congrats on 100 followers !! slut by taylor swift, but more specifically the lyrics âin a world of boys, heâs a gentlemenâ reminds me of seungcheol !! đ«¶đŒ
the wrong place at the right time and i break down, and then he's pullin' me in in a world of boys, he's a gentleman
wc <1k. warnings cursing (reader does indeed get called a slut), mentions of death, guns, violence, some blood, hurt/comfort. jayâs musings thank u thank u anon!! ;w; sorry i kind of got carried away,,, the way my imagination took this song and RAN WITH IT,, these lines fit cheollie sm omg⊠totally did not fantasize a whole fic w this LOL hope u enjoy!!
Youâre running.
Trees whip past you, your shoes hitting the muddy ground harshly. Your breath comes out in short gasps. Thereâs a gunshot somewhere behind you but you donât dare look back. Looking back means hesitating, and hesitation means death.
You just canât catch a damn break, can you?
Itâs just past blue hour, the vast sky above beginning to twinkle with stars. If you were anywhere else youâd take the liberty to stare up in amazement, pointing out what constellations were in view and being granted the reward of hearing a soft murmur of approval from Seungcheol beside you.
The thought is the only thing keeping you sensible at the moment.
You hadnât meant to alert the robbers as they canoodled around their fire, planning their next big heist. Your foot had slipped, the gun in your grasp falling to the forest floor as you winced. Seungcheolâs eyes widened from across the clearing.
It was a miscalculation of just how slippery the ground had become from the storm; a misstep, a mistake.
The robbersâ heads snapped up at once, and all hell had broken loose soon after.
You didnât know where Seungcheol was. Your partner had barked out something to you the second the robbers were alerted, but it was lost to the wind as you ran for your life.
Coward, you cry internally as the shouts and heavy footsteps of the men grow closer. You shouldnât have ran. You messed up big time. Seungcheol could be dead because of you.
Coward, coward, coward.
Thereâs a loud curse somewhere from your right. You push through a bush, panic overtaking you. Thorns prickle you through your uniform and draw blood. Your lungs burn.
Tears are clouding your vision, and before you know it, youâre cornered.
Bark scrapes your back as youâre hoisted up by the collar, the muzzle of a gun cold and pressing to your throat. You bite back a whimper.
âYouâre a pretty one, arenât ya?â the criminal jeers from underneath his hood.
His voice is scratchy and his breath stinks of alcohol. Youâre frozen in place, not daring to move a muscle.
âMaybe I should have a little fun before the finale,â he mutters, digging the gun further into your skin. âWould ya like that, slut?â
Before you can answer, a resounding crack! sounds. You watch as a fist flies into the side of the manâs head, a powerful kick following soon after. The robberâs grip loosens as he falls to the ground, blood pooling from his mouth.
You sink to the floor with a sob.
âHey, hey,â Seungcheolâs voice is a welcome contrast to the roughness that handled you just moments before. âIâm here. Iâm right here.â
He settles you against the tree, turned away from the unconscious man, his warm hands rubbing soothing circles along your knuckles.
âDid he hurt you? Tell me, did he hurt you? Are you injured anywhere?â
You shake your head, biting your lip and curling in on yourself. Your partner notices a scratch on your cheek and wipes the streaking blood away with his thumb. Seungcheol cups your face in his gloved hand, eyes watery.
âIâm sorry,â you croak out. âI ruined the investigation. I almost got us killed.â
âNo, no, no,â your name falls off his tongue like itâs sacred. âDonât think thatâplease, donât think that. Thatâs not whatâs important right now. What matters is that youâre safe, and alive.â
Seungcheol brings you close to him, holding you tightly. The organization back at base will have so much to criticize, you want to wail into his chest. Iâll be deemed a failure right out of training and Iâll bring you down with me. Iâm so sorry.
Instead, you weakly sniffle and pull away, tears staining your face and hair. Seungcheol eagerly wipes them away as he tends to your cuts.
You momentarily forget youâre in the middle of the woods, gun lost and criminals hot on your trail. The heat of his touch brings back some feeling to your senses, enveloping you in the scent of his cologne and the shaky press of his lips to the crown of your head.
Fuck the operation, his kiss says. The operation never matters more than your safety.
Never.

I've been reading a lot of your AU, and I was wondering if Timmy has interacted with the genie Norm? What would their interaction be like?
He has! But only once. Timmy had to release Norm to let him know that he was being sent back down to Earth, as per the Genie-Fairy Treaty.
Norm was very very annoyed to hear that his 20 years of plotting has been thrown down the drain, what with Timmy becoming a Fairy. But, hey, it just means he has all of eternity to find something to make Timmy's life worse! Or just to make him suffer.
Afterwords, Norm's lamp was thrown back to Earth for any person to find.

When you have a very strong one-sided grudge against a specific videogame franchise both your brothers are big fans of because it won't stop copying everything from different folklores and cultures and mythologies and history and stories of specific places
#Genshin. genshin when i catch#SUMERU WHEN I FUCKING CATCH YOU#i forgave the deal with Al-Heithem but now i slowly learns that over half the world building and lore of that place is directly copy pasted#told my brother the bit of stpry of Umroyaar.#and he immediately went ' uhhh appi. you're gonnq hate this but..'#guess what? oh yeah. the infamous Zambeel was also copied. great. that isn't even folklore . Those r popular fantasty#stories from my parents' childhood#sorry genshin fans plz don't mind ne much I'm having a moment here abt so many different things. stories and folklore and other franchises#etc that this game just took and make it their own#there's a difference b/w world building elements & the lore#I'm seeing both being taken here#well... like i said earlier don't mind me too much#just a girl from south asia getting upset abt her region's centuries old mythology & folklore being copied#u wouldn't understand my pain đ

i feel the need to reassure also that im exaggerating my mistakes a bit but it's like. almost like an exposure therapy thing.
#when i say i've been 'bad/done 'bad things' it is probably more accurate to say#ive made my share of mistakes that were not made with any hurtful intention#but were motivated from a deeply ill place of fear and panic and guilt#that i wasnt capable of analyzing or stepping back from in the moment#but still caused some level of upset to my loved ones#made me someone painfully difficult to have a non-judgmental conversation with#and centered my opinions on right and wrong above anybody else's leading to fretful and almost controlling behavior#definitely at least domineering. even if it was smthn i would speak out about anxiously or with genuine concern#like 'im worried u saying this means u believe this and thats something i dont morally agree with'#which to me. i couldnt see it that way until i was out of the fucking smog#to me in that moment it was the end of the world#i literally created my own personal hell and then when i got close to people they would inevitably find their way down there#undeserving of any of it#my brain sucks so fucking bad but i cant blame it on that really and truly#i need to have it just fucking stop#star's thoughts

#vanu is rambling#ok idk this is gonna b a happy post but i think there are lots of people who love me in this world. or at least enjoy my presence.#like i always always always ALWAYS doubt if my friends or family like me and in my head they all secretly hate me#but like for these past couple months things have been different.#i donât feel so left out (like i usually do in groups) or alone.#like my friends genuinely want me there like they always ask me to go places with them. and i almost always say no because im so busy or#i just cant but they still ask me everytime. yesterday the whole group was calling and playing a game and i got a bunch of texts like hey#where are you u shud join the call itâs rly fun ! but i just couldnât bring myself to talk to anyone at that moment.#today they were rly happy when i joined the call and idk it made me feel like. oh. maybe my friends do like me#and also i have two moods: iâm either super talkative or i go into my little shell and donât say anything/add to a convo. and like during#those moments theyâll be like hey u ok? or theyâll just listen to me talk about ceramics and how fun it is or how much i hate eating pears#and like. we laugh so much together. like i have so much fun with all of them i love every single one of them omg#and scary thing is we might not even be friends after we start college. but yk what? thatâs okay i donât wanna think about that.#because like who cares? iâm not gonna let my fears ab the future ruin my friendships. iâll always love them anyways. and weâll always call.#iâm glad i met them. theyâre all such beautiful and funny and amazing strong willed-people. they are my friends.#itâs just so crazy to me that they willingly want to spend time w me and are sad when i canât. and theyâre so understanding at the same time#they donât get mad about it. and like they have mad eng last year in high school so much more enjoyable.#someone told me that this is ur last year do things so when you look back you donât regret anything- so you can be proud of what you did#and my friends helped me with that. and like i still feel lonely the majority of the class because despite this thereâs like a permanent#stain of sadness right there at the bottom of my heart. but they make the hard days more manageable.#like iâve been on call with these people until ungodly hours at night just laughing and i go to sleep feeling a bit lighter.#they introduced me to the tech side of theater which i never thought iâd get into but here i am. they teach me silly facts and words in asl.#they taught me dances- knowing full well i SUCK at it- because we all had fun with it. theyve taught me itâs OKAY to be vulnerable in#friendships and that sometimes being open/yourself is quite literally the best thing you can do for your own soul and others. theyâre cool#people really. really cool people

THE MANEATER CHAPTER NINE: diet pepsi

"Man, I swear she's the one who asked me."
Iwaizumi believes him. Thatâs the worst part. Actually, the worst part is this odd pang he gets in his chest. He doesnât have the right to feel betrayed, and yet, here he is, feeling betrayed and jealous and pushing some random man out the door just because she batted her eyelashes at him.
Heâs fucked. Iwaizumiâs totally fucked.
âDonât care. Clubâs closed, go home,â Iwaizumi instructs, tone cold and detached. And before pretty boy can respond, heâs closing the doors in his face and locking them, more than ready for this fucking night to be over with.
Sheâs in their spot, sitting on a milk crate, cigarette hanging lazily from her lips, in one of her ridiculous outfits. Iwaizumi sighs at the sight of her; her drunkenness is evident in the way her limbs hang from her, sloppily, like theyâre hardly connected to her at all. He doesnât try to convince himself heâs not worried. Iwaizumiâs past that point.
She offers no reaction as he pulls up his milk crate to sit beside her, she just pulls the cigarettes away and breaths out a line of smoke. âRough night?â Iwaizumi asks.
âFuck off,â she mumbles, but thereâs none of her usual bite to it. âThanks for getting that guy off me. I changed my mind about thirty seconds in.â
Iwaizumi squirms. âYeah, I could tell.â
They sit in silence for a moment. Iwaizumi doesnât move. Heâs never quite seen her like this before. Quiet and solemn. Even with a drink thrown in her face she was blubbering and expressive and loud. Now her expression is straight and unwavering, her words a pitch lower than they usually are. He doesnât know how to deal with her like this.
âI got into an argument with Kiyoko,â she offers suddenly, and Iwaizumi tilts his head to look directly at her. âWas my fault, for sure. But she wants to quit, get her own place. She said sheâs tired of this lifestyle.â
Iwaizumi watches her face for any give or any sort of tell. But she doesnât flinch or twitch and thereâs no watering in her eyes and this feels suddenly more severe than any other conversation theyâve had. He shifts and pulls out a cigarette of his own. âAnd, to you,â Iwaizumi starts, flicking at the end of his lighter, âthis lifestyle is sorta synonymous with you, right?â
She turns her head to glare at him. She looks tired, that coating of makeup on her face doing little to conceal the dark bruises under her eyes. âDonât be a dick about it.â
âIâm not being a dick about it,â he contests gently, exhaling smoke. âIâd be upset too.â
âYou would?â
He nods. âYeah. It fucking sucks when it feels like people are moving on from you.â
Her head drops, and her eyes find the ground. âSheâs my best friend. I was mean to her.â
Iwaizumi does something unexpected then. He doesnât realize heâs doing it until heâs already done it, but he raises his arm and throws it over her shoulder, pulling her and her milk crate closer to him as he does so. His heart hammers in his throat when she lets her head fall against his shoulder. âSheâll forgive you.â
There are goosebumps on the skin of her arm. Iwaizumi can feel them, and he lets himself believe theyâre not from the chilled, late summer night. âI wanted to go home with someone so I wouldnât have to go home to see her. Is that pathetic?â
Iwaizumi swallows a lump in his throat. âYou can come back to my place, if you want.â
â§Ë*°àż
Sheâs standing in Iwaizumiâs bedroom. She cleaned her face off with Oikawaâs micellar water and used his expensive face wash and moisturizer. She pulled off her fake eyelashes and left them on Iwaizumiâs nightstand, next to the glass of water and Advil he left her, and now sheâs standing in the middle of his bedroom, wearing a t-shirt he pulled from the bottom of his drawer and a pair of sweatpants she had to roll up not to trip over.
His room is exactly what she would expect. Plain walls and grey sheets. Methodically neat and organized. Black wooden furniture and dumbbells stuffed in the corner. It feels oddly familiar, being in a room that is so him.
Thereâs a knock on the other side of the door. Polite of him to knock on his own bedroom door. Standing feels awkward, so she sits at the edge of his bed. âCome in,â she says, quieter than she needs to, like sheâs afraid of getting caught.
Iwaizumi opens the door, and then hovers there for a moment. He looks like he has something caught in his throat. âDo you need anything else?â he asks.
âNah. Are you sure you donât want me to sleep on the couch though?â she asks, knotting her hands together on her lap.
âTake the bed,â he insists. He has an expression on that she canât read. That might be on purpose. âYou look different.â
She raises an eyebrow. âDifferent?â
âWithout all the makeup. Less intimidating, I guess.â
âSorry,â she says with a slight eyeroll. âIâll put a full face of makeup back on, so you donât get uncomfortable by what I actually look like.â
âNot uncomfortable,â Iwaizumi is quick to correct, and then he takes a step back, hand reaching for the light. âGoodnight.â
He leaves her in the darkness, and she settles into his sheets. They smell like him. And sheâs not sure if sheâs still just too drunk, but she sort of hopes the smell lingers on her skin by morning. Itâs the last thought she has before she falls asleep.
â§Ë*°àż
She is awoken before sheâs ready. The blinds of his bedroom are ripped open, and the morning sunlight invades her rest. She groans, and grabs the closest corner of blanket she can find to pull it over her face. âGo away,â she grumbles.
Iwaizumi chuckles. âGotta get up, brat. I got you breakfast.â
She groans. âDonât want breakfast. Wanna sleep.â
She doesnât know what time it is and itâs hardly even registered where exactly she is. All she can think about is hiding in possibly the warmest and softest place sheâs ever been in her life, and sleeping for eight more hours or so.
And then, the blanket is ripped from her, and once exposed to the cold, outside air, she shoots upright. Iwaizumi grins. She glares. âBreakfast, câmon. Before my roommates wake up.â
That motivates her. With less reluctance now, she rises, and follows Iwaizumi to his kitchen, quietly complaining the entire time, continuing to do so as she devours as a bagel. Whatever last night was, it was just theirs. No roommates need to know.
When she leaves, she leaves in his clothes, her own ones bundled up into tight balls of fabric and shoved to the bottom of her purse. She wears her platform boots under his sweatpants and at least they allow her a few extra inches of height so sheâs not dragging them along the pavement as Iwaizumi walks her home.
