How Procurement Software is Transforming Modern Supply Chains | ProcurEngine
In todayâs competitive business landscape, efficiency and precision in procurement operations have become critical. Traditional procurement methods, with their reliance on manual tasks and paperwork, often result in delays, human error, and operational bottlenecks. However, with the advent of Procurement Software Solutions, businesses are witnessing a significant shift in how they manage procurement, impacting not just cost savings but also their overall supply chain strategy.
The Impact of Procurement Software on Business Operations
The Impact of Procurement Software cannot be overstated. From automating time-consuming tasks like purchase orders and approvals to providing better control over spending, procurement software allows organizations to streamline their processes and make more informed decisions. The ability to consolidate procurement activities in one centralized platform minimizes errors, boosts efficiency, and reduces lead times, thereby significantly improving operational workflows.
By utilizing procurement software, companies are not only gaining better control over supplier relationships but also ensuring a higher level of transparency throughout the purchasing lifecycle.
Revolutionizing Supply Chains with E-Procurement Software
One of the most significant ways e-procurement software is revolutionizing supply chains is by shifting procurement activities from manual processes to digital platforms. This shift enables companies to automate approvals, track real-time spending, and enhance visibility across departments and suppliers.
E-procurement platforms facilitate smoother transactions, allowing buyers and suppliers to engage in faster, more accurate exchanges of information. The elimination of paper-based workflows means fewer errors, shorter processing times, and faster procurement cycles. As a result, businesses can maintain better inventory control, reduce costs, and respond more efficiently to supply chain disruptions.
Procurement Management Software for Strategic Operations
In the increasingly complex world of procurement, businesses are relying on procurement management software to handle supplier relationships, contracts, and performance management more effectively. These tools allow procurement teams to evaluate supplier performance based on key metrics such as delivery times, product quality, and pricing.
Through real-time data analytics, companies can monitor and assess suppliersâ strengths and weaknesses, enabling better contract negotiations and minimizing risks. This level of data-driven insight is crucial for maintaining a competitive edge and ensuring that procurement operations align with the organizationâs broader business strategy.
Additionally, procurement management software centralizes important information, such as contract details and supplier history, which is easily accessible to procurement teams. This ensures that critical decisions are made based on accurate, up-to-date information, leading to improved supplier performance and stronger partnerships.
How E-Procurement Software Enhances Collaboration
Successful procurement isnât just about automation and cost-saving; itâs also about collaboration. With the help of e-procurement software, businesses can foster better relationships with their suppliers. These platforms allow for seamless communication and transparency between both parties, ensuring that all stakeholders are on the same page when it comes to deliveries, orders, and payments.
E-procurement solutions simplify the bidding process for suppliers while offering buyers a structured way to evaluate and compare bids. This improved collaboration results in stronger relationships, better service from suppliers, and more favorable contract terms for businesses.
Maximizing ROI Through Procurement Software Solutions
One of the key objectives of any business is to maximize its return on investment (ROI), and procurement software solutions play a pivotal role in this effort. By automating procurement processes and providing better oversight into supplier management, businesses can drive significant cost savings. These savings can be reinvested into other areas of the company, fostering innovation and growth.
Moreover, procurement software allows businesses to scale effectively, handling larger volumes of orders and working with a broader range of suppliers without compromising on quality or efficiency. The insights derived from procurement software enable procurement teams to make better strategic decisions, from selecting the best suppliers to optimizing purchase orders, leading to long-term cost reduction.
The Future of Procurement Software: AI and Predictive Analytics
As procurement technology continues to evolve, we are seeing more advanced features integrated into procurement software solutions. AI and predictive analytics are transforming procurement operations by providing actionable insights based on real-time data. With AI-powered tools, businesses can forecast demand, optimize inventory, and even predict supplier performance, allowing for more proactive decision-making.
These advancements are particularly valuable in a rapidly changing global market, where supply chain disruptions and price fluctuations can occur unexpectedly. Procurement software with predictive analytics can help businesses stay ahead by identifying potential risks and opportunities, ultimately improving supply chain resilience and efficiency.
