Fic Update—Chapter Sixteen: House of the Rising Sun (Tyler + Wednesday)
Approaching a towering plane of emerald glass that faded to black at the center, I stood there and waited. Waited for him to come. Hairs stood up on the back of my neck and a shiver as if I had stuck my finger into an electrical socket rolled down my neck and spine, through my fingers and toes making my heart race. Appearing out of the dark jeweled depths was a form. A version of me that was so exact yet different it played tricks with my head. Made me wonder if I was just looking at another shifting reflection.
But then it smiled.
"Good to see you've been taking care of us," my hyde said casually while pacing back and forth like a caged animal. "You've bulked up some. Are we back on swim team? Or is it soccer this year?"
"We need to talk.”

I wonder how many hydes are there in the world and how they're treated. Seeing how tyler was treated im guessing it'ssss not good :/ I wonder if there'll be other hydes in willowhill or if they are just extremely rare. I want tyler to meet another hyde maybe an older hyde so they could help him control his hyde and be his sort of mentor. Tho after seeing how hydes are banned in nevermore i doubt any of them will come out willingly due to how society views hydes and fear them
Im also wondering if hydes are the only outcasts who are destructive by nature- if so then thats a pretty sad fate. And i just cant wait to know the origins of hydes and how they came to be like i think its a very interesting plot point to delve into

When I see people recalling Tyler's crimes it makes me laugh. Yes, Tyler killed people. And ? Do you think that makes it impossible to have redemption ? Something tells me this kind of person isn't used to enemies-to-lovers romances in fiction. And then, people forget the whole context around why Tyler committed these murders, namely that he was forced by a psychopath who awakened the Hyde in him, also amounting to a monstrous 2nd personality that she enslaved to let him do what she wanted. We are more of a victim than a master killer and/or manipulation. Yes, because many still like to convince themselves that Tyler never loved Wednesday. People love to forget to think. Literally, it's easy to understand that Tyler has no idea that Wednesday was his mistress' target when he met her. Many Wylers understood this long before the Tyler actor's statements. Between his attitude and the fact that he tried to help her leave town, it seems obvious. And then, without forgetting all the times or during the show, Tyler looks at Wednesday completely in love when she is not looking. Who would he pretend to be for? The spectator? Wednesday isn't the kind of show that requires deep thought, it's pretty standard. So I worry about people who don't understand Tyler's character. Including one of my own friends who is however... very good in her way of thinking about many very complex things. So, wtf ? Also, why do people act like Wednesday could never forgive Tyler ? He has very extenuating circumstances, not to mention that she likes to protect the underdog and that Tyler is the ultimate outcast, even among outcasts. Yes, he tried to kill people she loves, but ultimately they are alive. And again, there are extenuating circumstances. Why couldn't she actually forgive again? I doubt she has such a special attachment to Tyler's other victims that she would never forgive him. It's stupid. She didn't care about these people. And once again, the real killer in the story isn't even Tyler. Tyler was basically just a puppet. Let the antis Wyler and Typer Galpin go fuck themselves frankly.

For reference about what i said about Enid's werewolf height the other day, this is how crazy her size is in wednesday's description in the novel and i hope SO MUCH they never change it cause it's both fun and funny as fuck
Example 1:
Tumblr media
Example 2:
Tumblr media
Example 3:
Tumblr media
And now the side by side with my favorite werewolves one of them having until now the title of biggest werewolf
Tumblr media
PLEASE NETFLIX THIS IS SO FUCKING FUNNY IT OPENS SO MANY POSSIBILITIES, KEEP IT, like, bring it into the show, also because the novelization as many others more likely than not was based on the show's early development and then still got approved in the end means that despite the weird ass golden retriver we got they were probably really going for a horror inducing werewolf in the finale, in the final side by side specifically if she was on all fours like in the show she would still be around Van Helsing's own height, this is insane, can my fellow werewolf nerds come talk about this we got a gold mine here on teenage show territory and i need more

There is a lot of parallel between Enid and Tyler. There situations with their parents didn't treat either one kindly. But Tyler became a bully where Enid became caring.
Every story beat involving Tyler shows Wednesday making the wrong move where the ones with Enid have her making the right move. Yeah Tyler was the bad guy so duh, but from a story standpoint, the push and pull between Enid and Tyler is great.
She involves Tyler leading to the guys at the fair coming after her, leading to bumping into Rowan and then the Hyde killing Rowan. She shows Faulkner's journal to Tyler, he distracts her, Thing gets stabbed and they lose the journal. Wednesday goes to the dance with him and leaves Eugene unprotected, and the Hyde gets him. She brings him to the Gates house, he scares them off as the Hyde.
~As opposed to~
She asks Enid about Rowan, leading to discovering the nightshades library. She helps during the Poe Cup and has a vision pointing her in the right direction. Switching assignments on Outreach day let her protect Eugene and push her towards figuring out who Goody was. Enid helped her get out of the school to go to the Gates mansion, and she got the garage door open and she found Laurel's room, before the Hyde could scare them off. Enid pointed out Tyler was closing the Weathervane the night she kissed him and had the vision of him being the Hyde. She saved Wednesday from the Hyde.
There are other parallels between the two besides their push and pull in the story. Wednesday cared about both of them, expressed herself more to both of them. They both took her to Crackstones crypt for her birthday. They have the same scar on opposing sides of there face. I'm sure there is more.
Tyler was always the negative choice. Enid was always the positive one. I think Tyler would bring her down a darker path where Enid makes her a better person.