By the time he leaves her at her front door, theyâve returned to normal, trading insults back and forth like itâs the only language they know how to speak. But when she closes her own bedroom door behind her and falls onto her bed, sheâs still wearing his clothes, and it all feels different.
â§Ë*°àż
Iwaizumi was going to wash his sheets. But he lies down on top of his bed, and notices they smell like her perfume. He looks to his nightstand, and sees her fake eyelashes, lying there with bits of glue stuck to them. And he decides to leave the traces of her there, for now.

Love and Obsession: The Tim Drake Way
part 2
Everyone in the Batfamily knows Tim Drake has⊠issues with boundaries. Theyâve spent years trying to teach him whatâs appropriate and whatâsâwellâdeeply unsettling and completely invasive. To be fair, heâs learned. Mostly. He doesnât stalk his family anymore (much), and he no longer pulls up files on every single person they talk to (okay, maybe just sometimes). But itâs progress.
But then Tim starts dating Danny Fenton. And, oh boy, a few screws come loose.
It starts small, as always. Just little things. Timâs a detective, after allâbackground checks are second nature. Dannyâs living in Gotham, and Gotham isnât safe. So, really, whatâs the harm in knowing a little more about Dannyâs friends? And his professors? And maybe also his classmates? Itâs just standard protocol. Okay?
âTim, youâve run a full dossier on my entire biology class?â Danny asks one day, laughing as he flips through a file on the coffee table. Tim shrugs. âWhat if one of them is dangerous?â âPretty sure the most dangerous thing in that class is the midterm.â
Danny doesnât think much of it. Heâs a little flattered, even. Timâs protective. Itâs sweet.
But Timâs mind doesnât stop there. Dannyâs too handsome. Too charming. What if someone tries to hurt him? What if someone tries to take him away? Itâs not obsessiveâitâs just concern. So, a tracker on Dannyâs phone? Necessary. Cameras in his apartment? Standard. Monitoring his sleeping patterns and hangout spots? Logical.
Tim tells himself itâs love. And maybe a little insecurity.
âYou have a tracker on his phone?â Dick asks, trying not to sound alarmed. Tim nods, like itâs the most normal thing in the world. âOf course. What if something happens to him?â âAnd the cameras?â âSafety.â âThe background checks on his professors?â âGotham U isnât exactly known for its stellar staff, Dick.â
It doesnât stop there. Tim knows everything. Dannyâs eating habits, his favorite places to go when heâs stressed, his childhood allergies. Timâs mapped out Dannyâs entire life. He knows about Dannyâs ghost powers tooâof course he does. Heâs Tim Drake. The moment he realized Danny was Phantom, it just⊠clicked.
Danny being half-ghost? Thatâs just one more reason to worry. Timâs up late at night, watching for any signs of ectoplasmic interference. He tracks the energy spikes. He monitors Dannyâs fights.
He doesnât think Danny knows. Heâs terrified of what will happen if he finds out.
But then he does.
One evening, Danny walks into Timâs apartment and casually drops a folder on the table. Timâs heart stops.
âWhatâs this?â Danny asks, raising an eyebrow. Tim swallows hard. âI⊠itâs justâŠâ âYouâve been tracking me?â Danny opens the file, glancing through pages of surveillance reports, background checks, even analysis of his ectoplasmic energy. Tim feels like his world is about to shatter.
âI⊠I can explain,â Tim says, his voice tight. âIâm just⊠worried about you. Youâre in danger all the time, and Iââ Danny walks over, cupping Timâs face in his hands. Tim braces for the worst.
But Danny just smiles. âCan I put a tracker on you too?â
Tim blinks. âWhat?â Danny kisses his cheek. âIf youâre watching my back, itâs only fair I watch yours. I need to make sure youâre safe too.â
Tim stares at him, speechless. Danny doesnât look scared. Or angry. He looks⊠fond. Like Timâs obsessive tendencies arenât a problem at all.
âIâve never had someone care about me this much,â Danny says softly. âI trust you with my life, Tim. This? This just proves how serious you are.â
Tim thinks heâs just fallen deeper in love.
-------------------
The Batfamily? Theyâre worried.
Jason corners Tim in the cave. âOkay, so let me get this straight. Youâve got cameras in his apartment. Youâve mapped out his entire life. Youâve got a tracker on him and a heartbeat monitor. And heâs⊠fine with it?â Tim nods, a dreamy smile on his face. âYeah. He even wants to put a tracker on me.â âThatâs not⊠healthy, Tim,â Dick says carefully. âThatâsââ âItâs mutual,â Tim interrupts. âWeâre protecting each other.â
Bruce pinches the bridge of his nose. âTim, this isnât how relationships are supposed to work.â Tim shrugs. âItâs how ours works.â
Damian watches the whole thing with narrowed eyes. âThis is deeply unsettling,â he mutters.
They try to talk to Danny. Intervention style. They invite him over, sit him down, and gently (or not so gently) try to explain that Timâs behavior isnât normal.
Danny just laughs. âYou guys do know Iâm half-ghost, right?â âThat doesnât meanââ Dick starts. âI spent my entire life being hunted by ghost hunters. Iâve had worse invasions of privacy.â Danny smiles. âTim cares. He keeps me safe. Thatâs all I need.â
The bats don't quite know what to say.
-------------------
Tim and Danny, two slightly unhinged souls who think mutual surveillance is the ultimate act of love.
The bats? Theyâre just trying to keep up.

âgive me all of that ultraviolenceâ | 2k
logan howlett x f!reader
SUMMARY: You give Logan head for the first time.
WARNINGS/TAGS: mdni - smut 18+ implied age gap. dirty talk. kind of inexperienced reader. oral sex (m receiving). face fucking. dom!logan. a tiny bit of degradation. he guides you through the whole experience (shocking!!! i know)
AUTHORâS NOTE: HI PALS!!! yes i'm alive and kicking. yes university is killing me. so recently iâve been OBSESSED with this man and i needed to write something for him. english is not my first language and i may have made some mistakes (if you encounter any you can tell me, i won't mind it). comments/likes/reblogs would be highly appreciated. i've got sooooo many ideas to write and i'm finally getting my hands on them. i missed you all so fucking much. hope you enjoy this!!!
Itâs common knowledge that all humans have needs. Try as you may, thereâs a primitive side that you canât spare yourself from. You, as everybody else, have urges.
âLogan,â you basically mewl his name, five letters that roll off your tongue with little effort. He doesnât seem to acknowledge you, his kisses growing harsher on the delicate skin of your neck. Threading your fingers through his hair, you decide to try again, speaking a bit louder this time. âLogan, please.â
âWhat is it, honey?â he says, bitten lips still pressed to your pulse point. As you remain silent, he looks up at you, those big, brown eyes that you love so dearly almost completely dark now. âDo you want to call it a day?â
His question catches you off-guard. You cup his face, thumbs caressing his cheekbones, suddenly afraid that he might pull away from you. âNo! Not at all. Thatâs- thatâs not what I want at all, actually.â
âWhat do you want, then? You can tell me,â he kisses you on the lips, softly at first. What starts as nothing more than a sweet kiss turns into a needier one, his hard on poking you through your shorts. âCome on. Tell me, baby. What does my sweet girl want?â
âI want to suck you off, Logan,â you whisper as you latch your mouth onto his, and you can feel how he visibly tenses beneath you. His breath hitches in his throat when you grind your hips. âI really need it.â
From the very beginning of your relationship, you had made things crystal clear: you didnât have much experience on this territory. For a man his age, he was totally understanding. He knew you had your own times, that for him to take you to bed would take longer. Truth be told, Logan was willing to go to the ends of the world for you. There was no use in forcing anything.
At present, the bulge amid his legs becomes even more noticeable as you get off his lap, playing with his belt. âCan I?â you ask him, amazed at how straightforward youâre being.
Logan stares at you, so far panting, lust glowing in his eyes. âShit, youâre gonna be the death of me,â he mutters as he helps you undress him. His worn out jeans end up pooling around his ankles, and you locate yourself in between his legs.Â
Youâre on your knees, hands folded in front of you. Suddenly, it hits you, the shame of it all. How badly you want him, how desperate you are to feel the weight of his cock on your tongue. How many nights youâve dreamt of this moment, unable to stop that unbearable need of touching yourself every time you thought about pleasuring him.
Thatâs what you truly want. For him to use you.
âWhatâs wrong, princess? Weâve talked about this a lot of times. You know what to do,â you canât help but stare at his crotch as you listen to him, and then he raises your chin with his finger, your lips parting unconsciously. You blink slowly at him, eyelashes fluttering together. At last, he seems to understand what youâre trying to tell him, and he raises his eyebrows, that cocky grin of his taking place where it belongs. âYou want me to guide you, donât you? Want me to tell you what to do? Know you like it when I go a bit off the rails.â
You moan at his words, squeezing your eyes shut and nuzzling your cheek up against his palm. Slick gathers in your panties as you push your thighs together. âPlease. Tell me what to do.â
âTake it out,â he instructs you, and you do as youâre told. Grabbing him by the base, you pull his cock out of his briefs. He twitches in your hand, and heâs so, so incredibly big.Â
You stroke him once, testing the feeling. This you know how to do. Youâve given him hand jobs millions of times, although this one feels particularly different from the others.
He takes hold of your fist, applying a bit of pressure. âIâm sorry, baby. I think you got it all wrong. Iâm the one who makes the calls here, okay?â he grunts, his brows knitted, and you only nod, salivating at the sight of his cock already leaking precum at the tip. Logan licks his lips, curling his hand around yours. âYou do as I say. Now, stroke me. Nice. And. Slow,â he punctuates each of his words by moving both your hand and his in unison around his length. âThatâs it, darling. You just need someone to boss you around from time to time, ainât I right?â
One thing to know about Logan: heâs so full of himself on a daily basis, but he just gets worse in bed.
âMy mouth,â you hover your lips over the head of his cock, all shiny and soft. He has let you go, both of his arms now flexed behind his head, as if he were appreciating how pathetic you must look on your knees, begging for him to allow you to taste him. âLet me.â
âNot yet,â his hips follow your tormenting pace, seeking the warmth that your skin radiates. He grits his teeth, biting his lower lip. Youâve no idea how a man so strong can become putty in your hands like this. âGreedy girl. Iâm beginning to think youâve set me up. Only a slut would get so worked up about having a cock in her mouth. What happened to my innocent girl? Gone with the wind, huh?â
âPlease, Lo. I need it so bad,â you are whining, peppering his thighs with kisses. You inhale his musky scent, getting dizzy. âGive it to me. Iâll be good.â
Out of nowhere, Logan grabs a handful of your hair, forcing you to arch your back. He scrutinizes your face, studying your blissed out demeanor. âI donât doubt that. Iâm sure youâll be good. Otherwise, weâll keep on trying. We have all night, and you have a good memory, just need to put it to use,â as he taps your lower lip with his tip, you catch him smirking. He repeats that same motion until he has you shivering from the excitement of being stuffed. âShow me how much you need it. Go easy on it at first, okay? Donât want you choking beforehand.â
Youâre more than happy to comply.
Your tongue darts out to lick at his head, enveloping it between your lips. The salty taste of his precum invades your tastebuds, and you moan as you trace the veins of his cock with the pad of your thumb. âTastes so good, Lo,â your voice sounds distant, almost unrecognizable to your own ears.
âI know, bub. Such a nice fucking mouth, canât believe youâve never done this before. I guess youâre a natural,â shaky fingers place a strand of hair behind your ears, patting your head as if you were a dog in heat. âDo you feel like bobbing your head a little?â he asks you, and you prepare yourself, attaching your mouth to his head once again. âGood. Thatâs good.â
With that being said, Logan fists your hair once again and shoves your face down, his hard cock tickling your throat. Your whines and his rapid breaths are the only sounds to be heard in your bedroom. He grins as he takes in the sight of you. âOh, sweetheart. You look so beautiful with your mouth stretched around me,â his index finger taps your cheek and he feels the outline of his own cock. âYou know I can smell you, right? Youâre fucking soaked, baby. Think youâll leave a stain on the carpet? Youâd clean it off with your tongue, wouldnât you?â
You have no idea how heâs coming up with these things, but youâre far from annoyed. In fact, youâve never been this wet. Your underwear must be ruined at this point, and you wish Logan would tell you to touch yourself.
After some minutes of bobbing your head up and down, he pulls you off his cock and you breathe through your mouth for the first time in a while. As you gasp for air, Logan kisses you, tasting himself. He massages the back of your neck, his cock throbbing between the two of you. âYou tired?â
Your glossy eyes widen. Shaking your head, you go for his balls this time, sucking one of them while toying with the other. Logan buries his hands in your hair for what must be the hundredth time in the night, unable to stop himself. âF-fuck, thatâs it. A pretty girl like you just gets what she needs,â he praises you, and you return to his length, taking as many inches as you can without hurting yourself. Tears shimmer in your eyes, yet you canât bring yourself to care about that detail. Youâre far too focused on Loganâs grunts and growls. âKeep that up and Iâll come. You heard me? Youâre gonna make me fucking come, bub.â
His words ignite a fire inside you. You use your hands, your mouth, everything that you have to pleasure him. Heâs getting closer and closer, thighs shaking when you pay special attention to his tip. Logan responds to each of your movements, and as you feel every coherent thought fly out the window, you try to take him all the way down your throat, breathing through your nose and swallowing around him. He cants his hips up, brutally fucking your mouth. Like a dog without a leash, Logan seems to get lost in the warmth that envelopes his cock, chasing his own release. âYouâre such a good girl. My good girl. Nobody will fuck this mouth ever again. Iâll ruin you for any pathetic guy that tries to get in your pants. Youâre fucking mine, darling. Oh, f-fuck. Fuckfuckfuckfuck-â
Youâre met with his happy trail once he spills his hot load inside your mouth. He keeps you trapped there, his cock twitching and spamming through the aftershocks of his orgasm. You donât think twice and swallow what heâs giving you. Some of his cum slips from your lips, falling directly onto the carpet. Even Logan seems surprised when he doesnât stop coming.