Blockchain in Procurement: Ensuring Transparency
In addition to AI, blockchain technology is set to have a major impact on the procurement industry. Blockchain offers a secure and transparent way to track transactions and verify the authenticity of goods and services. By incorporating blockchain into procurement systems, businesses can enhance trust with suppliers and ensure that every step of the procurement process is transparent and secure.
This added layer of security is particularly important for organizations that operate across multiple countries or industries with strict compliance requirements. Blockchain-enabled procurement software solutions provide a tamper-proof ledger of all transactions, ensuring that data integrity is maintained throughout the procurement lifecycle.
Conclusion
The impact of procurement software on modern businesses is undeniable. From automating manual tasks to providing critical insights for better decision-making, procurement software is revolutionizing how companies manage their supply chains. Whether through e-procurement software that digitizes purchasing activities or procurement management software that enhances supplier collaboration and performance, these solutions are key to staying competitive in todayâs business environment.
As technology continues to advance, the role of procurement software will only grow in importance, offering businesses the tools they need to navigate the complexities of the global supply chain efficiently. By embracing these technologies, companies like ProcurEngine are helping organizations around the world streamline their procurement operations, reduce costs, and achieve greater success.

1935 Duesenberg
Clark Gable and his 1935 Duesenberg
His wife, Carole Lombard, had one too, which is now in a museum in NZ.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif.
Its 420-cubic-inch straight-8 pulled like a train; it was reputed to have a 115-m.p.h. top speed â âright off the showroom floor,â It could exceed 100 m.p.h. in the second of its three gears, boasted E. L. Cord, the companyâs president at the time. Its wheelbase of nearly 12 feet gives the car a poised, unflappable ride. And its massive steering wheel guides the wheels straight and true â although its vacuum assisted drum brakes provide the car somewhat uncertain stopping power
Today, the carâs odometer shows 13,416 miles.
It was January 25, 1936 and Clark Gable had a new car to show off â to a new object of his affections. She was actress Carole Lombard, and the hostess of the lavish White Mayfair Ball, a formal Hollywood soiree, to which Gable drove his 1935 Duesenberg Model JN convertible that night.
The suave actor eventually convinced Miss Lombard to âtake a spin around townâ with him; when he invited her to his suite a few miles away at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, she famously replied, âWho do you think you are? Clark Gable?â
They werenât exactly strangers; they had already co-starred together in âNo Man of Her Ownâ. After filming wrapped Miss Lombard presented Mr. Gable with a ham â with his picture on it! But their professional relationship went no further at that point; Miss Lombard was then married to William Powell (she divorced him a couple of years later).
Nevertheless, after they re-connected at the White Mayfair Ball, a scandalous affair ensued; Mr. Gable, still married, was often spotted traveling in the Duesenberg with Miss Lombard from her bungalow on Hollywood Blvd. to night spots, restaurants and hotels all over town. One of those places, The Georgian Hotel in nearby Santa Monica, now advertises the couple had trysts there often.
âThis is nothing discreet about this car,â Mr. Gooding said as he pulled up in the glowing Duesenberg, in front of The Georgian. Not exactly the type of car for two famous stars to be seen in â when they are trying to downplay their affair!
. The car fairly screams ânotice me!â. Even now the Duesenberg, which appeared in a couple of actual movies of its own, is a show-stopper.
âThe record for an American car sold at public auction is $10.34 million, for a Duesenberg â the 1931 Whittell Coupe â which we sold last year,â Mr. Gooding said. âIn many ways, however Gableâs 1935 JN is an even finer example.â It is undeniably rare; fewer than a dozen JNs were built â only four of which were convertibles. But no other Duesenberg is like this one. (I will update this post Aug. 19 with the sales price!)
And, then there is the consideration of its celebrity provenance. âIâve never seen a car with a history behind it like this one,â Mr. Gooding said.
