was def my first time seeing prince caspian idk ab the other narnia i probs watched it as a kid #but he..... he is calling me #mr doomed blonde twink who makes poor choices but is doing his best....... welcome back all my muses #i was gonna say welcome back kurt but... tate... levi.... probably more #ive never been. ok i actually need ot ramble ab that wip

#ghosts rambles #in the tags ofc. smiles #no cause i have been DYING to actually animate something and the thought popped into my mind the other day #like i was rereading the isolation imagine and i was seeing it play out vividly in my head and i just. what if i animated that #i had a couple hours to kill tonight and i was stupid bored so i got to drawing !#the good thing about this is that i dont really have to quote on quote animate???#like no over the top frame by frame stuff. its a lot of still frames and only slight movements #or repeating ones #there was only 15 storyboard images i did for this so i think that says a lot #plus i like leaving it at a cliffhanger technically. u get to imagine how they work it out ^-^#there's 11 unique backgrounds i have to do and Hopefully the editing of frames wont be hard. like the phone turning on and off #and light sources from like the sun outside w choro or the light from the shades in ghosts bedroom #and obviously this will take a while. like i cant promise a definitive date of when itll be done #earliest is like prob by the end of november depending on my schedule and motivation #OK RAMBLE OVER. if u have any questions feel free to ask ^-^ i heart talking