He helps you stand up after a moment, kissing you as soon as he gets the chance. He licks into your mouth, squeezing the flesh of your hips. Logan lifts his eyebrows, relishing how cock-drunk you must look. âI think you nearly killed me. And thatâs a lot to say coming from someone who cannot fucking die.â
You plaster a smile on your face, hugging his wide frame. âSo, was I okay?â
His jaw goes slack, and he lowers his head to capture your lips in another kiss. âYou were fantastic. I could easily get hard again just from thinking about it,â his fingers trace the buttons of your shirt, tugging at the fabric of it. âWhat if you let me focus on yourself for a while? Youâve already done enough, baby. Let me take care of you,â he rubs his hands on your thighs, reaching for your drenched panties. âPerhaps we could try something else today. That pussyâs begging to be fucked.âÂ

âAstrology observationsâ
Masterlist
Not a real astrologer just my observations:)
â Aquarius moon femmes tend to be more masculine/tomboyish whether it be their personality or fashion sense they prefer loose fitting clothes. They have this nonchalantness/offstandish energy about them, they also are very sensitive and receptive to energies around them esp after one on one interactions but surprisingly do very well w online interactionsđthey could feel like their personality shines brighter online than irl
â 12th ruler in 7th natal partners could have animosity towards you esp if you prefer men they tend to have secret intentions/lives
â Sagittarius in your natal chart is where you tell the best stories, and gemini can show where others ask for advice/tell their best stories to you(and lowkey try to impress you)
âïž in 1st -you ARE the story, thereâs never a dull moment ,so many memories are made w you, many stories where you had to be reminded that your that GIRL/GUYâš (esp by your guides)
âïž in 8th- they articulate their trauma very well, the ones that talk openly about their abuse, lots of near-death stories, surgery stories that they almost didnât make it out of, thieving stories
âïž in 11th- the type to bring their friends into every situation/story, most likely to do the best story time vids online, their stories can be eye opening for the collective, people love when they predict the future, stories about the future/goals of humanity, evolution stories, stories about you gaining independence(just like 1st)
âïž in 12th- they love to hear about your dreams and conspiracies, they love when you talk about your insecurities and spill your own secrets, your paranormal experiences and things about past lives
âïž in 2nd- they love to tell you how hard they work for their assets, âYou know I havenât told anyone this but I feel like I can trust you.â They donât mind telling you about their illegal activities, people have a tendency to think you took something from them, they come to you for advice on how to approach situations
âïž in 5th- the type to have kids come up to them and all their parents business (4th house also), the best childhood memory stories, people try to impress you w their sex stories , they come to you for advice on sex and love matters also, asking for your opinion w fashion & aesthetics, you make them want to try new thingsđ„”
â Taurus in the 3rd/4th find it hard to leave their family/home
Cancer risings (4°16°28°) their face and body fluctuate through life but their faces tend to get rounder/fuller as they age
â Sending love out to Venus in Pisces/12th house natals yâall are what fairytales are made ofđ„ș just being in your presence is healing even tho they feel sometimes their deepness and devotion isnât reciprocated at times idk who needed to hear this but your loving energy transcends the physical barriers you could do a lot of energy work on the other side w/o even realizing it esp while sleepingđ§Ą
â I feel bad for Chloe because w that Gemini mars baby everybody always gonna think you doing too muchđ unti you donât do enough & theyâll still be mad
Finding out Lil uzi has a Gemini mars sent međ it reminds of them vids of their security guard trying to keep up w them while they jump all over the placeđșđœ
â Sag moon children mom was in her hoe phase when u were conceived. Partying/traveling/drinking/learning was prominent for her at the time
Venus in natal can show you why others envy you
â in 2nd- they envy how consistently you upkeep yourself, they see how much money you put into yourself to look good, they hate how materially abundant you are, how easily you make money from your talents/assets, they envy your sugar daddy/baby energy
â in 4th- they envy how abundant your family/ancestry is, they envy your mom/your motherly skills, how easily you make a house feel like home, how rich your inner world is, your decoration sense, how easily youâll be remembered after passing/leaving home, how easily you make money from home
â in 8th- they envy how easily others trust you esp w their money & possessions, how beautifully you shed your skin in transformations, sugarbaby placement, how magnetic you are, how easily people become obsessed w you, your way of love making/showing love/spoiling others or vise versa
â in 12th- a lot of people donât even realize that they envy you/ subconsciously send you evil eye, you provoke their hidden desires(this place def has lots of people in their circle wishing on their downfall) they envy how content you are with yourself /and how youâve healed yourself , your music taste
I feel like prominent Pisces placements tend to lose their teeth more often than Capricorns, could also have dreams of teeth falling out/rotting
â Prominent Virgo in natal stay cleaning up other peopleâs đ©đ like literally tho at some point in your life youâve had to be some type of caretaker ie. animals, elderly, babies. But đ© is more prominent/consistent in your life
But if ur a pet owner or caretaker in general you know that a lot of times the only way they can communicate whatâs going on w their body Is through their bowel movements so itâs a blessing and a curse cuz itâs not like your obsessed with đ© (unlessđ) but you kinda have to beđ
Aphrodite in Gemini/3rd house natals have contagiously attractive laughs/smiles, delicate hand and arm movements, and beautiful hands and lips
â Every time I have prominent 8th synastry esp moon/mars we always have đ©ž sex eventually đ§đœââïž they be feigning so bad for you that they canât wait a few more days they need it now! But they always end up saying you put a spell on them like no bro u willingly put a spell on YOURSELFđ
â 7th house mercury could attract or prefer younger/pettie people or they are seen as such, also prone to have partners w prominent anxiety
â Eros/mars in Aries/cancer/scorpio in composite charts shows lots of crying during sex but for different reasons
Aries cries because ur f*cking/sucking them so good all they can do is take it like a champ and cry happy tears đ„Č
Cancer cries because you truly touched their soulđ„ș they never thought sex could be this satisfying and comforting at the same time (healing sex like Pisces)
With scorpio itâs kinda a mixture of both w sprinkles of trauma bondingâš
â Venus in 8th synastry- adoring eachothers beauty marks esp the house person @ Venus , the house person usually adores the Venusâs insecurities/stuff about themselves that they never picked up on which gives the Venus person a new prospective of their beauty
â Mercury synastry can tell you how you were first introduced/heard of each other
âż in 8th- meeting while/before going through a transformational/traumatic period in your life, you could have problems w people owing you money or vise versa, catalyst for spiritual & sexual growth, meeting before/after having a major surgery
âż in 9th- meeting through college/highschool,being introduced to/by a different ethnicity friend, meeting while traveling esp abroad, catalyst in spiritual journey, meeting through religious community
âż in 4th- I have this w my mom while her âż is in my 1st so you could also share this w your parents, w cancer and Aries basically representing the womb her PUMPUM told her about međobvi she had no other choice but to learn about me I was coming weather she liked it or notđ so w 1st house synastry I feel like they were kinda forced onto you theyâre pretty hard to missđ„Žwith 4th her aunts/women in her family told her she was gonna have another baby before she even knewđ€·đœââïž
â Jupiter in 1st synastry -even the most stubborn person would hear planet person out w this placement đ Jupiter boost house persons ego/outlook on life, planet person just makes everything look good & exciting in house person eyes
â Pluto in 11th natal- unfriending someone could really feel like a divorce lmao telling people your not friends anymore and they react so crazy like âNO I NEVER WOULDVE THOUGHTđđđâ then splittng up your assets (friends/aspirations)
â Gemini Venus-girl next door vibe people watch through your window esp w some Pluto energy on your Venus, the song âShe by Tyler the creatorâ was made about us frđ
â Taurus (2°14°26°)moons people think that they own you or that youâre some object they can use anytime they want whether it be your body or your possessions
Also having a Taurus moon could play out as feeling like you didnât get the support that you needed in ur childhood, the type to have moms that say âI put clothes on your back, food on your plate, and a pillow to lay your head and youâre telling me I didnât do enough for you??đ đ€â like sorry I needed emotional support and understanding as a child that you couldnât give međ„Č the mom could see the child as spoiled/ungrateful esp with harsh aspects on the moon, but they could also just feel like they have a right to your possessions esp if you live in the same house what is privacy?đ
â 6th house synastry is big on planning together, the type to count down the days till they get to see e/o đ„°
Now offering aura & synastry readings
Thatâs it for now, have a blessed day âš

@juniemunie NEVER BE SORRY THIS IS SO BIG BRAINED I LOVE IT#his Fire was rekindled!!#both metaphorically and literally#when he shot a blast at the end and flied hiccup through it ejvkkdjv#thank you so much for the compliments!!!#pls dont worry about rambling in the tags its honestly my favorite parts
TEST DRIVE TEST DRIVE TEST DRI-
I have so many thoughts about this entire sequence, from the way Hiccup and Toothless get along to the MUSIC- (the music analysis is going to my tags)
.
But im gonna talk about Toothless pov again
I always think of this is like, the forbidden friendship scene for Toothless the way the actual forbidden friendship was for Hiccup
If Hiccupâs scene was Toothless connecting to Hiccup through human things (sharing food, smiling, art and all that)
Then this scene is Toothlessâ because Hiccup connects with Toothless through flying, something Iâve always headcanoned to be what dragons (the ones that fly anyway) need not just to survive, but to live and bond with others.
if Hiccupâs FF is the beginning of the potential then Toothlessâ FF is the âendâ, the moment where the potential is found and fulfilled, the thing that really solidifies their friendship because both has now experienced and accepted the otherâs unique sides
Just, yeah Toothless sees Hiccup just getting it, understanding why flying is so wonderful, hearing him cheer and whoop in joy like a fledglingâs first time in the air, and seeing him at the end instinctively understand what to do-
Like that sudden spin near the end of the sea pillars- and both of them looked surprised they even managed to do that together instinctively- when just a few minutes ago Hiccup couldnt even dodge the two very obvious sea pillars in the beginning
He looks up at this human, this strange clever, brilliant little human who has somehow made this even possible, who has broken every preconception he has, who is now flying with him with a dragonâs instinct but baring his teeth in that human way of expressing joy, screaming something he could not parse perfectly in his dragon tongue but understood the meaning all the same.
âWe did it.â

INDEBTED â kinich x gn!reader
content: 11.6k words, cw: mentions of abuse and alcoholism, kinich backstory spoilers + natlan 5.0 archon quest spoilers, childhood friends to lovers, mutual pining, hurt/comfort, everyone is bad with emotions, death, near-death experiences
summary: kinich has never been one to trust easily, but fate has other plans. throughout the years, he slowly comes to terms with his love for you.
a/n: i'm so normal... so normal... SO NORMAL. this was an attempt at gaining an understanding of kinich's character, so it might not be perfect, but i tried my very best to ensure the characterization wasn't too questionable. i love him dearly.
ACT I.
As someone raised by the lonesome mountains of Natlan, you have long grown used to an atmosphere of tranquil quietude, a serene symphony composed purely of natureâs music. The gentle flow of zephyrs running through seas of viridescent grass coupled with the occasional sounds of birdcall have become the soundtrack of your life. For you, an ever-enduring hush has always been synonymous with normalcy, but you are perfectly content with the status quo.
So when the sound of a choked scream shatters the flawlessly-crystalline silence of a hazy morning into a thousand shards of dissonance, you feel yourself tense. In all your six years of life, you have never had the displeasure of hearing anything so horrific.
Itâs funny. The noise is fleeting, ephemeral, but it holds infinitely more weight than anything else youâve witnessed during your short time in this world. Youâre sure that it will be a long time before anything else disturbs the peace in such a profound manner, and it is for that exact reason that you resolve to investigate.
Deep down, you know itâs a stupid idea. Youâre only a kid, and if it turns out thereâs some grave danger, itâs more or less over for you. Curiosity alone isnât reason enough to risk your own safety but the thought of another person facing peril is.
With hurried steps, you rush through your house, lightly scurrying through the corridors to see if anyone else is awake yet. When youâre sure that everyone is still and not a creature stirs, you grab the simple pouch of medical supplies your family always insists you take with you and exit the house in a rush.
The moment you step outside, blinding threads of aureate light twist in elaborate patterns, weaving themselves across a divine tapestry dyed cornflower and tinged marigold.
Itâs way too bright, and even more concerningly, itâs way too quiet.
You feel your shoulders tense, and a shiver runs down your spine. The rapid coalescence of chaos and pandemonium is unnerving, and the ambiance makes you uneasy. However, you know you have to press on.
With as much fervor as you can muster, you run around the perimeter of your house, scouring every nook and cranny for signs of life. Itâs not a large place, yet you canât seem to find anything. Whatever it was that made that noise seems to have vanished without a trace.
Just as youâre about to give up, something on the ground catches your attention. A footprint. Itâs a light imprint, barely visible, etched with the utmost precision into the dusty earth below. The size of the footprint is unfamiliar, and based on the weight distribution, it seems that the person it belongs to tried to tread lightly.
But not lightly enough.
Itâs clear that the track points directly towards the stack of crates and barrels sitting behind your home, so with caution in your step, you gradually inch towards the area. As you do, the sound of shuffling permeates your ears, confirming that there is indeed something lurking behind the stacked wooden storage units. You take a deep breath before daring to peek.
The sight youâre met with shocks you to your core.
A young boy around your age is huddled between the boxes, nestled securely within a small gap. His knees are tucked all the way up to his chest, his short arms wrapped around them. The boy doesnât dare move an inch. He simply looks up at you with eyes of molten amber, their depths bedazzled with emerald starglitter. As he moves, strands of hair spun of midnight essence shift to frame his face.
A part of your young mind thinks that he looks unreal â ethereal, but your train of thought is quickly disrupted when you notice his scraped knees.
âAre you okay?â you ask, extending a hand towards the boy. Despite your attempt at being gentle, the boy flinches, flecks of opulent gold swirling within his irises, mistrust dispersing in their wake. âI wonât hurt you.â
Your gazes lock, and you hope he can sense the sincerity in your actions. Hesitantly, the boy takes your hand, his knees wobbling slightly as he stands. Heâs unsteady, but you make sure he doesnât fall. Carefully, you lead him over to the front porch of your house, slowly sitting him down on the wooden planks. Once youâre sure heâs fine, you let go of his hand and begin taking bandages and cleaning supplies out of your medicinal pouch.
As you turn towards him, preparing to patch him up, you see him tense slightly.
Heâs still scared.
âIt might sting a little.â
Your comment doesnât alleviate his face of its downcast expression â in fact, it just makes things worse.
âBut it wonât last for long,â you insist. âPlus, all the adults always tell me itâs for the best.â
The boy is still deeply suspicious of you. Itâs strange. Youâve never met someone so on edge.
âWould it make you feel better if I let you do it yourself?â You offer the supplies to the boy, and he curtly nods, snatching the bandages and swabs before you have a chance to process whatâs going on.Â
He examines them closely, sunbeam-speckled eyes roaming every inch of the objects, as if shedding monochromatic tones of dandelion across their surfaces to detect any obscure dangers. After what feels like an eternity, he finally starts cleaning his wounds, barely even wincing as he brushes over them. As he moves on to bandaging his knees, you watch intently. He does everything with such ease and efficiency that you wonder if heâs used to it all.
Yet the longer he continues to work on treating himself, the more you realize that the awkward angle is causing him to wince slightly. Perhaps his wounds run deeper than you think. Slowly, you draw your hand closer to his, tapping him with a finger to catch his attention.
âCan I do the rest of the bandages?â you inquire. It seems he feels more at ease now, and you want to take this opportunity to further gain his trust. Besides, the last thing you want is for him to make his injuries worse.
The boy pauses for a few seconds, tilting his head as he regards you with apprehension. Locks of navy and seafoam mingle in the caress of the breeze, transitory weightlessness engulfing the atmosphere for only a single moment. Stillness becomes nearly tangible as equanimity envelops you. The tension only builds up once more as the boy dips his head in a gentle nod, loosening his fingers around the gauze to allow you to take it instead.