Its 420-cubic-inch straight-8 pulled like a train; it was reputed to have a 115-m.p.h. top speed â âright off the showroom floor,â Mr. Gooding said. It could exceed 100 m.p.h. in the second of its three gears, boasted E. L. Cord, the companyâs president at the time. Its wheelbase of nearly 12 feet gives the car a poised, unflappable ride. And its massive steering wheel guides the wheels straight and true â although its vacuum assisted drum brakes provide the car somewhat uncertain stopping power.
A work of automotive art!
Of course, that has often been said about many great works of art â sculptures, paintings, and the like â but seldom about automobiles. Many collectors, however, consider the 18-foot-long Duesenberg, with its flamboyant, following lines, the epitome of automotive art.
The Model JN that Mr. Gable bought originally had a body by Rollston. Mr. Gooding noted, âIt was a work of art already.â But Mr. Gable decided it wasnât audacious enough for his tastes.
So he took it to master coachbuilders Bohman & Schwartz, in Pasadena, Calif., for a complete re-working. And besides, the convertible top leaked â which Miss Lombard reportedly thought amusing; Mr. Gable, however, was mortified.
Clark Gable shows off his beloved Duesenberg!
âNot only did Gable sketch out many of the changes he wanted himself,â Mr. Gooding said. âHe also got hands-on with it, and worked on it himself. I donât recall an example where a celebrity got so involved, and essentially helped craft the car.â
The modifications included body-colored radiator cowl and headlamp pods, raked windshield, extended hood with custom air scoops, re-location of the side-mounted spares to a double-deck âcontinental kitâ at the rear, rear fender skirts, chrome side pipe exhausts (with a driver-controlled bypass lever), functional rumble seat, and a stowable convertible top â that no longer leaked!
It was also re-painted from a pale green to a luminous cream color that seems to glow â apropos of any star of stage, screen or even outer space.
Despite the fact Mr. Gable owned a large, discerning collection of other Duesenbergs, Packards, and Mercedes-Benzes, the JN remained the preferred ride of the inseparable lovers.
So public was their romance that Photoplay magazine ran a feature in December 1938 out-ing them as one of âHollywoodâs Unmarried Husbands and Wives.â Mr. Gable had also been linked in recent years with Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow and Loretta Young (with whom he fathered a love child) â among others. Producer David O. Selznick was ready to cast Gary Cooper as Rhett Butler in âGone With The Windâ unless Mr. Gable cleaned up his personal life. So the studio reportedly helped pay for Mr. Gableâs costly divorce from heiress Ria Langham; he got the part. The rest, as they say, is history.
Gable got the part!
Mr. Gable and Miss Lombard (who lost out in casting for Scarlett OâHara) eloped in March 1939. In 1941 the happy couple set off in the Duesenberg on an epic vacation â sort of a belated honeymoon â from their ranch in Encino, Calif., up the Pacific Coast to Vancouver, British Columbia. The trip was nearly 1,500 miles, on primitive roads.
It must have been quite a sight: two of Hollywoodâs biggest stars pumping their own gas, fixing their own flats, even changing their own oil â the Gables didnât want anyone else touching this car! â in a car easily worth $35,000 then (Mr. Gable made more than that in one month, in salary, in those years â and Miss Lombard made nearly as much).
âThis was at a time you could buy a Ford for a few hundred dollars,â Mr. Gooding noted.
In Vancouver, the couple would see the Duesenberg for the final time. They stored it there, planning to return the next summer to drive it back to California. They took the train home.
Some months later, however, Miss Lombard was killed in a plane crash near Las Vegas, Nev. Gable, devastated, instructed an agent to sell the beloved Duesenberg â with the proviso that he never would see it again. He never did; he died in 1960.
The Duesenberg became a four-wheeled vagabond, crisscrossing the country, changing hands more than a dozen times. It was re-painted at least four different colors. Its engine was replaced in the 1950s. Parts went missing.
But the current owner, Mr. Gooding said, acquired it in 2006 and ordered a no-expense-spared restoration to its Gable-era glory.

If anyone was interested in some more information about the most recent Mike Farrell piece I was lucky enough to acquire, here we go.