The funniest thing to me is that out of all the toy companies to pair up with Netflix’s Wednesday was Little People
Tumblr media
A show that due to its themes and complex characters/plots that you’d think would be marketed to the older crowd made toys for toddlers
I love it so much you don’t even know
And look at the “wittle Hyde” he’s so cute 🥰
Enid for sure would have a set
But dude could we have had Thing instead of creepy pedo teacher Gates 🤷🏻‍♀️
just sayin’

Fic Update—Chapter 21: Camisado Pt.I (Wednesday +Tyler)
Tyler eased badck into his pillow. "Good. I can rest easy then."
"Not quite," I said casually; chuckling to myself at how Tyler tensed ever so slightly beneath me. "My mother and father want us and Pugsley to get ready at the house. I don't understand why. Then again, I've never understood my parents nor their modus operandi."
"Maybe they just want to share the moment with you and your brother."
"If only it were that simple."
"Hmm," Tyler hummed; his hands smoothing over me appreciatively--sensually though there was no heat or urgency behind his languid motions. "Do you think that they may know about what's going on?"
"Possibly. My mother does have visions like me. But she's a dove. How could she have seen something as dark as your mother torturing me in my self?"
He shrugged. "Got me there, I forgot about her being a dove for a moment."
"Whatever their plans are, we have to comply. They've take my dress and your suit hostage. Had Lurch pick them up from the tailors. That traitor. To think I was going to going to take him grave digging with me over winter intersession."
Tilting his head up and to the side as the alarm went off, Tyler sighed. "Guess we need to start getting ready for class."
"I would rather we didn't."
"And that's exactly why we got to. The day you willingly ditch class is the day I know the universe is imploding."

I think this is an interesting question.
There’s a lot of inconsistency and straight up holes in the lore so it’s hard to say for sure.
On one hand, Hydes are supposed to be this ultra rare and unknown type of Outcast. It was why neither the Nevermore nor Nightshade library had any books on them, there was only a journal of their existence that Fester happened to know about…but the school knew to ban them and it was written on Françoise’s medical record?
It’s also not clear if a Hyde is an Outcast onto themselves, or are they some other type of Outcast such as a Psychic and a traumatic event causes one to emerge. I’d have to rewatch, but I thought Weems mentioned how they don’t outright ask what type of Outcast a student is, it’s self-reporting and I guess they take their word for it.
So, it’s possible Françoise either lied and knew being a Hyde was possible. Or she was attending Nevermore as a Psychic, and didn’t know she’d be a Hyde until her own emerged later on in life.
I’m leaning towards she wasn’t aware she had the potential to be a Hyde. If she was hiding her status at Nevermore, I think the smartest thing to do would have been to a) leave Jericho and those who might figure out she’s a Hyde and b) would not marry someone who specifically distrusts Outcasts. The “Outcasts of Outcasts” would be like a double issue for Galpin if he ever found out.
I also think it would be incredibly selfish of Françoise to have this highly dangerous genetic condition that she could potentially pass on, especially if her husband didn’t know and she didn’t warn her son.
I’m hoping and leaning towards Françoise being unaware she had the potential to become a Hyde.
Because of Galpin’s clear bias against Outcasts which his son had learned his own bias behavior, I want to say Françoise lied and he didn’t know. I lean towards her being a Psychic because they’re “Normie passing.”
I never got the sense that Galpin was ever angry with Tyler for bullying Xavier, other than getting caught and prosecuted. He was just more irritated or closed off from speaking with a therapist/about the death of his wife that his son was clearly struggling with, which Tyler was only doing as a court order.
Given the bias and disregard for Tyler’s attack on Xavier, I want to say Galpin would not have married Françoise if he had known she was an Outcast. He doesn’t like them, he doesn’t trust them, and I don’t know what about Françoise would lead him to have made an exception.
Hopefully we learn either way, because I’d be interested in why an Outcast would choose to pass as Normie or would like more in depth into her mindset and motivations as to why she’d be so selfish if she did know she was a Hyde.

The more i think about tyler's behavior in the first episode, the more odd it becomes. I think the first time he met wednesday, he definitely didn't know who she was and was just acting like his usual nice self. But after that first meeting, i feel like he researched about her and asked thornhill who she was. The scene of him going through his dad's file, why did he decide to do that? Just curious? If so, why gave it to wednesday? If it's all part of his plan then why gave her key information about her dad's past that is linked to laurel gates (her dad allegedly murdered laurel's brother) it just doesn't make sense why he'd do that. Maybe an attempt to make her stay? He knows she'd be intrigued with a mystery, especially relating to her own parents.
I think, that after tyler met wednesday, he asked thornhill about her and thornhill gave him one order, to keep her in town
But when wednesday called tyler to ask him for help to escape jericho again, he agreed to help, no charge, not even a single hesitation in his voice
So, what was his plan? He could've easily rejected her, but he didn't. Which is weird. My theory is that he accepted to keep her close to him because he knew that if he rejected her request, she would've tried to escape anyway. So the night of the festival, tyler gave her gomez's file in order to make her stay. But it didn't work. Luckily, they just so happened to bump into rowan, and that was tyler's chance to make her stay. He had to show his hyde and kill rowan because he knew wednesday would be intrigued by it and tries to uncover why it killed rowan and not her.
And, it worked. She stayed in nevermore