Meticulously, you continue wrapping the boyâs knees in fibres of pristine white, concealing the nasty wounds marring his skin. Despite not trusting you earlier, heâs very compliant, and he remains both calm and unmoving as you aid him.
And when you finally finish, you hear him speak for the first time.
âThank you,â he whispers quietly, traces of hoarseness lacing his voice. It doesnât sound like he speaks often. âYouâre very kind.â
Before you can respond, the boy gets up, trying his best to hobble a few steps before staggering again. He manages to catch himself on a tree, and as he does, you race over to him. Obviously heâs not in any condition to be walking around.
âBe careful,â you reprimand him. âYou canât leave just yet.â
The boy shakes his head frantically.
âIâm supposed to be home right now,â he states gently. Although he tries his best to keep his tone flat and neutral, you notice the way his gaze becomes downcast, sullen with ashen rain clouds that dull anything and everything luminous.
âJust stay for a few more minutes?â
Perhaps itâs the concern entangled in your tone or your wide-eyed look of pure desperation that convinces the boy to give in. With a cautious sort of reluctance, he allows you to drag him back over to your old spot.
âSo how did you end up here, and more importantly, how did you end up so hurt?â
Itâs already very apparent that the boy isnât big on words, yet the fleeting silence that floods your surroundings in waves of unspoken wariness unsettles you.
âI ran too fast and fell down here,â the boy states simply.
No normal person would run so fast that they dive headfirst off a small ledge without noticing, and what kind of kid goes outside without someone else along to supervise them if they get hurt?
His answer doesnât seem insincere, yet something feels off. Doubt begins to blossom in your conscience, taking root in the form of fragmented bits of reason. Thus, you decide to try your luck and press just a little further.
âWhy were you running,â you question. âWere you chased by a monster?â
âI guess you could say soâŠâ
For a while, you continue to try to interrogate him, but youâre unable to get much more information out of him. The strange boy keeps all his secrets under lock and key, all his truths hidden within labyrinths of perplexing misdirection and nonchalant responses. Despite the frustration you feel when he refuses to comply, you understand. Youâve already pushed him far enough, but when it comes time for him to go, you try to get one last piece of information out of him.
âI never quite caught your name,â you remark as the boy steadies himself. Heâs still a little wobbly but far better than before.
âKinich,â he replies. âWhat about you?â
â[Name],â you say as you hand him your remaining medical supplies for later use.
Gratefully, Kinich takes the pouch, a ghost of a smile gracing his face.
â[Name], huh?â he whispers. âIâll remember it.â
ACT II.
Nothing in the world is free. Every cost must be carefully weighed and then remunerated sufficiently.
This has been Kinichâs philosophy for as long as he can remember. No matter how desperately the sands of time and winds of fate try to erode his beliefs, theyâre never successful, for his ideals have been ingrained in him since the moment he could make sense of natural order.
Ever since that fateful day where the ever-fragile threads of destiny pulled the two of you together, Kinich has been trying to think of a way to repay you, but with all the responsibilities and burdens weighing on his young shoulders, he finds it nearly impossible. When heâs not preoccupied with tending to the crops, heâs out and about in areas where only the wilderness reigns, carefully setting lethal traps to ensnare his next meal. Survival is tough, and with the ever-present threat of starvation looming over him, waiting for any opportune moment to snatch him from the gentle embrace of life, he allocates a large majority of his energy to feeding his father and himself.
Itâs not like his father is much help anyway. These days, he seems to be drinking away his sorrow more than ever, losing himself as tides of despair ebb and flow, pulling him away from lucidity and into the frozen grips of oceanic melancholia. Heâs been worse than ever since the disappearance of Kinichâs mother, and the one who feels the effects most potently is Kinich himself.
But everything changes on Kinichâs seventh birthday.
Itâs his special day, and for once, he hopes that his father will allow him some clemency. For the first time in a long time, Kinich gathers up the courage to ask his father a question.
He asks if there has been any news of his mother.
At first, his father remains eerily silent. An ominous sense of uncertainty settles in the surrounding air, evoking Kinich to shudder as frostbite gnaws at him in a thousandfold. Bloodshot eyes pierce through Kinichâs defences, exposing him for the person he truly is beneath it all: a scared child, anxiously awaiting an answer from a man he no longer trusts.
He waits.
And waits.
And waits.
Until his father rushes forwards in a sudden juxtaposition of mood. The apathy that masked his inner turmoil just seconds before is now gone, replaced by a look of pure rage. Thatâs Kinichâs cue to run. Heâs done this enough times to know.
So he takes off. His legs, although far shorter than his fatherâs, carry him far more swiftly. Reflexes and strength built up through countless similar instances take over, and everything becomes muscle memory for Kinich. On the other hand, his father does not fare quite as well. He stumbles, and at times, he even trips over the creeping roots of archaic trees. Itâs as if the alcohol is weighing him down, but despite it all, he never loses sight of his son.
Kinich is an elusive breeze, weightless and elegant, never once losing his foothold as he springs from one place to another. His father is more akin to the ancient petra underfoot â uncouth, clumsy, yet destructive and powerful. Even as he staggers, his resolve remains steadfast and resolute. He will stop at nothing until heâs able to give his young son a piece of his mind.
And yet fate has a strange way of intervening at the least convenient moments, ensuring its heavenly ordainment is heeded. In the eyes of the universe, Kinichâs story is not ready to end â but his fatherâs is.
As Kinich rushes by the side of a cliff, this becomes apparent. The sound of heavy footfalls behind him disappears before he hears a thud. Gathering his courage, Kinich gazes behind him, only to be met with the sight of emptiness where his father should have been.
Then, he makes the fateful decision to peer below.
There, lying between thickets of dense foliage lies the body of the man he once lived with â a man full of life mere seconds ago, now motionless and despondent. It feels unreal. A shiver runs down Kinichâs spine as a creeping sense of despair begins to stab at his heart. He blinks rapidly, taking deep breaths in order to calm himself, before making his way down the cliff.
Emotions are strange, and Kinich has never been good with them. He had always believed that everything would begin to look up once his father was out of the picture, but now that his father is gone for good, Kinich canât help but grieve. No matter how horrible he was, he was still Kinichâs only remaining parent. There were better times too â times where his father would bring home a box of sweets for him and a bouquet of flowers for his mother. It almost felt like they were a real family. In Kinichâs mind, these instances pale in comparison to all the torment his father had put him through, yet he canât completely erase his pleasant memories either.
So as one last act of respect, Kinich decides to bring his fatherâs body home with him.
The journey home is long and arduous. As Kinich navigates the surrounding wildlands and his newfound freedom, swinging from treetop to treetop with his fatherâs grappling hook, he wordlessly says goodbye to the man who had caused him so much pain throughout the former years of his life.
On his seventh birthday, Kinich becomes an orphan. He tucks himself into bed, and while other children would have had their loving mothers to lull them off to sleep in an aria of oneiric delights, he has nothing but the harsh, transient gale that rocks the thin walls of his home.
On his seventh birthday, Kinich ends up completely alone.
ACT III.
Kinich has dealt with nightmares before, but the ones that plague him after the death of his father are particularly horrific. Every night, as watercolour fuchsia and muted lilac begin to bleed into periwinkle skies, Kinich finds himself mentally preparing for the duress that lays ahead â for each time he closes his eyes, he is whisked back to the past, forced to relive events heâd much rather forget.
Sometimes he actively resists sleep, fearing the mirages that may appear in his dreams. It is on one such night that he finally recalls his debt to you. As he lays awake, trying to ward off all-consuming thoughts of eternal solitude and grief, he remembers the one other person heâs interacted with in recent times, and an idea comes to mind. Heâs going to start paying his price tonight.
Kinich is usually one to take caution, but right now, he would do anything to keep his mind from lingering on his harsh reality. As such, he climbs out of bed, making his way outside to gather some of the crops heâs grown in a rugged patch of land behind his house.
It feels good to be outside again. The fresh air is a welcome change compared to the stifling atmosphere within a house that holds far too many memories for Kinichâs liking. His recollections range from saccharine-sweet to fear-evoking, yet one thing that remains constant is the fact that Kinich canât stop recalling a past that seems oh-so-distant.
As Kinich picks up a tool, plowing through the dirt to unearth some of the grainfruit he had planted earlier that year, his thoughts drift back to his mother. She used to wrap her delicate fingers around his when he was younger, carefully guiding him as he learned to cultivate and take care of the crops. Back then, Kinich had felt a special type of fragile warmth, but now, all that remains is the chill of the evening air.
Kinich wonders if heâll ever feel that warmth again.
He finishes gathering a respectable amount of food in no time, having had years of practice in the past. The young boy tosses the grainfruit into a sack, preparing to set off on a journey with phantasmagoric darkness as his only companion and the luminous constellations overhead as his only guide.
The sights and sounds of an enigmatic midnight distract him from the thoughts that have been running through his head on a daily basis. Kinich is sure to watch his step, although heâs nearly certain he knows the area well enough to walk through it blindfolded by now.
Finally, after around ten minutes of wandering through veils of silken achromatic, he sees the silhouette of a building in the distance, a rough outline against a backdrop of night. To his surprise, he spots a lantern emitting a gilded glow as he approaches, its incandescent light breaking through layers of obsidian obscurity, flooding it with a golden radiance instead. As he draws closer, he begins to make out the faint shape of a figure in the distance.
Strange. What normal person would be out at this hour?
As the features of the mysterious person become more defined, Kinich realizes itâs you again. Subconsciously, a soft smile begins to grace his features at the thought of getting to speak to you once more. Itâs the first time heâs been genuinely happy in a while.
When Kinich steps into the dim firelight of the lantern, his features illuminated by the ember-forged halo of light, you eagerly approach him and wave. Something about the fact that you still recognize makes his heart grow just a little softer.
âItâs you,â you remark, your face lighting up excitedly.
Kinich nods, awkwardly shuffling under the weight of your gaze. Itâs been a long time since someone was so interested in him. He isnât quite used to having people regard him with such attentiveness.
âWhat are you doing out at this time?â Curiosity flares in your eyes, dancing in asterisms of wonder that glimmer with the brilliance of the stars above. Normally Kinich doesnât like it when others pry into his affairs, but he thinks the look of inquisitiveness is endearing on you.
âI couldnât sleep,â Kinich bluntly responds, âand I had a debt to repay.â He gestures at the sack of grainfruit beside him, silently weighing out the costs in his mind. It isnât enough to pay you back for helping a stranger unconditionally, but Kinich thinks itâs a start. At the very least, itâs enough to reimburse the material costs of tending to his wounds, and heâll deal with reciprocating your actual actions later.
âDebt?â Your face contorts into a puzzled frown. Kinich decides that he appreciates this expression far less when it adorns your visage. âYou donât owe me anything.â
âYou treated my injuries the other day,â Kinich begins to explain, but you cut him off.
âAnd thereâs really no need to repay me for that,â you interrupt. âTrust me. I wanted to help you.â
Somewhere in the depths of his heart, Kinich feels a flurry of opalescent butterflies spread their wings and take flight. Iridescent sparks of a newfound fuzzy feeling burst to life within his chest.
Itâs⊠new. Everything is new with you.
âAt least take the grainfruit,â he mutters, trying to remain nonchalant. As a young child, he still doesnât quite understand what heâs feeling, but heâd rather not make his emotions apparent. âItâll save me the trouble of having to drag it back home.â
You hesitate for a few seconds before agreeing, hauling the large bag inside with great difficulty before rushing back out to Kinich. By the time you return, he recalls that you shouldnât be up at this hour either.
âIf you donât mind me asking, why are you awake right now?â Kinich asks you as you close the front door behind you.
Deep down, a part of him wants to know if thereâs something troubling you so he can help you. Itâs strange. Itâs been a while since he last cared for someone this deeply, but he blames it all on his desire to reimburse you for your kindness, nothing more. Conveniently, he ignores the nascent emotions blooming within, repressing flourishes that take shape in frantic flickers of ruby and rose.
âIt was a little too cold tonight,â you sigh, staring down at the ground. âI just couldnât fall asleep comfortably.â
Kinich lets out a small hum of acknowledgement as the gears in his brain begin to turn, rotating in cycles of contemplation. Perhaps heâll bring you an extra blanket next time he visits.
âThen why donât we keep each other company for a while?â Kinich suggests. âIt definitely beats being alone.â Kinich is not usually one to actively seek the company of other people, but youâre intriguing to him.
You nod, silently offering your hand to Kinich. It feels like the day you first met all over again, except under much better circumstances. This time, he laces your fingers without hesitation, allowing you to guide him through darkness fragmented only by rays of piercing starlight. Heâs not quite sure where youâre leading him, but he knows heâs beginning to trust you a little.
Slowly, your destination becomes clear to Kinich. The two of you draw closer and closer to the cliffside â a spot where pure moonbeams grace the earth with their elegant touch. Kinich tenses slightly, haunting memories from a few weeks prior threatening to resurface above the murky waters of a wounded heart. However, he quells every spark of fear threatening to blaze alight.
Heâs safe. Things arenât the same as they were on that day, and the only other person around is you.
To Kinichâs relief, you settle down a safe distance from the cliffâs edge and pat the spot beside yourself, gesturing for Kinich to follow suit. He wordlessly obliges, simply relishing in the serenity that permeates the atmosphere, nearly tangible as he feels lingering traces of your body heat in the night air.
âLook up,â you whisper, laying a gentle hand on Kinichâs shoulder.
He does as heâs told, and the panoramic sight that greets him is enough to take his breath away. The skies above are the same as ever, yet this is the first time he has truly been able to appreciate their beauty. Kinich studies the constellations that burn with unrivalled luminosity, in awe of their brilliance. Diamond lights burn bright against a backdrop of deep sapphire, each shade of an abyssal ocean waltzing in a whimsical show of wonders.
Before today, heâd always been too busy caring for his mother, too preoccupied with his fatherâs hysteria, or too melancholy within his own solitude to enjoy anything with an unburdened heart.Â
But now everything has changed. Heâs free, and he has you now. Yet again, he feels an involuntary smile tug at the corners of his lips, and before he has the chance to think about what all of this means, a shout breaks through the silence.
âA shooting star! Make a wish, Kinich!â
Kinich is more than familiar with wishing. Heâs wished for plenty of things in his seven years of life. Heâs wished for his father to stop gambling, heâs wished for his mother to come back, and heâs wished for his family to be happy together. Permanently. None of his wishes have ever come true.
But as he looks over at you, he notices hope and a childish innocence glittering in your eyes, manifesting in prismatic tones reflected from the skies above. A sense of warmth washes over him. Kinich sees a kind of purity in you that he wishes he could have clung onto for longer, so he makes a wish, if only to protect and humour you.
âI wish to be able to repay your kindness someday, even if it takes me a lifetime.â
ACT IV.
Throughout the years, Kinichâs debt to you only accumulates.