The booklet came with a typed "verification" that Mike filled out for a charity auction. "This is to verify that Mike Farrell has donated the following article/articles ---Book--- Around the World in 8 Days to Sacred Heart Central School to be auctioned off. Signed Mike Farrell." I know it's difficult to read.
After some back and forth communication, Mike landed on "the journey was more exciting than publishing the book itself." Mike has always been an avid journal writer, which is where most of his books and his recent e-book originated from. According to Mike, the booklet was only published by Concern America for charity purposes and was never sold or distributed elsewhere. He also admitted he had forgotten that the physical booklets even existed. Love that.
I didn't scan the actual content because it's 50 something pages, but its available online in text format to read and I really encourage everyone to do that. Knowing the story of Heann (the little boy whose hands are on Mike's face), is one thing. Finally having a face to put to the name is another.

SuperBat Week 2024 fic recs
DAY 4 - THIS IS A LOVE STORY/THIS IS A DETECTIVE STORY On a case | Undercover | Damsel in distress
Brothers come in kinds by AgapantoBlu [T, 35,300 wc]
Clark Kent has received an anonymous tip containing Jason Toddâs original autopsy, and implying Bruce Wayne had been abusing him before that. Of course, he hurries to offer his protection to the other children. Tim is thoroughly exhausted and misses being an only child. Bruce broods.
Comment - Investigative journalist Clark Kent has a job cut out for him. Good thing he can rely on Superman's long time friend Batman to get closer to the brooding Bruce Wayne. Suspicious thing that everyone is so protective of Mr.Wayne. (#on a case, #under cover)
Man of Steel, Man of Heart by capsicleonyourleft [M, 13,700 wc]
Clark gets information that Lex Luthor is in possession of Wayne Tech and decides to confront Bruce Wayne about it. As he suspected, Wayne isn't involved with Luthor, but he is ready to look into it. It's just Clark's luck that some paparazzi catches their meeting on film and suddenly the papers are filled with "SUPERMAN: WAYNE'S LATEST CONQUEST?"
Comment - Lots of undercover sleuthing in the name of a case here. When such fine detective as Bruce Wayne, Superman, Clark Kent and Batman join their forces, it will be over soon, right? (#on a case, #under cover, #damsel in distress)
mission parameters by shipyrds [E, 33,400 wc]
"Bruce." Clark turns towards him, leaning back against a bank of consoles. "We're not actually going undercover. We don't need an elaborate backstoryâ if anything, it'll be harder to keep straight. It doesn't have to be complicated." He spreads his hands. "Here's a story: we're members of the same elite fighting force. After years of saving each other's lives in the field, we fell in love. That's it." Bruce swallows past the almost-truth of it. In Clark's warm smooth radio voice, it sounds plausible. It sounds like something that could happen. â Bruce and Clark pretend to be married for diplomatic reasons. When they return to Earth, things are a little different.
Comment - Justice League's diplomatic mission takes Bruce and Clark to outer space and out of their comfort zones. To pretend that they are mated is challenging. To pretend that it doesn't mean anything is the hardest part of this mission. (#on a case, #under cover, #damsel in distress)
Overboard by FabulaRasa [E, 3,100 wc]
Bruce invites Clark to a cruise on the Wayne pleasure-craft, where he has to spend a weekend watching Bruce do his thing. It may be more than he can take.
Comment - Clark wanted to to see what is real about Bruce. A sliver of Bruce's honesty was too much. (#on a case, #under cover)
poker face (raise it, baby, stay with me) by susiecarter [T, 2,600 wc]
Clark Kent meets Matches Malone on a perfectly unremarkable Tuesday. Bruce hadn't arranged it that way. He hadn't intended for it to happen at all.
Comment - Some disguises keep people apart. Some disguises bring people closer. Isn't it ironic that Matches Malone turned out to be the latter type of disguise. (#under cover)
Satisfaction Brought It Back by slippin_into_darkness, SpiritsFlame [G, 18,200 wc]
Bruce always thought that Superman's cute shtick of rescuing cats from trees was a bid for publicityâuntil a confrontation with a magic user leaves him stuck as a cat. He learns how mistaken he was when Superman not only rescues him, but takes him back to a small Metropolis apartment. The opportunity to learn more about the alien can't be ignored, but is Bruce ready for everything he will learn about someone he has only ever regarded with distrust and dislike?