Word spreads like wildfire after the first few members of the tribe find out about Kinichâs living situation, and unsurprisingly, the news reaches your family as well. Strangers begin to graciously offer Kinich help, yet he always holds them at a distance. Nothing in the world is free, and he knows full well that there are people who conceal ulterior motives behind masks of charity.
There is, however, one exception.
You.
Deep down, Kinich knows that if the universe hadnât entangled him within its delicate web of fate the day you first met, he would have never trusted you. It was only when he was left with no other options that he allowed you to aid him. He felt your sincerity that day, and although heâs still hesitant at the prospect of placing his wholehearted faith in anyone just yet, he lets you help him with his daily tasks. Kinich enjoys being around you, and a small part of him knows that he wants to be able to believe in you unconditionally.
You always show up early in the mornings, returning time and time again as the first traces of golden brilliance begin to graze the horizon. Kinich begins to find himself looking forward to the sunrise for the first time in his life.
In the past, Kinich would watch the last embers of twilight die out each day, violet enigma enveloped by vivid strokes of peach. He would always dread the day to come. Back then, nearly every waking hour of his life had been tedious and stressful, and thus he could only find respite in the land of the oneiric where dreams and absurdism erased the sorrow of real life.
But nowadays, each new dawn means spending more time with you.
You accompany him on various tasks. From farming to foraging to trading at the market, youâve almost done it all.
Todayâs task, however, requires slightly more precision.
As you set off towards a stretch of open plains with Kinich, you speak jovially, sharing stories from the past without a care in the world. Kinich himself doesnât speak much. Instead, he listens, trying his best to piece together fragments of a childhood he never got to experience. Seeing your face light up with joy as you recall amusing escapades or confounding situations causes Kinichâs heart to swell slightly.
You only begin to quiet down when you draw near your destination. Kinich already made it abundantly clear that in order to get anything worthwhile from this trip, you need to proceed with the utmost caution.
Although you try your hardest to keep stealth in your step, you find that youâre not nearly as adept as Kinich, who has had years of experience traversing this territory. Occasionally, the sound of leaves crackling and twigs snapping will reach Kinichâs ear, and heâll catch a glimpse of you stumbling. After a few minutes of painstaking silence interrupted only by the uneven rhythm of clumsy footfalls, Kinich decides to take your hand to steady you.
He tells himself heâs doing it to ensure you donât scare away his next meal â that he doesnât want you to mess up and feel guilty. However, behind his icy demeanour woven from years of hardship lies a small part of him that secretly enjoys the feeling of your fingers intertwined with his, the warmth of his palms mingling with yours.
Meticulously, Kinich leads you to a towering bush, its fragile emerald leaves dense enough to conceal an entire person. Its branches sprout out in piercing patterns of disorderly pandemonium, reflecting the true ruggedness of nature in its visage.
âHide here, and donât make a noise until I get back,â he whispers, his soft breath tickling the shell of your ear. Your proximity nearly causes shivers to run down Kinichâs spine, but years of practice have taught him to effortlessly conceal all his sentiments. âWatch closely.â
With those parting words, Kinich makes his way into the foliage, clutching a boar trap within his hand. He scans the ground for an optimal spot to place the contraption, finally settling on an area after around a minute of contemplation. As soon as he sets the device down, he leaves as quickly as he entered the area, gracefully making his way back to you without making so much as a noise.
Huddled behind the bush, the two of you watch in anticipation. Now that Kinich has left, wild boars have begun to make their ways out into the open, blissfully grazing, unaware of the peril that lies before them. An unsuspecting boar inches closer and closer to the trap, and Kinichâs breath hitches in anticipation, waiting for it to foolishly take the bait.
However, just as the boar begins to sniff the food laid within cold metallic jaws, you lean forward to get a better look. Kinich doesnât react fast enough to stop you. Your movement is slight, yet it causes a large disturbance. The leaves of the bush youâre hidden behind rustle, and the boar looks up, its idyllic haze seemingly perturbed.
Without a momentâs hesitation, it turns tail and runs, conveniently kicking fallen debris into the mouth of the trap, snapping it closed with a sharp click. The other wildlife in the area take off as well. A rush of polychromatic wings create shadows overhead as birds fly away, leaving only tufts of delicate feathers behind. Their dissonant cries echo in an ominous ode of precaution, alerting any other living beings in the area that there is danger lurking nearby.
So much for hunting.
Kinich sighs. Looks like itâll be another few days before heâll be able to get his hands on some meat. He just lost out on a sizable sum of mora. Now heâll have to spend more on keeping himself fed over the next few days, he wonât have anything of worth to sell for extra money â and all that goes without even considering the time and resources he just wasted.
âKinich, Iâm so so sorry,â you start, shrinking back a little as your gaze meets his â an unreadable galaxy of jade and peridot, accentuated by intricate borders of copper and gold.
His heart clenches when he realizes that the look youâre regarding him with is one of fear and uncertainty. He doesnât want you to feel that way, so with an uncharacteristic haste, he reaches out to pat your shoulder.
âNo need to apologize,â Kinich reassures you, his words and tone soothing like a marine zephyr on a scorching summer day. âYou were just curious.â
Kinich knows he has every right to be angry, but overreacting and directing his rage towards another person is the last thing heâd want to do. He knows better than anyone else the damage of misplaced blame and unwarranted rage.
He knows that normally under such circumstances, it would be most appropriate to calmly ask the other party to pay a sufficient price, but since itâs you, Kinich thinks he can let you off the hook. Just this once.
Mentally, he notes never to take you hunting again.
ACT V.
The flow of time is paradoxical, morphing and bending as seasons change and circumstances shift. In Kinichâs case, the former years of his life seemed to drag on, each harrowing second stretching into eons and millenia, but recently, he has begun to resent the evanescent essence of his days.
It feels like just yesterday, he was that fearful seven-year-old, all alone in the world without a soul to offer him solace. Now heâs sixteen â a little older and a lot wiser. Although the hardships heâs faced have been far from delightful, Kinich has had you by his side throughout it all.
The situation is no different in the present. Another hard day of labour passes as usual, and after hours upon hours of exerting yourselves under the blazing radiance of the sun, Kinich is ready to walk you home with a bag of todayâs spoils.
However, as the two of you prepare for the journey ahead, ashen clouds begin to roll in, overtaking the pristine azure that once painted the sky. The light overhead starts to die out, fading at an agonizing swift pace. Although Kinich has safely escorted you home during minor storms before, he has a feeling today will be different. Something about the petrichor that floods his senses feels like a premonition, a warning of disasters to come, and the atmosphere is electrifying.
âWeâd better get going if we want to make it before it starts pouring,â you chuckle lightheartedly, seemingly unperturbed. You only begin to look concerned when Kinich doesnât respond, his mind clouded with a daze of rumination. Upon seeing your features morph into an expression of concern, Kinich finally snaps out of his trance.
âYou should stay the night instead.â The confused look you shoot his way causes a wave of awkwardness to wash over the ambience, yet Kinich continues to elaborate. âI have a bad feeling about the incoming storm. It feels different.â
âI wouldnât want to burden you though,â you protest. âIf we leave quickly, everything will probably be okay.â
Kinich shakes his head.
âYouâre not a burden at all,â he whispers. âYouâve spent your precious time helping me. The least I could do is ensure your safety and offer my home as a refuge.â
Despite Kinichâs reassurances, you continue to refute his statements.
âBut I really donât think staying over is necessary. If youâre worried about walking back alone in a storm, you donât need to accompany me. Iâll be okay. Promise.â
You turn away from Kinich, ready to set off. A rush of panic sends daggers of serrated trepidation to his soul. Itâs unlike Kinich to lose his cool, and although he maintains a serene facade, the unsettling feeling that has been permeating his senses this entire time begins bubbling to the surface, each potential tragedy rushing through his mind in a frenzied series of what-ifs.
Without thinking, Kinich catches your wrist in his fingers, maintaining a loose grip.
âDonât go,â he utters. He despises the vulnerability that laces his tone, but heâs more desperate than ever.
Kinich has already lost both his parents. The mere notion of losing you too is unbearable. If the storm really ends up being as intense as he predicts, he knows that muddy cliffsides, discombobulating spirals of sharp crystalline raindrops, and blinding flashes of lightning will all make for an incredibly disadvantageous situation. For a brief second, his mind flashes back to the way his father had passed, but he swiftly represses those thoughts, pushing them back into a seldom-visited corner of his mind.
When Kinichâs gaze meets yours, your expression softens. He can feel your resolve fading.
âAlright, fine,â you sigh. âYouâre lucky my family has full confidence in your ability to protect me, otherwise theyâd go ballistic if I didnât come home.â
Just as you finally agree to Kinichâs proposition, the sensation of frosted drops of water prickles at his skin. The storm has begun. With haste, he pulls you indoors, quickly shutting the door to keep all the unwanted rain out.
The two of you wait it out, speaking leisurely as if nature isnât erupting into chaos all around you. When youâre together, it feels like nothing else exists. Without a clear view of the sun in the sky, Kinich is unsure of how much time passes, but after a while, he notices that a haze of exhaustion begins to elicit yawns from you.
âTired? You should get some sleep,â Kinich hums nonchalantly. The ambience feels tranquil, and despite the peril just outside the walls of his home, Kinich feels at ease.
You move to lie down on a dilapidated couch in the middle of the cramped living room, but Kinich immediately protests. He knows youâll inevitably start to feel cold or uncomfortable, and thatâs the last thing he wants you to experience as an honoured guest within his abode.
âDonât sleep out here. Youâll freeze.â
Kinich takes your hand, and you allow him to pull you up. He leads you to another room â his room. For the most part, itâs barren, but Kinich watches as your eyes land on a small collection of items sitting atop an aged drawer beside his bed. Memorabilia from your various years together line the edges of dull wood â birthday gifts, trinkets that reminded you of him, and short notes of appreciation. He watches as a subtle grin etches itself into your features as embarrassment and admiration wash over him.
âYou kept all this?â Slight surprise lines your tone as you pose your rhetorical question.
Kinich nods, unsure of how to elaborate. Even heâs not completely sure as to why he stores all the keepsakes youâve ever presented him so meticulously. All he knows is that theyâre important to him. Youâre important to him.
âThatâs sweet,â you mumble, leaning over to examine everything more closely. Your eyes linger on each object, memories flashing in their depths.
Kinich feels his heart flutter.
You spend a few minutes poring over the items and recollections of the past before finally retiring to bed. Kinich watches as you pull the covers over yourself, and he ensures youâre comfortable before turning to leave.
This time, however, itâs your turn to encircle your fingers around his arm, prompting him to stay.
âWhere are you going?â you inquire, gazing up at Kinich curiously.
âBack to the living room,â he replies, gently twisting his wrist, loosening your grip.
âYou said it was cold though.â
Kinich shrugs. âI donât mind as long as youâre comfortable.â
âWhat if I think Iâd be more comfortable with you by my side?â
Kinich tenses, and for a second, his brain malfunctions, barely processing the intent of your words. He comes to the realization that heâs not opposed to the idea. Besides, it was logical; it would help the two of you stay warm for the night.
âAs long as youâre happy,â he mumbles, looking anywhere but into your eyes. Slowly, he begins to climb into bed beside you, cramming his limbs to one side in order to ensure you have enough personal space. Kinich feels unusually tense, and his heartbeat starts to spike in a melody of frantic sentiments as he begins to sense your body heat radiating from the other side of the bed.
Although Kinich tries to calm himself, itâs to no avail, especially when you shift over slightly, entangling your fingers with his. Your eyes flutter shut, and sleep pulls you under, lulling you into a whimsical land of nonsensical wonders. As frantic as the contact makes Kinich feel, he canât bring himself to pry his hand from your grasp. The feeling of your fingers laced together is not an unpleasant sensation.
So with his hand in yours, Kinich falls asleep, and for the first night in his life, he experiences a truly restful slumber. His last thought before the tides of exhaustion drag him off to an ocean of reverie is how despite his unusual nerves, he wouldnât mind doing this again.
And when Kinich comes to the next morning, heâs met with the most ethereal sight of his life. Early morning light blooms through the windows, tinting every corner of the room an aureate shade. The brilliance of the sun is utopia compared to the tumultuous conditions of last night, and as Kinich looks over at you, he notices the peace and content instilled within every dip and curve of your face.
Youâre angelic, and the feeling of you by his side is just so right.
When Kinich comes to terms with the fact that he wants to wake up to the sight of your soft smile every single day, he finally realizes the true significance of the emotions heâs harboured towards you for years.
Heâs in love.
ACT VI.
It isnât often that you go to the market without Kinich by your side. The two of you are more or less a package deal, so when you show up alone, equipped with a small pouch of mora and without your most trusted companion, you immediately notice the whispers that follow.
âDo you think something happened to Kinich?â
âMaybe he got offered a commission that he deemed more worthy of his time.â
âAre you kidding me? Nothing is more important to Kinich than [name] â not even mora!â
The speculations range from reasonable to absolutely implausible, and in all honesty, you have no idea what Kinich is doing at the moment. All you can do is tune everything out and focus on your objective: finding a suitable friendship anniversary gift for Kinich.
Ever since Kinich became a saurian hunter and started taking commissions, youâve been spending less and less time together. However, heâs always accompanied you to the market, helping you weigh each cost with the utmost precision. Although youâre rarely thrilled by the fact that heâs busier with his own affairs now, today is one of the few times where it works to your advantage. You want to surprise him with something special, and the absence of his presence will ensure that nothing is spoiled before the right time comes.
As you browse the goods sold by an elderly vendor, you feel a tug on the hem of your clothing. Upon looking down, you find yourself greeted by two familiar faces â Huni and Toba.
âHey, little ones,â you say, grinning at the two children gazing at you with wide eyes. âIs something the matter?â
Huni nods furiously, Toba mimicking her actions just seconds later. You stifle a giggle. In a way, the two remind you of you and Kinich when you were younger â virtually conjoined.
âWe were wondering if Kinich was okay,â Toba responds, nervously clasping his hands together.
âAh,â you breathe out, finding yourself faced with expectant stares from all around. You can tell that prying eyes and ears have been trained on you, eager for any semblance of gossip. âWhy does everyone seem to think somethingâs up with Kinich today?â
âIsnât it obvious?â Huni giggles, barely able to conceal her glee. âEveryone knows he follows you everywhere because the two of you are together.â
Toba nudges Huni lightly, his gaze becoming the slightest bit pointed as he reprimands her in a hushed tone. âHuni! You werenât supposed to say that.â
You pause for a few seconds, thinking over the implications of Huniâs statement. Surely you misheard. Surely youâre just misinterpreting the girlâs words. Surely no one actually thinks you and Kinich are a couple, right?
âExcuse me, what?â you blurt out. No other words come to mind at the moment, as youâre too shocked to muster any coherent thought. âKinich and I are what?â
âTogether,â Huni states simply. âA couple. Totally head-over-heels for each other.â
A frown clouds your features as your muscles tense. You and Kinich are nothing more than friends, and although youâre extremely close â nearly abnormally so â youâve never even discussed the possibility of being anything more. Why does everyone around you suddenly seem to think youâre in love?
Perhaps your confusion is evident because Huni continues to elaborate in excruciating detail.
âYou should see the way he looks at you when he thinks no one is watching â itâs like his eyes fill with the light of a thousand stars. Oh, he also always asks the shopkeepers if anythingâs caught your eye recently whenever youâre distracted, andâŠâ
You tune out Huniâs tangent about you and Kinich, the thoughts in your mind coming to a halt temporarily to protect yourself from the onslaught of confounding claims being made. It feels like complete blankness engulfs your mind as you remain frozen in place, each fleeting moment feeling more comparable to an eternity. The more you dwell on Huniâs assumption, the more you realize you donât mind envisioning yourself with Kinich.
Youâre only pulled out of your mental retreat when a familiar voice rings out through the discord of marketplace conversations.
â[Name],â Kinich greets you. âI wasnât expecting to see you here today.â
To your relief, Toba drags Huni off as Kinich approaches, frantically trying to ensure that she doesnât say anything more in front of the saurian hunter himself. You feel a sense of momentary relief, but now that Kinich is here, what are you going to do about his present?
âYeah, I had some free time today and wanted to check out some of the new goods. Itâs been about a week since Iâve come by.â
Unsurprisingly Kinich doesnât look convinced. Doubt swirls in a faint starlight glimmer within irises of fern and honeyed sunbeams. He knows you like the back of his own hand.
âWhatâs really going on?â he asks, a hint of concern entangled in his tone. He watches you intently, awaiting your answer. His eyes narrow ever-so-slightly.
Busted. Although you would have much preferred keeping your gift to Kinich a surprise, you figure itâs still better to ensure he doesnât worry that youâve been roped into doing suspicious business. You know from experience that Kinich tends to take drastic measures when he thinks youâre in danger, and youâd rather not have him go to such lengths over nothing.
âYou know how our friendship anniversary is coming up?â you explain.
A look of realization flashes across Kinichâs features. Before he can speak, a grating voice that youâve been hearing more often in recent times interrupts.
âSo my lowly servant and his pesky idiot of a companion had the same idea,â Ajaw cackles, appearing from behind Kinich. You try your best to stifle an exasperated groan. âMaybe you really are meant to be â after all, you share one collective brain cell!â
You glare at Ajaw, and Kinich sighs, nonchalantly raising an arm to send Ajaw off to solitary confinement.
âSorry about that. Ajawâs been acting up more than usual since the last time I put him in timeout,â Kinich says.
You chuckle before a realization suddenly hits you.
âWait, Ajaw said you were here for the same reason as me,â you speak hesitantly. âWere you getting me a gift too?â The way Kinich averts his gaze as you ask your question nearly elicits more giggles from you.
âLooks like we caught each other at the worst time,â Kinich sighs.
You nod in agreement, and although youâre slightly disappointed you couldnât have kept your secret mission inconspicuous, you find the corners of your lips turning up in a smile. Thereâs a strange sort of comfortable humour in the situation that you only experience around Kinich.
âSince weâre both here anyway, we might as well go shopping together,â you hum, taking Kinichâs hand and dragging him off. Maybe people will stop bothering you now that Kinich is by your side again.
You wander with Kinich, gaze flitting over various items on display. However, despite all your searching, nothing quite piques your interests. Itâs not until rose and clematis scatter themselves across the sky in a brilliant display of mosaic-esque shards that something finally catches your eye.
On a small table tucked within an obscure corner of the marketplace sits two matching bracelets, delicate stars engraved into opulent charms hanging from each one. The woven threads of each accessory look intricately-crafted to the point where even the finer details appear flawless.
Theyâre beautiful, but more importantly, they remind you of that night more than a decade ago where Kinich had wished upon a star for the first time in years. They remind you of the night where Kinich found hope once more. Thatâs what seals the deal for you.
âExcuse me, Ms. Vendor. Iâll take the two bracelets.â
ACT VII.
No one takes death seriously until it comes knocking at their door.
Kinich comes to the realization as he trembles on the battlefield of the Night Warden Wars, his bones aching and his joints ready to give up on him. Heâs exhausted, and all he wants to do is close his eyes and allow the frigid touch of death to kiss away the last remnants of warmth from his soul. However, relenting would mean admitting defeat.
Relenting would mean never seeing you again.
(And thatâs the last thing he wants.)
Everyone lives as if their time is unlimited â as if tomorrow is guaranteed to come. Humans tend to assume the future is a never-ending tale, a novel with no finale, so they continuously delay, waiting and waiting and waiting because they believe they still have many years ahead of them to wrap up their affairs.
Kinich realizes all too late that he has been ensnared within the same folly. As he remains slumped on the ground, clutching at his bleeding chest, a sense of deep regret washes over him.
He never got to tell you that he loved you.
Even after all these years, Kinich has never been able to bring himself to utter those words â not even once â and now, heâll pay the price for his hesitation. A small part of him has always been too cowardly to cross the line from friendship into the uncharted territory of something more.Â
Kinich hardly knows much pertaining to love, but from what little heâs seen in his former years of life, he knows itâs a double-edged sword â a smoldering flame of passion that burns with unparalleled brilliance. But when a roaring blaze grows too intense, it consumes all, leaving nothing but ashes and tears.
His parents had been in love at some point. Kinich recalls the times where his father would embrace his mother after handing her a breathtaking bouquet of flowers, his lips brushing across her bruised cheek with a rare sweetness. In those moments, Kinichâs father would whisper words of affirmation to his mother â promises and saccharine reassurances that would always remain unfulfilled.
Yet more often than not, their âloveâ consisted of domestic quarrels, the shattering of glassware against the walls of a derelict house or the slap of a hand across blemished skin. Love had destroyed them, and Kinichâs worst fear is the thought of your relationship falling apart.
So heâs maintained an ample distance throughout the years, keeping you at armâs length to ensure nothing goes wrong. Heâs always been by your side, close enough to share embers of his love yet not close enough to burn you, and now his caution is returning to haunt him.
Kinich is going to die before he has the chance to confess his true feelings.
As much as he wills himself to stay conscious, his eyelids begin to grow heavy, threatening to flutter shut for the last time. The sweet sensation of death threatens to lull Kinich into an eternal slumber, luring him in with a deceptively-tantalizing siren song, filled with promises of peace and an end to his suffering. A sense of fear grips Kinich as his life begins slipping away. Heâs not ready to die. Thereâs so much he still wants to experience with you.
A million thoughts race through his mind before his imminent demise.
He thinks of Ajaw, who would be free to catalyze the implosion of the seven nations without Kinich around. As cruel as fate has been to him, Kinich doesnât want the world to burn.
He thinks of his comrades â fallen warriors who had fought valiantly until they no longer had the strength to go on. They deserve to be revered and honoured, not lost to the sands of time.
And he thinks of you. His everything.
The weight of the star bracelet you had gifted him starts feeling a lot heavier. When you purchased it, you had told him it brought back recollections from one of the best days of your life, adding that you hoped youâd make many more precious memories in the future.
Kinich canât let you down now.
A wish flickers to life within the depths of his soul, desperately manifesting in shades of emerald and rich forest green. Resplendent viridescent tourmaline glints by his chest where there had once been a gaping wound, fueling Kinich with revived vigor. Kinich feels rejuvenated, and with his newfound strength, he stands, preparing to face another onslaught of abyssal attacks.
This time heâs ready, and heâll stop at nothing until he purges every last enemy.
Kinich is determined to fight â for Natlan, for his comrades, and most importantly, for you.
ACT VIII.
When a hero returns from war, they are typically met with the relieved faces of their loved ones and an outpouring of affection. However, Kinich finds that neither of these things welcome him upon his arrival home. Instead, he is greeted by the sight of an exasperated frown on your face and vitreous tears welling up in the corners of your eyes.
âYouâre so stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid! I canât believe you almost got yourself killed!â You continue to ramble on, your words amalgamating in a panicked jumble of incoherence as Kinich wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you in for a warm embrace. Ever since Kinich told you what happened during the Night Warden Wars, youâve been distraught.
To his relief, he feels the tension within your body dissipate as the proximity between the two of you gradually dwindles. With your face finally hidden from view, you allow your teardrops to flow freely down your cheeks in bittersweet rivulets; Kinich can tell from the way his clothing seems to dampen. Absent-mindedly, Kinich traces circles on your back, calmly running through cycles upon cycles to ground you.
âSorry,â is all Kinich can muster, his throat feeling parched under the scrutiny of your glare as you pull away to shoot him a nasty look. Thereâs so much more he wants to say to you, but he canât find the strength to put any of it into words. âI didnât mean to worry you.â
You scoff, your tone nearly sardonic in nature, yet beneath it all, Kinich can sense how much you missed him â- how terrified you were that you would never see him again.
âIs that all you have to say?â you ask. âYou nearly died, Kinich. I nearly lost you.â
The lines of your facial features, once creased in irritation, soften, giving way to vulnerability.
âI know,â he sighs, shivering as resignation chills him to the bone. He hates the fact that youâre right. Kinich reaches out to caress your cheek, gently wiping a tear in the process. âIâm still here though.â
âThat doesnât guarantee the same thing wonât happen in the future,â you choke out between hushed sobs. âWhat if next time you actuallyâŠâ
Before you can go on, Kinich presses a finger to your lips, effectively silencing you. For a few seconds, he simply allows you to lose yourself within the comfort of his arms. He needs you to process the fact that heâs tangible, breathing, alive, before he says anything more. Kinich waits for your ragged gasps to even out before speaking.
âDo you trust me?â he asks, moving a hand to lace your fingers together.
You nod furiously, eyeing Kinich suspiciously through your sorrowful display of emotions.
âThen believe me when I say Iâll always return to you,â Kinich whispers softly.
Moments go by before you hesitantly respond.
âFine.â
Kinich isnât one to break promises. Ending a contract unceremoniously leads to mounting costs and debt, so he tends to avoid obliging to tasks he considers impossible. Perhaps thatâs why you relent so easily. You know Kinich would never go back on his word â especially not if it has anything to do with you.
âIâm still expecting you to make it up to me though. I was unbelievably worried.â
âSure thing,â Kinich replies, his voice breezy and nonchalant once more.
Just let me hold you for a little while longer first.
ACT IX.
Adrenaline courses through Kinichâs veins, fueling him with an urgent sort of determination. He races the wind, desperately trying to transcend nature itself. Heâs always been quick, but right now, heâs not sure heâll be quick enough.
You could be in danger.
If Kinich had known that there had been a surge in abyssal activity within the territory of the People of the Springs, he would have never let you accompany Mualani and the Traveler on their excursion; he wouldnât have sent Ajaw away on a special mission in the dead of night in an attempt to seek some peace and quiet either. However, Kinich only found out a mere hour ago, and now heâs scrambling to reach you without the aid of his flying companion.
Kinich knows very well that he could arrive just to find that nothing serious is going on, but the thought of not being by your side to protect you in the case that something actually does happen glazes his soul over into a thousand fractals of crystalline fear.
Thatâs why he runs with as much haste as he can muster, guided by gilded lights reflected in untamed waters, their glow casting a luminous sheen across the wavering ocean surface. As Kinich draws closer, he senses a feeling of foreboding in the air, charging his surroundings with the essence of an ominous premonition.
And then he hears it â an ear-shattering scream.
No matter how much Kinichâs legs scream for respite, he rushes on. With every step, his pace only accelerates. The sole thought on his mind is getting to you in time.
When he finally reaches the village, pandemonium is the first thing to make his acquaintance. Warriors from the tribe fiercely attempt to fend off the incoming assault on their homeland, parrying the attacks of each monstrous entity with precision developed throughout years of rigorous training. Kinich knows theyâre skilled at fighting. He trusts them, so instead of delaying, he rushes to more secluded corners of the town, fending off any monsters lurking around the outskirts in the hopes that heâll run into you on the way.
He swings his claymore as if it's instinct, warding off all peril as he desperately searches the din of discombobulating havoc for any sign of you. His first potential lead comes in the form of a cerulean blur, followed closely by a flash of gold â two of Kinichâs few friends. Before Kinich can call their names, theyâre already out of earshot. However, as he turns away to continue his search, a small fairy-esque creature barrels into him, swaying slightly as a ferocious gale attempts to send her flying into disarray.
Kinich reacts quickly, his body working faster than his brain. With ease, he snatches the entity from the sky, effectively pulling her out of harmâs way.
âHello, Paimon,â Kinich says, fighting to keep his tone neutral. With great difficulty, he suppresses all the anxiety, facing Paimon without betraying so much as a hint of emotion. Truthfully, heâs a wreck on the inside.
âKinich!â Paimon exclaims, her high-pitched voice cutting through the cacophony of noise ringing out in the turbulent night. âWhat are you doing here?â
âLooking for [name]. Have you seen them around?â
Kinich doesnât realize heâs holding in his breath until he hears Paimonâs response. A small gasp slips past his lips.
âUm, last Paimon heard, they were heading to the east part of the village. There were some kids playing there earlier without supervision.â
Of course. Kinich should have known you were off helping others. You had always been willing to lend a hand to those in need, even when you first met Kinich. It was one of your many traits that charmed him all those years ago.
âThank you, Paimon,â Kinich says, trying his best to keep a building sense of dread at bay. âYou should catch up with the Traveler now.â
âSee you soon, Kinich,â Paimon chirps before zipping away.
Now that heâs alone, Kinich finally allows the panic to set in. With even more fervour than before, he speeds off in your direction, grasping at various ledges with his grappling hook to move quicker. Kinich is all but weightless, akin to a delicate feather drifting through the breeze. However, itâs still not enough.
Youâre cornered and alone when he finally spots you, backed to a wall as two beastly hounds eye you hungrily, sparks of violet electricity igniting in their irises. Just as Kinich figures that the kids have been brought to safety, one of the creatures lets out a guttural roar, a horrific sound unlike anything from this world. You cower in response. Time seems to slow as Kinich watches the abomination extend its claws, ready to rip into you without mercy.
Before he can spare another thought, Kinichâs body reacts. He flings himself through the air, landing precariously fast and skidding along the grass. As he starts slowing to a stop in front of you, he swings his claymore, countering the abyssal wolfâs attack.
Kinich shields you. No matter how perilous the situation becomes, he knows he will need to remain steadfast and resolute.
As the dust settles, you finally catch a glimpse of Kinich. He hears you call his name, feels your hand brush against his shoulder, and senses you shuffling next to him.
However, danger still lurks before you, so with one hand, Kinich lightly shoves you back, taking caution to ensure you wonât end up injured.
âLet me handle this,â he says, extending an arm to prevent you from taking another step forward. He changes his stance and faces the hounds head-on.
The monsters prepare to attack again, and Kinich takes it as a sign to charge forth, swinging his claymore with as much force as he can manage. Although the beasts are fearsome, Kinich lands blow after blow, gradually weakening them with each hit. The only thing on his mind right now is his desire to protect â to save you like you saved him all those years ago.