Comment - The best undercover job is when your enemy can't even start to imagine that your are in his lair. Take that alien, Cat!Bruce is on the mission and he will unearth your secrets. (#undercover)
To the Highest Bidder, a Fake Dating Caper! by RedFive [E, 29,100 wc]
On a rainy night in Gotham at a charity auction co-hosted by the Wayne Foundation and the Chapman Family Trust, Clark shows up to help Bruce out of a bind. As an organizer, Bruce can't bid on the item he's put up for auction, but Clark can, which would prevent it from falling into the hands of his enemies. The only problem? He neglects to tell Clark that the item in question is a date with Gotham's most eligible bachelor, Bruce Wayne. Or that he'd be wearing a dress for the occasion.
Comment - Sometimes a man gotta wear a red dress to get his friend to face some truth. Sometimes, his friend can still surprise him. There's also a case to solve, if other things go pear shaped. (#on a case, #under cover)

Can I please request an Amado x reader fic where he slowly starts to fall in love with her? and, if it's possible, can she be a non-fluent Spanish speaker? Somewhat like Mimi. Thank you so much!
By proxy
Amado Carillo Fuentes x female!reader, (mention of you wearing heels/skirt/painted nails/lipstick, no warnings, the usual for the show) 1545 words
a/n : hopefully this is what you had in mind ! let me know how you like it
As always it's the fictional, not the real deal, enjoy xx
When he arrived, you were already seated in the chair next to his assigned one. Sunglasses perched on your nose, colored lips matching your nails, and satellite phone opened to your ear, ushering things in the receiver he couldnât understand. Amado wouldnât usually pay attention to all those details, but the space between the seats is narrow and you donât seem to realize he needs you to get up so that he can finally sit down.
The heat is unbearable today. Of course he knew Belize was going to be hot, but the humidity mixed with little wind is making sweat run down his back. A temperature you donât seem to mind, deeply invested in whatever conversation you are having, with your freshly pressed shirt, not a bead of sweat on your forehead. He has to cough to get your attention, and the look you give him makes him feel like he is intruding, your palm cupping the receiver so as to not disturb whoever is on the other side.
ââ Puedo ayudarle? ââ
That is when he notices your accent, the way the r comes out round and unrolled. You speak English, he thinks, but he canât figure out more. Heâs never really been one to notice the subtleties between accents.
ââ Thatâs my seat, ââ he begins in English, ââ Do you mind if..? ââ
ââ Oh. ââ
You are quickly on your feet, pressing the back of your knees to the chair to make more space for him to pass through. He can smell your perfume, feel the softness of your silk shirt as his hand brushes your elbow as he moves forward. You sit back down at the same time as him, one of your legs moving on top of the other. Before he can even say thank you, you are back on the phone, throwing phrases and fancy words he canât understand. Is English is good, but it clearly wasnât fluent enough for whatever business conversation you were having. You close the antenna with a snap.
ââ Iâm sorry about that, not very lady-like of me. ââ
There is no point for you to try talking to him in Spanish anymore, and as much as he canât shake away his own accent, he knows his English is probably better than your Spanish. You donât really mean it, half an apology, half small-talk, too focused on what is happening up front, the first plane being manoeuvered on the tarmac. He offers you a polite smile nonetheless.
ââ Itâs all good. ââ
The plane isnât even stopped behind the podium that the auction starts, loud voice coming from the speaker, bragging about the size of the crew cabin, the space in between the seats. Nothing he needs to know, nothing that would make a difference in the type of business he plans on making with those buys. Rip it all out, he would say, start loading it up. It goes pretty fast after that, when the auctioneer finally stops talking about the whys and the hows and starts selling the plane.
He can feel you watching, chin turning his way every time he buys a plane. Probably because, compared to him, you havenât bought much so far, no one did really.