Kinich allows his instincts to take over, relying on the battle experience heâs accumulated to guide him through the abyssal skirmish. Suddenly he feels as though heâs back in the Night Warden Wars, fighting with all his heart to ensure heâd see you again. His resolve steels, and with one final strike of his weapon, he dispels all danger, banishing the hounds before him to the precarious realm from whence they came.
As soon as Kinich has ensured that the situation has settled, he turns back to inquire about your wellbeing. However, before a single word can slip past his lips, you run up to him and collapse in his arms, trembling like a leaf within a harrowing autumn squall.
âYouâre safe now,â he whispers, his breath tickling your ear. Kinich holds you tighter, his grip so secure that even death wouldnât be able to pry you from his grasp. âIâve got you.â
âI was so scared⊠that Iâd never see you again,â you gasp between shaky breaths, your panic slowly beginning to dissipate.
Kinich feels a lump in his throat and a pang in his chest. He knows better than anyone how you must have felt, what you were thinking as you lived out what you thought were your last moments. He was in your exact situation once, and all he can recall is his final plea to Celestia â his wish to return home to the welcoming sight of your radiant visage at least once more.
âI couldnât die before I told you that,â you hesitate, your words catching in your throat, âbefore I told you that I loved you.â
Kinichâs breath hitches. His body freezes, and his surroundings become all but null. Maybe you really are telepathically linked because that had been his exact thought as he felt his life ebbing away during the Night Warden Wars, ascending to a divine plane in chapters of fragile mortality.
âYou love me?â Kinich breathes out. In the mayhem, all is momentarily forgotten as blissful euphoria overtakes his heart, sending zephyrs of rose-tinted elation through his mind. After an eternity of waiting, Kinich finally realizes his feelings are reciprocated. âI love you too.â
The look on your face softens as sensibility and coherency begin to overtake you once more, but before you can return Kinichâs affections, dissonant screams and crashes shatter your transient utopia.
Right. Youâre still in the midst of chaos.
âDo you know where the Traveler and Mualani were headed?â Kinich questions you urgently, recoiling slightly as he ruins the moment. He hates the fact that heâll have to push aside the implications of your confession for now, but at the moment, peopleâs lives are still in danger.
You nod vigorously.
âIâll take you over to them and then head back to the village to assist in resolving the crisis. We can talk more tonight.â
ACT X.
The festivities of the People of the Springs stretch well past midnight that evening, celebrating the triumph of their heroes and the recovery of the esteemed warrior Atea. Lively melodies ring out in the refreshing night air, filling the evening with songs of invigorating joy and glorious victory. Even from atop a cliff overlooking everything, the warm atmosphere still engulfs you. Although you had stayed for the commencement of the party, you and Kinich eventually decided to retire to a slightly more secluded area to pick up your conversation from earlier.
âSo,â you start, your nerves beginning to flare up in a culmination of resplendent flames, âwhere do we start?â Subconsciously, you begin to toy with your fingers, and you donât notice until Kinich stops you, taking your hand in his.
âWell first things first, we know we love each other,â he states, looking into your eyes. Ardor dances within his gaze, making itself at home between brilliant murals of malachite and topaz. The way moonlight catches in his irises, illuminating his features with a certain softness, makes your heart melt.
Now that Kinich no longer has to hold back, his immense love for you becomes tremendously apparent. As he traces circles into the back of your hand with his thumb, you realize that even the silences are adorned with gentle reminders of his feelings for you.
âIt seems so obvious now,â you laugh lightly. âI wonder why we didnât end up confessing sooner.â
Kinich hums nonchalantly, averting his eyes for just a second before turning back to you.
âWould you believe me if I told you that I was scared?â Kinich asks.
Amusement graces his features as you shake your head. Nowadays, Kinich is usually so calm â so composed â never allowing his demeanour to betray even the slightest hint of distress. From hunting saurians to extreme sports to tolerating Ajawâs creative threats all the time, Kinich has endured everything with a brave face, but now youâre starting to realize that perhaps he isnât quite as fearless as he appears.
âWhat were you scared of?â you inquire, tilting your head slightly to examine Kinich.
A pause ensues as Kinich mulls over his response, mentally preparing himself to pour out his heart. Heâs not used to it, but heâs ready to start trying for you.
âRuining the best thing life has ever given me,â he whispers. âYou know youâre everything to me, right?â
Youâre breathless as you stare at Kinich. The pure emotion behind his words is enough to widen your grin. Your heart feels like itâs ready to pulse out of your chest, speeding up in a grand accelerando and growing louder in a magnificent crescendo.
Everything is perfect.
Everything is as it should be when youâre with him.
This is your flawless elysium.
âMay I?â You cup Kinichâs face with one hand, leaning towards him. Your gaze falls on his lips, and you hear him breath in softly.
Kinich nods, reciprocating your actions as he bridges the gap between you.
Time seems to slow as your lips meet in an incandescent flash of effulgent sparks. The night gleams in shades of starlight and utopia, illuminating the moment with a brilliance that encapsulates nothing less than pure love. Perhaps your souls have been intertwined since the beginning, or perhaps destiny pulled some strings to bring the two of you together, but youâre absolutely certain that from this moment on, you would only part in death.
As you pull away from Kinich, a strange smile adorns his features. Before you can question him, he speaks.
âI finally repaid you,â he says, âafter all this time.â
You laugh. Heâs still worrying about that?
âThank you, love, but it doesnât matter to me anymore,â you respond. A part of you finds it endearing that heâs still trying to make things even after your countless seasons together, yet you feel obligated to reassure him he never has to reimburse you again.
Kinich gazes at you inquisitively.
âThereâs no debt between lovers, silly â only pure adoration and happiness.â

belladonna
in which you have to get your tetanus shot, and spencer is there to hold your hand. and⊠tease you. just a little bit. (bandages universe)
fluff warnings/tags: needles/r has needle phobia, flirty!reader, idiots in love, teasing, not established relationship yet, anxiety, Spencer makes a joke abt his addiction, did I mention IDIOTS IN LOVE a/n: works as a standalone, as do all the bandages fics I believe. anyway hope u like! <3
âSpencer, I donât think I can do this.â
He sets down his shoddy hospital coffee and grabs your knee to stop your leg from its rapid bouncing, exerting a gentle pressure when you donât immediately comply.
âYes, you can. Just breathe, okay? Try to relax. Itâs much harder for your brain to remain in fight-or-flight if your body is relaxed.â
âNo, itâsâI feel like I canât breathe right now,â you say, chest constricted in a vice of panic. âI think my heart is beating too fast, Iââ
Footsteps approach from the hallway and your head snaps up, cold dread filling every vein in your bodyâbut they continue past your door.
âOh my god, Iâm losing it. Iâm going to die here,â you rave, digging the heels of your palms into your eyes. The gauze wrapped around your hand presses against your brow and beneath it a cut throbs dullyâa cruel reminder of what it is that youâre doing here in the first place.
Spencer gives up on trying to make you stop bouncing your leg, and instead the hand travels to your jaw to find your pulse. His fingers feel cool against your warmed skin, accentuating the constant thrum of your heart. You watch his face anxiously as fifteen seconds go by.Â
âYour pulse is pretty high,â he admits gravely, returning his hands to his pockets. Your brow knits at his sudden solemnity as you look up at him. âIâm not a medical doctor, but⊠we might have to take you to the hospital.â
Any trace of worry withers from your face. âTruly hilarious.â
The corner of his mouth turns up a little.
âSee? Youâre calm enough to make a sarcastic joke at my expense. If you were actually going to die I doubt you would be able to do that.â
âWanna make a bet?â you snap.
âDefinitely not,â he smiles, warm eyes alight and not at all fazed by your attitude. âYouâre the last person Iâd bet against.â
âHa,â you say bitterly, eyes darting to the door again. âIn that case I might just take my chances with tetanus.â
âI just watched you slice your hand open on a rusty fence, take down a man twice your size, and get ten stitches without flinching. Needles should be afraid of you.â
At least now your face is warming from the compliment and not the anxiety.Â
âItâs... different. Like, stitches and shots. Shots really fucking freak me out. I donât know if you could tell. Iâm sure I seem really chill about it.â
He nods sagely. âTrypanophobia. Itâs among the most common phobias in the world, next to Arachniphobia, Ophidiophobia, Acrophobia, Aerophobia. You have Astraphobia, too, donât you? Fear of storms?â
âSpencer.â
âI also used to struggle with needles, actually.â
You look back at him, suddenly curious.
âUsed to?â
âYeah, but I pretty much got over it when I got all the vaccines for my clearance at the Academy. Becoming addicted to intravenous drugs helped, too, but I wouldnât recommend it,â he muses, examining the art on the wall behind you and taking a sip of his coffee.
At that exact moment, the door opens and a very professional, very exhausted-looking nurse hurries in. You hardly even register her because youâre staring at Spencer, trying to figure out if you just heard him right. Heâs looking right back at you over the rim of his cup, eyes dancing with what looks like suppressed mirth.
The nurse says something, and you bless her with an âuh-huhâ, unable to take your eyes off of Spencer.
âI must be hallucinating,â you say.
âWhat? Youâre the only one allowed to make off-color jokes at inappropriate times?â
âI didnât even know you could make a regular joke, honestly.â
âYou ready, dear?â says the nurse, swabbing your upper arm with an alcohol wipe.
âAh! Spencer!â You yelp, thrusting out your hand for him to take. He quickly sets the cup  back down on the window sill and takes your outstretched hand, stepping closer.
âRelax,â he laughs upon seeing how your shoulders have risen to meet your ears. âDonât look over there. Look at me.â Gently he brushes a loose strand of your hair behind your shoulder, redirecting your focus toward him. At this point youâve gone catatonic anyway, so you donât resist, although it doesnât seem to matter much because youâre basically blacking out. âLiterally relax your arm. I'm serious. It will hurt less.â
âSmall pinch, darlinâ,â the nurse says, and you clench your jaw so hard youâre afraid you might break a tooth, and maybe some tetanus-induced lockjaw wouldnât actually be so bad, and sheâs touching your arm now, and who made that extremely undignified squeaking noise, andâ âAnd youâre done.â
You frown.
âIâm done?â
âYouâre done,â the nurse repeats. Logically she has no reason to lie to you about this, but you look over to check anyway because thereâs simply no way youâre done just like that. Sure enough, sheâs smoothing a band-aid over your shoulder and pulling your sleeve back into place.
You look back at Spencer as if searching for a second opinion, utterly baffled. He carefully frees his poor hand of your bone crushing grip and grabs your discarded FBI jacket from the chair, handing it to you.
âThatâs it?â you say, taking the jacket and absent-mindedly folding it on your lap.
âThatâs it. You did it.â
âReally? Thatâs all? I feel like it canât be that easy. I donât even think I felt anything,â you ramble, rolling your shoulder around, and finding just a bit of soreness.
âYou were so brave,â he nods, stepping closer to wipe something warm and wet away from under your eyes. âAmericans can rest easy knowing theyâve got someone like you in the FBI.â
âShut up. Am I crying?â
He laughs, and the twinkly sound fills you with even more joy than normal. Everything seems a little brighter, a little warmerâprobably another adrenaline rush or a result of your brain releasing a trace amount of opioids in response to the pain.
âJust a little bit.â
âYou two are FBI?â The nurse says, like she canât quite believe it.
Before you can tell her that you donât very much like her tone, Spencer nods.
âBehavioral analysis unit.â
âOh! You guys catch all those serial killers?â
He nods politely, giving her a flat smile. âThatâs the goal, yes.â
âWow. Thereâs a meet-cute to tell your children.â
You snort and immediately clap your good hand to your mouth, looking up at Spencer to see how heâll react. Of course heâs already red and stammering.
âOh, noâIâmaybe I misled you, weâre not, uh⊠weâre not together. Not like that. We are partners in the, in the sense of our job, notâweâre not romantically involved. Justâco-workers. Friends. Weâre, Iâd say weâre good friends. I mean, sheâs great. Sheâs very nice, and, wellâmaybe nice isnât exactly the right word, but sheâs, you knowââ
âSpencer,â you interrupt.
âYou ready to go?â he says immediately, looking very grateful that someone finally cut him off. Works like a charm, every time.Â
You stand, and to your surprise, wobble a bit on your feet. Spencer steadies you with a hand to your waist. âWoah,â you mutter, trying not to look too disoriented.
âYou need to eat,â he says. âWith how anxious youâve been you probably completely burned through whatever calories were in your system. Itâs a parasympathetic nervous system response to adrenaline.â
âI know what it is.â You grab his hand and turn to the nurse, who is looking at the two of you with a bemused, slightly clinical interest. âUm... thanks? Right?â
âOkay,â Spencer says. âWeâre leaving now. Come on. Go.â
As heâs herding you out the door, you keep trying to look at him over your shoulder. âIs it weird that I kind of liked it? Does that, like⊠point to something?â
âNever repeat that,â Spencer says, shaking his head, but you can hear the strain of a hidden smile in his voice.Â
You smile up at him as the two of you walk down the empty hallway, swinging his hand in yours.
âShe thought we were together,â you say, and itâs almost a gloat, though Spencer canât quite wrap his mind around what that might mean. Instead, he relishes the weight of your hand in his. He doesnât exactly remember when that became commonplace, but he never takes it for granted. He canât help the smirk across his face which always lets you know heâs going to say something snarky.Â
âShe just doesnât understand that you need constant attention or youâll die.â
Luckily, youâre used to each other. Quips are just one prevalent dialect in your vast love language.Â
âYup. Iâm a delicate, rare flower.â
Spencer scoffs lightly.
âYeah. Like deadly nightshade. Or water hemlock.â
âThose ones are pretty, right?â
He squeezes your hand. Imagines telling you that heâs in love with you and has been for a very long time.Â
Instead, he thinks about dinner.Â
âGorgeous. Where do you want to eat, Belladonna?â

masterlist
You laughed as Kate, with a big grin, revealed the hidden Oujia board and candles from her backpack. You sat across from each other and she placed the board and candles in the middle.
"You cannot be serious, Kate." You said with a laugh.
"I was promised by the guy that we can actually summon things!" She explained for what felt like the millionth time.
You sighed, "Fine."
The candles were lit around the board and you both had your fingers on the pointer. You didn't believe in supernatural things, but Kate was obsessed with them. Ouija boards were a joke.
"Okay, ask now."
You wanted to argue that this wasn't real, but Kate looked so excited and you couldn't ruin that.
"How many spirits are here?"
There was nothing for a few moments, then, the pointer moved to the numbers.
2.
"Kate, you so just moved that."
"I swear I didn't!" She whined, "Ask again."
You rolled your eyes, not believing her.
"Who is here?"
It moved again.
D. A. D. D. Y.
"Daddy?" You laughed, "This spirit is a freak."
Kate urged you to continue asking.
"Where are you?"
B. E. H. I. N. D. Y. O. U.
You felt a chill run down your spine and glanced over your shoulder, seeing nothing. You cleared your throat and prepared to ask another question but Kate's phone rang.
"Shit. It's my mom, she knows I snuck out." Kate declined the call and stood, "I'll see you next weekend?"
You nodded, "Yeah, see you then."
At 3AM, you woke to the sound of your phone pinging with notifications.
katie <3: fuck. y/n did you say goodbye to the ouija board?
you: no?
katie <3: fuck fuck. dude, ur meant to say goodbye so you can close the door and stop spirits from entering the world of living.
you: sure kate. goodnight.
You switched your phone off and rolled over, wanting to get some sleep. In the corner of your eye, you noticed something in the corner of your room. It looked to be some type of human figure but deformed in a way you couldn't describe. Your window and door were closed, yet you felt a gush of cold air flow over you and shivered.
Your heart began to pound and your skin crawled with discomfort.
Another figure appeared in the corner of your room.
Kate is playing a stupid prank on me.
You sat up and reached for your light switch but your wrist was grabbed and long, cold fingers wrapped around your throat, squeezing slightly.
Your eyes widened and a whimper left your throat.
Minus the large horns, razor-sharp teeth, skin that appeared to be shattered, freezing cold skin, and dark black blood oozing from the body; it looked human.
"What the fuck are you?" You screamed.
The creature attempted to smile. It looked unnatural and made you feel sick to the stomach.
"Shouldn't have left the door open. You let daddy right in" It, no she, spat.
Your eyes widened. Kate wasn't joking about the Ouija board and leaving the door open. You had let two spirits into your home.
"I'm sorry, I didn't-"
"God, do mortals ever shut up?" Another female voice spoke with a thicker accent.
The hands around your throat were removed, and the new spirit caressed your face with the back of her hand. She looked similar to the other spirit.
"What are you?" You questioned, voice shaking.
"Demons, sweetheart." She swiftly replied "Hurry up, Natasha. I don't want to be here much longer."
Natasha, the first demon, ripped your blanket off your body. You cried out as she did the same to your clothes. You tried to crawl away from Natasha but she grabbed onto your hips and pinned you down.
"Go on, Wanda." Her tone was teasing "I know you want and miss it."
Wanda barred her teeth at Natasha, making your heart drop. It was a terrifying sight.
You tried to fight Natasha's hold, but she easily overpowered you and manhandled you until you were lying on your back and bare. She wrapped her arms around your thighs to keep them open and settled between them.
"Fuck you." Wanda hissed, sending Natasha a glare.
Natasha snarled and dug her fingernails into your thigh, making you whimper. You didn't understand their feud, but it seemed somewhat playful.
Your heart nearly leapt out of your chest as she squeezed your cheeks, forcing your tongue out and sat on your face. She rocked her hips back and forth, sighing in contentment as the pleasure spread across her body.
"That's it, baby," Natasha muttered, watching Wanda intently.
It was strange, but you didn't want to fight back. Your clit was throbbing and your skin felt hot. Your brain felt hazy and you struggled to form a thought that wasn't about pleasure.
You wrapped your arms around Wanda's thighs and pulled her closer. You alternated between lapping at her dripping cunt and sucking her clit.
Natasha slipped two fingers inside of you and kitten-licked at your clit. Her fingers felt like they were made for your pussy. Your walls clenched around her and you mewed loudly.
Wanda groaned and panted above you. Her slick was dripping down your chin to your neck. The taste of her was addictive.
"I'm gonna cum." Your words were muffled by Wanda, but the demons heard you. "Please, can I cum?"
"Oh, this one has manners, Natty." Wanda laughed above you. Her laughter was strained and whiney.
"Hold it." Natasha snapped.
You whined loudly, wanting to fight Natasha on her decision, but you felt like that would do more harm than good.
Wanda grabbed at your hair and pulled you further into her cunt. Her hips stopped grinding against your face and you moaned as spurts of liquid hit your face.
Your orgasm quickly followed.
You found yourself in Wanda's arms when you came down from your high. She caressed your face with the back of her hand with that sick, inhumane smile.
"I think we're gonna keep you."

to you, my greatest passion (soft yandere! batfam x traumatized! reader oneshot)
reblogs and interactions are encouraged and appreciated.
tw: allusions to stockholm syndrome, flawed relationship (they have no concept of boundaries) and mild descriptions of injuries and torture (not by the batfam). read until the end for an author's note. happy 4k followers to me :)) uh leave comments if u like this type of analysis and want to see more. i had no direction for writing this. please don't let this flop huhu i might delete this since i don't like it
as much as i love my angst, we all need something soft at times, and moments with yan!batfam with a reader who is absolutely fucking broken from their past that the mere implication that someone could love them is enough to let them melt into whoever's chest they lay upon that night.
just, hurt/comfort. one that heals the soul in its overly possessive embrace. the same way chapped lips peck softly on your cheeks, muscled arms caress your fragile, shivering body, and legs tangle upon yours in a cacophony of warm, cozy blankets.
where as the longer time passes in the manor, the more you learn to love. to let go of the painful memories your tormenters left you. to allow past scars to heal into a mere visage of what once was streaks coated in blood. your family acts as your new abductors, yes, but how could you hold your freedom against them when it is them that comfort you from drowning through the deepest depths of your nightmares?
nightmares of the past, of the knives that break through your already gashed skin, or the ropes that burn through bruises and lacerationâ every time you wake up crying, with tears running down your cheeks and a pained cry; a recollection of the torture you were subject to, it is them that come running to your room not a moment after.
it's bruce's tall, domineering form that crumbles into soft, snug pillows for you. your father arms that punches criminals into prison become the shoulder you lean on. calloused fingers rub your cheeks, wiping away your tears, holding your face in his palms like you're the most fragile thing on earthâ and you are. every time he looks at your dampened eyes and sniffling nose, he gets reminded of how lonely he was as a child, who lost his parent too young to the cruelty of the world, of gotham and her unyielding coldness. and when he reminisces, he begins to cage you in his arms a tad bit tighter, begins to comfort you longer and softer than he has ever done with anyone else, as if he is reassuring himself. it is with you that his vulnerability, that fear of loss becomes all too stronger. and every time you cry a bit longer, your hold on his sleeves becoming unyielding, does bruce become crueler in his pursuit of fighting crime, a lesson to himself that the people he punishes are those with hands capable enough to harm you, his precious, his pearl that glints throughout the moonlight.
whenever your father is unavailable, it's dick who runs to you, with all the intention to provide you comfort. it's him who calls you his baby bird, as he reassures you that you're no burden in his eyes every time you scream in terror as your sleep. it's him who loves to drown you in his affection, always near, always close, never far and never too much. physically, he's the most doting to a fault. tender, yet tight were his hugs. his kisses to your cheeks and your forehead always linger, as if hesitant to release itself from its rightful place. it's a testiment to how much he loves you, how he's incapable of separating himself from you. god, he loves you so much he wishes he'd just melt right into your skin, so that you actually finally realize how you're the most important thing in the world to him. you, his baby bird. if he had met you sooner, quite earlier, right after his parent's have died, then maybe he could've managed his anger better, could've learned to cope with you through the battles you both fought. it's with you that dick feel unbearably euphoric, ready to spill his love to the point where tears consume his eyes and his head laid on your chest refuses to detach itself.
jason isn't familiar with what warmth feels like, not anymore. but when he sees your hapless state, he sees a reflection of himself in that abandoned warehouse. broken, defiled, hurt. with nothing to comfort you from the cold other than the ropes that burn through your skin and the adrenaline that runs through your veins. he forgots what solace feels like, what it means, but through your shared trauma does jason learn. he learns to talk to you, with you, learns to pinpoint each and every emotion he felt at the time, what you felt inside that putrid basement. he learns to manage his grief because he doesn't want to anger himself looking at you, at just how much justice can only serve so many. the longer you talk to jason, the more he becomes softer, yet hungrier. he learns how to hold you in a way a brother learns to hold his baby sibling for the first time when conceived. he relearns the warmth he felt, like when he was finally able to be good enough to be the successor to the title of robin, when he felt you drool on his chest when you trusted him enough to sleep in his room. yet this time that feeling was accompanied with that ominous, distracting essence. one that makes jason's knuckles crack and have him prepare his guns, as he discovers that you can never truly erase the past. and even though it might take years for him to be your ideal brother, he could at least be your sole protector.
then there's tim, who never truly had the opportunity to develop that deeper sense of love he wanted to feel until he was officially adopted into the wayne family right after his parents' death. don't get him wrong, he loves his mom and dad, and so does he loves his current familyâ but it's obsession that drives him nonetheless. the need to prove himself, to gather information about everyone to know who they truly are; beyond that there's nothing more than shallowness, a neverending hole he can't satisfy. but with you? oh god, you. to tim, you're his everything. you devour his being whole. with you, there's always something new. the need to track every single thing about you leads him into this cycle of want and need that coagulates into desire, into drive. every time you smile, or laugh, or frown, he gains newer intel about you, one he loops into the deepest crevices of his brain at a constant, you are his constant. but staying right behind you can only do so much. and as he sits right beside you in bed, awkwardly comforting you through the ways he mirrored off from his brothers: a sloppy kiss to your knuckles, a joke cracked here and there, and wiping your eyes and nose with his sleeves; tim learns that stalking can only do so much. he learns what it feels like to be needed for emotional connection and nothing else and that only further motivates him to be perfect for you, and to be with you, his sibling, more often than to simply live right under your nose.
and damian, your baby brother, who's unsurprisingly the one who sleeps in your room, or has you sleep in his room, the most. damian tells himself he's incapable of love, of showing it or reciprocating it. but for you, he tries, and like jason, he learns. he discovers just how depraved both of you are when it comes to love. it enlightens you both and it makes damian feel a deeper sense of connection with you than anyone else. with you, he feels like a child: vulnerable, yet uncaring and free, like the true meaning of being a robin, one the soars through the skies with no grandfather or mother or league to watch your every step as their successor. all the times you cry, he silently sobs with you, holding your cheeks down to his level with scarred palms. silent, yet comforting, he'd allow his smaller form to simply become your teddy bear whilst he whispers consolations. about how strong his older sibling is, how precious you are for being comfortable with him to speak of your problems, how you're everything to damian just as he wishes to be the world for you. it makes you think you're more immature that him, it makes him grateful that he has you. even though he doesn't say it, he shows through actions just how truly important you are whenever he draws a sword towards his enemies, thinking about you and his unsaid promises.
nights where you're reminded of that solitary confinement, of the darkness that creeps into your vision and the voices that pierce through your ears. nights where you feel you've exhausted yourself of hope, where what was once warmth that hugs your heart is now that frigid, yet burning spikes that penetrates into the confidence that you'll somehow, someday, run away from that hellholeâ those were nights you thought you'd never live with proper sleep. but as one or two of them holds you in their embrace whenever your nightmares consume your being, you're slowly allowing your established walls to fall apart, all for the mere implication of their love.
who would save you, if not for them? their hushed whispers of consolation, hands that wrap around your figure, and fingers that knead your cheeks provide you that deep sated comfort you always wanted. the sleeves they use to wipe away both saltine liquid and snot, to slowly silence your blubbering rambles, your inconsolable crying; it's warmer than the basement you used to be locked in as a child, with dripping faucets the only source of your waterâ they saved you once before, who's to say they won't save you a thousand times more?
every time you feel like crying, every time that familiar faulty tap in your eyes begins to dampen against ashen skin, it's them that asks you if you're alright. even if you grit your teeth, even if you seeth or bite or beat or punch or kick, to punish yourself, to cope through the trauma, to not feel nothing.
every time pain begins to sear through your skin, it's your grandfather, father, brothers and sisters that huddle around you and tell you 'you're safe here, in the manor, with us'.
every time they spend hours, ditching patrol nights, cooking your comfort food, reading your favorite books, watching movies for hours, ignoring your assigned sleep schedule, kissing your scarred hands gently, reverently, cuddling your form against their strong ones as a silent promise that with them, there's nothing to harm you no moreâ you'd feel lighter every time, a tad happier, even. slowly, but surely, melting against the confines of your adorned cage and the embrace of your loving captors.
every time they help you heal, it makes you forgive, and it makes you forget their prior kidnapping in return of building new memories with them, in a safer haven, with nobody to hurt you any longer, with nobody to bash your head against concrete walls, to punish you. you who is underserving of the circumstances bought upon you back then.
safe, a word you thought you'll never feel, a word you didn't even know existed in the crevices of your heart. but it is with them that you slowly start to associate safe with family.
the family that you've come to love and cherish in your own imperfect ways, the same way a stray dog becomes too loyal to a passerby when given bones for leftovers every day.
but you're not an animal, and you're not a pavlovian dog meant to be conditioned. no, you're their baby, their love, their treasure and their only one. the love they feed you exceeds beyond leftovers. only you can devour them wholly, the same way they cloak your world in the love that fills that neverending pit in your heart.
you're not biologically related to any of them in any way, too. yet it was all a matter of coincidence that they stumbled upon you.
but really, past is past.
then is then.
now it's just you and them.
it's you, with them.
just your family. overbearing, overprotective, overpowering.
but nothing is always over to you. their love isn't too much. how could you tell yourself it's too much? not when you were never given a basis of what is too much. how is one too much when you were never even given enough?
trust is built upon a foundation of connecting with others who can relate with you one way or another, who can see past through your flaws and mistakesâ it's a bond that precedes mere acquaintanceship.
you might've met them later than everyone else, but it's you that completes them.
you're the puzzle that completes the family photographs, the goal for bruce to continue his legacy as batman and to ward off all evil, the inspiration for dick to be that aspiring hero everyone sees him to be, the reason jason begins to reform himself for your sake, the purpose for tim's endless pursuit of knowledge, the muse for damian's painting, the subject for his love he thought was no more, the ambition for steph's prolongation despite her countless of failures, the motivation for barbara to seek out all the criminals who have harmed you, the influence for cass to be stronger to protect you, the catalyst for duke to use his metahuman abilities for good, to take out those who walk in broad daylight, as if they weren't involved in your past tortures.
you're everything that they are.
their sunshine and moonlight, their companionship and loneliness, their pain and pleasure, their yin and yan.
their greatest passion.
a/n: hii guys erm. this is so sudden and also counts as a rant but yk... i feel like quitting this blog but at the same time not. it's just, i feel like writing has been more of an obligation than anything else. it doesn't help the fact that i've only been getting interaction if i were to actually produce something good. beyond that, it feels like people are expecting more of me. i get it, updates are sporadic, they appear in the blink of an eye when you least expect it, but at the same time it's just hard juggling what i want to write and what i feel like i need to write. this blog was primarily to post about my thoughts and to talk to people but lately, every time i open this app to write, i feel these plethora of thoughts and expectations telling me that if i don't do well enough then people would merely ignore whatever i post or it's just bad by standards. and yes i'm grateful for all the people supporting my writing, but at the same time i'm lead to a cycle of me losing my motivation to continue writing. ugh idk what im doing anymore help :((
tl;dr: will i stop writing? no, but at the same time i don't know. someday, i may deactivate this account out of impulse if i feel too much, or not. it depends hehe.