ââ May I ask you what all those planes are for? ââ
You are bold, he can give you that, biting your questions, answers rolling off your tongue just as quickly. He doesnât even realize when he started smiling, cheeks touching the underside of his sunglasses.
ââ I could ask you the same question. ââ
Your bite the inside of your cheek, as if you are thinking it through, if you should actually give him an answer or just another question in response.
ââ Fair enough. Maybe our bossesâ business isnât for us commoners to talk about. ââ
ââ Oh, no, youâre mistaken. Iâm the boss. ââ
That catches your eyes, knees turning to his side, body following shortly as your own sunglasses slide down your nose with the movement. He knew it would, maybe that is why he said it. There is something fun about you, carefree, that feels like it could turn this chore into something enjoyable for once. He never liked making small talk, but he does appreciate this back-and-forth that is happening. Amado watches as your elbow drapes over the back of your chair before you speak.
ââ Whatâs your name again? ââ
You do be asking many questions, he realizes, but he gives you his name nonetheless, finding himself to enjoy it when you give yours back.
ââ Then, Amado, ââ You continue, ââ Why do the dirty work? Itâs hot as hell on this tarmac. No budget for shades, the paddles are plastic, no wine bar, whatâs in it for you? ââ
ââ Good company, clearly. You seem to be doing those a lot. ââ
He loves the way his name sounds coming out of your mouth. You barely acknowledge his statement, raising your own paddle for a small luxury plane as your attention turns back to the front. A few second passes, before the gavel smashes the podium. As the applause dies down, the auctioneer talks into his microphone, voice booming and with more spectacle than he usually enjoys.
ââ Told my boss I could speak Spanish, but Iâm more at a 4-year-old level than anything else. You mind translating that for me? ââ
He can tell you are flirting, trying to keep the conversation going. Your eyes are playful, meeting his and twisting his insides, sparkling warmth to his chest. This feels different, and he wonders if he has gotten too old for this. Still, he plays into it.
ââ He said the planeâs all yours, mija, but that you have to pilot it back to the US if you want to keep it. ââ
Your laugh makes the people in front of you turn, you donât mind them though, continuing to look at the vendors as they parade the planes around.
ââ I would crash the damn thing. You donât happen to know a good pilot, do you? ââ
He leans his head to your side, close enough to smell your perfume again, almost tasting the salt from your skin.
ââ Hmm. I got someone in mind. ââ
ââ Well I hope heâs any good, I plan on coming back in one piece. ââ
You are raising your paddle again, two, three times until the sale is yours. He is sure you get more Spanish than you let him on, or maybe you just go for looks and hope the plane fits your budget, if you have any. You havenât talked much about why you are here either, and he canât help but wonder who would buy almost as many planes as him. It is not as much, clearly, he is here to buy the biggest ones, all of them, but you have been weirdly focusing on the smaller ones, the cleaner ones, rivalling all the white heads on the tarmac.
ââ Donât worry, ââ He says as he adjusts himself on the chair, ââ Iâll land us safe and sound. ââ
You find this funny, beaming at him, smile wide and refreshing in the heat. He can tell your eyes are curious, squinting from the sun as you look at him over your sunglasses.
ââ How romantic. ââ
There is no real implication behind your words, mostly mocking him, brushing off your actual surprise that he is in fact a pilot. Amado buys the last three planes, it is a quick process, raising his paddle, gavel knocking, and before he knows it you are on your feet, heels clacking on the asphalt the moment they end the auction.
He watches as you pull down your skirt, gathering your things in one hand while the other moves towards him, wide open for a handshake.
ââ Well, Amado, the pleasure was all mine. I guess Iâll see you at the next one? ââ
Probably not, he thinks, but he gets the sentiment, appreciates it even. He shakes your hand, your warm palm against his, a fingernail grazing the inside of his wrist.
ââ I thought I was supposed to fly you back home? ââ
ââ Are you asking me out on a date? ââ
ââ Maybe. Are you saying yes? ââ
You donât answer him straight away, sizing him up and down. He canât tell what you are looking for, but the small smile on your lips makes him think whatever he is doing is working. You take your hand back, pushing hair behind your ear.
ââ Iâm staying in San Ignacio tonight. The hotelâs bar is pretty good if youâd like to drop by for a drink. ââ
You donât wait for him to answer, turning on your heels and walking down the aisle, waving to a man in a suit that is quick to walk you to a black suv. He can do nothing but mirror your smile, pushing his sunglasses up his head. He wouldnât mind doing the drive, especially if it means he could see you again.
He doesnât have to think more about it, you had him at âbarâ, âdrinkâ, the notes of vanilla in your perfume. A cold Whiskey actually sounds like a good idea.

zone of interest: good film, deserves all the awards it's getting. the film-maker's video art installation background really shines through, lots of long static shots, repetition, creative manipulation of the type of recording used. The praise the sound design got is also very well deserved.
an interesting aspect is the depiction of Mrs Hoss' mother. She is of course an anti-semite and nazi, but i think uniquely within the film she feels the need to articulate her anti-semitism with reference to the jewish woman who used to hire her as a cleaner, how she took part in the "street auction" for this woman's personal possessions and is only disappointed that she got outbid for her curtains. It's like she has to prove her legitimacy to her daughter. On the other hand, for the Hosses the holocaust is simply the thing that they are doing -- they don't need to find a way to morally justify it. They are not bothered by the sounds of industrial slaughter, unlike this pathetic old woman; she approaches antisemitism as something external to her, which she has entered into; for them it is something that they are the bearers of, the theory which structures the world and which they are putting into practice. There is an important point about how ideologies operate and can evolve, and not only racist ideologies.
i don't think it's exactly saying anything new, but it's an accesable depiction of the concept of the banality of evil. Of course the commandant of auschwitz is both a monster and a normal person, with his monstrousness grounded in his normalcy, and the same is true of his wife. The actress playing Mrs Hoss is especially good at depicting this. An early scene is her trying on clothes taken from the new arrivals at the camp -- this isn't the story about repression which i was basically expecting. She knows what's going on, the kids know what's going on, but for all of them it's just a part of life -- part of the process of building their new life in the east, ugly because it's not yet complete, like the vines she's planted to grow over one part of the garden. And of course we have the high-level management meeting discussing the extermination of the jews of hugary, the form of which will be familiar to anyone who's attended a management meeting.
These peop|e did not shock me exactly, but they did disgust me. What it actually put me in mind of was the mindset of a terrorist: such people, carrying out this industrial slaughter with a smug self-confidence, should be made to die. If that would mean hurting their kids in the process, so be it. The disguting nature of their existence in the world is such that some innocent deaths would be a price worth paying to remove them from it. Given the affect of the film -- it's clearly meant to induce a sense of brechtian alienation, drawing deliberate attention to its status as a film -- acheiving this emotional outcome is a remarkable acheivement.

Photo
From 2016 and 2017 eBay listings, photos of George Harrison and Pattie Boyd at Benclare, the bungalow they rented during their Barbados honeymoon, February 1966, photographer unknown; plus two color photos from their honeymoon, possibly taken by a fan, auctioned by Rago Arts and Auction Center in 2016.
âPattie Boyd remembers: âI was with the Beatles, and all these musicians â and it was a very merry group of people. And I did feel, we are the leaders, the world is ours, and itâll always be like this. I couldnât see it crumbling, I couldnât see it disintegrating. I just thought, this is wonderful! Itâs not my parentsâ world which is so grey and dull, with no color, no music, not much laughter. I felt at last Iâd arrived in the âproperâ world.â [In July 1964, George purchased] a gated bungalow [Kinfauns, see: #harrisonarchivekinfauns] in Esher, Surrey [for himself and Pattie], with a swimming pool and a large garden. But London was near enough for clubs, parties and celebrity screenings. Pattie acquired a white Persian cat called Korky, while George bought an E-type Jaguar and later an Aston Martin DB5. They became vegetarians â but âwe didnât eat muchâŚâ Pattieâs favorite was still sweets. The house resonated with the sound of Georgeâs guitar. âWe were really happy at that time. We were young and creative, and we had lots of friends and musicians who would come over all the time â Mick Jagger for example, and Brian Jones would come quite often, and my brothers and sisters. With George, I could play! I could be a child again. Those were the times I thought would never end.ââ - How Was It For You?: Women, Sex, Love and Power in the 1960s by Virginia Nicholson (x)

â¨Bidding Now Open!â¨
I'm a bit late in making a promo post, but I just wanted to share with you that I'm offering both a Teen Wolf fanfic AND any fandom fanart for @fandomtrumpshate this year! It's my first year participating. I think it's a really cool project, and I'm really happy to be a part of it. (:
My Offers:
(long post including art examples)
DoughritoArt Auction #1 (^ click to see listing!) Organizations this auction benefits:Â Bidder's choice of any of the listed groups (See full list.) Type of fanwork:Â Fan art Subtype(s):Â Banner, Book cover, Drawing/painting/etc., Photo manip Fandom(s):Â Any Length/scope:Â Minimum bid is $10 for simple edit, eBook cover, or plain illustration. $20+ full book layout or more complex illustration. $40+ willing to do complex painterly illustrations. Basically, the more you donate, the more complex and detailed the result. Fan art details:Â High Resolution/print quality Illustration, Banner, or Book Cover. Willing to do full sleeve book cover (Cover, Spine, and Back [including text]) as well. Comfortable with Edits or Illustration, capable of using commercial use assets, happy to discuss specifics. Especially interested in:Â I am particularly fond of stories involving queer romance, trans characters, and occult imagery. I am fond of both historical and modern fantasy. I really enjoy working with Original stories, but I also like 'underrepresented' fandoms, older fandoms, and superhero media. Unwilling to address:Â No extreme gore (i.e. Splatterpunk), no graphic horror (mild horror is okay), not super fond of extreme musculature. Struggle with illustrating of anthropomorphism, mecha/machinery, scantily clad/nude women. Other notes:Â I would like to have a very direct communication with the bidder. I want to make sure I am able to tailor your art to exactly what you want. I would like a lot of input at the initial stage, so I have a good idea of what direction to go (i.e. illustration vs edit and what subject matter), and I would like feedback when presented with multiple options. Special interests:Â Poly ships, Canonically trans or nonbinary characters, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters
ThePurebloodPrat Auction #1 (^ click to see listing!) Organizations this auction benefits:Â Bidder's choice of any of the listed groups (See full list.) Every $5 adds 5k words, i.e. $10 = 7k, $15=12k. Maximum word count minimum is 25k. Minimum Bid:Â $5 Especially interested in:Â I am most interested in Sterek, Stackson, Scallison+Stiles, Jydia+Stiles, or other main MLM pairings. I am very open to poly ships. I enjoy some dark themes, but typically prefer to write main pairings in healthier relationships while the dark elements are external in longer plotfics, I don't mind the main pairing featuring dark themes from a kink-oriented perspective. (i.e. if you'd like 5k of a character getting nonconned, I'm cool, but 20k of yandere!character stalking their partner, I am less cool.) I enjoy transmasc characters. fave tropes: creature!Stiles (werewolf, raven shifter, vampire, otherwise supernatural), magic!Stiles, mpreg, Omegaverse, canon divergent, med.fantasy, college au fave characters: Stiles, Derek, Jackson, Lydia, Peter, Erica, Isaac, Allison, Scott, Parrish, Finstock, Sheriff, Boyd, Liam, Corey, Danny I enjoy writing complicated people and complex relationships. No Scat, no bugs, no necrophilia, no Major Character Death, no genderbending. Less extreme, I am less fond of: All human/no wolves AU, Post Apocalyptic AU, Time travel Other notes:Â I would like to have a consistent communicative relationship. I tend to go weeks without working on something and then binge write a whole huge chunk at once. I would love to be able to shoot a few ideas at you randomly and have you respond in a day or two, to make sure you like the direction I'm going. Special interests:Â Poly ships, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters
Here are a few examples of cover art and illustrations I've done:
